Aliens. On the Wii. Specifically, an Aliens RPG made by Obsidian, the same folks who are responsible for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. The Alien trilogy is quite possibly my favorite set of movies in all of existence, so I am really, really happy about this. As long as it doesn't suck, because aside from AVP and AVP2 for the PC, all the games based in the Aliens universe have pretty much sucked. Let us hope this is an exception, yes?

It's being developed for all next gen consoles and PC, so I'm throwing this in the general games forum.
Anyway... That's totally sick. I love the Aliens series and to see them develop an RPG based on the series is a hell of a good idea. I think that there's tons of potential for the series, especially as an RPG.
Having Obsidian creating the game means that it's most definitely going to be quality. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up exactly like Neverwinter Nights 2... Graphically and the interface and everything... KOTOR ended up being a Star Wars version of NVN 1 basically, but with better graphics and all that good stuff.
I can't wait to equip myself plasma rifle and some acid proof armor. Nice post dude.

However, we all know that Predator is totally the better monster.
I wonder, if they gonna do Alien, are they gonna do a Predator? They should do it like when you get to be the Predator, and go around in 3rd person. That would be beast.

Now this is striking up more ideas. First off, yes I think this would be fantastic, especially as an RPG!
This other idea I've got, even though I don't really like the film much, is an Alien Vs. Predator RPG, which you can choose which side you choose (humans, aliens or predators) and you have an equal party. Maybe a multiplayer option too? I think that would be cool.

What I'd like to see is an RPG that answers the really, really big question that is posed in the first Alien film, and never, ever answered: what, exactly, is the alien and what are it's origins? Is it a biological weapon, created by the race the pilot of the derelict belonged to? Are they a naturally occuring organism, one that the Space Jockeys decided to nab a specimen of? For that matter, they could give us the origins of the Jockeys themselves.
If the game answered one of these questions, I'd buy it, even if the gameplay was crap.

Don't quote me on it, it's been like 6 years since I've touched an Alien based book but I'm quite sure they're from their own planet and expand to other planets somehow or another.

They don't exactly explain the origin of them but we know that in Alien Vs. Predator the predators breed aliens to fight them.
