The Evil Dead
I've yet to see this movie in theaters myself but a couple of my good stoner friends have... Now I really don't trust their judgement because they think that just about any movie is amazing while high ( I recently saw the very mediocre Touristas with them and one claimed it to be an excellent movie ) and it's a freakin' Mel Gibson film.

I have a feeling it's going to be nothing but pretentious drivel, like anything Mel directs. So far though it has surprised the box office expectations given to it and as long as it continues to be moderately successful, we're going to be seeing more Mel Gibson in the directors chair.

Honestly I don't see how this can be a good film in the least... If anything it's probably a 2 hour " epic " full of nonsense, violence, and lots of naked tribesman. Sorta like The Passion of the Christ without Jesus.

Has anyone bothered? If you haven't seen it, why not? Are you as scared of Mel as I am? ohmy.gif

from what ive heard its a bloodbath and little else. It looks interesting but no where near interesting enough to pull me to the movies, so ill prolly wait until its out on the dvd..

It was very gorey. At times, that's expected with the story line and all, but at other times it's not necessary. I kinda enjoyed the movie, aside from the gore. Few of the characters were devolved, about 3 lol or even had any growth.

Oh well, if you like half naked men and women, and a lot of excessive gore- then by all means, go see it.

Just don't expect to find any anti-Jewish symbolism in it wink.gif Cuz remember- he already apologized for it. (Sorry, my friends and I were making jokes that he would have all this anti-Jewish messages in it, lol).
Drunken Mel making slanderous claims is just funny.

I will be seeing it tomorrow most likely. I will definitely get back to you on it. What's the problem with Mel Gibson's pile of works? I find him a sensational actor and fairly-well director. Not to mention is evangelism of the Christian faith and the smuthering of Jews.

He is a decent actor, and director; but some of the gore was not needed and took away from the movie (in my personal experience). Other than that, it is good movie.

And it's neat to see that his recent outbursts didn't tarnish his star power, considering the movie did well in the box office.

I still want to see it. I missed it, but I think that Mel Gibson could never beat the blood of Quinton Tarantino (that hack). I was actually expecting blood from Gibson though (Braveheart & THE PASSION).
