American Reconstructors:

This group is dedicated to the rebuilding of America to the point of it's former glory. They have a set determination to achieve their goals, but they have suffered the most from the Nuclear Winter. This faction is based in North America.

Refugees:

Refugees are the collection of hundreds of nations, each of them devastated by the Nuclear War. They continue to carry on the tradition of their countries, but they have realized that in order to survive, they have to work as one nation. They have put their hopes in the new field of Interstellar travel, hoping to establish colonies on other planets, where they can live peacefully.

Nation (please give the name, fictional or not. If fictional, please give brief history):

Those allied to surviving nations are desperate almost to the point of the refugees. With the collapse of the World Market, all countries have fallen on tought times. Smaller countries have formed together to raid larger, more resource rich countries in order to survive. Each of these countries have their own laws and traditions, and some even act as camps for refugees.

Masaru:

Little is known about Masaru. All that is known comes from captured agents. Masaru is a criminal organization, with an unknown intent. Memebers of Masaru are well connected, but they always where a mask to hide their identity. Masaru is lead by the Council of Five, and each of the leaders is believed to have special abilities.

Outcasts:

The final faction is Outcasts. They have no home, even among the refugees. Often bitter, angry, and disfigured, Outcasts are the most common suicide bombers. Outcasts are looked down upon by the rest of the World.

-= Classes =-

Classes define what abilities your character has. Most classes just show what you specialize in, such as snipers being good at hiding. Some special classes do exist.

Soldier:

Soldiers are well developed all around. They can use any type of weapon, and are okay at most tasks. They specialize in nothing.

Bounty Hunter:

Bounty Hunters exist for the money. They are motivated by greed, and specialize in using custom weapons. This is by far the most dangerous group to face one on one.

S-Criminals:

S-Criminals are those who commited incredibly serious crimes during the War. The majority are dead, but around Twenty are rumored to be alive. Every S-Criminal has some sort of special ability. (Note: If you want to be an S-Criminal, you must PM me, otherwise your account will not be approved)

Specialists:

This is the general name for any former military specialist, i.e. Snipers, Commandos, AT troopers, etc. They are each good at a certain task, but because of their training, they aren't cut out for some jobs.

Rogues:

Rogues are unknown. They have yet to find their speciality. Usually rogues are very young, and are somewhat well-rounded.

Mutants:

Inevitably, some mutations are caused by Nuclear Weapons. Most proved fatal, but a few adapted quite well to the radition. Mutations are far and wide, and the most common is telekinesis. Other mutations do exist, but most are unknown. Mutants are usually ashamed of their powers. The Council of Five is assumed to be mutants.

Faction: The highest bidder.
Class: Assassin.
Age: 21
Appearance: About 5'9, Syphus has meduim dirty blonde hair, and blue eyes. He wears a tan T-shirt with a black zipped jacket (wich he never 'zips' up. Therefor leaving it open) Long baggy navy blue jeans, and black on black sneakers.
Personality: Usualy is by himself, not wanting to mingle in other peoples affairs; unless he's going to kill them however. If ever envolved in a comversation, Syphus is a funny guy who knows whats going on around him.
Brief Background: His father killed his mother with a pistol, one wich he always carries. Syphus grew up in New Greece when riots were constant, and not unlikely.Syphus's father was an Assassin too, thats how Syphus got into the job (after finding that out at age 14 digging through his fathers 'hit-lists') When Syphus's father died durring a 'mission' he was assigned to do in ERC, Syhpus simply packed all his belonging, and took some arsenal from the basement, he was 18 now.
Syphus's father never let him go into the basement, so he constantly snuck down their when his father was gone. In doing this, Syphus leanerd the technique to pick 20th century locks with a hair pin and some other small useless-otherwise utensils. Ever since 18, Syphus has been trying to get a 'mission' (as his father would say) and earn some money, and a name.
Other Information: Carries:
Sniper rifle - High powered, low clip, single shot, minimal recoil. Bad for close combat. Super-high range.
(he lugs it around in a giant Cello case, like in the old days with a guitar/violin case.)
Two Revolvers - Slower rate of fire, not as powerful as a magnum, but recoil is low, and doesn't jam

Appearance:Dress Uniform -- Standard apparel of the 322nd Enforcer Brigade (Based in Southern Germany)
Combat/Patrol Uniform -- Same as the above, only completely black and devoid of medals and badges. Only rank and serial number/barcode are shown. The head is concealed and contained completely by a helmet (Similar in style to those used by German Infantry during WWII) and a biohazard mask with orange-tinted eye pieces that glow in the dark. This is due to the nightvision built into the lenses themselves that automatically switch from normal spectrum to nightvision and back, depending on the conditions. The headgear is a self contained air filter and is airtight, nullifying the effects of gas weaponry commonly used by riot control squads. Due to the hoarse noise the filters make, the eerie coloring of the eyepieces, and the almost skull-like appearance of the mask itself, these particular Enforcers are called Death Watchmen.

Personality: Completely devoted to the ideals of her country, as is per Enforcer standards. She was subject to mild brain-washing during her recruitment process. She has a sharp, calculating mind that leave little room for sympathy or remorse. She follows her orders to the letter, regardless of the moral or legal implications.

Brief Background: Eris was drafted at the age of 15 into the ERC's military academy. After displaying intense loyalty and skill, she was placed into the Enforcer's training program at 18. By the age of 22, she was an acting sargeant in charge of a small squad of junior Enforcers charged with policing the city of Grafsberg, the current provincial capital of the state of Germany.

May use normal or armor piercing slug rounds.

Appearance: Six feet tall, muscular build, wears New Greecian Heavy Armor without a helmet. Hair is jet black, with a streak of white running from his right eye to the center of his head. He left eye is artificial, with a large scar running down it.
Personality: Like most cyborgs, he is very cold and calculating, acting as a counter-balance to his brother. While he is trained for close-combat, he dislikes the intense emotion of it.
Brief Background: Kaitos was born in New Greece during the Revolution in the Middle East. His father had long since abandoned his mother, leaving her cruel and bitter. He despised her for hitting his younger brother, and ran away from home to join the military. An explosive attack from a terrorist blew the majority of his body to pieces, and he was sent to a hospital to be given nano limbs. He was then sent on leave, where he visited his mother and younger brother.
Other Information: Prefers to use the heavier AT rifle, which he customized with a scope. The nano-muscles allow him to move fast enough to dodge long-ranged bullets (1-mile away). He has been charged with murder, but found innocent. The victim was his mother, who was found in an alley, spinal column removed. Kaitos is his pseudonym

Faction: Aresian Colonists
Class: Assasin
Age: 19
Appearance: Unlike his brother, he goes around without obvious body armor. He wears bandages on his core areas, which cover up the surgery wear his armor was planted into his skin. His hair is a dark brown, similar to his brother's, but no white streak is in it at all. The bottoms half of his face is covered by banadages as well, more to give a sense of inhumanity rather than practical value. Both his arms are wrapped in chains.
Personality: Chronos is the anti-thesis of his brother, hot-blooded and passionate. Often gets caught up with girls more than with his work. He enjoys both sniping and killing his opponents at a close-range with a blade or axe.
Brief Background: Suffered at the hands of his mother, but wasn't old enough to fend for himself. After Kaitos left, he took up training in ancient weapons form, joining a New Greecian Spartan Youth program. He quickly learned bladework, and found a knack for sharp-shooting. He was still on leave during Kaitos' return, but his division was soon sent to Ares, where they were given to the government there as protection.
Other Information: While using a sniper rifle for far-away targets, he still prefers to kill someone up close. He made a traditional pike-axe from the Renaissance, modifying it so that the edge would be heated enough to cut through armor. He employs a variety of weapons, ranging from the Japanese Shuriken to ERC Optical Cloaking.

Just a note on the whole plotline of this, I am trying to go for a historic-like feel. So instead of following a set plot, I will add "World Events" in the OOC topic. You can't just ignore these though, they apply to everything.

I do have a set plot in my head, at least the ending, which WILL remain the same.

And my final point in this, if you want to make "Squads" with other players, they have to be either in your faction, or rebellious enough to help you, and you have to have their consent.

Personality: Mostly quiet and conservative, keeps his calm almost all the time, he is a very good tactician and is a good soldier.
Brief Background: A veteran of the 2nd Russo-Asian war as a recruit, was placed on a special ops team due to his excellent battle sense. The team saw many horrors of the war, such as being ordered to burn civilian cities to the ground. Vergil's squad was wiped out in an ambush by the SAA, he was the lone survivor of the team, left gravely injured, he was eventually rescued and he recovered to full health.Vergil does not talk about these events, probably due to post-war trauma. He continues to serve the military as a Death Watchman alongside Sargeant Eris Richter.
Other Information: Wields dual .50 cal specials, one which he survived with from the 2nd Russo-Asian war, and the other a new .50 cal that he aquired through the military. The Desert Eagle that he kept from the war is outdated, but he keeps it so that he will remember what happened to his team.

Appearance: He has dark tan skin and short, dark red hair. He dresses in all black. Heavy duty black boots, tight black gloves, black belt, and he has a headband to keep hair out of his eyes. (woo hoo, I was creative...) On first glance he looks to be weak, but the pain in his soul can give him strength.

Personality: Rather shy, but under pressure he shows his true colors.

Brief Background: His family was killed by the Russians in the war and he wants revenge. His parents were en route to Russia on a diplomatic meeting (they were ambassadors for the Greek people) and were thought to have been assasinated by the Russians.

Other Information: He carries a short knife on his side.

AK47 aren't even produced nowadays, let alone in the future. The knife is fine, and people are still free to join. I'm getting back into after DvP Infiltration finishes up, so it's gonna be kinda inactive.

Also, try to have a last name, unless it's your character's pseudonym. Like Kaitos and Chronos are not their real names (my characters, that is). So try to have a last name, and in the IC topic, try to explain a bit more on the whole parents being killed (like why they were in Russia in the first place). Or start out there, but fill that in.

Finally, the Secret Word is wrong, but i really don't care. As long as you read the rules.

World News:

The Capital city on Ares has been invaded by Alien Forces. While resistance is holding back the onslaught, the city is expected to fall within a few months. Newly trained Ninja divisions are being sent in, and New Greece is sending elite forces to support the Aresians.

In other News, Japan has begun to break alliance with the SAA. War is expected among that area. Japan is being backed militarily by the ERC, but it has shown no sides of allying with any countries.

Ares colonies look like what, do you have an idea, or should we just make that up?

Class: Rogue
Age: Unknown, but looks in the mid fourties.
Appearance:

A few notes about the appearence. 1: I assume by now prosthetic limbs should be at the very least be capable of decent manueverability, but if not, tell me. His left hand is a metallic prosthetic. His gun is a .45 magnum. And yes, those are blood stains. Obviously, he won't always stay in that outfit (that's kind of stupid), but that's what I'm intending he starts out as.

Personality: Clever and quick thinking, though sometimes quite rash, his age doesn't seem to stop him from doing child-like things. Mysterious, however, due to suffering amnesia, and keeps mostly quiet, confused about his enviroment which quite obviously isn't Earth. He thinks he could be going insane.

Brief Background: Although he doesn't remember it, and neither do most people who know him (as there are no people that personally know him now), he used to live on Earth as a child in Russia (thus his current name, Seriy, meaning Gray in Russian). His parents were against the ERC's creation, and thus were outcasted, soon becoming members of the Aresian Colonists. His life on Ares was mostly uneventful, working in food production. He had, however, developped a gambling problem, and due to a series of unpaid debts, he was forced into an illigal slavery with a certain crime lord (tell me if it's impossible). Suffering terrible abuses at the hands of his "master" he recieved many of the scars he had.
Him and several other slaves that the crime lord had obtained eventually arose to free themselves, and Seriy was injured by one of the guards, losing his eye, arm, and recieving serious brain damage that caused him to forget much of his previous life. He was nurced back to health in a hospital after being brought in by a former fellow slave right after the revolt. The details are unknown, but he was kept on lifesupport for several years in a coma, until he suddenly came to just as the hospital was being overrun by the Alien Menace. After several misadventures with other survivors, he is left to fend by himself and try to find others who are fighting them. He heads for the capital only to find...

Other Information: Obviously an amnesiac, he doesn't remember many things about himself except his two languages, English and Russian. He doesn't have many friends partly to being enslaved for several years, and in a coma for a decade or so.

Your guy is approved. I didn't really have much in mind when thinking of Ares, this is really just the introductory RP. So go ahead and design it yourself, but just remeber, use lots of curves.

I still don't see how Deadify ties into it all, but whatever.

The idea was that if you know the Secret Word you read all the rules that the first post had, and all of the guidelines in it.
If you scrolled past it, you wouldn't know the secret word.

XD I read the first post and everything, but I put Revenge as my secret word...I didn't realize I needed Deadify as it even though I saw that was what Chrono Soul had. Oops. Silly me.

Ah, Mars, alright I gotcha. O.o I thought it would've been a place in Russia (no idea why, but then again I always think everything is in Russia)...that kinda changes my plot now, but I shall adapt ^_^

Personally I think it would be more interesting if this RP wasn't totally...'real life-ish', since it's in the future and everything, so...yeah, but that's just my input.

The realism will only go as far as technology can take it. I'm tempted to put in alot of my ideas, but I was saving them for the sequel. Which is more interesting, but I'll need to put some in for the first.

This would make a better RTS game.

Erm, instead of waiting to put things in for the sequel why don't you finish the first one first...It might make things easier in the end...

One question: Are people able to live in space? Like space stations, space colonies, expendable space ships for civilian usage... Since this takes place in the future I'm tempted to assume yes, (and since there are aliens) but I just thought I'd ask first before I screw things up. Because if there is life in space, I don't think Michael shall really be on Earth anymore.

Just a kind note to you. I don't usually allow roleplays to restart. If it's a failure, too bad. Even for my own roleplays. Naruto was a special case, because the creator disappeared and all. I expect all roleplay creators to think carefully when they start the IC so that something like restarting the IC won't happen. I'll make an exception this time, since the IC is fairly short anyway, but don't make the mistake of thinking that it is normal.

Frankly speaking, I'm not even sure that 'restarting the IC' is allowed on other roleplay sites too.

Just a note for you Chrono Soul, I have completely re-done my intro for my character, so whenever you want to start the RP anew I shall be ready to post it. And my character pretty much will not have much interaction with anybody else unless someone really wants to be included in on my plot. Mine will end up depending on the World Updates, but I know what the general ending/plot for my character will be. I guess this could've been a PM too, but I guess I figured I'd just post this so you know that I'm waiting for you to start the IC thread^_^

Well, since there are changes...as I was typing my story part, I realized that mine has nothing to do with a war. My person is from New Greece and it mentions the war, but my person's story is more geared to his parents death. His parents were scientists sent to study fossils found on Ares in the year 2216 and they 'awakened' the three, which I've christened the Aarmon (from Christian demonology...erm, the name fits for what I have in mind...) So I'm wondering if the fact that my character wasn't directly partaking in the war was fine...Chrono Soul, if you want me to send you what I have so far so you can see if it qualifies as acceptable, I can do that.

Ah yes, I have one more question...Unknowingly I seem to have made these fossils turn from aliens to angels and there are five, four bad and one good...do you mind about that? (sorry if I'm asking too many questions...I just don't want to mess anything you had planned up. ^_^)

I was trying to let it die quietly. It failed pretty dismally, and there isn't enough people for me to care about keeping it going. So it's kinda dead, just takin up space.
