I live in the UK so it may be different in America, but Dragonball Z hasn't appeared on TV at ALL for about 6 months now! Has it been totally wiped off the TV?

You do know that the Z series finished like, years ago right? Have you heard of GT? It's a whole new series, that also finished years ago. Or do you mean there're simply not showing repeats anymore?

Dragonball appears in many different forms all around the world constantly. It hasn't been "canceled" in that sense. But the series DBZ was finished in 1996.

I mean the repeats, I mean GT and the original haven't been on too, but I don't like them much, I'm a DBZ fan. I know the series finished but I just wanted them to repeat it over and over lol i never watched all the episodes
its just gone now, never shows

Well you have to take that up with your local TV network that airs Dragonball. It's up to them what they want to air, and it's a completely different situation in other countries, so no one here can really answer that question for you.

I haven't seen it on cartoon network in awhile myself... I wouldn't be surprised if it's still on and I've just missed it, but I also wouldn't be surprised if they've finally taken it off the air. They used to air DBZ and DB:GT like madmen.
Probably the same for the rest of the world I'm sure. It's just kinda overstayed its welcome and no one is currently airing the re-runs. I'm sure within a year or two it'll show up again in cartoon network's rotation or something.

With the rating CN is getting lately, don't be too surprised that they took it off.
I haven't watched CN is aaages because it doesn't have any of the good stuff on anymore. DBZ sucked dubbed anyways, I think they pretty much stopped airing DBZ here after GT was a flop and they couldn't get it back up again with repeats all the time.
It'll most likely pop up again after a year or two, like TED said. Alot of channels airing animes tend to do that, they had Escaflowne on Fox Kids and then it disappeared as did Sailor moon. If you want to find other anime you should look it out on Google or a TV guide. Took me a while to find out they had Evangelion and Nadesico on Sci-fi =/

I do remember they had this Un-cut DBZ running on CN around last year. Of course, I don't believe it's still going. DBZ being filter out since CN been bringing in more terribe anime series like Trinity Blood.

DB was fun, DBZ was decent at the start, then just got plain silly. Nothing much good to say about Trinity Blood except it's eye candy to the very end. Despite popular opinion, DB series wasn't that bad. Trinity Blood was just another generic action anime when it came out, a bad one with terrible plot holes that never get explained. Remember to consider the time these animes were released.

DBZ was just always the same to me.
"Oh snap Goku, time to save the earth dog!"
"Oh noz Guju! [insert villian] is gathering the dragonballs!"
And that's all I got out of the series, Dragonball on the other hand, was funny.

That combined with the fact that it had a very sucky concept. At least from my point of view.
When you have lots of beings who can destroy planets, why the hell do you even bother to fight?
And the whole bringing people back to life was treated WAYYYYYY to lightly. Goku died about 400 times.
Athrun
Dec 17 2006, 08:25 PM
Lol, he died twice. That's one more time than a normal person. =p

Most animes series that run as long as Dragon Ball series tend to seem repetitive. Bleach and Naruto aren't different from Dragon Ball.
1. Train to get stronger.
2. The villian(s) make their slow progess to the protagonist(s).
3. They fight, the protagonist(s), with their new found power, win.
It might differ, but the general concept for these anime series that are long, tend to become repetitive. Though, we will still watch them even though we are aware of the repetitve nature of these type of series.

What? That's just how would be.
All three anime revolve around fighting.
How else do they increase in power?
There's a couple of possible romance going in Naruto and Bleach, nothing much to deal with the plot. Sakura and Sakuke? That's one sided affection. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy both series, but I can't ignore what they are. Another extended Shounen series with a lot of training.

I like Naruto, but it does kinda focus alot more on power rather than intellect. Cept some of the filler matches (anything not about the three main characters)
Like that one. I forget the kids name....not Hiroshimaru (forgive my spelling). Christ is that even from the right show?

In a sense, Bleach does it quite more, but that's not a huge deal since both follow the path "We must train!" whether it's the 3 year gap period and Naruto's training current training with Kakashi or Ichigo and company training with people until Aizen's assault. It's hard to compare fillers since Bleach got an actual storyline to their filler while Naruto been nothing, but random episodes with Naruto beating the main villian at the end of the short 2-10 filler episode series. Naruto does not mainly focus on Naruto that badly like they do in the fillers, in the actual anime, everyone fights and even win their fight without Naruto getting involved.
You're likely thinking of Shikamaru. Lol, Naruto just been throw in your face. If you were reading the manga for both Bleach or Naruto, you know they follow the "We must train!" path.
Nani?
Dec 20 2006, 07:57 PM
Alot of shows do that. That's why i prefer Ghost in a Shell (which i finished all the recorded episodes on monday). There's no training, its just one big storyline. And whatever "filler" episodes actually contribute something.
Yeah, shikamaru is the one I was thinking of. Isn't Hiroshimaru from Inuyasha? No, that's Hakudoshi.
And excuse my spelling on all of these, I type em as they sound.

I think it's still on. As of 11:30 US central time on a friday, Cartoon Network is airing it.
Don't know how constant that is, but I'll check again next week to be sure.

AHAHAHAHAHAA!!!

That's one awesome way to describe DBZ's PROLONGED/PROCRASTINATED episodes. The best one being when Goku's going SSJ. That took like 3 episodes of raging anger just to get bigger, get spiky blonde hair and with a pee colored aura sorrounding him.
But I liked DBZ

up until the fight Videl had with those dudes, then I skipped that scene cause it was too brutal, and then watched Majin Vegeta OMGKAMEKAZE Buu all for nothing.

I liked DBZ. I never really watched it (I don't have cable), but my cousins were obsessed with it. I liked Gohan until he turned into a nerd and got glasses. And Trunks was cool. I saw a few of the early episodes and didn't think it was that bad, but then as years passed, it slowly devolved in my eyes to a bad series...I liked it's early days though.
