No idea if this has already been posted.

Around November, rumors had it that a new Kingdom Hearts game could happen, at least if Disney were to decide. Today, Tetsuja Nomura, the man behind the game, confirmed that it was to be so, and that a Kingdom Hearts III is to be released sometime in the future. According to him, the title will be presented sometime in the middle of next year, so details aren't to be expected until summertimes, I guess.

And it probably has to do with the three armored keyblade wielding characters that appeared in the Secret Ending of KH2? I heard of it. And it seems that Sora, Kairi and Riku may not be the main chars (or even just characters). There's a screenie of a blue-eyed armored dude with a half-destroyed helmet somewhere.
Twilight Guardian
yes, I heard that if there was to be a sequel, that those three would not be reappearing. the stories would follow a new set of characters. a bit disappointing since they were really good people. but I suppose their story came to an end.
Apple
Lols, I kind of figured this when I watched the secret ending. I doubt they'd have something there just for the sake of making it pretty. And the whole armored keyblade thing is interesting.

I can feel the fangirls preparing to scream already.
Vilagen
I was kind of figuring that it was coming and I also was guessing that Sora would not be the main character this coming around. His story and his friend's are over, no need to continue it. Though I would be a bit surprised if Sora and the rest never even show up since I was kind of figuring that they would still play parts of the story. I would be a dissapointed if they never showed up at all, but oh well.

Anyway, I liked the first two, so I guess I'll find myself playing through the third one sometime in the future.

I think that this is an awful decision. Those three are the main characters of the RPG. I think Kingdom Hearts should move more away from Disney and more toward RPG.

I remember playing through Kingdom Hearts 2, thinking "This game's script was written for a 10 year old".

It was the corniest thing I've ever heard in a video game. Goofy and Donald are ridiculous. And I think it COMPLETELY took away from Sora, Roxas, the badass Unknowns, Ansem, and Riku. If it went more toward action RPG i think it'd be even MORE of a success

Totally agree. Not that the Disney stuff really bothered me, but some times it got a little ridiculous, as you said like with Donald, Goofy, and Mickey. Square, with future Kingdom Hearts titles or even KH3, should definetly stray away from the "Disney" aspect of the series. Although that is kind of what the series is known for, I don't think it would hurt the series as a whole. Also, I really hope that KH3 is released on the PS2 or another system (anything but the PS3), although that is highly unlikely.

A sequel to a popular and well selling game?

WELL I NEVER!!

Especially the Little Mermaid 'level'. I watched my sister play it and I thought it was...pathetic. Even my sister said she was slightly embarrassed for the creators of the game to have even put that place in the game. So I pretty much agree that they should stray just a *bit* from the Disney aspect.

I'm looking forward to KH3, but my sister said KH2 was loads easier than the first, so I hope it's more challanging...But I agree with Ocelot: I hope KH3 won't be for PS3...

As opposed to all the disney films written for adults... It's a disney game, what do you expect? Everyone keeps going on about this game having "Dark Themes" but I personally think the creators are being stopped from letting their wings spread. If this game had not had the affiliations with Disney then I can see the Storyline being much more interesting but it just falls a little short in my opinion.

Exclusive KH3 Pictures (You saw them here first)

buleboy
hm yea the 3 masked unknown keybladers... uh well they do hold some kind of resembance to sora and all i mean the keyblades they were holding well it was as if they are sora and his friends they held the keyblade main that was given to them...

moving toward Disney well it would work as the secet vid well it lookd as if a diffrent time period and it might juz move away from the kiddish graphics into a more normal/future RPG

Nono, I might have said it wrong. I know the game is also meant for little kids. BUT, the plotline got especially boring.

In Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 when you go to a Disney World, you're basically just replaying the plotline of the movie. It was more Disney than anything. The worlds were mostly disney, and the main characters were disney. Not that that's wrong, but it was SOOOO much. I mean, if there was 90% Disney there was 10% Final Fantasy lol.

And when I say the script, I mean they said some REALLY corny stuff. Like, stuff Barney and Dora the Explorer say.

But here's the thing: It's not like waht they're saying is bad. They're talking about true friendship, love, things from the heart, which is nice, and what the game was about

But when DONALD and GOOFY and MICKEY MOUSE say it, it sounds so childish. And even Sora, his voice acting wasn't good at all haha

I think it was the kind of thing where it's like, it's not what you say, it's how you say it lol

Like, here's and example:

Pooh: Well, I won't be sad, because you'll always be right here forever andever.
(He touches his heart)
Pooh: Right, Sora?
(Sora looks around at everyone)
Sora: And all of you...are right here, too.
(Pooh smiles)

Like, that's sweet. Except it's Winnie the Pooh. Something about it just irks me.

Sebastian: Hey, we got us a concert very soon. Why don't you sing in my musical
extravaganza? Please say yes! Ariel's been actin' strange lately. But she might
settle down and practice if you're dere, too.
Donald: That sounds fun!
Sora: Let's give it a shot!
Sebastian: Excellent! Now den, I teach you everything you need.
Sora: Er, what do we have to do?
Sebastian: It's easy! All you gotta do is feel de rhythm! Hear de beat and put
a little shake in it! Ready? Let's go!
(Sora dances for a little bit, then spins around with his arms outstretched and a smile on his face)
Sebastian: Dat's it! Okay, Donald. Your turn. You do it just like Sora. Den he
see what you got.
(Donald dances and spins around, with his arm outstretched)
Sebastian: Dat's it! Goofy, it's you, now. You think you can do better?
(Goofy also dances as much a turtle can dance, and spins around happily)
Sebastian: Dat's it! Dis time you gonna dance with Ariel! Remember, don't miss
de beat!
(Sora dances with Ariel, who spins around him. They both pose)

See.. this is REALLY flaming right there lol

Mickey: Sora, Donald, Goofy. I was plannin' to go get help from Ansem the Wise.
But---now I know I forgot the most important thing. Helping others should
always come before asking others for help. We're safe and sound---and free to
choose! So there's no reason we shouldn't choose to help our friends.
(Donald and Goofy nod)
Mickey: Let's look for Riku and Kairi together.

Like, this line right here?? It's really not that bad in words. But when Mickey Mouse says it in his high pitched voice to Donald and Goofy, it's just, weird lol
Bomb
I'll confirm KH3 for you right here and now. You heard it here first.
silver
well let's see move around sleep, work, school, ffxII, Suikoden, and let's see there should be just enough room for kh3, but let''s not get to rallied up. Just making room in my schedule for kh3, if it ever comes out...
buleboy
well KH plotline is good and all it has the RPG type of plot but yea the char. are pretty childish but it was made by Diney and its an RPG that everyone can play and yea it is corny the things they say and sometimes ill admit that they should move more away from the childish chars. but overall it is a good RPG and u cant take that away from the game

Dunno if someone said this already, but it might be Roxas' friends. There are three, 2 guys and 1 girl, and one has blue hair...At least that's what my sister and I thought. Just a mere speculation that most probably were thinking already...
Master Alex
I would have to say, that they are the 3 first keyblade masters, and that, that trailer is before kindom hears 1 and 2. That supposed to be the keyblade war or something, so it's possible that was an explanation of what the keyblade war is, and that know it shall begging again
Zanian
Aye, we know.
...
But we didn't in january tongue.gif Please don't revive such old irrelevant topics. Let them R.I.P.

Okay so if KH3 is a whole new cast would that really be the end of the world? I mean look at what series have had different characters in every new installment. (Final Fantasy, anyone?) And well look at who is also making it besides Disney....Square-Enix! Though Disney does love to beat the hell out of popular movies by making sequels that you didn't need. (Little Mermaid 2!)

Though...even as I have said that I read the other day that Disney is not going to be doing those straight to DVD sequels anymore (there last one is Little Mermaid 3 and some tinker bell movie but they say that that is a spin off!). And we have another FF coming out.

KH3 will happen, just look at the history of the two who created the series and well the ending movie does say a lot. (Ending of FFX, anyone?) I'm looking forward to it even if nothing is set in stone yet.

Hahaha, yeah like Bambi 2, Alladin 2, Lion King 4, etc. Like we really needed those sequels, especially if they somehow take away from the magic of the original by showing the characters in various questionable situations.

Anyway I think they already confirmed that Sora and Riku would be in KH 3, but not what their role would be. Seems like there will likely be a new cast of main characters next time though, and probably ones that will stay as main characters throughout the games. (Not like Roxas)
Manc
Unless it has something storywise that have alot to do with Sora, Kairi and Riku! new main characters will just lose all that is good about KH!

I wished (while having Disney-worlds give a great variation) Square should cut down on Disney-theme and add more FF-theme, like balamb-garden as a world, that would work!

I didn't think Atlantis in KH2 where that bad, it was a fun variation to the game!
LagunaWannabe
So I heard in future KH games Sephiroth will not appear anymore, but Seymour Guado will instead?? I dont know, I saw it on Wikipedia so I can't say it's a trustworhty statement, I jsut think that Seymour is an odd choice.
