I like the cartoons in the 90s more then the ones the got out now.
like x-men, spriderman, and batman are classic cartoons that will go down in history compared to some of the cartoons they show on t.v, even some the anime is better back in the day

so what do yall think is better
Voyou San
im all for the old school ones where you had stuff like Transformers, GI Joe, M.A.S.K. and many others.. plus you look at like Transformers then and now, its terrible now.. much better stuff when i was younga
The Evil Dead
Dude I've said it before and I'll say it again... The cartoons from the early 90's were the golden age of cartoons. Saturday morning cartoons were a norm on network TV.

Cartoons like X-Men, Captain N And the Nintendo Team ( Or whatever the hell it's called ) was on... The Mario Brothers Cartoon, Mega Man, and even the Zelda cartoon... Ghostbusters... TMNT... Ren and Stimpy, SWAT Kats, Pirates of Dark Water and too many more awesome cartoons to name were on.

Also deserving it's own individual mention is the Sonic the Hedgehog ABC cartoon. Not only were the plots good, but so was the voice acting ( THANKS URKEL! ) and Sonic was never better. Thanks to the cartoon it opened up a new universe for Sonic the Hedgehog ( Introducing new characters who don't suck, unlike the games ) and has spawned an awesome comic book series from Archie that is still around today.

I have issues 0-60 and numerous super specials from the comic book series... Not only did they progressively move on with the storyline and character development, it's a rather successful comic. I recommend checking it out because the storylines are a bit more matured as the audience who grew up with the series mostly still reads. I get a few issues when I can but I definitely just need to subscribe... I believe they're on like issue 140 right now or something.

Sorry for the ramble, but the Sonic the Hedgehog ABC TV show and Archie Comic Book series were amazing and are one thing I miss from the 90's.

Anyway... Nowadays most of the cartoons are a joke. I don't think they even have a saturday morning cartoon deal on regular network TV anymore, and all of them just seem like weird random nonsense and they're definitely nothing I would have considered watching when I was younger.

I'm kinda bitter right now though because I'm trying to think of another cartoon I enjoyed immensely but I haven't listed it.

Gargoyles, X-men, Spiderman, Superman, Batman and many other shows in the 90's when I was younger were great. The only cartoon to come close to matching those shows lately been Justice League and that turned into junk when they kept adding hero after hero. Also, Batman and Superman from Justice League were the same from the Superman and Batman I watched. I watch Gargoyles still since it air on Jetix. The original Spiderman air on another channel.

Then there's Nick toons, which just went down during 00'. They're whore Spongebob, Jimmy Neutron and Fairy Odd Parents these days when they had a strong lineup before with many cool cartoons like Hey Arnold, Angry Beavers and Rocko. They began whoring of a certain series when they noticed people loved the Rugrats and whored that out.

There's other junk that aired when I was younger, I can't remember. I was mostly into the action cartoon.
SonicX_Zero
I seriously love the old ones as what TED and Eva already mentioned, just as much as I loved the old ones, can be said as how much I just can't get into the newer ones that are being shown today.

Also there's that Battletech cartoon which I think was cool with all those laser 3D effects and Dinosaucers! w00t
Soul Reaver
I remember Technoman being aired over here...it was this one kickass japanese anime, Can't remember the japanese name I looked it up once, but god damn it was awesome, was out in the early 90s and it was a cartoon I used to watch EVERY day before school.

I remember Ironman too tongue.gif
gelmar
I also love the older cartoons. This new ones are a nonsence.
I used to watch Tom and Jerry, The Loney Toons, Taz mania, The animaniacs, Dexter, Cow and Chicken. ( I know it's a little sick cartoon, but I still like it), and my favourites, the Frintstones. These cartoons had something special,an other feel, dunno how to describe it, but these newer ones lack that.
Oh, yes, I also watched Mask when I was a kid. He's nuts and awesome, lol.

About the action heroes cartoon: I never liked to watch them or to read about them in comics. Just not my type of cartoon or comic.

The DCAU was great, Batman for one is voiced by the same man in Batman TAS, Batman Beyond, and the JL(JLU) it is all writen by the same people sad there had to make way for cheep anime and other crap cartoons. Justice league is meant to be about a lot of heroes and they hardly centered it around that many off them, it was also far better than the Superman series witch was defiantly the worst of the lot (you have to love just for the Question and the fight between Captain Marvel and Superman). Though it has now come to an end pity as they made great shows even the superman one is better than most cartoons I see these days.

Gargoyles was awsome pity it never did as well as it deserved and the last season was made with out the real creator. I am confused about why the anit-gun episode was banned,it hardly seems like the craziest message I have seen in show.

Resently been rewaching some of Batman TAS a great show unlike The Batman that is just sad especially as it kept the Hamill Joker out of JL. I know some of it is growing old but it seems to be more than that.
Dragon Brigade
I loved the old cartoons WAY better. I've watched a few of the newer ones, and I definitely think they're not as good.... The older ones had more humor and were just more fun.

I agree that Gargoyle's was awesome. I used to watch TMNT also, and there were a few others, but these were great shows like others have already said^_^

Tekkaman Blade =)

90's cartoons are better, by far.
Things such as Samurai Pizza Cats, SWAT Cats, Transformers, Eek! The Cat, Spiderman, X-Men, The Centurions, The New Adventures of Johnny Quest, M.A.S.K., Thundercats, TMNT, 2 Stupid Dogs and Heathcliff, along with many others, like Spaceghost, Birdman, Captain Caveman etc etc.

Uhhh, 90's for sure.

I don't know what the hell the cartoons of today are smoking. Crack? THere's that new rewarped futuristic looney-tunes thing where the roadrunner and coyote actually TALK, which I think is messed, and then there's the weird Teen Titans show, and then there's those even weirder ones on Cartoon Network...

Just, no.

Soul Reaver
Yeah..todays cartoons are totally ##### degenerated garbage.
Dante2ndAdvent
Yeah, I used to love geting up at like 5am on a saturday to watch cartoons. I think thats why I sleep so late these days, the cartoons are just pure BS.
Flame
but the 90's didn't have spongebob Square pants! Which is why the 90's are blatently BETTER!

But in ten years time or so you'll see people saying "Cartoons just arn't as good now as in the 00's"... but in this case... it really is true... 90's cartoons were great...
Metonymy
Cartoons yesterday were just as stupid as they are today. I was just too stupid to realize it when I watched them.
Jerame
Yeah, I definately think that today's crop of cartoons are a joke too.

There's just too much of a goof factor with the more popular cartoons today. It seems like the serious soap-opera style epic drama cartoons are far and few. I mean, you had goof in the earlier 90's with Eek!, Ren and Stimpy, and maybe Booby's World; but you also had good n' rich character dramas like X-Men, Spiderman, and Pirates of the Dark Water.

The trend has surely gone the way of the Sponge Bob.
Bloo
Spongebob is ridiculous.

During the 90s, lots of cartoons pwns every cartoons now.

Ren and Stimpy, A true legend.

Rocko's Modern Life, Another funny one.

Sheep in the Big city, Nothing beats Oxymoron.

Tom and Jerry, Classic.

Animeniacs, Too bad they didn't show it anymore.

Pinky and the Brain, Do I have to say?

But now, they spoil Looney Toons with "The Loonatics" gross...

Bloo...
