I might be a complete SMT fanatic (I dont feel confident enough to call myself a tensenist) but i just dont do MMORPGs. I like my business transactions to end with me paying the dude at the store and taking the game home, this periodic payment ####### just doesnt go with me. I didnt hop in the Phantasy Star online boat and I dont think i will be getting on this one either.
I think it also has to do with me wanting my games to have a beginning and an end. I dont wanna spend countless hours doing whatever crap i can do without being able to reach a decent end. It can take 30 hours or 50 or even 200 hours, but it has to ##### end.
Also, this whole SMT online crap has already been tried, or at least thought about

Initially Shin Megami Tensei NINE was planned as an online title, but a "Standalone" version was initially released to satiate gamers until the online version was completed. Alas, the online version was cancelled because no one really owns an Xbox in Japan, so nothing came of it. It got into the "bestseller" line of games over in Japan, which means it must not have sold terribly, but you can pick it up online for around $10. This leads me to believe it must not have been too successful.

http://hg101.classicgaming.gamespy.com/megaten/megaten.htmI wonder how is PC gaming in japan, Korea's is decent, not to sure about japan. This could be a complete dud.
