Why would the damn Madden games EVER improve if they can just rehash last years game by either taking away previous improvements, or trying to add improvements that really don't improve? I guess if you need your football this is your game but I can't believe that like millions of copies of the exact same title sell each year.
I mean I like my FPS titles that are similar and all of that... But they're usually like a BIT different. The only thing that happens in these Madden games may be like a new pass interface, and new rosters and all of that crap.
Ah well... Go Joe Gamer.

I bet most of those buyers are those who started out on Madden'96(classic madden game there) and got hooked ever since. True that there is no difference between 06 and 07(06 only added the QB cam thing). Well TED, what can I say? Madden is THE FF7 of sports.

Dude I'll take Madden 96 on the Sega Genesis over Madden 07 ANY day. For sure.

I used to play that and some Hockey game on the genesis for hours with a good friend of mine waaaaay back in the day. I dunno why but sports games were somewhat enjoyable to me back then but I can't tolerate them at all anymore.

Yeah it's the same deal with the FIFA/Pro Evolution Soccer games. Most of my friends play PES, but it's the same thing every year, and they still sell in millions.

"I played Madden 07 yesterday and i was wondering whats the difference between this one and 06 other than the roster changes. Its
the same damn game the year before. Hell throw in some cheerleaders on field every once in a while. Leave it to EA to make me spend 50 bucks every year on the same thing with just a different cover. Just my 2 pennies.... "
I had to laugh at that. EA makes this dude buy their games? Wow.
I care so much about Madden, or any yearly sports game about as much as I care about where my toenail clippings end up.
Seriously, people, there's no need to buy these games every year, when all you really need to do is update the rosters yourself.

How exactly do you do this? Update your rooster???
I agree Madden is a rehash! It's really just the same concept, being reused. Alot of Football fans feel they have to go out and buy the latest edition which I find very annoying.

Can download the rosters now. This was made possible when I think 2002 came out for PS2. Before then all you could do was import rosters from NCAA games for your draft.

Of the millenium Maddens, 2001-2005 were excellent. Especially 2005. That game had everything you could want in a Madden game. I do not think Madden 97 sold very well, as that featured the salary cap which couldn't be turned off. Let's face it, we all play with salary cap off ;p.

They actually taking stuff OUT of the games now you know, and making you pay for them with microtransactions over Xbox Live. Want all the stadiums? Pony up.
It's absurd, you're paying $10 more for the game but getting less content than the previous gen versions. CRAZY!
EA, I love you and everything you've done for this industry.

the madden games just keep getting worse with each release.. only thing changing for the better is the updated rosters.. and thats it.. no improvements at all..

This is not true. It's the same system, but there are considerable upgrades. The way players can catch balls, the way players get tackled, how running back running styles are changed so things are more realistic.
And yes, updated rosters is a HUGE plus. As is graphics and user interface, as well as mini-game updates. It's not much, but it's nice tweaking. After playing a Madden game for a straight year, it's nice to get a new Madden with a couple LITTLe tweaks.

The considerable upgrades you stated are actually the slight upgrades. You pay 50 bucks each year for slight upgrades in catches, tackles and running style? Those sound like slight upgrades to me. If people are willing to pay 50 bucks for these upgrades, all the power ot them.

Updated rosters where maybe a improvment years ago, but all the consoles are online now, rosters should be upgraded for free and in real time over the web. Its not hard and should be free.
I agree with what Eva is saying, those are minor upgrades, its only every 3 years or so they actually do anything innovative or worthwhile for the gameplay.

EA has ran out of ideas. I suppose there is not much else for them to do beside 'update' rosters. The mainstream buyers however will not see this and in some ways this is a good thing.
