Have you ever been in a situation where you know it will be hard?

For example, controlling Ashley in RE4. Yea that wasn't fun at all.

Discuss.

many an RPG i've run out of healing items, i've depleted my MP, my party is on the verge of death, and escaping from the too-damned-frequent "random" encounters means i'll take a beating before i can actually escape and i'm just trying to get the hell outta the dungeon. Happened may times in Valkyrie Profile: Silmeria.

Whenever your dudeman gets locked up or captured or somethin', and you have NO items or weapons, and you gotta fight a bunch of people to get the stuff back. Hate that.
Dragon Brigade
Sometimes I'll be on a boss, and the place I'm at is so totally remote that there's no item shop nearby, so I'm left leveling my people up until they're stronger before I can beat a boss and hopefully get items. Happens quite a bit for me in Xenosaga Ep. 1...

And there was once in Legend of Dragoon where I had just beaten the Divine Dragon and I was SOOO close to the save point when a random battle popped up. My people were too weak and I didn't have a chance to use items, and I died. That was a bummer for me...I had to beat it three more times, because it froze on me once too after I beat it...I think that's it for the moment...

Shadows of the Colossus.

Battling a colossi on your piece of ##### horse? D8 No suhh, I don't work that.

But in general, I hate it when you're stuck in some longgg ass winded area full of monsters and you're a slight bit underleveled and its hard to find a savepoint. 8( I like savepoints. I don't like not having any.

Whoa Whoa whoa whoa hold on there miss Thang, Agro was the total tits in that game, that horse was awesome, dont badmouth him after all he has been through, I mean ##### other games, Agro brought me tears man.

Unwanted situations? Well, getting gangraped by a bunch of demons in DMC 3 Dante's Awakening, enough to made me stop playing the game, one thing is difficulty, that game was just cheap.

I hate running low on health an encountering some enemy that rips my ass wide open. Its ok if a boss leads me to a continue but one random enemy owning me? that just pisses me off. This happened to me a lot of times in Yakuza because the game system was clunky as hell and there is absolutely no targeting system so i was constantly fighting the wind while some guy shot at me with surprisingly perfect aim, I could be moving in zigzag and i could get shot, the hell?

Getting stuck, ugh, sometimes i am playing a game and cant get out of a situation for a while leading me to have to play the same part more than a couple times, by the 5th try i am angry, really angry. Right now i am on chapter 9 on SMT Devil Summoner and there is this goddamn Orochi enemy that not only cant get hurt by bullets but, like it appears to be normal on this goddamn game, exploiting its weakness doesnt do #####, it paralyzes it like 1/10 of the time, but whats worse, it has a bunch of stupid helpers that all they do is annoy me and it or the demons heal about 70 percent of its life from time to time. I swear to god i have been close to killing it when all of the sudden he gets healed completely. I have tried to kill him 3 times and nothing, by the 5th try i am going to be switching to FFXII and I dont want to because i really want to see how this game wraps up.

Small asian family? How much food can you people eat? a horse is a lot of meat dude, better eat individual cats every day.

And he is useful, the dude from SotC is slow as hell, Agro gets him to place, and didnt you fought that Colossus in the cave at the desert? Agro was its best there. The only thing that can hurt you in SotC is impatience, Agro was a huge help, more useful than the bow and arrow at least.

Every time you have to protect someone from dying.

Natalia in Goldeneye 007
Ashley in Resident Evil 4
Carrying Ken in Zone of Enders 2
Sniper covering Emma in MGS 2

and so on.. There are hundreds of examples I'm sure. But I almost always find these missions more frustrating than fun.

LOLS, if we're hungry enough we can pretty much wipe out a litter of dogs. Which could equal up to a horse. And we're ##### krzeee Raz don't underestimate the size of our appetites for wild animals.

He's useful in the fact that he can help kill some of those colossi, but he's soooooo hard to control. Even just riding out to the colossi I have trouble handling him. I think I had a better time looking for those things on foot hahahaha.

That wasnt as bad as on other games, I actually kinda liked that part but maybe thats just because I like sniping. On the other hand this reminds of one part after that which i really hate in games, when you try an replay a part of a game when you get a bad consequence but then find out that there wasnt any way for you to salvage the situation. Now that sucks and its really unwanted.

i hated how Argo controlled in that game. fighting that one colossus in the desert (where you had to deflate it's airsacs that ride Argo so you could jump on it's fin) was a pain in the ass.
Shadow of the Colossus didn't live up to the hype... ain't gonna play that game again.

heh, i've had my fair share of annoyances in Devil Summoner. climbing the tower of those Crystalus demons in the Dark Tower place, the hero gets nailled with Petrify and Ko'ed in one hit. there went all that progress. cry.gif

man, getting stuck sucks, I remember in Xenosaga (episode 1) I got stuck in the Cathedral ship while trying to fight that stupid Cherenkov Gnosis, it killed me so many times, I stopped playing for about half a year, and then I felt bad because I knew there was an amazing story in the game, so I spent like, 4 days trying to beat it, and I finally did, and I'm always afraid of getting stuck in a game because of that.

I dont know what you're talking about, this game was completely amazing, speaking of which, I want to replay this game agains sometime soon...

Trying to play Final Fantasy VII?

Just kidding.

Seriously though, I have to admit that stupid CPU bug me. I hate being in a situation where I have to control 4 characters during a fast pace battle, because my CPU allies are too stupid and get themselves killed in stupid manner. Happen in many Tales games, not just Abyss. There's been improvements, but they remain stupid and get killed by easily dodgable attacks by the enemy.
Pesmerga
Time based missions.

Oh how these things piss me off. I hate all of these missions, mainly because I like to take my time and not rush things. It is just that in almost every game there is a time based mission.

Or those moments where you lvl up a character and give him the best equipment and then he gets send on a mission and you get stuck with a low lvl character and no money to lvl that one up.

Carrying Ken in Zone of Enders 2

That's a total one foot stake stuck into one's bottom, right there. Or rather, trying to rescue her and her bloody machine from a crazy Viola AI. I hate that part of the game most. Oh, and fighting Viola AI over and over again.

Any of the Final Fantasy, where the entire party is confused, berserk, or petrified. >.<
Myra
I absolutely hate protecting people and if they die its game over. I never do well with those, I usually get to frustrated... especially Ashley in RE4.. even though she just gets taken away.. still annoying.

Also in some series you have the same antagonist... example, Zelda, its always Ganon or Ganondorf. That really made me angry, especially in Wind Waker where at the end it was like 'Oh it was really Ganon all along!' Bah..
AncientGuardian
- The lemings on the old snes, I remember when I was little I never could get those little lemmings to listen to me and run not in the canyon or not falling in depth. Damn that was a irritating game smile.gif

- Ninja turtles on the snes where you had to go up a ladder but above you where like 5 enemys so you only could hit them with donatello's stick or else you died every time
Red_ryaN
yea FFX in those dungeon thingys with the orbs. i HATED them and was never looking forward to them...

and for runescape when i have to do a REALLY long quest, which has like 50 other quest requirements.. i hate quests
