Nani?
I hope this is allowed here. I doubt that it's not.

Anyway, I need programmers. I have a great idea (i'm not stupid enough to give out the specifics), and since I can't program for my life, I need help. Not asking you to work full time (unless you can, it would be nice), but if you can, just post here. If I don't get enough (maybe like, 5 or whatever), I really can't do it.

Anyway, I know it's general, I apologize, but I don't want to leak information.

But, I'll give you a hint, justifying this position in gaming: It's a game that uses a new engine for more realism, better graphics, movement, etc.

Anyway, come if you can, but if you can't dedicate enough time (try once a week minimum please), then don't sign up.

Madden 08?
Nani?
I should have added that it's NOT something to make a naked Madden roll around in more money.

Nor does it have anything to do with Sports....at all.

Oh just come on!

Is it some sort of board game inspired by John Grisham's novels?
Nani?
WILL YOU STOP TRYING TO GUESS IT AND JUST TELL ME IF YOU CAN PROGRAM OR NOT

But I think I got it this time. I believe its like Bionic Commando meets Parappa the Rapper.

Am I right? I am right.

Ok Raz, stop rolling the poor guy.

No, Raz has no programing skills. In fact, he has no skills at all.
Nani?
GOD ##### DAMN I JUST WANT SOME PROGRAMMERS FOR A GAME!!!!

CHIRST HOW HARD IS IT TO FIND PROGRAMMERS ON A SITE WITH HALF OF IT DEDICATED TO GAMING!!!

GAMING!!!!!!

*goes to hit head...or drink...whatever*
Athrun
Most of us just play games, we don't program them. I don't know anyone here who can do that except maybe Adelaine (who no longer comes here) and Lunar Master perhaps? I'm not sure, but I think he made some simple flash games at least.

You must have money, lots of money, lots and lots and lots of money. Much more than a more than likely 15 year old has.

And my guess is, your idea isn't all that grand.
Athrun
If you pay me a few millions, I can get you Sony to produce a game for you. I'm close friends with them. Really. Rumor has it that I have my head up Kaz's ass. (That's a direct quote)

My guess is that you think you have this great idea, but that alone will not make happen. What you have to do is think small. You haven't even stated what program or programs you're using to create this said game. Get your priorities straight before you start asking for help on something that is nothing more than a thought of yours.

I am currently trying to get a team going an a semi flash RPG project, but I still think the scope is bigger than it first seemed. It's incredibly hard to not only find people, but to also find extremly dedicated people. I've only come across a couple of people that dedicated and we all tend to just about kill each other right before the project is finished (and most of the time it is never finished). Create a design doc first and then send it out to your gathered team. You have to also realized that you will have to take on biggest/hardest part in the creation of the game because it is your idea after all.

The hardest part of working on a project is not the work itself (although it can be difficult at times), but making the team work together. It might not seem like much, but everyone has an idea of what the project is and it always conflicts in some shape or form. Having a good project leader and a well prepared strategy is the key to a succesful project that doesn't just fall flat in it's face after it's first few weeks of creation.

Good luck to ya.

Why you'd look for programmers on this board is beyond me man.

Especially at the level I think you're trying to go for. Developing a game engine that doesn't suck takes tons of work and a really dedicated team of people who know their stuff when it comes to coding. I don't think a board full of a bunch of RPG playing geeks such as myself is the best of places to start putting together a crew capable of coding a decent working title.
Noir
Just like, take your idea, and make it a text based game. lol
I can point you to like 20 people who know PHP, but yeah.

....post count +1

Actually my neighbour was in charge of the facial animations for a game called Headhunter 2. (This time I'm not joking) But I have no contact with him since he moved away around 1 year ago. I ran into him once but forgot to take his number.

I had an idea for it, and a plan, but i didn't decide to put energy into it before i could get programmers.

Anyway, I'm putting together a small production site, where people can collaborate together to make simple games, and larger projects. It spawned from this idea.

And I do think this was a grand idea. Very grand, and very thought out.

I'll box it up in my mind for things to do later. Meanwhile, I'll welcome anyone here with a similar dream, from game development, to comic development, to flash shows, to come to Kamikaze Productions.

I'll post the link soon (it's gonna be a proboards site, cause I'm a lazy bastard who can't write PHP at all....)

Here's the link. I'll have to review you to sign up.....don't want any weasels....

So what kind of games are you planning on making? Do you need people for like the story of the game? Or do you just need people that know how to...I dunno, 'make the game work'. If you want someone to help with storylines, I could try helping, though I don't know if that's what you're looking for...
Nani?
You mean the site? Cause the game this started out as is canceled (if something in the future can be canceled).

The site is based on socialism, each according to his ability, each according to his need. I'm trying to get a bunch of people together for various creative things, and then everyone helps out to the best of their abilities. It's a mutual benefit thing, you help someone, they help you.

Dick. FYI, back in my last few years of High School I was heading off to a promising system engineering future but then I found out there are some physics involved in the career and around that time i was pretty damn close to fail physics so i decided to become a liar, i mean lawyer.

WTF? Socialism shmueshailism. I summon thee Capt, handle this #####.

Captain America, making the world safe for democracy.

PS: So does the game involved some sort of flying saucer and a depressed cat, because I can clearly see that working out quite well using the Madden engine and basing it around the first Castlevania sighting.
Nani?
Actually, it was based around some characters you see here, a genetics factory (sounds like F.E.A.R.), and a space station that defies space and time.

It had an interesting storyline.

Might be interesting to you but it already sounds like a poor idea to me. Fact is if you lack the drive or talent to get things going your self nothing will happen. No one is going to help some one for no good reason especially when they could get a job some where that pays money.
Nani?
I'm 15. If I COULD fund this, and drive it myself, or program, I would. Until I can, I'm boxing my ideas.
