Anyone following the new season it just started Sunday and I have to say this season seems to be just as impressive as before. I just finished watching hour 4 and just wow! Jack shot Curtis didn't see that coming. I'm assuming Curtis died because it looked like Jack shot him in the neck. A nuclear bomb is detonated in Los Angeles, holy #####! I just watched Season 5 so I guess I'm a 24 newbie because so far season 6 rocks. O yeah and Kumar is a terrorist, I knew it!

Firstly, thanks for starting this thread. Long time fan of the series, and yeah, I enjoyed the premiere quite well actually. They really wasted no time in getting into the story and introducing the threat. Curtis is in fact dead, and Ahmed died en route to the hospital.

Maybe Season 6 is following the same trend as Season 5 by killing off supporting characters in the previous season. So far we have Curtis dead and maybe Chloe next? Since Chloe is like the only original cast member left I think. I haven't watched Season 1, 2, 3, or 4 so I maybe wrong. Does anyone here think that Season 6 maybe the last season of 24 besides the movie?
Athrun
You've only watched Season 5? Well then you wouldn't be too familiar with Jack's relationship to most of the other cast members. Although I think as you said, Chloe seems to be the last one left from the first season, along with Kim. (Unless something happened to her in Season 5. I didn't watch the last few episodes.)
I'll probably watch Season 6 when it starts airing here later.
Lost Seraphim
Yeah Paul, if you have any questions pertaining to previous seasons, feel free to ask. I'd be more than happy to answer. Atty, you make a good point with Chloe. Fox hinted at her possible death sometime within this season. She's my favorite character, and as much as I hope that it's not true, there's always the chance. They've proven that they're not afraid to kill off main cast members, with Jack being the exception. Just to clarify, Kim came in during Day 1, Chloe didn't appear until Day 3. When I went back and started watching the series from the beginning, I thought Chloe was an original cast member myself, but she didn't come aboard until Season 3.
Athrun
I thought I remembered Chloe coming in on day one to replace that other girl who had the same position as her. The one Jack was told to be "the only one he could trust". I think maybe that's why I mixed them up or something. And I didn't watch Season 2, so maybe that's all the more reason why it feels like I've seen Chloe ever since the beginning.
Lost Seraphim
Ah yeah, I know what you're talking about. Jamey Farrell was the only female security specialist in Day One that I can remember. After she's killed off though, no one is hired to replace her. The only other female that Jack truly trusts during Day One is Nina, but you come to find that she was the one who killed of Jamey, and that Jamey's death wasn't actually a suicide as it was originally covered up to be.

Jack is back!

Just like they did in season 5, I thought the explination for Jacks return would be quick, deadly, and unplausable. (inplausbale?)

Though Jack is back, but somehow it doesnt quite feel right without certain cast. Still, Bauer is the star here and as long as there is plenty of explosions, torture and of course ticking clocks, I will be satisfied.

I've seen up to episode 4, I dont think episode 5 is out for a while yet. Boo.

Yes, we all need a weekly dose of explosions, torture, and ticking clocks. Here in the US, episode 5 will be next week, Monday, right after Prisonbreak. Jack Bauer was soft the first 4 episodes, but I'm sure things will change right after that nuclear bomb exploded.

Just a poll that I saw on the 24 homepage that made me laugh.

What other terrorist body part do you think Jack Bauer could easily bite off?
-Ear
-Nose
-Pinky Toe
-Nuclear Bomb Trigger Finger

The poll needs an all of the above.

I think you'd probably have a better idea of that than people who don't live in the UK. Not like they usually keep track of release dates in other countries. wink.gif
Check with your local tv network that aired the previous seasons.

ROFLMAO

In anycase yes the sixth(? or fifth I totally lost track) season has indeed come to a start, and an explosive start to that. Yet, what happened to the Jack Bauer we learned to love? He's now crying more than he did in season 5, and he completely lost his composure. What did they do to him in that Chinese Prison?
Rubedo
Possibly the usual torture routine: whip lashes (shown on his back), water torture, strung by scorpions, tap dancing on glass, the rack, and/or maybe possibly with the way he's behaving: f'ed in the ass. Maybe with the nuclear explosion that he'll be not so withdrawn that he'll unleash his fury by ripping heads off.

Oh yea, they are coming up with a spin-off call "The Rookie". So Fox's got it's hands full.
The Hero of Time
To answer spikeJR, Bauer returns in season 6 of 24 on Sky One.

The first episode should have aired already, else it will do soon. Sky One is only a few weeks behind the original airing of the show in the US, not months or even years like usually happens here.

Dont expect it on BBC2 untill at least...I dunno, 2010? laugh.gif to my knowledge season 5 hasn't even been shown on terrestrial tv yet, so dont hold your breath for season 6 coming to terrestrial tv for quite some time. sad.gif

I haven't watched any episodes of 24, but I've seen the previews and whatnot on tv during football season. It looks to be pretty good, but I don't think I'll ever get around to watching it, as I'd probably be the only one in my family even interested in seeing it XD

Ain't this a lame sort of surpised. Not only does Logan's puppetter comes back, but it ends up being Jack's brother. His ##### brother. Now what, him and his dad is pulling off another terrorist attack like they did the seperatists in Day 5?

Yeah, didn't see that coming and I didn't even know Jack had any family, it was a more of a surprise that his dad is actually alive. I can't believe that guy is his brother, he is such a wimp compared to Jack. I don't remember seeing Jacks father in season 5 or even a mention, but Jack's dad is up to something whether it is good or bad not sure especially from the preview.

I think it is now safe to say that Jack's family is crazy, and one that's not very nice. Well, from the preview, it seems that everyone is just up to no good.

Found the spin-off, well...the official site.
