Do you listen to a certain artist or genre when you are doing certain tasks? Listen to certain artists at a certain time of the day? Do you listen to a certain genre or artist based on your mood?
Music revolves around my scedule. In the morning I listen to The Killers, songs from "Hot Fuss" or "Sam's Town". While doing assignments for classes and such, I like to listen to Do Make Say Think, from either album of "Goodbye Enemy Airship The Landlord Is Dead," or "Winter Hymn, Country Hymn, Secret Hymn." Radiohead's "Ok Computer" gets me to sleep at night. Whatever artists that are left over are just randomly played throughout the morning/afternoon/night.
So, how about you folks?

For me, I suppose it's mood-based, to a degree. Otherwise, the only particular time that I listen to a certain type of music is during naps and when I hit the hay for the night. I generally listen to whatever sort of calm stuff I've got on my computer, ranging from Asche & Spencer's "Leon Sees" (Stay OST) to 7 Angels 7 Plagues' "Jhazmyne's Lullaby" to Ludovico Einaudi's "Nuvole Bianche" to Naoki Sato's "The Promised Land" (Eureka Seven OST)... God, the list goes on and on. I've even got two tracks of, like, natural sounds. Rainfall of a thunderstorm and such. Heh. Whatever I find relaxing, though even my sleep playlist changes regularly.

When I'm studying I tend to go for songs that are acoustic, just because I find I can chill out and actually get down to work than I do if I worked while listening to fast paced, loud songs. Lately, I've just been listening to alot of YUI's stuff xP since I'm trying to study my ass off for my exams x.x.
When Photoshopping, usually J-pop or J-Rock since I feel I can get into mind set doing groovy stuff with groovy music xD. Other stuff, usually any other general genres that's on my computer or in my Hi-fi system.

The choice of music I listen to depends on my mood. When I go to school in the morning, I usually listen to some fast paced and loud songs to wake me up XD
If it's a rainy weather, or I'm sad I listen to slow or sentimental music.

Before I go to sleep I listen to Ed Gein for a bit, I don't know how but it makes me tired.
Oh and friday nights when I wear a red dress and strut my stuff on the corner I like to listen to Kenny G.

When I study I try to find music without lyrics but at the same time does have much of a presense behind it. I can't study in silence but some music can just plain distract me. The best band I've found is "Do Say Make Think" (thanks to vins again). I always listen to them when I study and they are a brilliant band to listen to when your reading as well (Especially the novel of Battle Royale for some reason)...
When I go out and I'm approaching my destination I have to listen to a really upbeat song. Often I put on something Jazzy like Pe'z or something with more of a dance feel to it, like The Prodigy or Fat Boy Slim's "It's a wonderful night". There are also some Remixes that work really well... I find it puts me in a good mood.

I don't really listen to a certain music during different times of the day, but when I have a song stuck in my head I listen to it on my MP3 player and it goes away.

For me, usually my main choice is Nightwish (since it's in my discman and I'm too lazy to get something else...not that I have much else to speak of...). At times when I draw stuff I pull out some of my old cd's and listen to those, when I write stories I listen to VGM and movie soundtracks...so yeah, that's me in a nutshell I suppose. I'll listen to anything anytime really...

Depending on what I'm doing or my mood, I listen to different genres. But I'm normally shuffling through my list since I'm too lazy to make yet another playlist.
When I'm working on school work or reading, I prefer to listen to more soothing songs like ballads or accoustics. Frankly, louder and upbeat tend to get me distracted.
However, I'll plunder straight into pop-ish and rockier tunes when I'm working on something in Photoshop. They can be pretty inspirational and get you into a creative mood.
And when it comes to my mood, I usually try to listen to happy and upbeat songs (that kind of make you want to get up and dance to), unless I'm in a bad mood. Then I go for all my heavier rock songs. XDD (Not too heavy, of course. I don't like it when my music is screaming at me)

Nope, I am totally random. I could be listening Prodigy after some Queen and then Guns n Roses.

No pattern.
I LISTEN TO WHAT I WANT
WHATEVAHSSS.

But seriously. No pattern. If I were to put it into any sort of pattern, it's probably just that I listen to my newer songs more repeatedly than my older songs. And that's about it. 8)

Every day it's all rap.
But when I'm at home, I try to listen to at least 30 mins of white people music a day. So I'll tear up some Black Dhalia Murder, The Shins, and then some Zero7.
After that, it's back to my Lil Flip and whatnot. xD

Can't really say I have a pattern. I just open up winamp whenever I'm on my comp and let it spin on random. I've over 500 albums on my computer so I usually get a pretty wide variety of the music I listen to every day... There will be some occasions where I get a song or album stuck in my head, but I certainly don't listen to particular tunes in any sort of pattern.

I really don't have a pattern either, but sometimes depending on what I am doing or if I am in a specific mood, I will choose something to fit that task or mood. Usually that means just different types of metal, but I also throw in some different stuff when im blazing that just puts you in a good mood.

I listen to a wide range of music, but I'll usually listen to alot of the same music (either genre or artist) for about a month or so until I get sick of it. Then I'll start to listen to my other music and it usually just ends up repeating itself over and over.
But now that I think about it, I do usually listen to just classic rock when I'm driving.
