Pesmerga
So in all of the Suikoden games, what were the characters you never used and you will never use.
The characters that annoyed you, or you hated so much that you just never wanted to use them.
I will post my thoughts later, because I need to look up some characters.
Voyou San
I dont really have any big name characters that come to mind... there were a couple characters here and there that I didnt like using because I didnt like their look or because I didnt like how they attacked smile.gif But i cant recall any atm.. ill have to look some up.
Athrun
There are a lot of characters I never used, and probably never will use. I'll have to think about some specific ones and post again, but I would guess that I haven't even used 50% of the characters. It's not like they're all very different from eachother. If they all had some unique special skill (Like the Musou attacks in Dynasty Warriors for example) it would at least be worth it trying out even the characters that don't interest you.

I tend to use almost every character I have, though some of them aren't as the same level as the others. I try to get a feel almost every character, especially since Suikoden V during the final dungeon. But if I have to pick. . .That really creepy guy from the first game. No not Vincent De Boule, I believe his name was Krin? or something like that. But yeah in addition to him all the Vincent De Boule-esque characters. I swear their abilities are worth squat.
Apple
There were just....SO many characters. I'm pretty sure I didn't use a lot of them, since I tend to only use the characters that I was most familiar with. The ones that are mostly optional to use, such as the ninja guy and the ninja-girl in Suiko3 were never used....although my friend insisted that they were pretty good.

To be honest, I haven't tried at least 70% of the characters I recruited, and the story doesn't seem to change even if I did use them, so that's just sad. But back on topic, my least favorite character would be that Pierre... who likes to chew flowers.
Seluna
The very arrogant Zamza (name's right?) dude in Suikoden 2. I recruited him for 108 then dumped him at the restaurant and forgot all about him. Same with the doppelganger in Sui 2. And all the narcissists... except maybe the Suikoden V lady... though she's a little scary too. o.o Cornelio of Suikoden V, because he pisses me off left and right.
Flame
(how strange... my mac suddenly decided to type everything out in hirigana?)

ANYWAY! Cornelio had his place in the game because he was the first person you can recruit... although for me he eventually lost out to the fashion Diva (Who also lost out to someone else). I've basically tried every character in Suiko V though I haven't really gone indepth with many of them. There are a few of the beavers I never bothered with (although one of the beavers has made it into my final party... I know there are better character's but I just can't seem to get rid of it >.< It's the annoying one that says 'Nouh' as well >.<)

The only characters I NEVER use (and avoid as much as storyline let's me) is Zerase (She's too powerful) and Roy (He is too weak and annoying and his voice acting send shivers done my spine). There aren't any character's who I refuse to use I think... maybe though...
Crimson Cloud
I used only 30% of the characters. I don't know why but I just use the ones you get in the biginning and I stick with them, except for Jane who is a must have in a group later. Its all about how the team looks and how balance they are, I somehow like the characters you have on the biginning so I never try some other ones. It's too troublesome for me to switch their runes and buy new equipment for new characters...
Valince
For ALLLLLLLL Suikoden games, I used all the powerhouse "knights and commanders". With the occasionally H2H fighter. I will NEVER use animals or machines.
Ember
I never use Jeane. I hate her so much! Me and my brother make so much fun of her, my other brother gets annoyed and tells us to shut up. But yeah, we hate her--a lot. (Can I reiterate that enough???) I really don't like Viki either, or the younger Viki, that sneezing gimmick was incredibly lame; it makes me wince to remember it right now. I don't like that those two are in all the games, while cooler characters like Luc are not--I hate what Luc did in the third game! BLEH!!!!

I hate Reinbach, too. Ew. Actually, I can't think of a single narcissist that I actually used. I don't use many of the characters, but I don't have to; my brother the level-up hound levels everyone up for me. He actually got everyone except Reinhold to level 99 in the fourth game. But yeah; that's his "slight autism" for you. he ENJOYS doing it, so I let him. I basically use about 20 characters that I really like (Rody, Luc, Flik, Viktor, on and on and on) then at certain points in the game I hand it to him so he can play around and level them. I choose runes and equipment in most cases, and in some, like with Jeane, where we both hate her, we might not give her any good equipment at all (and steal what she has for someone else, cause we're mean like that).
Pesmerga
Unluckily for you is that Jeane is the strongest mage statistically and a great asset to your party, whether you like it or not. I dislike Snowe aswell, yet I used him in my final party.
Viki and Jeane are again incredibly powerful in Suikoden V and can inflict major damage to your party.
Ember
I know! It is unlucky for me! But you can do just fine getting through the Suikoden games without her, I didn't have any problems with any of the games. You can't even use her in the first couple of games, so what's the big deal? I wish she'd go back to her "I'm not participating" role and quite hogging the best mage spot. Stupid ho. Anyway, I hated Snowe in the first game, actually, but I liked him a lot in Tactics. He was pretty helpful--more helpful then the guide said he was. I didn't use any of the beavers, either. I don't think I was missing out, there, though. Even my brother said they sucked, though he did continue to use the one with the guitar simply because he liked him.

What I like about the Suikoden games is the huge cast of characters; you can use whoever you want. You aren't stuck with a scant 3-6 characters like on most games, and you can spend all your attention on your favorite characters. I spent quite a bit of time on Rody, for example. A lot of people don't like him, but I thought he was quite good. I'm sure since I didn't use people like Jeane and Viki, he seems all the better. I think that's why I love Fire Emblem so much, too.

I proved to my brother that I could defeat that one beast in Muse with only the hero and Luc. Wind magic demolishes it. It was pretty simple.

I use characters I like, rather than the super-powered ones, and it works fine for me. The exception would be Richard, I adore him, and he was super-powered. It was very strange for me to have someone so good in my party.
nikkisfireball
I never really use the tricksters (Juppo, Meg). I also stay away from Kobalds. I've tried to use them, but they never seem to stay alive long enough to get decent levels, not to mention they are just annoying. I have to admit Ridley was good in strategic battles...if you could move him fast enough. Lastly, anybody with the rune that puts them to sleep until they get hit...drives me nuts.
?Gogo?
I try and use all of the characters, but I sometimes never get around to using ALL of them, oh well, Suikoden has too many characters, but that's part of it's charm.
maxxumas
Hmm this is a funny topic.

Well, just like Gogo, I try to use everyone at least for a few fights to see how they stack up and sometimes, when I'm int he final stage, I'll use everyone just to level them quickly or what not. But not often.

As for people I"ll never seriously use..hmmm can't think of too many but yea, some here and there. In suikoden 2...>.> I ain't NEVER useing the gotdamn chef...no way no how.

Suikoden 3....hmmm can't think of anyone off the top of my head.

Suikoden 4 ......................................>.> half the cast...

Suikoden 5....again, can't thinkk of too many people.

In all, the one reaccuring ROLE that i will not play with has to be the gay frenchmen role. I use him once just to see what level of gayness his specialty skill has reached and then I stick him away never to see the light of day again. YOu can imagine my horror in S4 when I found out he had....*gag*....a combo......................>.> I had to go out and get my girlfriend and hold her after seeing that cause I started to question my manhood...that level of gayness should NEVER be allowed to be shown....EVER!! I mean GOD, there are kids playing this game people! KIDS!!
Pesmerga
Haha, yeah that combo was scary. Aswell as his Red Rose Rune he had equipped, that was just as scary, if not scarier.
I try to avoid them aswell, though I did used Simone in Suikoden II quite some times aswell as Milich in Suikoden I because (you guys will be surprised) is quite a good asset to your party because he is a strong magician.
Crimcon-Knight
i tend to stay away from characters with weapons or the way they look dont suit me. but in that respect i like to get every one of my playable characters at least to level 60 so i have a wide choice of who i decied to use. exept people enevetibly leave my army
Georg-the-Great
I never saw the point of Ornan in SIV. He starts asleep and when he wakes up he's not even powered up or anything. And he's not even a very strong character to begin with so he has no qualities to counter the fact that he is useless when a battle starts.
Georg-the-Great
I was disappointed that you couldnt use Georg very much in Suikoden V
Hoodman
Krin from Suiko 1, useless bum.
Suiko 2, all the animals they never interested me.
Suiko 3, Piccolo and the kobolds
Suiko 5, Subala I hated everything about her. Lun all the way.
Voluspa
I will never use Jeane becuase....shes too hot smile.gif nah not really i try to use all characters atleast once and discover who works well with who and who gets bonus moves (3player move, combos etc)

Suikoden III: Alanis and Melville because I hate annoying children. Thomas and Franz: I didn't like their personalities. All those stupid dogs. Useless. Everyone else I pretty much leveled up because the war battles are easier that way.

Suikoden IV: Reinbach! Looking at him makes me sick. Katarina, because she's about as stupid as brick. Flare simply because I don't like princess characters. Jeane(suikoden IV and V): she's a hussy and I don't use mages anyway. Rita because just seeing her reminds me that painful mini game. She is evil. If the mermaids were playable I wouldn't use them. ugh, hate em.

Suikoden V: Nick and Josephine(hated them). All the Beavers, because they were just a stupid concept to begin with. Urda(I thought she was a total jerk.) The dwarves. Yes, I guess I'm biased against the other races in Suikoden. dry.gif

I haven't played Suikoden I and II so that's all I can think of off the top of my head.
dias
Ive always hated Yam Koo, Krin and Juppo most in Suikoden 1 and in Suikoden 5 it was always that Geosch oh and i never used Isato and Urda
Chalryn
Man, hard to pick anyone out that I would intentionally not use. The only one who comes to mind is Snowe, in Suikoden IV, but despite my utter hatred for him, I have to admit he's quite a good character in battle. >_<;

I generally try to use as many of the characters as I can, and I think I've covered most of them from II onward. (I didn't experiment much in the first game, since I only played it once.) Even characters that I don't like, such as Gengen and Tuta in II, I often wind up trying out anyway, just out of curiosity. So, really, I can't think of anyone that I would never use for any particular reason. Heck, even some of those narcissist characters turn out to be pretty decent (Augustine in III is pretty ridiculous, actually. Amazing character to have on your side in Thomas' scenario.), so I even try them out from time to time.

If I ever decide to simply not use anyone, it's usually just 'cause I know for a fact that they're weaker characters.

Edit: Oh, wait! Eugene, from Suikoden IV. He's so emowhiny, and I see nothing good about his stats. Although, in Tactics, I have used him quite a bit. (A ton of characters from IV are suddenly so much more useful in Tactics, I noticed. Haha.)
Pesmerga
I generally look at the character, if he/she looks interesting then I would like to use that person, but if the character looks odd (like the Beavers in Suikoden V), or I simply do not like their appearance I will most likely never use them.
Midnight Star
I used most of the characters for a small amount of time at least but I do have to agree, those with runes that had the characters asleep until hit I wouldn't use simply because they do nothing unless you get lucky enough for them to get hit. The dogs in Suikoden 3 I wouldn't use either. They died too easily. I didn't use Nina either. I thought she was just annoying >.>
Flame
I used one of the beavers in my final team... I generally give everyone a try. I don't like using Ernest from Suiko V, his attack wasn't that great and his rune was a pain in the ass and not even really much worth it, However I still gave him a chance... I can't think of any characters that I haven't used at all... and a lot of them have a use still.
mAn-kAt
In the first Suikoden, I would never had used Viktor (I think that is his name, you have him for most of the game) and Flik, BUT I get stuck with them anyways thanks to the last dungeon. So, I don't use a lot of the characters (probably around 70%+ of them). Of course I'm just going off of what I have played and beaten, which is only the First Suikoden, though I am working on the Third Suikoden now. (The second one is really expensive)
