In a somehow secluded part of Marvor was an establishment. It was a quite large establishment resembling a two story mansion and on it's entrance was a sign saying "Waldew's Caravan Escort". There was not much commotion around the building, just two men playing chess on the porch. On the exterior, the building didn't look impressing. Three chimneys were protruding from the roof and large windows were the eyes through which could be seen inside if there weren't for the curtains and the shutters.
Inside of the building, in the meeting room, were six men and a woman, sitting at the square table. One of the men, obviously the leader because of the place he was sitting at, spoke. His beard was gray and thick, just like his eyebrows. He had no hair. All those features were of an old man, but his demeanor said otherwise. Many wrinkles covered his face, but his eyes gave away life. Indeed he was old, but there was still a battle left in him.
"This time is most dire for our business. If no traders come to the city we won't have no one to escort. On top of that, we lost some good men on recent raids."
The only woman at the table was Ethelia, an elf. Long blond hair reached her behind and her stunning green eyes were looking at the old man with considerable dose of seriousness. She wore a white leather armor and beside her lay a silver bow. "What are we to do master Waldew?" She asked worriedly.
"I do not know Ethelia, I do not know. I called you all to tell you the situation and to tell you what to expect." He said.
"So what can we expect?" One of the men asked.
"First of all we might run out of funds and I would be compelled to close down the caravan escort. Second, I may send you to the provinces to escort the traders from there. Although there are men escorting traders to Marvor, adjoining with them might still be a risk. And on top of that, sending you to the provinces would only drain our resources."
"So what you are saying is that we are already barely keeping our heads above water?" Another man asked.
"Exactly." Waldew answered sorely.
"And you want us to start looking for another job." Said a long-haired man wearing a dark red cloak.
"Aphelion!" Ethelia yelled resentfully.
Waldew stands up. "Ethelia, he is right. I am at a dead end and that is the only alternative."
"B-but we've been in this business for so long..." Ethelia stuttered.
"I know. But it can't be helped. I will see what else I can do, but do not get your hopes up."
The last sentence marked the end of the conversation and Aphelion was the first one to exit the meeting room. Then he left to his room which was on the ground floor.

Race stood in the Tharia woods, a raiders camp was nearby. He stood in the tree, his eyes black, and his strange Necromancer garb blowing the wind. It was midnight, and no one would be able to see the elf in that tree, not even the gleam of his sapphire blade. He slit his finger open, the blood dripped to the ground, and soaked in. He whispered a few words, and the ground began to take a troll like shape. Soon, an Earth golem stood there over one the guards from behind. He turned around and let out a scream.
"What the hell is this thing," he yelled, taking a swing at it. It grabbed him by his arm, and hoisted him into the air. The man let out another scream, and the golem bit of his head. Throwing the body aside, it began to charge into the camp. It was followed by about 7 skeletons, and 12 zombies. Plus another Earth golem.
Soon, all the raiders were dead, and Races clothes changed shape into his ranger clothes. He unsummoned his undead and golems, and left the camp, a smile on his face. "Now then, to collect ot my pay." he said, heading for Sar.

[OOC: This post is just mainly telling of Chiyou's past and how she came to be a mage. It doesn't have much to do with the main plotline yet. If there's anything I need to mend in my post, let me know so I can fix it.]
IC:
Soft sobs could be heard from behind the closed door. There was little movement, and when there was, the floor boards would creak. As the door opened, the girl looked to see who was entering. When she recognized the figure, more tears sprung unbidden from her already bloodshot eyes. She hung her head, allowing her dark black hair drape over her face, hiding her shame.
“Chiyou...” The gentle voice caused more sobs to issue forth. Clutching her robe tighter around herself she waved her arm, motioning for him to leave. He stood there, patiently waiting for her to calm down. She fell on her knees and lay her head in her arms on her bed. The man walked over an sat on the bed, placing a hand on her head. She reached up and touched it.
“Why?” She asked in a strained voice. Wiping her eyes, she looked into his face, searching for an answer.
“They needed to be punished for their offenses. They were criminals, Chiyou.”
”And me, did I deserve it Tajan-san?” She rubbed her right eye, holding back tears.
“It is not for me to decide what is right or wrong. You should be thankful you are not totally blind in your eye.”
“You could have saved them Tajan-san! I know you could have! Your powers-”
“Are not to be abused,” he said harshly. He took Chiyou’s shoulders and turned her to face him. “I would not have saved your parents from their fate even if I could have. Do you understand?” She nodded. “They stole from caravans and did terrible things to people. The reason you were not killed as well is because you are just a child yet. Do you understand?” Chiyou nodded. Her eyes were dry now, but they still stung.
“Where will I go now?”
“The orphanage, the only place left for you to go.”
“Couldn’t you take me?”
Tajan shook his head. “I train magic users. You are not one of them.” Without another word, he stood up and shut the door as he left.
The next few days were hard on Chiyou. She was sent to the Orphanage where she lived with a handful of other kids. She was fed, schooled, well taken care of, but she was still unsettled. Her parents’ death still hung clearly in her mind. Her instructors would see the pain on her face and give her their condolences, but the fact she knew they were glad her parents were dead for their crimes only isolated her even more.
Years passed and as she came to the age of fourteen, Chiyou had successfully isolated herself from human kind. She would go to class, but she only sat in her desk, took notes, and did her homework. Never did she offer an answer, speak to anyone, or show any emotion of any kind.
When she didn’t have school work, she would lie on her bed, deep in thought. She had felt oddly restraint lately. It was almost as if her arms were tied behind her back. They weren’t, of course, that would be absurd. But the feeling would not go away, not even when she waved her arms in front of herself, proving they were free. However, her answer came to her much sooner than she would have liked, along with the rekindling of a memory she never wanted to remember.
She sat in her desk the next day, filled with dread. Once a year, Tajan the Mage would visit the older children of the village, searching for a new apprentice. It so happened that Chiyou was of age, and Tajan was performing a private test with each child in the Orphanage to see if any bore the slightest trace of magic in their veins. Sometimes none were chosen.
When it came to Chiyou’s turn to go to the back room, she passed Tajan without a glance. He recognized her, of course, as the girl he had saved from death so many years ago. She remembered him as the only one who could have saved her parents, but let them die. She gathered her robe around herself and sat in a chair, waiting as Tajan closed the door. As he turned to face her she remained motionless, just staring back with empty eyes.
“Your years here have not been kind to you,” Tajan said in his soft voice. Chiyou continued to stare at him. “Do you still want to become a mage?” That statement reminded Chiyou of her foolishness. Not so long ago she had begged to become his apprentice after her parents died. He refused her, and even now she saw that it would have been foolish. He didn’t care for her and he definitely didn’t care for her parents, either.
She averted her eyes, afraid she might cry. It had been shameful when he had seen her cry the first time and if he saw her now...She saw Tajan staring intently at her. Suddenly, against her will, her eyes snapped back up to meet his. The feeling she’d had for the past month was gone. She stretched the arms she had felt tied back in her mind.
Her hatred for the villages and what they did to her parents burst from her. The things Tajan had spoken to her when she was a child closed her heart. She took these things, and with her mind’s arms, she threw her feelings at Tajan. The force hit him squarely in the chest. Eyes open wide, he fell backward. Tears streaming forth, Chiyou stumbled out of the room. She grabbed onto the walls for support, for her head felt like it would burst from the stream of emotions she had let loose. Brushing away hands trying to stabilize her, she ran out of the Orphanage.
She did not get far, however. She was too dizzy, her stomach ached terribly, and her throat was closing up. Choking through her tears, she fell to the ground, untying the arms in her mind, reaching for support. Someone reached back and caught her, gently lowering her into unconsciousness.
When Chiyou woke up, she kept her eyes shut, listening. She tried to remember why she had taken her anger out on Tajan like she had. In fact, the more she thought about it, the more she wondered how she had done it. Opening her eyes, she sat up on the bed. She looked around. She knew this room. This was where she had been confined to while they tortured her parents. She was in Tajan’s room. But she could not bear to face him now, not after what she had done to him.
Standing up on her feet, Chiyou tried to walk to the door. But her legs were still weak, so she fell back on the bed. Frustrated, she sat up. Suddenly she felt awkward. She felt as if she were being watched. Turning her head, she saw Tajan sitting in his desk chair, studying her. Glaring, Chiyou got up on her two feet, but did not walk. She was furious. Had he seen her fall? Wasn’t he going to say something?
“You shouldn’t try walking,” he said simply. Chiyou relaxed a little and obeyed, sitting back down.
Feeling she’d rather break the barrier, Chiyou looked at him. “I’m sorry.” Tajan’s reaction was not what she had expected. She thought he would glare or chastise her. Instead, he laughed.
“Don’t be. It was quite impressive, I hadn’t thought it of you,” he said. Chiyou frowned.
“I don’t understand.”
Tajan stood up and walked over to her. “Give me your right arm.” He rolled up her sleeve and touched his index finger to her should. Chiyou gasped. Her mind’s arms stretched ou, feeling their way to her real arm. She became dizzy. “It’s almost done, hold on,” Tajan reassured her. After a minute or so, her mind’s arms retracted back to the smallest corner of her mind. She looked at her shoulder.
On her arm, crawling all the way to her elbow was a fiery red dragon. Chyiou looked up to Tajan, who was frowning. “What does it mean?”
“You are a magic user,” Tajan said slowly. “Your dragon...symbolizes hate.” When he saw she still didn’t understand, he explained further. “You tap into your magic powers through hate.” Shocked, Chiyou grabbed her arm, pulling down her sleeve to hide the dragon.
“And you, Tajan-san? What is your symbol?”
Tajan rolled up the sleeve on his left arm. Winding around it was an emerald serpent. “My abilities are through the spoken word. You merely need to control your hate to cast spells. I need to memorize a vocabulary of spells to cast. It is different for each mage.”
A thought crossed Chiyou’s mind. “Tajan-san...Am I to be your apprentice? Is that why you brought me here?” Tajan smiled and nodded. He rolled his sleeve back down. Walking to the door he opened it. As he left, he heard Chiyou whisper, “Thank you...”

Ethan walked out the border castle of Benedix, a castle that was about 15 miles outside the capital of Gedhon, Gedh. He patrolled the barricades for about an hour, his hard black hair was blowing in the subtle wind. This castle was built 500 years ago to guard the border to of Gedhon, and alert the capital of incoming attacks from enemies of all sorts whether they be merely beasts or another kingdom itself. Ethan's father, Victor Xzavier, is the castle's current Lord. He has defended the border for centuries and continues to valiantly defend these lands to this day. After patrolling the barricades, Ethan decides to head to the northern tower on lookout duty, he'll be there for the remainder of the night.
One the way up there, he runs into Vincent Delavor, another elite guard and a friend of Ethans. "M'lord, Ethan, how've ya been?" called out Vincent.
"How many times do I have to tell ya Vince, not to call me Lord, I don't feel any more superior to you than I do any of the other elite guards, technically we're all of the same ranking." said Ethan with a stern look on his face.
"I'm jus messin wit ya Ethan. Anyway, ya headin to the north tower? I'm jus comin from 'ere meself. Not too much to look out for, we've jus spotted a few beasties 'ere and there. Nothing we couldn't take care of a few minutes. Ya have nuttin to worry 'bout." said Vincent seeming a bit overconfident.
"I'm not too worried about it Vince, but ya know, it jus gets borin. But, I suppose it's always worth the look. Well, take care Vince." shouted back Ethan now starting up the second corridor stair case.
"Awright now Ethan, you too." said Vincent headin off in the opposite direction. Both seemed unusually cheerful these days and it was starting to seem to be gettin outta hand. Apparently, the news of the raids and attacks on caravans seemed to be good news to them. Not that Ethan and Vincent were the ones doing them, but the vague sense of action over the horizon seemed to be foreboding battles ahead, and they, like all of 'their kind', were anxious enough as it is....

General Averey walked inside the throne room with soldier Dunstan behind him.
"General Averey!" Dunstan announced him firmly.
Averey is a middle-aged man, around thirty five years old, wearing dark blue full plate armor with white shoulder and knee pads. Also, he was wearing a dark green cloak. Two long swords hung on both sides of his waist. Only a glance on the hilts told of the quality of the swords. His black hair reached his shoulders. A young general some might say, but he more than deserves the title. Many times has he proved his prowess in battle and intelligence with clever strategies.
He kneels in front of the king on one knee, while the other served so he can place his arm on it.
"Rise my friend." Thar said.
Averey stands up. "What can I do for you my king?"
"Direct as always. You are not a general for nothing." The king smiles and then makes a stern expression. "I have a request."
"My liege, you give orders, not make requests. Your soldiers and I will do anything for you." He stated with determination.
Thar sighs. "Please, do not make this difficult for me. I shall go right to the point. As you know, because of the recent raids merchants are afraid of traveling and without their goods..."
Averey interrupts. "I am sorry for the interruption, but I do know what will happen all too well. Also, these raids seem... unnatural because of their frequency. Bandits have never been attacking so frequently, nor have they been..."
Now Thar interrupts him. "My dear general, I do not think it is bandits who raid the caravans."
"I thought of it too, but on these routes only they are capable of committing raids."
Thar sighs again. "General, Tharia has held the upper hand for hundreds of years. Someone might have become fed up with that."
"My liege, but who?" Averey frowned.
"That is why I sent for you. I want you to take some of your best men and travel to Sar and escort a caravan here. Of course, there will be more men escorting the caravan with whom you will be adjoining. I have sent word that this caravan is of great importance, which was not a big lie, to lure whomever is behind this, into attacking the caravan. What I want from you is to uncover the culprit behind this."
"I shall do as you ask. The only problem is that all of my men, being great warriors, can not handle themselves well in wilderness."
"Indeed, that is why I have also sent a message to Waldew's Caravan Escort. He has some good men who have many experience in traveling. I told him that you will personally pay him a visit." Thar smiled.
"Waldew... I know of him. He has achieved much in his life according to gossip."
"For once, gossip is true."
"I am glad to hear that my liege. Now, I shall take my leave and put my hands on the task at once."
"Farewell general."
Averey turns around and leaves the throne room and the castle. Not many times has he visited the civilian parts of Marvor so he was glad to go to the caravan escort. It was very crowded on the town square, and Averey, wearing polished armor and clean cloak stuck out like a sore thumb. Although he rarely came to this part of the city, many people knew him and were now greeting him. Fast paced as he was, he arrived to the secluded part of the civilian area, where stood Waldew's Caravan Escort. In front of the mansion were two men and a woman. One of them was Waldew, to his right was an elven woman in a white leather armor and to his left was a man wearing black clothes and a dark red cloak. Averey approaches them and Waldew greets him.
"Welcome general. Aren't you a sight for sore eyes." Averey looked at Waldew strangely unaware of Waldew's financial situation. "Nevermind." Waldew added when he noticed that the general didn't understand.
"The king sent me..." But he failed to finish his sentence.
"I know that all to well general. Let me introduce you with your new traveling companions. To my right, Ethelia, a very beautiful elven woman as you can see. Very skilled with the bow and a good ranger."
Ethelia places her left arm on her chest and bows slightly. "Nice to meet you general."
"Nice to meet you too miss." Averey responded.
"And on my left", Waldew continues, "Aphelion. Although his name says he is an elf, he is not. He's just a humble human, skilled with a blade and an excellent ranger, able to track anyone... or anything."
Aphelion nods to the general and Averey nods back.
"I am glad to meet you all", Averey starts, "but I need to prepare my men. I ask you to come to the castle tomorrow at noon. We will all meet there and head for Sar."
"It's a deal then. Good luck general." Says Waldew.
"Thank you." Averey replies and turns to leave.
"Fare well general." says Ethelia.
"You too miss." He responds.
When the general left, Waldew turns to Ethelia and Aphelion.
"I want you to be very careful on this journey. Those who raid the caravans are dangerous and many good men have died fighting them. I have grown to like you both, so I don't want to lose you."
Aphelion looks at him.
"Yes, Aphelion, even you if that is what you were wondering. The reason I'm sending you two is because I really want for this quest to succeed. What I want from you is to give it all you've got out there and come back alive." He was very serious.
Ethelia approaches him and hugs him. "Don't worry Waldew, we will not fail you." She said with a sincere voice.
"Our job depends on it." Aphelion adds.
Ethelia turns around to face him. "Our job!? This is more that a simple job, and our lives depend on it also!" She was vexated with what he said and the relaxed tone of his voice while he said it.
"I will not need a job if I am dead." Then he turns around and enters the mansion.
"I do not know if I will be able to tolerate him Waldew." She said.
"Do not worry Ethelia, he barely talks so I do not see anything litigious." Waldew comforted her.
"I guess you are right... as always." A sincere smile appears on her face.

Chiyou had not known what to expect, being the apprentice mage to Tajan now. She was spared having to mingle with the citizens of her small village, as Tajan knew she did not know or wish to know any of them. She stayed in her room during the day, studying the history of Hasfiria, the country she lived in, and Tajan would occassionally have her write reports on past events. He did this mainly to see if Chiyou was even learning anything about the history of where she lived, or if she was doing other things with the scrolls he gave her. During night time, Tajan allowed Chiyou to wander the village or even go outside its borders, to practice her magic and see if she could hone her skills. Tajan had only one concern about her powers, however. Since she chanelled through hate, or strong anger and emotions for others, he feared she might be a risk to herself and everyone she was around. He had needed to teach her discipline, and it was not easy. He feared she may have formed an illusion of needing self-perfection from his training, not something he would have liked, because once he had mentioned it to her, she became obssessive with the idea.
Leaning on the gate to Chuntao Ai’s garden, Chiyou looked at the even rows of crops Ai had aligned. They swayed in the wind with seemingly perfect harmony with the currents in the air. Chiyou watched, entranced, thinking of her own connection with magic. Would it be possible for even someone like herself to become one with the flow of magic? Or would it be powerful enough, if she did obtain perfect connection, to somehow control her, like the wind could push the branches of a tree into whatever direction it wanted. But like the tree itself, she would be strong. She would not allow herself to be blown over.
“Stop day dreaming and listen to me, Chiyou,” She jumped, spinning around. She hadn’t even heard him coming! How could she hope to become one with her flow of magic and not even hear Tajan coming up behind her? Furious, Chiyou promised to be more attentive. Tajan saw her frustration on her face. “Is everything alright? You seem perturbed.”
Chiyou turned away. “No, everything is fine. What did you come to me for?” She had not needed to call him ‘Tajan-san’ when they were alone. Since they were equals now, there was no need. But in public they each added the respectful ‘san’ onto each others names. Tajan regarded her for a few moments.
“I was merely coming by to check and see if you were alright,” That only made Chiyou angrier. Tajan only seemed to come to her because he thought there was a problem with her. Well, I’m sad to say Master, but I’m feeling fine. In fact, I’m positive the reason you’re worried about me is soley because you know I’m passing you in skill.
Tajan let her stand in silence for a moment before he guessed why she was angry. So she did still have the desire to be the best. Well, he would need to break that ego, if she was ever going to travel out into the world it would not do very much for anyone to be around such a perfectionist. Aware that his next words would anger Chiyou, he prepared a counter-attack to the magic she was sure to use against him. She was naive still, in many ways. She thought she had gained the limits to her magic, but she had barely breached the barriers. The only attack she ever used was the only one she knew. But she would not listen to him when he tried to teach other spells to her. She was just that stubborn. “Do not become overconfident.” Sure enough, she turned to face him, anger in her eyes, and she stretched the invisible arms of her mind and thrust with all her might her emotions, shoving them at Tajan. With a simple word, he knocked down her attempt as if it were nothing. Eyes wide open, Chiyou stared at him in shock. Realizing what her mistake was, of pride, she bowed her head.
“Forgive me, Tajan-san.”
“Appology accepted, but do not let it happen again.” He walked away, leaving her to contemplate on what she had done and to find a way to control her pride.

All the dirt on the ground wasn't pleasant to breathe in. It was the second time Kamui found himself down. He was looking at the same floor the second time. Kamui slowly started to get up. He placed his hand on the ground and pushed himself upwards slowly. When he was at crouching stance he turned his head towards the female that was behind him.
'' What's wrong, is that all? ''
Said the female elven warrior who was holding a sword against her chest. Her image was reflected in Kamui's eyes. An angry eyes to be precise. She was strong. He had no chance against her. After all, he was just a rookie member in Azure Knights squad.
'' If you slack in training all the time you'll never be stronger'' She said.
Kamui was finally standing straight. He didn't say anything to her because he knew that she was only trying to vexate him.
He took his sword that was on the ground and charged at her again.
'' You will never learn, don't swing harder! Swing better! '' She yelled at him.
With a single move she took Kamui's sword away from him and made him fall one the ground. It happened so fast that he didn't know what hit him. He found himself on the ground again and woman's sword pressed against his face. Sunlight was reflecting from the sword into Kamui. The woman smiled and removed her sword away from him.
'' You will never learn...''
'' I had no chance against you, how is this beating going to help me improve?'' - asked Kamui
The woman offered her hand to Kamui to help him get up but he didn't took it. He got up on his own.
'' Should I be thankful that no one was around to see me fall against a girl, Athelyna''
'' You can think what you will. You will do us no good if you fall quickly in battle'' - said the elven woman.
Kamui lowered his head and squeezed his hand.
'' You will get better in time, just concentarate when general Averey instructs you'' when Athelyna said that she started walking toward the exit of the training ground.
Kamui picked up his sword and gazed in it for a while...

ooc: This is going to be in a dream of his, his past will be told trough dreams off and on.
IC: Race stood between his Drow master, and his Elven master. "Just leave me alone!" he cried out, and ran for the woods. Constantly, his mother, the drow master, and his father, the elven master, followed him. He cried as he ran, knowing that his family was dead now. Then, he came upon it. His burning home. He could see his father on the roof, two arrows in him. He could hear his mothers screams inside of the tree like house. He fell to his knees, and his rich skin became pale, his healthy body grew skinny, his beautiful green turned grey. And his silk became hard steel armour, a blood red, and obsidian black plate male. He pulled out a massive war hammer, and charged at the elves screaming some words in the drow language. Soon, he was followed by a small army of undead and Golems.
The last he dreamt, was of him crying before his burnt home, amongst the bodys of many Elves. "AHHHHHH!" He screamed as he woke, his skin felt like it was on fire. He got up and headed for the nearest spring. He decided to head to head for the captital first. There he found a caravan, which was strange in this time. Amonsgt the caravan he saw a beautiful elven woman, a cloaked man. And the obvious leader of this small group, an older man. He saw the young elven woman again, and couldn't help himself. He threw a glance her way as he pasted her veiw, then went on to explore the rest of the town. "Heh, I will just follow them later, see were they are headed, and if they are going my way, well, a little extra help never hurt." He looked around, then pulled a little imp out of his sleeve. "Isn't that right, Oni."
"Yesir, ittis verly right indeed."
"Glad you agree, now watch them, and tell come tell me when they leave. I will be the tavern.
ooc: By the way, I edited my last post to put me in the same area as you Albel. Sorry bout that, i edited it to put me in the capital.

"Hmm....nothin as much so far. Hmm....wait. I think I see somethin, yes! There, a behemoth headin this way comin from Memoria Forest." said Ethan to himself. He ran down the previous second corridor stairs at a heightened pace. Turned around the corner, dashing down the corridor leading to the Grand Hall. But stopped short to find Vincent staring out the window."Hey Vince, what's up. You look a bit disconcerted. Did ya see the Behemoth, we can tackle it together! Shouldn't be too much trouble." said Ethan looking a bit puzzled at the concerned-looking Vincent.
"Well...er...it's nuttin, let's go Ethan." said Vincent walking toward the Altarix Grand Gate, the central and most impregnable gate in the entire Benedix Province and perhaps even in the entire Gedhon kingdom. Before Ethan had any chance to say anything Vincent had already opened the steel prone gate and was walking out toward the battlements. Before he knew Ethan was also standing out at battlements with the apparency that his legs had carried him there and he hadn't realized it. The behemoth was still a fairly good distance off, but it seemed to have gathered a few followers as it treaded onward towards the castle. Fenrirs, banshees, and other creatures of all sorts were making there wa toward them. Surely they made need help but then again Ethan and Vincent were probably the most top notch elite guards available at the castle right now, and they wanted to avoid too many casulties at all costs. Vincent got into the right turret tower and Ethan into the left turret tower and then they waited...

Chiyou returned to Tajan’s home later that night. She had stayed out, thinking about what she had been becoming. Obssessive with the thought of power. That was not good for her, she knew, but it was an enticing ideal. Instead of disregarding the idea completely, she decided she would learn what she could from Tajan until she knew for sure the limits of her powers. Only then could she possibly hope to achieve such statis as being the best mage.
Returning to her room, she was not surprised to see Tajan waiting there for her, sitting at the desk. Usually once a night, or perhaps during the day, but only rarely, they would sit together and they would discuss world events. Tajan was always surprised at how little she knew of the outside world, beyond the village they lived in. Her parents had traveled quite frequently, but Tajan supposed she didn’t recall or remember much of the world because she had been a small child at the time. Thinking of her parents only made him more hesitant to bring up the topic he had had in mind for today. But he decided to speak of it anyway.
“Chiyou,” he said, calling for her attention. “What have you heard so far about the caravans being attacked by theives?”
She thought about it for a moment. “I’m not sure of much, but from what you gave me, I do know that near the capital city caravans are being attacked and food is becoming a shortage in some areas, along with low funds to pay for escorts.” Tajan nodded, urging her to continue. “What else do you want? That is all I know.”
Tajan sighed inwardly. This was how their conversations always went. He wasn’t sure if she just didn’t want to share what she knew, or if she really was that far out of everything that she didn’t have a clue what went on. “Which capital city is having these problems? There are more than one capital cities on the continent.” Chiyou shook her head. “Do you know why the caravans are being attacked?”
Frowning, Chiyou answered as best she could. “Well, because...Old rivalries between the countries have broken loose and now they’re beginning to fight?”
That hadn’t been the answer Tajan was expecting, but he supposed it would do for now. To the best of his knowledge there were just many bandits and theives abound, not that there was a suggestion of war. “Not quite what I was looking for. Do you know what would happen if all the routes leading away from the capital Marvor were blocked off in an attempt to keep safe caravans?”
“The economy would begin to collapse, naturally. Why do you mention this?”
Tajan sat up straight. “Because I am going to send you to Marvor to see if you can prove yourself out in the world as an accomplished mage, and to see how you act with your magic in dire situations like this.”
“So you expect me to solve the problem of bandits on my own?”
“No, of course not. But I want you to see what you can do.”
This thought struck Chiyou as odd. “Why send me to do hero work? I’m nobody special. If anything, you should go. Or does it have something to do with the caravans?” Then it hit her. He wanted to see if she would turn out like her parents, who in their turn, were thieves.
[OOC: By the way, Chiyou's ego of being the best is not me trying to make her the best character. It's just her having a big ego, and I shall crush it eventually. Just thought I'd mention that as an fyi...]

Although the white-haired man tried to use skilled swordsmanship moves, the elven woman easily nullified them and countered his moves making him look ridiculous. In Averey's eyes, he didn't look ridiculous because it wasn't any woman he was fighting. Athelyna was next to him when it comes to swordsmanship. And the white-haired man, Kamui, although a rookie, showed considerable skills. Averey's decision was these two, and while choosing Athelyna was a logical choice, he chose Kamui for this journey too. Of course there were much skilled knights in the first squad, Averey held high hopes for the rookie. He approached them.
"He is learning Athelyna. If you haven't noticed your shoulder pad is missing." Than he looks at Kamui. "I do not know if that was coincidence, luck or skill though." But before he let them say anything he started a bit harshly, while frowning slightly. "I have chosen you two for a task. It is a dangerous task and there is a good possibility that you will lose your lives, but that is what you have been trained for. To fight for the king and country 'till death. Tomorrow we travel to Sar and from there we will be escorting a caravan to Marvor. The caravan will most certainly be attacked and our job is to discover who is behind these raids. The only thing we know so far is that these raiders are very skilled and organized." He turns to leave. "You should call it a day and get some rest because it will be getting rough starting tomorrow." Then he leaves.

Aphelion failed to notice a silver-haired elf for he was entering the mansion. On the other hand, Ethelia felt his look. It was strange to see many people in this secluded part of the city, nevertheless she did not pay much heed to the elf so she entered the mansion as well. As for Waldew, he knew there was something about this elf but he wasn't able to put his finger on what it is. He didn't know if it was good or bad, so he, a bit worriedly enters the mansion. Although he himself is not going tomorrow, he felt as a part of his soul was going together with Ethelia and Aphelion.

“How on earth am I going to get to Marvor?”
“What do you mean?”
“Come now, Tajan. Marvor is to the east of us, Hasfiria. It’s not like I can just walk there.” She stopped as she saw him smiling. “What’s so funny?”
Tajan berated himself silently for laughing at her. So she had been pretending to be ignorant. That was good to know. “You act like you’re so stupid, and yet you actually know your history. How do you figure?”
The comment made Chiyou blush. She hadn’t thought she had been so obvious. Well, she would learn from her mistakes, hopefully. “Ah, yes, I’m sorry. But my question still stands. How will I go about travelling to Marvor? What will I do once I get there?”
Tajan thought about it for a moment. “You can take my horse, for one thing, and I will provide you will enough money to get you half-way there. The rest will be up to you. Remember, once you get rid of the thieves, come back to me and I will initiate you to a proper Mage.”
“Alright, I accept this mission...but I do not know how I shall ever accomplish it.” Tajan smiled kindly at her. In her months of being his apprentice, she had come to think of him as a friend, a teacher, instead of the cold-hearted person she had thought him to be when she had been just a child.
“You will know what to do when the time comes. Get some rest, and I would advise you do not lay off your departure for too long.”
“So you would suggest I leave in the morning?” Tajan nodded. “Will I have any provisions?” He nodded again. “Alright. Leave me then, and I shall get some rest.”
Leaving the room, Tajan allowed Chiyou to collapse on her bed. However, far from going to sleep, she lay on her bed and thought of how she would go about saving the world. She supposed that it would take her at least a month to get to Marvor. If she was lucky, maybe less. But then the sudden fear gripped her. What if she arrived there and everything was taken care of already? She dismissed the thought for it was foolish. It was highly unlikely she would be travelling and not hear something as vital as that. Rolling over onto her side, she fell asleep.

Averey did watch the battle. Kamui didn’t even notice him. But he did somehow managed to slice Athelyna’s shoulder pad. He was close, but next time…
He stood still when general Averey arrived. He wanted to say something of General’s comment about his skill but there was no time. General started talking with no means to interrupt. When General finished what was needed to be said he leaves. Kamui raised one hand in general’s direction to say something but he decided he rather not. He lovered his hand and started thinking
’’Sar? Possibility to lose our lives? Are they sure they wan’t me to be there? Or is this some kind of a way to get rid of the weak ones? Suddenly thrown in the dangerous missions with almost no field experience ? No… What am I thinking? General knows if I’m ready for the task or not…’’
His thoughts were interrupted by Athelyna.
’’Having doubts? You can always quit you know?’’
’’Heh, don’t get me wrong I may have seemed a little shocked but…’’ Kamui then turned his head to Athelyna and finished his sentence.
’’I’m glad what I will be thrown into battle! Only way to get stronger is to seek new horizons! This will destroy me or make me better. I’m counting on the second one!’’
Kamui takes of his training armor and puts it in the near armory in the entrence of the training ground, and then he leaves with a blink smile on his face. Athelyna just stood there looking at Kamui as he shrinked into the distance.
When he arrived to his quarters he put down his sword and opened the small window. As he watched through it he thought to himself.
’’ I don’t know if I will be able to sleep tonight…’’

Chiyou awoke in the early hours of the morning. She usually never got much sleep at night. On average she got four hours, sometimes she was lucky and got six. It was unusual, but her sleep disorder caused her to miss out on sleep. However, it had stopped bothering her for quite some time. Rarely did it actually affect the way she acted during the day, but she knew that it didn’t help her any, either.
Scrambling out of bed, she got dressed and foraged in her room for any belongings she would take with her. She attempted to stay quite, for she knew Tajan would still be in bed. Stopping for a minute, she thought about waking him up to say good-bye. But she knew neither of them would be able to bear it. So, she grabbed her coin sack and a pack full of provisions and left the house.
Tajan’s horse, Kailo, was waiting for her, tied to a post near Chuntao Ai’s garden. It was a beautiful black mare, its mane long and shaggy. Patting it, Chiyou strapped her bag onto its saddle and hoisted herself up.
“Come on Kailo, let’s get going,” nudging him gently with her feet, Chiyou urged him on. Starting at a steady trot, Kailo began down the path.

As the beasts got into range of the arrow cannons on the turret towers, Ethan looked over to Vincent and nodded, at that moment a rain of arrows were hoverin toward the oncoming enemies. The sound of crimson blood splattering as the javelin sized arrows pierced the skulls of the fenrirs, shot through the banshees, obliterated the goblins and decimated many ther beast and feinds that were inclined to follow the behemoth. Yet still it aquires more and more beasties to follow. "Vince, we're outta of arrows!" shouted Ethan over to the other turret.
"I know, we're gonna have to fight at close range, let's go." said Vincent jumpin out of the turret. Then he dashed into the fray with Ethan following close behind. Ethan dodged an oncoming fireblast from a nearby banshee then jumped into the following a hard slash down onto the owner of the fireblast. With a lightning quick thrust to the left he cut down an approaching fenrir, then dashed over to another fenrir but there was something on it's back. It was a goblin! It with a huge jolt, the fenrir flung the goblin at Ethan with top speed. Ethan readied his sword jumped onto the goblin for extra boost toward the fenrir that it sat on. With another quick thrust, blood had gushed from the fenrirs now split skull as it's mangled body crubled to the ground. Ethan pulled out his sword crusted in crimson blood and looked around then it hit him. He had lost track of Vincents whereabouts...

Chiyou was surprised to find that she missed the village. She had never been close to anyone there except for Tajan, but even then, she had only known him for a few months. She sighed. This journey might well take her a long time, but she had promised herself and Tajan that she would return in order to become a Mage. She hadn’t seen the last of that village.
Suddenly Kailo stopped in his tracks, whinying. “What is it, Kailo?” Looking over her shoulders, Chiyou saw a trio walking behind her, far enough that it was almost hard to see them. As soon as she stopped they stopped. Kailo began walking again and so did they. Kailo stopped. So did they. What the heck, Chiyou thought. They must be thieves. It was common to see thieves at this part of the country, for she was on the border of Hasfiria and Tharia. Her village lay on the border as well.
Chiyou set Kailo at a gallop. Looking over her shoulder, she saw the trio running behind her. They just won’t give up, will they? Furious, she glared at them. Their image instantly came clearer. Then she saw it was just person and-it was herself. Her eyes opened wide and her anger faded, along with her mirror image. Her head began to swim and she fell off Kailo, unconcious.
Slowly waking up, Chiyou opened her eyes. She was laying on a bed. There was nothing else in the room except for her sack and money pouch, untouched with everything still in them. Chiyou sat up. She had no idea how she had gotten to this place, nor did she know where it was. The door to her room opened and she smiled. She should have guessed he was here and had helped her.
“Tajan,”
“Chiyou,” he said, returning the greeting.
“I’m a bit embarrassed you followed me...”
Tajan laughed gently. “I’m glad I did. You really are full of surprises.”
She looked at him, confused. “What do you mean?”
“I had been following your mirage. Only when it faded did I realize it was not really you. It was quite impressive, actually, that I didn’t realize it right away.”
Chiyou blushed. It annoyed her how he could make her do that. “How could I have created a mirage? I never realized...”
“I’m not sure, but perhaps when Kailo stopped with such urgency, your unconcious mind created a mirage, to protect you.”
“It hurt though, to hold onto it. Is there any way to control my use of it?”
Tajan nodded. “Of course there is. You need to control your emotions.” Chiyou didn’t comment. “And, unfortunately, you have a snowflake’s chance in hell of ever controlling your emotions. It’s just something that can’t be done. You can pretend, but you can’t control them.” His analogy made Chiyou laugh.
“Go figure. What about you? What’s the word for you to summon a mirage?”
He shook his head. “I don’t summon anything. I cast spells to create, or rather, borrow of myself. The word is ‘Akataichan’.
“It must be hard.” Tajan looked at her with a confused look. “Well, I mean, the word is so long to say. What if you need something quick and short?”
Tajan shrugged. “Then I have to speak fast, but clearly. If I speak too fast I might say a different spell that sounds alike but holds an entirely different meaning. You’re almost lucky, Chiyou, to be able to cast so easily.”
Chiyou silently disagreed with him. Yes, it was easy for her to cast, but she couldn’t control it. When she needed it, she couldn’t cast. How lucky could that be?

In the confines of his room, Aphelion was readying his equipment. A bit nervous, which was a new thing for him, but still expressionless, he got up early. To this time he thought of many possible situations that this journey could bestow upon them. But the thinking was over and now he was sheathing his steel falchion on his back.

He liked the element of surprise so the falchion was concealed underneath his cloak with the hilt facing the ground. That way it wouldn't protrude behind his head, staying completely hidden from prying eyes, and it was easier to unsheath it from below. Of course, there was a hunting knife attached to his dark brown belt. It was almost noon and the sun was almost at the middle of the sky and as well, almost time for departure, so Aphelion exits his room and leaves the mansion. But as he was leaving the courtyard, Ethelia's voice stops him.
"Going without me are you?"
Aphelion stops and stoops his head. "Not really." His voice was bleak.
"What is that supposed to mean? Waldew wanted to say goodbye to you as well!" But Aphelion was already on his way so she starts half-running to catch up with him. They were heading for the meeting place which was in front of the castle.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
General Averey was the first one who arrived in front of the castle. It wasn't a coincidence, the king made a request for him to come a bit earlier. When Thar got word of Averey's arrival he went out to meet him, of course with Samuel beside him. Averey greeted him as usual.
"Good afternoon my liege." He bowed.
"Technically, it is still morning general." Thar smiled and Averey followed. "The reason I have asked you to come earlier is because I have yet another request."
"As I said before my liege, you do not make requests..."
But Thar interrupted him. "I make orders. That is not the way I am leading this country. But we don't have time for that. Take this letter. It has been sent by one of my mages who is abroad. When you get to Sar you will meet a young female mage. You are to show her this letter and she will join you."
Averey was authorized to many secret information, so reading this letter was also allowed. When he finished reading it he looked at the king, bewildered.
"She is a child my liege."
"Indeed, but the mage who sent her is not a fool either. He knows what he is doing and from what he has said in that letter, she could prove a valuable asset to you."
"As you wish my liege." Averey bowed his head.
At that moment Ethelia and Aphelion arrived. Also six other soldiers chosen from the lower ranks of the military also arrived. Ethelia bowed to the king by placing her left hand on her chest and the right on her back.
"Good morning my liege."
Aphelion just stood there expressionlessly. "Are we ready to go?" He asked.
Averey frowned and looked at Aphelion with despise. He was greatly angered because he didn't greet his king and it could be seen on his face.
"Averey?" Thar looks at him.
Upon hearing the king's voice, the general calms significantly. "Just two of my knights and we are ready to depart."

“Tajan,” She said, calling for his undivided attention. “Where are we?”
“We are in the town of Cherova, about twenty miles south of Sar.”
This surprised Chiyou. “How long was I unconscious?”
Tajan thought about it for a bit. “I would say about two days.” He saw her look of bewilderment. “Chiyou, you are advancing well, but there is still much for you to learn as well. What was the first thing I taught you?”
“When a mage casts, he or she takes a part of himself to incorporate into their magic. In other words, casting drains my energy. But is a mirage really that difficult to make that I would be out for two whole days?”
“Better believe it. Now, we must make haste to Sar, Chiyou. If we travel non-stop it should take us the better part of two days to reach Sar. There is much to be done there, so we shouldn’t idle. Come now, gather your things and let’s be off.” Obediently, Chiyou gathered her pack and exited the inn with Tajan, where they continued their journey to Sar. Though, as she hung onto Tajan as he commandered Kailo, she wondered why he was in such a hurry. To the best of her knowledge they weren’t supposed to be meeting with anyone, so arriving late wouldn’t be a problem. Sighing, she accepted the fact that Tajan was still a mystery to her and she shouldn’t be bothered trying to figure him out.

Kamui was lying on the bed. He couldn't sleep so his mind was drawn to thinking. He was rolling around in his bed. His thoughts from the past slowly started to recreate live images.
He started to remember his youth and all the pain he got.
It was a small village called Olbrick. It was pretty poor so even younglings had to work some chores. His father was a fisherman and his mother was a bar waitress.Well actually there were three girls running the bar. Men who often finished their work would often relax at the bar at nights. They would seek pleasurable company. My father, Georg, was not so interested in those kinds of things. He wanted only a fair life and to get enough money so he can leave that place. My mother and father started dating, and asoon afterwards they got married. Some months later I came to this world. My mother was mostly busy so father was the one who took care of me. He thought me some useful things and I'm thankful for that. My father and I worked as fishermen and work was going good if I can say so myself, mother worked at the inn all day.
After some time my father died, while he was building some house together with some villagers he was hit by a brick and it was an instant death. Not very heroic death but stupid things happen.
I felt pretty much alone... After some time, slave traders arrived. They started killing everything except young people like myself. My mother died that day too. We weren't all that close, so I didn't miss her that much... but I felt bad about it too. My life was not a normal one. Then some other things happened. My search for power and it all led me here. I never excpected to be the one who joined the knights, to protect. That was never my intention. But HE changed that....
Finally Kamui noticed that his eyes are already half closed down. He stopped remembering the past , closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.
Early in the morning he woke up and though to himself.'' The time has come. Let's get this on.''
He started dressing up for the departure. He took his broad sword and put on his armor. With that done he looked at his room one more time before he closed it.
Kamui was walking through the street. His mind was set on previous encounters. He didn't show much in the last missions but this time, he must give everything he has. Although it's easily said then done. Kamui then looked up to the sky. The sun was shinning and he could feel warm rays on his face. '' Hey Kamui, wait up!'' some female voice reached Kamui's attention.
It was Athelyna. She looked ready and calm as always. Kamui stopped as the elven woman approached him.
'' Hello...'' Kamui says with some ignorance.
He really respected her, but she beat him two times already so he was right that he feels a little jealous for her skills.
'' Hope you're ready, or this will be the fastest way to get stronger and die along with it.'' Athelyna said.
'' You just take care of yourself, don't worry about me.''
'' Don't be rude I'm worried about you you know.''
'' Err... really... you must be pulling my leg.'' Kamui blushed.
'' Aww how sweet you're blushing I didn't know you can do that.'' the elven woman smiled
'' S-Shut up!'' Kamui yelled embaressed.
The elven woman nods her head and starts walking. Of course you can't resist elven beauty no matter how hard you try. They walked together until they arrived to castle gates. The two Azure Knights were, by the size of already few number of people that are on this mission, the last.

They travelled for two days. Most of the journey they were riding, stopping occassionally so that Kailo wouldn’t drop from exhaustion. Tajan seemed surprised that there weren’t very many other civilians or merchants travelling the roads.
“Why is that?” Chiyou had asked him when he spoke it aloud as they stopped so Kailo could rest.
“Usually this road is teeming with caravans going from the far corners of Hasfiria to Sar, where they then go to Marvor. But there aren’t any now.”
”Do you think they’ve been attacked?”
“I’m not sure,” he replied. “I would hope not. Maybe they were just told to hold off until the King was sure they would have protection from raiders.”
He patted Kailo as he slurped in the water from the well. Kailo snorted, so Tajan let him be to drink and walked over to Chiyou who was standing in the road. He studied her for a moment, not saying a word. She had really matured from the first time he had met her when she was just a little girl. That was understandable, as he hoped anybody who grew up would be more mature than they were as a child. But Chiyou seemed more at peace with herself now. He was definitely glad she had lost her air of perfection and didn’t seem so adamant to be the best. Sure, every now and then she would fill with pride, but so did he. Some things were just natural.
“I know you’re watching me,” she said, breaking the silence. Tajan smiled.
“That’s good.”
Chiyou turned to face him. Yes, she was older, but the both of them still were only barely as high as Kailo in height. It’s a good thing power wasn’t measured that way otherwise Tajan would have been crushed in his early mage-hood by other contenders for his role he played with the King. “What were you thinking about?”
He shrugged. “Just that you’ve grown up.” Chiyou blushed again. Curses, she thought. That’s the second time in two days. Tajan laughed. “Oh, I’m sorry, you don’t like it when I say things like that, do you?”
“Not really.”
“Well, I was just thinking. Your mother and father would have been proud of you.” That hit Chiyou’s heart like an anvil. Her parents? No one had ever said something like that before. As a young girl, people would tell her they were sorry for her loss, but they never cared. Behind her back she heard their whispers of joy that her parents, two criminals, were killed at last for their crimes. Even Tajan had said he would not have saved her parents even if he could have. Yet, now he’s telling her they would have been proud of her. Tajan saw the sadness that had overcome her features. “Ah, that’s right. You still believe I’m guilty for killing them.”
Chiyou shook her head violently. “No, it’s not that. It’s just...” Tears had started streaming down her face. What was wrong with her? It was just a simple little statement and she was already crying over it. Unable to let Tajan see her, she turned around. He put his arm on his shoulder.
“What is it, then?” He asked gently. That calmed her, a little.
“It’s just...no one...no one ever...” She choked through her sobs. “No one ever told me that they were ever anything good. I heard them, their whispers. They were glad my parents were dead, they said terrible things about them, and now you say they would have been proud of me...”
Tajan understood immediately. Chiyou had never thought she had parents that were good role-models. She had believed, because everybody had led her to believe, even he himself, that her parents were good for nothing scoundrels. Now, for her to hear that her parents would have shown such an emotion for their daughter, who was surely the opposite of what they would have been...It would be hard to accept.
“They would have been proud of their daughter,” he repeated. “They wished for you to be something greater than they had become, and you are Chiyou. You have fulfilled their wish and they would be proud.” Chiyou would not stop shaking with tears. Tajan patted her back and held her. He should have expected she would react this way. He only hoped she came around soon otherwise he would be late for his meeting. He didn’t want to keep them waiting. But it this was also good for Chiyou. She was suffering far more than he had suspected, and if she was going to fulfill the mission he had given her and if she was going to become a Mage, she would need to overcome her inner sorrows.
Slowly, her tears faded away and she eased herself away from Tajan. “Thank you...I just never would have thought...” She became lost in thought and Tajan thought it best not to disturb her. He mounted Kailo and brought him to where Chiyou was standing.
“Come Chiyou-san. We must be off,” Gathering her wits about her, Chiyou scrambled onto Kailo as best she could and held onto Tajan as they continued riding. Taking into account their stop, she calculated they would reach Sar in another day.

This mission was a secret one so no civilians were here to see them off. When the two knights arrived Averey turned to face all of his newly acquired companions and started explaining some things.
"As you all know, Sar is to the west of Marvor. It's not too far off but it will still take us two or three days on foot."
Just as the general was about to continue, six men appear on the road to the castle. They were leading eleven horses. Bewildering expression appeared on Averey's face for the second time today, so he looked at the king. A sincere smile appeared on Thar's face.
"I wouldn't let such important people to walk all that way."
"But my liege. What about the patrols? They need horses and we can't say that we have them in abundance." Averey protested. Now the people who led the horses arrived in front of them.
"This mission is more important than any patrol and you know that. Now off you go, I have some paperwork to do." Thar turns around and enters the castle with Samuel at his side.
Averey shakes his head in denial but nevertheless mounts one of the horses. The rest of them follow and they start making for the west gate. When they reached the gate, Averey, who was at the head of the group, turns his horse.
"Now that we have a ride we could do nothing less than make haste to Sar." With those words Averey's heels hit the horse's ribs and the horse starts galloping. Ethelia smiles slightly and does the same thing. Without a word or any change of expression, Aphelion follows as well as the six soldiers.

Oni came running into the room. "Theys off, theys off." He screamed.
"Which gate?"
"They headed for Sar."
Race jumped up, grabbed the imp, and ran for the door, dropping a bag of coins on the clerks desk on his way out. He ran as fast as his elven inheritance would carry him, and soon was in the trees beside the road, next to the caravan. He hoped from tree to tree, nimble as could be. And then he fell. Landing right in the road in front of the caravan. He rolled over and the only thing he could say was, "Oh, fine day to travel, aye." He slapped himself in the head, and stood up. He turned around, having a feeling he wasn't going to get very far, and started to walk back towards the trees.

Kamui was ridding together in the group of people. He knew most of them only by their look. Those with him were skilled warriors and that he needs to be careful not to screw up. General Averey was in the lead. Of course as it should be. Some elven girl and some man were right behind him. Kamui didn't know the girl. She was probably some high rank soldier so she must be close to a king and his palace , a place where Kamui's path was forbidden. Another man , that was close to that girl was ridding a horse almost perfectly. He saw him a couple of times around the palace, always having serious expression on his face. Even he couldn't see it now ,because Kamui was behind him, he probably had it again. His name was Aphelion as he remembers. Some soldiers said that his swordsmanship was match to general Avery.
As his mind was set on thinking about his fellow companions, Kamui wasn’t careful enough so he got through some branches. They were small ones but they nevertheless formed a small scar on Kamui’s face.
’’Damn it!’’
The two solders that were behind him started to laugh. Then Athelyna came closer to him.
’’ Well, you always wanted war scars right? ’’ She smiled.
Then she passed by him and continued riding forward. Kamui smirks a bit.
Then all of the caravan stopped. It appears some guy rolled over to them.
’’ What a hell…?’’ he thought.

They haven't been galloping for long when something fell from the tree tops. Averey's horse got frightened and stopped abruptly as well as the other horses.
"Oh, fine day to travel, aye." Said the silver-haired elf as he got up. Ethelia recognized him and many suspicions manifested in her head. What was he doing in Marvor? What is he doing here? So she takes out her bow and arrow and aims at the elf.
"I've seen you before! What are you doing here!?" She asked with a strict voice.
Upon seeing that, Aphelion approaches her and places his hand on her bow lowering it down. "Lower your bow woman."
She looks at him morosely but puts away the bow nevertheless. Averey interpreted what Aphelion was trying to do. He wanted for him to talk as he was the leader of this mission. As the elf was walking away, the general calls him.
"Hey elf! What are you doing here by yourself? These roads are dangerous."
All of them had their attention set on the possible threat, the strange elf.

Sykul walked down a main street in Tharia, whistling a toon as Jin sat on his sword with his back against his, sleeping. It was the middle of the day, quiet but peaceful. The road curved to the left and aon the right side was an opening for caravans and travlers, almost identical to the one they walked through. Off into the distance was a small dot, most likely a caravan. As Sykul walked by hes looked towards the caravan remember the vast rumors of thieves and raiders, except Sykul was yet to see even one of the 'many'. His chance seemed to have arrived at that very moment; the caravan was within earshot and seemed to have been swormed with a couple more tiny figures, Sykul couldn't see so well since it was so far away, but it was saef to pressume that these raiders weren't on horses and if they were, they hid them within the trees.
Sykul looked upwards to a soldier looking through a round object as he yelled, "Raiders! Eastern Edge!" Sykul had stopped walking to witness his first raid, excited because he never saw one. Many footsteps and gallops followed the soldiers cry of Raiders, as they rode and ran past Sykul, each of the soldiers starred at him, even if it was for only a moment. Sykul turned facing the caravan and raised his hand to grab his swords handle, until..
"Im thirsty, Sykul." Said Jin.
"Ah, your awake? For how long?"
"Ever since the man in the uniform yelled." Jin replied
"Oh, well, I was thinking of helping them. Should I-"
"No, please. Im thirsty Sykul, im thirsty."
Sykul smiled, "Aye, aye. We get a drink now, shall we?"
Sykul continued to walk down the road that curved. Minutes had past ever since he stopped to witness the raid and the town seemed undisturbed. Sykul began whistling a toon again, Jin shifted on Sykuls' swords shieth for more comfort.
"Thats strange.." Said Jin.
"Hmm?"
"All of the people are leaving the road for the one man, and that one man has a bunch of the uniformed men rnuning after him."
"You dont say, Jin. Wich way is he heading?"
"This way. Sykul, im scared."
Sykul did not like hearing those things from Jin, "Im scared" "He hurt me", any sentence from Jin's mouth that wasn't a good one, Sykul grew angry. Sykul lowered his brow and squinted his eyes in anger, "You never have to fear anyone as long as im hear. I will make sure no body ever hurts you again, Jin." Sykul turned around, looking at the man Jin was talking about. He wore a bandana over his mouth and wielded a short knife. I Promise no one will Ever hurt you again, Jin. Thought Sykul.
The man ran closer and closer, and with each step, he drew his knife higher and higher. The raider was at leaste a foot and a half smaller than Sykul, and possed no threat, even with that knife he wielded. The raider reached Sykul, and held his knife high above his head, ready to swing. Before the raider could swing, Sykul reached out and grabbed the Raiders face and rabbed his fingers around his tiny head. The sudden stop, along with his running momentom, cause the raider to fall onto his back, while moving towards Sykul. Sykul put a foot onto the mans chest with a loud *Thump*, dirt rose around thae fallen mans body as he gasped for air. The soldiers (uniformed men for Jin) caught up, and out of breathe.
Sykul turned around and continued his walk for a tavern, Jin saw the aftermath.
"Well, its a good thing we stoped him!" Said Jin, smilling.
"Yup, if we didn't stop him, he could of gotten away."
"Well Sykul, since I did all the work, that means your buying the drinks!" Said Jin laughing.
"I guess so. I guess so." Sykul replied, laughing as well.
Sykul enjoyed making Jin laugh, and making him happy. It made him feel good. Soon they found a tavern, entered and sat down for some drinks. A waitress came by and welcomed them. She was in her late 40's possibly early 50's and seemed like she knew this place in and out. The typical "If you need to know anything, go to this person" kind of person.
"Howdy strangers. The names Mary. How may I help you toodah?" She said.
Mary had a strange accent, but was fairly nice.
"I'll have some water." Said Sykul, "And he'll have..?"
Jin rose his ehad to look at the woman, "Hi, I'll have some water too please." He said smiling, innocently.
"Well, you sure have some pretty eyes, little one. I wish mine were as pretty as yours." Mary said with a smile.
"You really think they're pretty? You really do?" Said Jin, excited.
'Well of course! You don't see many people with pretty red eyes. Now do you?" Mary walked off to go fill the order, leaving them alone.
"Wow, oh wow! She thinks they're pretty!." Says Jin smilling, "While she get our orders Sykul, I will be over there," pointing towards a table where other children sat playing cards, "playing with them, if you dont mind."
Sykul smiled, "I'll tell you when she's done."
Jin rose from his seat and jogged off to the table of children. He sat, as he was immediatly accepted into the game without any trouble or hesitation. Mary came back, but not with the drinks.
"Hey'ya, uhmm," She hesitated for a moment, "you know what he is, don't you?"
"Hmmm, a Child perhaps?" Sykul replied bamboozaled at the question.
Mary sighed, "May I sit down?"
"Be my guest." Sykul replied.
Mary sat down, "His red eyes, ever wonder why they are red?"
"No, I never put a second thought into it." Said Sykul, Mary sighed.
"I'll tell you, so your pre-warned." Sykul rose an eyebrow, "It's mostly a dead and forgotten race, the name was forgotten along with its people. To put it in simple terms mister, Red Eyes are a race of mages wizards, warlocks and witches, with exceptionaly strong power. However, the price for that power, is the span of their life. Most Red Eyes dont like past 40, they are lucky to even have enough time to raise their own children."
"How do you know so much about-?" Sykul was cut off.
"Let me finish lad.. ...He's proably the last anyway. I haven't seen or heard of any of them for years now. Don't get him angry."
Jin approached them, "Hi Mary! Are our drinks ready?"
"Yup, going to get them now." She said with a smile.
Mary rose and smiled at Jin as she left, her gaze grew seroise has she looked at Sykul. The hairs on the back of Sykuls neck rose at the sight.
"Never have I been threatened like that. And it seemed so seroise."

Race stopped dead in their in his tracks and turned around. "Alright, you want to know what I am doing here." He smiled at them and looked around to make sure there was nobody else around.
"I noticed this Caravan a few days ago, and over heard some things you could say. I also happen to have a very unique ability, so, I thought I might help with the escort in secret. Then Clumsy me got lost in thought, and fell out of the tree." He smiled again, then the imp popped out of his bag.
"Ahh air, you know how damn......" His voice trailed off as he noticed the group of people.
"Thanks to Oni here, I know just about everything, and I thought I might just help find this great threat you speak of." His expresion got serious, and he bowed down on one knee, spirits apeared around him, and did the same. "Allow us to help in any way we can." He looked up at the beautiful elven woman and smiled again. "We will do what we can to help this country. Please allow me to prove my worth to my country. I have never had this kind of chance." He stood and the spirits vanished. "Tell me what you say to my offer, or plead, however you may look at it." Again he smiled and scratched the back of his head out of embaressment.

General Avery and the others around him came closer to the elf that was on the ground. Kamui was on the horse a little away from them so he didn't hear what that elf was saying. He noticed that Ethelia was saying something, and her prepare for battle… as it looked. And then Kamui saw Aphelion approaching to her, lowering her bow and saying something to her.
’’ Hmph, show off…’’ Kamui mumbles
’’ Let’s go hear what they are saying’’ Athelyna suggested
’’ Why? I don’t care what they are talking about. The general will decide what to do with him.’’ Kamui says that showing some boredom on his face
'' Sometimes you can really go on people's nerves. Have you no interest at all?'' asked the elven woman
Kamui didn't answer that. Athelyna nevertheless came closer to others that were near that elf. Kamui stayed behind.

Averey frowned slightly and watched the elf kneel and plead. The vague spirits around him made it clear that he was a necromancer. He was not fond of necromancers. They animate a few dead and get tired, while those undead are fragile and can be used only as a distraction. He has seen a number of necromancers on the field of battle, raising the dead just to shield themselves. He considered it to be a dastardly act.
"I am not fond of your kind necromancer, but if your intention is true and sincere, than I will welcome you in my ranks due to the grim situation. There is only a simple rule for you to follow. Know your place and mind your manners while you are in my company." Then Averey turned around to face his companions. "Kamui, let the elf ride with you."
Cautious as always, Aphelion was looking around so he can be prepared for an ambush. For all he knew, this elf could be just a diversion.

Kamui's boredom was broken by general Averey's command.
''Kamui, let the elf ride with you." He says
Those words shocked Kamui. He squeezed his hands out of anger because that idea was not likeable to him. Why did he had to give that command. He could order that some other soldier ride with that elf. Kamui though that this is because he is good enough to watch over him or is this the fastest way to get rid of him. Nevertheless Kamui wanted to object.
’’ Sir, I…’’ Kamui wonted to say something but then he looks at Athelyna who shakes her head as a warning not to do it. Kamui stopped for a second and decided to do what Athelyna wanted. Not to question generals decision.
’’ Very well sir, as you command’’ Kamui says loud and clear
He turned his head to elf and said:
’’C’mon you dead man…elf, whatever, you will ride with me. Just…don’t talk too much ok?’’
After saying that he lowers his hand towards the elf to help him mount the horse.

Race looked at the man apparently unhappy, "No need, I have brought my own steed," The elves clothes and appearace changed to fit those of a fine wood elven ranger, though he still looked about the same. He let a loud, very high pitched whistle, and soon, a beautiful, black and white horse, came galloping up.
"I am not just a necromancer, but ah, I am as well a man of the fairei magic," He mumbled to himself, hoping on top of his horse, and heading to back of the group where the elven woman he noticed the other day was. He drew his blade to make sure that its sapphire blade was not harmed, and the ruby handle in place. Though his previous weapon he had just carried was a simple staff, this was a fine, sharp, and powerful blade. He sheathed it beside his black wooded bow, inside of his enchanted green quiver. "Good, everything is just fine." He looked up at the serious looking man, "I am sure you like me not, but only raise those who have given me permision, and wish to fight for a cause again. Even if it be only temperary. You see, I respect the dead, and nature as well. It is all so, kind in nature. By the way, I am Race Sinful, the only half bred between drows and those of the woods. I brag not, but tell me, who are you?" He smiled that smile again, and looked up, it appeared as though, it was going to rain. So, as part of his custom, he brought out a magical harp, and began to play a calm tune, that made the rain seem so kind, and gentle.

Kamui was surprised when he saw that elf calling his own horse. He didn’t like the idea of him riding a horse with that elf but he didn’t like that elf riding on his own ether.
’’ I see, everybody likes to show off their powers these days. ’’ he says to himself
Elf spoke few sentences to Kamui. Others were listening in. Athelyna knew that this elf will be helpful. A necromancer is a better ally then enemy. But she decided to trust him for now.
Elf was named Race. When he asked Kamui his name he answered.
’’ I’m Kamui Windchester, and that’s all you need to know. You are right I don’t like you, so quit slowing us down and let’s go already! ’’
Athelyna came closer to Kamui and she told him to shut up for who knows how many times.
’’Kamui don’t be such a jerk. Please forgive him Race. He should learn his place too. I’m Athelyna, if you are truly an ally then I welcome you but if you are not I pray that you will die in a most horrible way if you betray us. Even you should know that these days trust is not so easily given.’’ Says the elven woman. The rain started and and Race took out magical harp and began playing. The tune was very pleasant to elf’s ears.
Kamui didn’t comment on Race’s playing. He just wanted to get this mission on the way.

There was no one else in the woods around them. Aphelion looked carefully for any signs and didn't find any. It was then when the rain started. Calm, summer rain. He liked it, but the canopy blocked most of it. Then the halfbreed asked for their names and started playing a harp. Kamui and Athelyna were the first ones to say theirs. Ethelia looked at the elf and introduced herself as well.
"Ethelia Excelsior." Then she turned her head to face Aphelion to urge him to introduce himself.
At first looking at her scolding look and then looking up into the tree canopy, Aphelion says his name as well. "Aphelion... Excelsior."
Also, the six other soldiers introduced themselves and then general Averey, as the manners propose, the last.
"My name is Averey Erchembaut. I am the general of the king's armies and the leader of this...", he stopped for the moment and then started again. "Expedition." He said expedition because he didn't want to reveal everything to the newcomer. "Now if you are all ready, we should be off."

Race laughed to himself, already knowing everything there is know about this "caravan" and its purpose. As he played his harp, the cannopy began to open up, allowing the cool summer rain to fall through. Race then listened as the others gave their names. "General Averey," he said out loud to himself. "I've heard that name before, from one of my clients." He continued to mumble as they went on their way for Sar, there he would have to meet up with his most previous client, though he knew not her name, drow outside of the underground caverns, was most unusual.
Soon the rain stopped, and the group came across a fork in the road. Race thought he sensed a necromancer, though, it could just be just him. He shrugged his shoulders, and followed the group, as they continued for Sar. "Oiy, where are headed again, just out of curiosity."

Rain created a humid and fresh air. It was nice to breathe that air especially if it had a beautiful smell coming from some lime-trees. All of that could easily make one let his guard down, which was not what Averey did. He remained concentrated. That is when the halfbreed asked where they are going to.
"Sar. One of Marvor's provinces." Averey responded without much interest in his voice.
During the journey, not many of them talked. Mostly, six soldiers talked amongst themselves. Obviously, they all knew each other. It took them whole day to get to Sar. It wasn't long considering that they would be traveling 3 days on foot. Occasional gallops and short brakes of about twenty minutes enabled them to arrive to Sar on nightfall. Only Averey knew about the female mage and that when she arrives she is to come to the inn, so he led the group there and rented four rooms.
"The ladies will have a room with two beds. Race, Kamui, Aphelion and myself will have a room with four beds. And you six will divide into two rooms of three beds." Averey organized them.
"Yes sir." One of the soldiers replied.
"Everyone, take a seat somewhere. We will have dinner and go to bed. We need rest for tomorrow." Averey instructed.

After Race had finished eatling, he headed up to his room. He sat there for most of the night playing his harp, or talking the dead of Sar. Soon, it was midnight. It was time for him to meet his client, the one he had killed all of those raiders for. He headed out of the tavern, and headed for a small shop where they sold different objects used for the dark arts.
He entered the room and walked up to the counter. "One dead imp, and a bottle to go." He knew it was tacky, and understood not the meaning behind it, but it was the password to tell the drow his work was done. The imp jumped over the counter, and ran over to beautiful drow women as she approached.
"Master," it shreiked and jumped up to her, just to be greated by the back of her hand.
"Ah, Race Sinful, the greatest of Necromancers, or at least as far as I am concerned," She approached him and kissed him on the cheek.
"Don't flatter me ma'am, I am simply here to collect." Race gave a cold stair, he did not trust her, and she knew it.
"Isn't it time, you learned my name." he nodded, "It is Ilria, I am the high preistess of the Drows, and the high powered Necromancess. Yet, you are still better than me. Is it because you are kind to the dead, or that you are simply skilled."
Race shook his head, "Ilria aye, well, I have come across something interesting, I think you would be interested to know that there is a secret force out there, that has been attacking caravans. Due to this, not many travel anymore." Race looked around the room. "Perhaps, you would to join us."
He returned to the room, and went to bed, that night, he had that dream, of when his parents where killed.

Tajan rolled his eyes. He didn’t think he could put up with much more of this. At first it was cute, then within an hour it was annoying, but now that it continued it plain old irritated him. He shook Chiyou, waking her.
“Are you having a good dream? Or a nightmare?” Chiyou stared at him blankly, her mouth slightly open. “You were muttering in your sleep.” She just sat there, staring back at him, uncomprehending. Tajan sighed. Well, at least she was awake now, for they were at the gates to the city of Sar. “You’ll need to regain your composer, for we will be in the company of the King’s guard.”
“*Eep*” Chiyou squeaked. “What? King who?” Tajan stopped Kailo. Whatever Chiyou was doing wasn’t funny anymore.
“Are you seriously alright?” He stared at Chiyou. Then he realized what was wrong. The mirage she had created had actually been too much for her to handle. She was going through a small stage of amnesia, but he didn’t know how serious it was. “Do you know my name?”
She nodded, almost drunkenly. “Of course. You killed my parents. You’re the mage, Tajan.”
This was bad. They were a few hours away from the main inn in Sar where they were to meet the King’s guard, and she had forgotten about eleven years of her life. “You are a mage as well, Chiyou. Don’t you remember?”
She shook her head. “I...I do feel restraint in my mind...” She paused for a moment then laughed. “but I can’t possibly cast. You said so yourself.”
Tajan almost burst into tears. His own apprentice, the first one he had ever found with true potential had forgotten who she was. He should never have let her begin her journey on her own. He should have heeded the worries in his mind instead of falling to pride, his pride in Chiyou’s abilities. The worst thing that could ever happen to a mage is that they cast far beyond their experience. Results of this were usually just weaknesses in limbs, but the most severe cases were amnesia, where a person truely forgot who they were and what they had done. Chiyou seemed to have a very severe case. He had to bring her up to speed before her meeting with the guard for caravans.
But maybe...maybe this would be a good thing. Maybe this way she could control her hate. He would need to re-educate her on her life, but maybe this time around she could come to a greater understanding on why things went the way they did. No one ever got a second chance at life, but maybe he could help Chiyou recover herself.
However, Tajan still felt guilty. He had known Chiyou could not control her power. He knew she might run into danger on her journey. Well, he thought to himself. There’s no point dwelling on the past. Either I can help her now and explain things to the one in command of this expedition, or I can just let go of her completely. I would not be human if I just killed her like that. I’m the only one who can help her, and I am the only one who should. This is my fault, my responsibility. She can be saved, and I’m sure she can still cast, even in the state she is in.
Reluctantly, he rode Kailo into the city of Sar. He tied his horse to a post outside of the inn before realizing he could actually put Kailo in the stable. Calling for a stable-hand, he had Kailo shepherded into the stable. That left him with Chiyou, who was waiting patiently for him.
“Where are we going, Tajan-san?”
”Into the inn,” he said, thankful she could still speak. “We will be meeting some people.”
Taking her by the shoulder he walked into the inn where he saw a group of soldiers standing readily, waiting. Hoping the commander could understand the situation, he took Chiyou in, with his arm still around the shoulder. He had his doubts though. It probably would have given the guard more confident in their meeting the mages if Tajan and Chiyou had each walked in on their own, not needing the support of each other. But, he hoped Chiyou could prove to them that she was capable, as she had proven to him. Or had he just been clouded by personal fantasies? Was she really that great of a mage?

Everyone sat down and ate their dinner. There wasn't much of the conversation. When Kamui finished eating he left for his room. Some were still dining but he didn't want to tag along any further. The innkeeper showed Kamui to shared room. He was the first one there. He picked the bed in the left corner. He put his sword down and some of his stuff that he carried. It was a small bag that contained the usual things. He lied down for a bit, but he couldn't sleep. He put his sword on the bed so others will know that he choose this one. He left for some frash air.
The battles that are to come made him excited. This is his big chance so he must not blow it.
As he is training to be a paladin, it's his job to know people. He sensed that Race knows something that he doesn't. Kamui sat somewhere among the trees in front of the inn. He stayed there for a few hours thinking...
At the midnight the door to the inn opened and Race came out. Kamui was covered in dark so that necromancer couldn't see him. He went to the tavern. Kamui came out of the shadows into the light in front of the inn. He didn't follow Race, he just watched him as he entered.
'' I can't belive this guy. He acctualy appears as he never been around the people. Does he really think that he won't be seen. Elfs had sensed him already and general Averey is no fool. I wonder why he didn't tell us about this. Whatever, I'll just keep my eye on him. If he tries to trick us he won't be the summoner of the dead anymore, he will be the one that is summoned heh''
Kamui smiled a bit and puts his hands into his pockets. He returns to his room.

Hours had passed, maybe even days....Dead imps, goblins, banshee, fenrirs, and many other hellish creatures littered the snow covered plains of the Benedix Province, yet still the battle raged on and many other creatures kept pouring out of Memoria Forest. If Ethan hadn't known any better he could've sworn that the whole population of beasts in Memoria Forest were waging war on the castle. Vincent was still missing in action and Ethan was concentrating almost all efforts on finding him, cuttin down any opposition in the way. Unfortunately, he was practically no where to be found. Perhaps he had went to Tharia for help, the nearest town in Tharia from the current location was Sar, it was about 5 days south of the Gedhon border where the Benedix Province was located. However, it was quite doubtful considerin the large amount of enemies that were before them. Ethan was exhausted, injured and his hopes were fading fast.
There are 8 elite guards of Benedix in total, 5 are on a mission, a top secret mission, 1 was inside the castle training new recruits and of course wouldn't be bothered by a task such as this. Then, there was Ethan and Vincent, both were in the top 3 strongest elite guards, these 8 warriors are the strongest in all of Benedix next to Lord Viktor himself, who was by far the strongest. These elite warriors were officially ordained as the Order of the Twilight Knights. A crusade of elite officers that lead the 8 seperate brigade branches of military in Gedhon. Each one had a post in seperate provinces, but things have changed. Now, they were constantly on missions. Unfortunately, this left Ethan to this problem.
Ethan had just dodged another fireblast from a banshee before he broke out of thought and charged at the direction of the projectile, his injured shin and shoulder was lowering his mobility considerably. The fight with the banshee took alot longer than most of his previous encounters. He substained yet another injury to the head before finally cutting his foe asunder. He looked up towards the sky, clearly exposing the large amounts of blood protruding from the bottom of both eyes now taking the form of acursed scar marks that he'll have for the rest of his days. His nose was bleeding, there was a large gash in is left shoulder where a goblin had come down on it with their spiked club. There were large teeth marks where a fenrir has taken a bite out of his shin. Ethan fell to his knees, glared up towards the midnight moon. Suddenly, he looked at the ground, a drop of blood had just dropped and hit the ground like rain hits the sea. He looked straight ahead were a group of enemies were runnin towards him and in that moment a flicker of red could be seen in his eyes with black swirls in the middle and black outlining...

Ilria paced around the outside of the in. She knew Race had no choice but to let her join, the imp was hers, and would have told her everthing. Plus, the Drows also beleive that there was a menace around. Their caravans had all vanished without a trace, except a couple of their best guards. Besides, she loved Race, and he had worked for her for almost his entire life. Now it was her turn to help out. She entered the inn, and found the general, who was still down stairs.
"Excuse me, General, I have something I must ask of you. You see, that imp that was with Race, belongs to me, and well, I know everthing. I was just wandering if you would allow a top drow enchantress, to join your men. You see, the drow are also curious of the raids of the raids that have occured, and I am the drow high preistess, the second in power among the drow world. It is only fair if I am involved in this mission. Besides, if these theories are true, you use all the help you can get.

OOC: Drow are considered enemies of every race. However, halfbreeds, although rare, can be accepted into society. Also, it is still night, not morning. Don't jump over the plot!
Downstairs, after he finished his meal, Aphelion was sitting on the chair, leaned against the wall with his legs on the table, relaxing. Six soldiers were still dining and Averey was at the bar relaxing with the drink. Sitting at the table Aphelion was at, Ethelia was finishing her meal as well. That is when a female drow entered. Aphelion frowned but didn't move. He didn't know what to think. Six soldiers stopped eating but they also didn't move in bewilderment. The drow approached Averey and started talking. Looking at her, and frowning more and more, Averey unsheaths one of his longswords and points it at the drow. Ethelia and the six soldiers took out their weapons and surrounded the drow, while Aphelion remained in the same position.
With a cold, bleak and a voice filled with animosity, Averey started, without paying attention to what she had said. "I simply cannot grasp the answer why you would come here drow, and I do not care. The only thing I should do now is to cut you down where you stand. But, I will give you a chance to leave this place, the chance many would not give. Now heed my words drow, get out of here before I change my mind." His face was dead serious.
At that moment, a short black-haired man and a girl with long black hair enter the inn. Everyone were concentrated at the drow and failed to notice the two standing at the doorstep.

Tajan stopped as he entered the inn. There was an air of hostility in the room. He looked around and saw a group of soldiers staring angrily from their chairs, oblivious to his and Chiyou’s presence. Tajan was confused, then he realized what they were staring at. It was a drow, an enemy among any race. Though, he had never met one until now.
“Uhnn,” Chiyou said, surprising him again. Her eyes rolled back into her head and her palm glowed white. No, this couldn’t happen, not in front of so many, especially a drow.
“Chiyou, listen to me!” He grabbed Chiyou’s hand before it unleashed a fire ball straight at the general. He had grabbed her in time for the fire ball to hit the ceiling instead. “Control it!” Her urged. Her eyes snapped shut.
“It burns, it burns! Tajan-san...You killed them...!” This was bad, Tajan thought. From her moans he could tell she was reliving the day her parents were killed. She never saw their deaths, but she herself was tortured as well. Soldiers had taken her and placed her in a remote room. They had then taken a burning stick and blinded her in her right eye, but they didn’t do a good enough job. She could still see from it, but not very well. Since she was a child they didn’t kill her, but they did leave wounds, scars on her body.
Doing the only thing he knew might bring her back, Tajan hugged her. He felt embarrassed doing so in front of the others, but since they may not have noticed them yet, he did what was necessary. Chiyou’s mumbling stopped and she dropped into unconciousness.

Kamui was laying on his bed. He was sleeping. These were the times that one such as him would have nightmares over his past. But not this one. He dreamt nothing. He was sleeping calm as he had no worries. The room was filled with just a small breeze of air that was going through a opened window. Then, silence was broken by some noise. It sounded like a weak explosion.
Kamui opened his eyes and quickly jumped of the bed. He took his rather heavy sword and looked around the room. No one was in it except him. Kamui rushed to exit his room. Some people were also geting up and filling the hallway with their presence. It seems like they too, were awaken by that sound.
'' Downstairs...'' Kamui says that to himself
He then hurried through hallway to get to the stairs that led down. When he was at the half of the way down he stopped himself to see what was happening. Some man holding a girl, a drow, and Kamui's fellow members ready for a battle.

Sykul got up from his seat, stood up and stretched. His sword hilted on his back clanged and knocked against his chair, causing a few drunks to stir in their slumber. Jin still sat with the children at a far table in the corner, playing cards still. Do they ever tire? Sheesh, thought Sykul. He looked at Mary who was sitting behind the counter slipping her fingers through her hair in boredum.
"Eh, Hem." Said Sykul, trying to get her attension. She looked at him. Sykul made a head jesture towards his table, knowing when he's going to get his bill. Mary, then looked towards Jin playing cards, he was smilling and laughing with the other boys. She looked back at Sykul and nugded her head towards the door. Sykul didn't argue, he turned towards the table where Jin sat and played and started walking towards it. Jin probably heard him coming because he put down his cards, and stood up and walk to Sykul. They met mostly half-way, Jin looked up at Sykul.
"Time to go?" Asked Jin. Sykul nodded and turned around.
Jin climbed up upon Sykuls' back and nestled himself ontop of his swords shieth. They walked past Mary, Sykul turned his head and nodded. He walked out the door and stared blaknly at the night sky, "It's going to be a beautiful day tomorrow, Sykul." Said Jin, looking up, the same as Sykul. "Aye." He replied. Sykul began to walk around town, aimlessly for minutes, and minutes turned to an hour. Jin was asleep, Sykul could hear his continous steady breathing, the way you breath when your asleep. Sykul smiled at the though, Jin sleeping means he feels safe. It was dark, hard to see, but it was barable, it was probably late. Sykul heard a low trotting sound, several horses were near.
What could horsemen be doing at this hour of the night?[
The trot's dissapeard in the light fog that settled slowly. Where could of it have gone? Sykul searched for the horses, having nothing better to do. Looking for where they stopped or paused for a break of some sort. This continued for nearly an hour until Sykul found himself about fourty feet away from an inn with its lights on. Bingo
As big as Sykul was, he still attempted to be stealthy when approaching the inn. Two people were standing in the door, hugging, so Sykul when around to the side and decided to take a peek inside. What he saw shocked him, several soldiers had their swords drawn, all at the same person, circling him or her. There was another soldier sitting, but he was not as in armor as the rest, a higher rank possibly. Across on the other side of the room was a set of stairs going up, and a person on them, looking at the current situation just as Sykul was. Confused.
The person on the stairs shot a look at Sykul's window, scared, Sykul ducked under hoping not to be seen. Damn! I better go hide now. I think he saw me. Sykul began to walk out of the side alley and back into the street. On his way out, he tripped and outstreched his arms to break his fall. Sykul caught onto a table hidden in the darkness, but hit off the metal containers upon it, making a lot of noise. However, the two at the door seemed to have entered.
"Im tired, Sykul. Please get a room at that inn behind you." Jin said faintly. The noise must of woke him slightly.
"Sure, but first, come here. Let me carry you in my arms for awhile. It's late and it might be more comfortable for you. Okay?" Sykul said softly.
"Oh.. Kay" Responded Jin, slowly. Jin climbed over Sykuls broad shoulders and slid down the front of his chest into his arms.
He's so light. I wonder if I feed him enough. Sykul worried over that thought as he walked to the front of the inn.
Sykul walked in on light feet, he walked through the door and the same two people were still hugging, except Sykul realized this wasn't your ordinary 'I love you' hug. The taller indevidual was cradling the smaller, younger one and whispering words to him or her. They ignored Sykuls entrance. Sykul found an empty table across from the 'scene' with the armed guards, near the stairs with the man who might have spotted him. Sykul sat down and stared at Jin, sleeping. He was smilling, Sykul held Jin in his right hand and arm while using his left to unlatch his sword from his back. The sword dropped from his back, still incased inside its shieth and hit the floor with a Bang. However, this did not disturb Jin, but rather the other 'guests'.

Race Jumped awake from the bang, he sat up, and headed down the stairs. There, in the middle of a ring of guards, he saw Ilria. "What where you thinking," he said to himself.
"I am stubborn human, must I explain again, so that you may understand." Ilria walked past the guards, who where stunned at the sight of her, and she took a seat.
"You couldn't use your damn magic to disguise yourself, could you," Race yelled at the her. This got the attention of the crowd as well. "She is one of my clients, I am a hired head hunter who hunts down raiders. She hired me to track down this group of raiders you guys are after, the raiders have also been attacking Drows." He sighed, things have just gotten to complecated for him, oh well. "She has been trying to get a meeting with the king, to sign a peice treaty between the land races, and the underground races, like the drows, and gray dwarves. If you wish it, she is willing to conseal her appearance, to make her look like a light elf, but if not, she will go now." He looked at her with a very serious look, then he noticed the girl that had launced the fireball, then out of the corner of his eye, he saw a sleeping boy, and another older boy, not paying much attention to whats going on. He looked back the group.
"Do except my proposel, if not, then I shall go, and you may keep the imp, I know of everthing, but I will not tell. I am a preistess, and to lie, is not my way, even if I am Drow." She looked at the general, a plain, expressionless face. "So."

It was as if all the years of discipline had payed off, Averey manages not to cut down the female drow with that much of audacity. Then a fireball hit the ceiling but Averey, as well as the soldiers kept his eyes on the drow. Aphelion however, looked the way from where the fireball came. A girl falling unconscious and a fairly short man holding her. Strange. It must have been that man. He thought.
Then the halfbreed came and explained about the raiders, and the drow yet again asked to join them. What really hit him was the audacity when she said that she would like to talk to the king.
"Race, I do not think that you know anything about these raiders for every agent we sent to find the culprit has failed." Then he looks at the drow. "Ilria, if I'm not mistaken. I simply cannot trust your words and the ridiculous request to speak to the king does not even come into consideration. Humans might not see through your disguise but the elves most definitely would. If, by some chance, you speak the truth, than surely the next time we meet we will speak in a more friendly manner." Averey sheaths his sword and the rest follow. "Until then, you still are the enemy of my kind, so I ask you to leave this place."

Ilria sighed and turned away and she walked towards the door, "Oh, I will be watching you, perhaps when trouble comes upon you, I will show you my trustworthiness." She left the imp with Race, and left.
Race looked up while holding the imp by its ears, it just sitting there and frowning. "And might they be," he asked himself heading over to the two boys. He sat down next to them and looked at the older, nonsleeping one of the two. "Who might you be, you seem to be a rather curious boy," He said sarcastically, "Oh well, I am Race Sinful, user of both Necromancy, and the magic that gives life to all the world, storms element." He smiled at the boy and sat there, waiting patiently. This boy seemed to be stronger than one might think, and he had determination, more than even Race. He guesed it was to protect the younger boy.

Tajan felt Chiyou slump down unconsious in his arms. Standing up, he made his way through the standing people, carrying her to the stairs. A few people were staring at him from nearby tables, but he hoped he had not caused a great commotion. Climbing up the stairs, he stopped at the first room to the left and opened the door.
He laid Chiyou down on the bed and walked over to the desk in the room, not bothering to shut the door. Even though he knew the technical reasons for her collapes, he still didn’t truely understand it. Maybe she was under stress. But under stress from what? The reasons escaped him, so he thought he would just wait and when she woke up he would ask her about it. Then he remembered that was a silly idea. How could she tell him? The reason why he doesn’t know is because she can’t tell him.
Sighing, his head fell down on his desk with a bang and he didn’t pick it back up. He felt so stupid right now. He remembered the group of soldiers downstairs. He supposed that one of them was General Averey. That made him feel even worse. The thought that he had probably just embarrassed himself in front of an army general with such high esteem made him feel drowsy. Since Chiyou had custody of the bed, he fell asleep where he was at, but forgot to close the room door.

OOC: It's general Averey, who is an NPC. Aphelion is my character and is just a ranger.
IC:
When the drow left, Averey finished his drink and went to his room. On the way there he notices an opened door. Looking inside was impolite but he felt the urge to do so. There he saw a man sleeping at the table. On the bed was a girl. At that moment Averey remembered the young female mage they were supposed to meet. But as the letter said she would be alone so Averey closes the door and goes to sleep in his room next door.
Aphelion fell asleep downstairs in the same position, sitting at the table, leaned against the wall with his feet on the table. Soon after Averey left, the six soldiers followed as well as Ethelia. All of them fell asleep rather quickly due to the tiring journey they had endured.
It was morning and Averey, as usual, got up early. When he got downstairs he saw Aphelion finishing his breakfast.
"You slept here?" He asked.
"Yes." Aphelion gives a simple answer.
There was nothing more he could talk to him about so he orders a breakfast and sits at the same table as Aphelion.

Kamui only watched at what was going on. Some man started to carry a girl upstairs. Kamui moved on the side to let the man pass more easily. As he past by, Kamui looked at the general Avery. He knew that he is being careful and that letting drow go was a good choice. But he wandered what if the drow was right. What if the roads are too dangerous now that making the old conflicts became the forgotten ones would be a good idea. But he shouldn't doubt general...
After that Kamui returned to his room and went to sleep.
Athelyna was downstairs with the general when all those events accurred. After that she went to her bed too. She got up early though. After she god dressed up she went to dinning room. She noticed Aphelion who was still sleeping. He didn’t move an inch from last night. She went outside to get some fresh air.
She heard a sword swinging and went behind the inn. There she found innkeeper drying a laundry and Kamui practicing with his sword. He put the sword on the ground and started doing push ups. She came closer to him and said:
’’ You are up early. Even before general. Are you that nervous?’’
’’ No, I’m trying to stay in shape. Is that a crime? ‘’ he asked while he trained
’’ Well, you will be all sweaty now. What will you do?’’ she asked
’’ Don’t worry, there is a lot of hot water in the house. Since you fine people are doing a honorable things it is a least I can do for a fine soldier like him self ’’ said the innkeeper
Kamui stopped with the exercises and took his sword. He turned his head toward Athelyna and says:
’’ I’ll go and take a quick bath. Tell general I’ll be right there.’’ With that said, Athelyna turned around and returned to the inn. Just as she entered she saw general Averey that is already awoke.
The breakfast was ready and she sat down to eat. She looked at the general and said
’’ Kamui is taking a bath, he will be here shortly’’

Chiyou woke up early that morning. It must not have even been dawn yet, for the sun was not up. Curious of her surroundings, she glanced around the room. Could she still be in Tajan’s room? Surely her parents would come for her soon. Maybe she should just wait here for them. But...an empty feeling in her gut began to bother her. This was not Tajan’s room. It couldn’t be. Or was it? She saw a man at the desk, asleep. She could not see his face though. She had heard stories of Tajan, and she was sure that pitiful looking man could not be him. Getting up, she stumbled to the door and opened it.
She found herself in a short corridor. Rooms were lined up against the wall, all the way down the hall. Curiosity moved her to slightly push open one of the room’s doors. No one was in it. Reason crept up into her mind and she heard a voice telling her that doing so was improper. She felt like a child right now. Wasn’t she though? She was waiting for her parents to come back, to see if they were alive. What reason could she have for not feeling like a child? But she knew somehow that her parents were dead, though she hadn’t seen them yet.
Collapsing to her knees, Chiyou grabbed her head. Trembling, she began to sob. She didn’t understand what was going on. Her parents died when she was seven, she was fourteen now. What was wrong with her? I’m in the inn at Sar, she convinced herself. I can’t forget my life! But mom and dad...they haven’t come back yet. Where are they? Why did they kill them? Chiyou pushed the seven year old self of her to the back of her mind. No, go away, you shouldn’t be here! You died, you died seven years ago. I don’t need you!
But the younger voice persisted. Who are you to tell me to go away? You’re the one possessing my body. I should have you leave! Chiyou cried out in anguish. She wanted the voice to go away, she didn’t want anybody else in her head where they could see her thoughts, feel her emotions. She felt naked to the world. Standing up, she held onto her head in her hand as she carefully walked down the steps. Seeing a door open to the outside, Chiyou walked out, crying in relief as a cool breeze met her face.
The air felt so good. A part of her felt like it was unbound from the recesses of her mind. Laughing, she remembered her magical talents. Not even you have these, she taunted the other voice in her head. It snarled at her, trying to gain control of her concious. Struggling, Chiyou focused her magic into her palms. A dark red orb formed in her hands. Losing strength, she fell to her knees. She forgot that she hadn’t enough power as it was, for her strength had been drained in creating the mirage.
A terrible thought struck her heart like an anvil. The mirage. That had to be it. In order to cast, a mage took of themselves. Be it their body, mind, or physical strength, a mage could not cast without giving a piece of themself in return. She had not only successfully created a mirage, she had twined it with her. She had created another entity within herself. She became fearful, for she did not want this other being, she did not want another self. The very thought of it frightened her. Becoming pale, she released the orb and her body felt like a wave of cold water swept over her. The strength returning to her body felt so good.
You can’t get rid of me. Chiyou’s hand flew up to her head. Go away, she told her echo. Go away, I don’t need you. The other voice laughed. Then why did you make me if you didn’t need me, hmm? Answer that question, and then I’ll leave. I didn’t mean to make you, Chiyou said, frustrated. I never-The other voice laughed at her again, sending a chill down her spine. Not good enough, it replied.
Tears flowed down Chiyou’s face and her body shook with uncontrollable sobs. Biting her lip, she held back her tears. She needed to remain calm. Tajan needed to know that he could still count on her for his task he gave her. She would fight the invader in her mind on her own. Tajan would not need to know, it would only worry him. She feared he concerned himself over her too much as it was. Standing up, Chiyou rubbed her eyes. They were mostly dry now, if a bit wet yet.
