Full Version: What do you guys want Kingdom Hearts III to be like?

Well, I've recently been watchin through YouTube Videos, reading up on wikipedia and etc about Kingdom Hearts II cause I miss the storyline, but I distinctly remember HATING the game.

I loved Kingdom Hearts II because of it's own storyline involving Sora/Riku, Roxas, Organization XIII etc. But I hated the game because there was so much Disney. Except for the end of the game, every world (Except Traverse Town) is some Disney World, and you basically just replay the Disney movies, it was so annoying.

So, I look at Kingdom Hearts III as a chance for the game to become a little more independent from Disney. In terms of characters and storyline I don't have a CLUE what might happen, but I DO know what I don't want it to be: A Disney game
YourSweet666
Most of the worlds in the first one were Disney as well. It's not that bad, the only problem I have with it is when they put in stupid annoying worlds like Wonderland that are basically the same room at about 20 different angles.

Other than that I liked the Disney side of things, sure I'd like some original worlds but as long as the Disney worlds are decent it's not a total loss.

Anyway, I'd guess the third one will be more or less the same as the first two. There hasn't been anything released on the game yet so we can't really know what to expect.
Ragnarok
I still haven't even had a chance to play through the second yet. I enjoyed the first, but just haven't gotten around to the second. At this point I just want Kingdom Hearts 3 to be as fun as the first one.
Voyou San
I remember just falling in love with the first game, and then playing the second game and thinking, man this game blows..

So for the 3rd one I would say more like the first and less like the 2nd

Better characters.

Get rid of Sora and all the Disney characters and you got yourself a decent cast with nobody. wink.gif

I liked KH2 in a sense, but the lack of background coverage on Organization XIII and not to mention the lack of involvement by the main villains for 2/3 games, the first 2/3 spent messing around with Pete, another Disney villain and Heartless. A complete waste of time fooling around with them when they had a good villain cast in Organization XIII.

For some reason, Sora looked like a retarded kid while every other character grew up and didn't look like a dorky kid.

Not a huge fan of the series, but 2 could have been good, but ended up being just okay.
LagunaWannabe
yeah they just had SO MUCH potential with the characters, but many fell through. I was overall pretty upset with Organization XIII. I just thought they'd be much more involved than they really were, and yes we hardly get to see them at all till the last third of the game.

And yep, I wanted to shoot myself every time Donald and Goofy talked. All their lines were so corny, so so so so corny. And really and truly, Sora DIDNT grow up. I look at Riku and Sora and it's just awkward. It's actually really funny when I look at his voice from KH1 also, Haley Joel Osmont sounded like a 10 year old kid. I dunno, they just could have done SO much more because they set themselves up so well with characters

I want Sora to have a beard in the third game. A huge beard.

Or maybe just a soul patch. Works either way. ^^
Ender
I want them to explore some of the more modern disney worlds instead of the classics. And of course, the more Final Fantasy they shove in there the better biggrin.gif

Edit* And for anyone who thought the second one sucked? Play to the end, I think this is the only game I've ever played where I was completely content with the end and wasn't left wanting more. The end was EPIC!

Yes. Yes yes yes.
Also: he smokes.

Granted the storyline for KH2 was unbelievable, and the ending was satisfying, the WAY we built up to the ending needs lots of work. I'd rather just have read a game script legit. I've already seen all the Disney movies, I don't wanna have to play thru each one. Like, I already knew what was gonna happen in each world.

And like,EVERY world is Disney, all your friends who fight in your part are Disney characters. I mean, I'm not asking necessarily for Final fantasy, but at least something that makes Kingdom Hearts its own. Let's at least get some Final Fantasy characters to fight, or see some FF Worlds.

And like I said, there doesn't even have to be more Final Fantasy, just MORE Kingdom Hearts, less Disney. Make it its own.
Mr. Wonderful
They need some Final Fantasy worlds in this next Kingdom Hearts game. Maybe a Midgar and an Ivalice. If at least one, they should have Midgar. I mean, the ending in the second Kingdom Hearts with Cloud and Sephiroth dissapearing would make it clear. Especially since Goofy says, "Gee, you think they made it back to their own world?"

As for Disney movies, they're running out of good ones. However, the best still hasn't been claimed....
An Emporer's New Groove would rock out loud. Seriously, there's much potential for a good Kingdom Hearts level.

Well, I'll admit the main reason I haven't touched this series yet is because I think it plays way too much on the whole Disney/FF gimmick instead of having its own independent concepts (story, characters, etc.). I heard that Chain of Memories was the start of the series moving into its own storyline and whatnot, but meh.

i'm gonna be truthful- NON-EXISTANT. i was never a fan of the series. S/E & Disney are milking this cashcow, only because they know the kids who've fallen in love with the games will spend more money on the same hunk of fecal matter.

i predict- a story with another gigantic plothole and meaningless plot devices; and more of Clod's "i'm too cool" persona with Stuperoth's "I'm a god. Like Tom Cruise" ego. rolleyes.gif

Correct me if I'm wrong...... But I'm pretty sure Cloud was ALWAYS really quiet and collected, a man inside his own head. And I'm ALSO pretty sure Sephiroth always thought he was god. So I wouldn't necessarily flame Kingdom Hearts for that.

To say it's milking the cow? I don't think so. I can see why some people who don't like the game would say that, but there is a full storyline on its own nearly-completely unrelated to anything Disney/Final Fantasy. For gameplay, yeah there's lots of Disney and FF, but that's not what the game is composed of entirely.

There's actually a GREAT plotline behind it when you follow it from KH to CoM to KH2. I flame the games themselves to a huge extent, I couldn't STAND playing the games because there was so much Disney. But as a fan of the SERIES, I love Kingdom Hearts. I love the characters, the twists, the flow of events, I think it's a great SERIES.

So my point by this is basically, yeah they may have milked the cow a bit by throwing in lots of Disney and FF, but that certainly doesn't mean that there's no real plotline or other good characters, because that's completely false.

Of course Square Enix and Disney are milking the success... They are two huge companies... do you think they would make a super successful game and say "let's not make a sequel and piss off our fans"? Let's be realistic now... I would say they were milking the cash cow if they made a half-assed sequel... I'm not a fan of Kingdom Hearts but it doesn't take much to see that they have really gone all out with KH2. The game has a lot that the first game lacked including an in depth storyline and loads of new game play features. I'm not saying the game is good, I'm just saying that if they were milking it they would have just done as little as they could to get out a sequel.

Of course there are elements of Fan service such as adding Cloud and Sephiroth...

I wish that there would be more FF in the serise. I personally like KH and KH2 but the story is a bit... Though a good plot it lacks some thing to link it al 2gether. Besides that I like the characters but I really hated the attempt to mimic the movies. That kinda thing is really annoying and rarly ever works.

Well, I've heard that it's going to be kind of like ff13, with all the good graphics, and actual control in fighting. But I think that kh3 would be awesome if it actually had maps automatically. In kh and kh2 you had to find maps or you had none at all. Just a little complaint from me because I suck at geography and maps... tongue.gif

Btw, what's with people hating Disney characters? They're a main point in kh... It's just like adding Final Fantasy people in, except more cartoony and kid-ish... But without these guys, what would kh be?

hmmmmm

1. It would be the same as any other game without Disney characters.
2. A less cartoony and less kid-ish game.
3. A more original game because you don't have to play thru Disney movie story lines.
4. A more balanced game since all the playable characters are Disney characters.
5. A game that doesn't make you bang your head against the wall because Donald and Goofy won't stop follow you.

maybe ill think up more later.....
Crimson Cloud
More FF characters to be at your disposal, and a chance to have them in your party outside their world. Original story, and maybe a few controllable main characters too. An option to pick a party leader would also be good. Others said pretty much everything else.
Dragon Brigade
The one thing that I want to be changed would be the magic system. I liked KH1 and the fact that after you attacked others your MP gauge would refill, but I’m one of those impatient people who didn’t like the system in KH2 just because you had to sit around for ages waiting for the gauge to fill. Sometimes in the most crucial moments it would take about thirty seconds or so to fill, which as you know is actually a long time in a battle. So when I need magic...I can’t use it. I dunno. I just want the whole magic system worked out better in the third one. Yeah, I know, small complaint, but it bothered me, haha =) I wish they’d go back to the way it was in the first game, or maybe come up with something new that’s better than the way magic worked in the second game >.>

That's the main thing I'd want fixed. The rest...well, I don't have any major complaints as far as anything else goes. I might think of something else later, but for the moment, the magic system is all that bothers me, haha...

I've never played any KH games, even though I've heard they were great, just because I know I wouldn't be able to overlook how gay Disney is to me. I don't care how good a game is, if I have a duck with a speech impediment in my party I say screw this.

A level where you can ride chocobos. =] Because I think it needs a little more Final Fantasy added into it.
The FF characters just seemed in there for lack of creativity. Like, "disney disney disney, Woo.. look.. a moogle!"

The second game didn't disappoint me as much as others are saying.. I hated Lion form though. Guh.

The fact that Disney was in it didn't bother me so much. The concept of it being a bit child like in the first game is what made it so great. Then Sora grew up a bit, and they attempted to make the game more mature with keeping Disney around, but epically failed, and instead we got a huge explosion and clash of random Disney characters and levels, Organization 13 randomly thrown in but no development there, and no other character development whatsoever. The characters just didn't to have a bond like they did in the first game. Buuut, I guess its what I expected from the second game.
I thought it was a game that should've been left alone, but I suppose a sequel was a must for big time gamers.

And as to the idea of Sora having a beard and smoking? [You guys are sick.] I'm game. =P
