“….And so it was deemed that the Elements would be forever sealed from the likes men, so they may never more unleash the destruction that came when it was first released. But without the Elements, men were weak, and their numbers dwindled. So portions of the Elements were released, and man again grew into great numbers. But the centuries of hardships had made them wary of each other, and those who shared the same power came together, to seek refuge from the harsh wild. This is the origin of the Seven Nations.”
- Origin of Shinobi, Fire Library
Rules
Pretty standard. But here's some that go with the RP specifically.
- No Triple Elements (Max 2)
- You Can Not make an X-experiment profile unless you are approved by me (Gamer) and Chrono.
- No wiping out other Nations, Even if it is done realistically
- If you want to create your own small nation, please ask me or Gamer. (Vice versa)
- No Godmodding, ever
- You may not play as Codename North, as he is to crucial a role
- Play fair, this is the overall rule
You
The point of conflict is now. You are a great Shinobi, a warrior adapt in using Elements, and manipulating Chakra. Seven Elements exist, one for each nation. There are Major Elements, and Minor Elements.
Demons
Demons come from beyond the grave, searching forever for the spirits of humans. They come through gates, which can appear at random, and seek out the Souls of the living. They destroy everything in their path, and only masters have been able to close gates permanently. Demons are the most challenging thing a Shinobi will ever face.
Nations
The Nation of
Earth
Earth
Terrain:
The Nation of Earth is made up of three main types of land. The first, which coves more than two-thirds of it, is Desert. The second part is the rolling Hills of the Low Country, which borders on the Water Nation. This is the second largest part, but only slightly larger than the Earth Nation's Canyon Regions, which contain the smallest population of the three
Government:
The Nation of Earth has been ruled throughout the centuries by the Emperors, and the same dynasty still holds power from over a thousand years ago. They treat the citizens kindly, and so far there has been no discontent among the populous. Earth is very harsh towards foreign invaders, and brutally kills those who violate international law.
The Nation of
Spirit
Spirit
Terrain:
The Nation of Spirit is completely engulfed by a vast assortment or large trees. These surroundings serve as a natural barrier if any other nations began to attack. North East of the Nation of Earth, Spirits water supply is very limited because of its surroundings, thus, the Nation of Spirit relies upon the Earths shipments of water that come once every two weeks. Spirits demand for water from Earth is high, but they receive very little instead, therefore the Chief Commander of the Spirit Armed Militia has, under his own free-will, been formulating a plan to build an underground river made of steel and bamboo, that leads straight from the Eastern Ocean; Kohlau. This 'river' may stretch as far as four miles, and may take months of construction.
The other Nations do not know of this plan, and the Nation of Spirit is making it top-priority to keep it that way.
Government:
The Nation of Spirits' government came from a long line of dynasty eras. The first Era was the Huang Je Era, whom was overthrown by the Twae Dou. Twae Dou Era ended after a mere forty years, being overthrown by the (current) Gin Pang.
Gin Pang Dynasty is currently ruled by Lee Pang, Gins' great-great grandson, and is the longest surviving Era in the Nation of Spirit. Lee Pang, the Emperor (others call him King Pang) is a stern ruler, little humor, and never changes the look on his face. It is said the Emperor Lee Pang could look into your soul, just by staring at you, and can tell if you have committed a crime, and specifically what crime as well. This is what Lee is mostly known for, thus, his servants try not to look straight at him.
The Emperor's castle is in the northern section of the Spirit Nation, south of the castle is Nobility, and south of the Noble's is Second Class (and so on...). The nation's main entrance way is at the far end of the poorest sub-town in all the Spirit. The water brought from Earth must pass through this town to reach its destination point, and is usually robbed before reaching it (That’s why the supply is low, and the reason why Earth only comes once every two weeks.)
The Nation of
Fire
Fire
Terrain:
The Nation of Fire is, ironically, surrounded on three of its borders by Ice covered mountains. The Eastern edge of Fire borders on Water, and is completely covered by Ice. Since it is surrounded by the Ice Blade Mountain Range, Fire has turned the majority of its focus on training superior warriors. Due to its small population, land area, and its complete lack of rivers or oceans, it has very few warriors. However, its location is filled with vast resources, making it the target of Nations and Businesses. The Nation of Fire is surrounded by Cherry Blossom Trees, which are kept in full bloom by the Shinobi of the Nation
Military:
The Nation of Fire takes pride in its military, having never been conquered despite countless invasions. It is the Nation with the largest amount of Ninja, per capita. Currently, 60% of the Shinobi in Fire are Ninja. The other 40% come from the largest Clan known throughout the Nations, Clan Ochi. Clan Ochi has produced Fire's best and brightest, and are hailed as the heroes of the Nations. They train very few ninja however, and take their role as the regular army.
Government:
The Nation of Fire is ruled by a National Council. Representatives from the various groups in Fire meet annually at the Capital, the Ochi Palace. They discuss issues there, and debate what to implement. Those who go to this meeting are elected for each year by the masses
The Nation of
Water
Terrain:
The Nation of Water is one of the few countries that border on the Sea. It is divided into two parts by a Great River, the Great Shinobi River. The Northern section borders on the Earth Nation, and is dry towards the border, but as it comes closer to the river, it becomes very wet and Swampy.
The Southern part of the Terrain is made up of High peaked Icy Mountains, which encompass the Eastern Border of the Nation of Fire. These are constantly covered in snow and ice, and provide an enormous defense from other Nations.
Government:
The Nation of Water is run by a King, but the true power is in the Council of Generals. Water is by far the most militarized Nation, as far as numbers go. In percentage of population, it is only exceeded by Fire.
The Nation of
Wind
Wind
Terrain:
The Terrain in the Nation of the Wind is not quite of hilly, nor does it have any trees, other nations are still astonished by how the Nation of Wind lasted so long. Truth be told, the Wind Nation sees its vast open fields as their own kind of barrier, one that doesn't protect, but Detect. With no trees for the enemy to hide behind, of clothes to match the natural surroundings (like if a nation was invading Fire and using white clothes to cross over the mountains.) gives the nation a clear view of what is coming, long before it has arrived. The Nation of Wind lies south of the Nation of Fire, using the Ice Mountains as natural boarder. The Wind Nation may use the Ice Mountains as a natural barrier between them and Fire, but their entire main village is still several miles away; this makes Winds' northern plain an unsettling mist (The snow blows off the mountains, condensates in the air and creates mist) Whenever travelers see this mist, they know two things, One: they are near Kohlau and Two, they might be near the Wind Nation.
It is not uncommon for the Wind Nation to be attacked by demons of any sort (flying, etc...). Typically, the Wind Nation identifies its attackers in three main ways, One: If it is moving alone, Two: If, when moving, is limping, or acting strange, and Three: Its flying. When a demon is spotted, by whom-ever, the individual usually bands together with other citizens, because of the saying "Pride of the Wind." none of them decline. The mysterious figure (demon) is hunted and slain almost as soon as it was spotted. The Wind Nation doesn't have a strong army, another reason why the opposing nations wonder why they have lasted over the decades. Rather, the Nation of the Wind has a strong militia, because no one likes joining the army, usually. This is one of the Winds most best-kept secret: Decent Army, Strong Militia.
Government:
One of the more 'Democratic' nations, Wind elects its ruler by the following: Electing someone as the strongest in the Nation, all of those elected people fight in 1v1 matches until the last man, or woman, is left. He or she is then finally placed as Ruler, and given the title "Strongest"
A quicker way, however, of obtaining leadership is by challenging the current Ruler to a match, if won, the throne is yours. A challenge like this though, has never happened for years, all the citizens know the power of Strongest. The Wind's Chairs are chosen, also, by electing someone to be given that position, but the elected citizens for the Chairs do not dual for them. They are simply quizzed and questioned by the current Strongest to see if they fit the potential Strongest wants them to have. The current Chairs are: Chair of Education, Chair of Extermination, Chair of Law, Chair or Military and Chair of Advisor. The Chairs meet every three weeks to decide upon new laws to make, or the removal of laws, military size vs. citizen size (usually 'Why more people should join the military') recent attacks and how many, etc.
The Nation of
Shadow
Shadow
Terrain: The Nation of Shadow is made up of two smaller types of terrain, along with its huge Forests. The Nation of Shadow is the northern-most country in the entire continent. However, this northern area is located by an active volcano, which is constantly sending out lava. This is the location of the Capital, and it is known as the City of Night. The sun had been seen once in this City, over two thousand years ago. The air is covered continuously by clouds. The blackened land is desolate, except for the cities.
The other small terrain type is the plains to the west of Wind. It is made up of the tall grasses of Wind, but they merge steadily into the Forest of Shadow. The Forest is the largest group of trees known, and covers more than 3/4 of Shadow. It is home to many strange beasts, and is the favorite hideout of missing Shinobi.
Government: The Nation of Shadow has a very obscure government. There is some evidence collected by Fire Ninja that it is a former S-Criminal escaped from Spirit, but this is not conclusive. Shadow is a known dictatorship, but stirs up nationalism amongst its people. The Nation of Shadow has long been known as a hostile nation, and has made several covert wars with small nations, such as Spirit, and more recently Fire. Fire Ninja have reports that they might use ninja as well.
The Nation of
Life
Life
Terrain:
The Nation of Life is the smallest country, but large enough to be considered one. It is surrounded by a luscious green forest, dense, yet peaceful and welcoming. The Nation of Life is also the farthest West Country, but still some several miles from the Western Ocean. The closest Nation to Life is Fire. So, whenever the Nation of Life needs to do trade, the Nation of Fire may tax them at their own will. This 'tax' is most definitely not favored by the villagers of Life. Life considerers this the 'Devil's work' or 'Unearthly'. You may be asking yourself, why doesn't Life just travel and trade east, instead of going into the Nation of Fire? Well, simply because these people aren't the best fighters or any at all. The Nation of Life consists of a tiny army, and whose soldiers are not pressured to go into battle, if they do not wish to go even if they are a part of the 'army' they do not have to.
Government:
Life’s' government is mostly like a typical democracy, except, without one specific ruler. Ever now and then (it doesn't matter how frequent, or how little frequent) the wise, and the eldest villagers in Life village come together, usually at someone's house, and discuss what is necessary for the nation to hold and remain its power. So, if Life is this tiny Nation, why doesn't Fire just mow it over, and claims it for them??
They can, but choose not too. The Nation of Life might be the smallest Nation, but the biggest exporter for goods. Fire sees this as a great opportunity to make a great sum of money from taxes, while looking neutral towards the Nation of Life, so other Nations do not turn on them (Fire). As great of an idea this may be, it's working, and too its full potential.
Other than that, the Nation of Life is a very "down to earth" Nation, they live off the land mostly, and love it. These people are extremely easy to get along with, and enjoy the company of others, strangers or not. The Nation of Life is known for their excellent quality and quantity of goods, and their beliefs upon 'non-violence'.
Other:
Another, but small, reason that Fire does not want to take over Life, is because of a small rumor about the Nation of Life having a pill that sustains pain, a super pain-killer they think.
The Elements
Major:
Earth- Steadfast and loyal, Earth users bring the full destruction of the world itself upon their foes.
Wind- Wind users use their speed and other techniques to decimate their foes, going so far as to create tornadoes.
Water- Versatile and resilient, Water users can create ice out of almost nothing, and manipulate the very oceans and rivers.
Shadow- Shadow users can manipulate Shadows and darkness, even making physical forms from their shades.
Minor:
Fire- If one word could describe those who use fire, it would be Power. Whether it’s vaporizing their foes, or defending their home from Demons, Fire users have proven themselves as great Shinobi.
Spirit- Spirit users are healers, manipulating spirits and spiritual energy. Demons run in fear of them, and the Dead protect their lands from harm.
Life- When a Life user is in danger, all of nature comes to their aid. They live in a symbiosis with the world, creating life where they go and receiving protection in return.
Handsigns are used for controlling basic and midlevel techniques.
Seals are used for extremely high level techniques.
No handsigns or seals are needed for minor tasks, or Chakra manipulation.
Beast Alignments
Dragon - Dragons are very smart, and very strong. However, they aren't very fast, and tend to take lots of hits, but the blows they dish out are enormous.
Wolfs - Wolfs are another smart animal, and are very fast. However, those aligned to it usually have low defensive capabilities, and Wolfs don't dish out powerful hits.
Snake - Snakes are smart, and very nimble. They are good with words, but don't land powerful blows. The symbol for snakes is a two headed serpent, which represents their ability to trap an opponent with words, and then finish them off.
Hawk - Hawks aren't as smart Wolfs, but are incredibly fast. They hit hard and move fast, but can be taken out in one powerful hit.
Ferrets - They are smart, and fast. They don't like to fight a lot, because they are bad at attacking and defending, but they can run, making them excellent spies. Ferrets are good at stealth.
Bears - Bears are like Dragons, but they aren't nearly as smart. They rely on their high stamina, and humongous strength to beat their opponents into submission.
Toads - Toads are smarter than any of the other animals, but aren't good at anything else. They have decent speed, but they usually act as Generals in the backlines of the Shinobi.
Tigers - Tigers are wise and powerful. They are the most well-balanced of the animal types, and perform a variety of tasks. They have very few drawbacks, besides their constant hunger.
Foxes - Foxes are almost exclusively in Spirit. They have no real affect on the person, besides increased speed and cleverness, but they give the person a special spirit. When in a desperate situation, Foxes are able to call on this, and become incredibly powerful. Foxes are either loved or shunned, depending on the circumstances.
Phoenix - Phoenixes are incredible fighters. They have powerful blows, and a keen grasp of tactics. They also have incredibly fast recovery rates, oftentimes they receive a small cut and it heals without blood loss. Some people are so aligned to Phoenix that they are near immortal, as their cells regenerate beyond the point of death, but only one was ever recorded in history.
Now, each animal has a certain effect on the user. They either affect the Techniques, the Body, the Spirit, or the Mind.
Techniques: Dragons, Tigers, Hawks
Body: Wolfs, Snakes, Bears, Phoenix
Spirit: Foxes
Mind: Ferrets, Toads
The X-Experiments
Amid the continent, there exist four powerful Warriors. They are stronger than any man alive, and have been known to kill thousands of Demons with just their hands. These are the X-Shinobi. They are results of a secret experiment long ago, dealing with forbidden techniques. It was headed by Shadow, and Earth is suspected of giving financial support in exchange for the results.
Codename South:
She is one of the most enigmatic, and least hostile of the Xs. South is suspected to be from the Nation of Spirit, and is the only Spirit Shinobi who can manipulate any type of Spiritual energy. She has been the only one of the Experiments to make a friendship with another creature, and currently lives with him.
Codename West:
He lies closest to where he was experimented on. Very little is known about him, but he is a confirmed Earth user. He is slow, but takes huge amounts of punishments, and is incredibly stubborn. His brute alone has been enough to break sealed doors, and capturing techniques.
Codename East:
She resides in the Desert, and is the weakest of the Xs. While she is incredibly hostile, she is most like a Ninja. She manipulates all sorts of matter, but most predominantly uses compressed sand like shards of diamonds to kill her opponent. East is an expert in stealth and cloaking techniques, and is perhaps the most dangerous to unsuspecting Shinobi.
Codename North:

A Note from Chrono Soul
This is based in ancient Japan. The technology is essentially ancient Japan. Characters that use excessive European weaponry, and other European things, will not be approved. If you add them in game, you will be warned, and if you continue, you will be banned. Please keep this RP to its original intent. Thank you.
I do realize that this is similar in many ways to Naruto, and other animes. It is supposed to be. You use Chakra, Handsigns, and Seals to focus your elements. This is not a Naruto RP, and if you make a character with a copyright name like that, you're violating the law, and the intent of this RP. I don't want to be to harsh, but me and Gamer worked for almost a month on this. Please do not ruin this.
The final thing I would like you to observe, to keep confusion down, is to put in bold at the top of your IC post where you are currently located. If it's your own area, use that name. Otherwise use existing names. Thank you.
