The following is my idea for an rpg based on the now dead franchise of Nocturne, a game by Terminal Reality.

The World of Nocturne:

"Pay heed to legends, for they are based in truth. Pay heed to superstition, for though they can not be proven, they cannot be disproven for a certainty. Be ever mindful of darkness, both in one self and that which surrounds us all. It is often within our own haven that we are unmade, both through arrogence and ignorance." - Lord Hamilton Killion, 1864 - 1935

The supernatural world exists. A world that cannot ever be fully explained, that thrives while the masses live their lives in merciful ignorance. Over a hundred years ago an international agency was formed for the research of and defense against the supernatural. It was formed in 1903 by Theodore Roosevelt shortly after he battled and killed a creature that can only be described as a werewolf. Formed out of the realization that the supernatural and all its spawn not only existed, but could pose a threat to the country and indeed the world if left uncheck. Thus Spookhouse was formed.

After several decades of successful to mostly successful campaigns and projects, Spookhouse was destroyed by a still unknown assailent in 1937. Most of Spookhouse's many agents either disappeared or were killed. Its file was sealed and vanished in the deepest vaults of government. Now, in 2009, over a hundred years since Spookhouse was obliterated, the secret agency was reconstructed and reinstated after a demonic entity ran amuck in the sleepy town of Birn in New Mexico killing hundreds. The tragedy was covered up, but to protect against future catastrophies. Spookhouse, as with the predecessor, is an international agency, headquartered in Chicago, USA but having bases and safe houses in dozens of countries all across the world. It operates in secret, its existance denied, its resources near limitless, and it does not recognize international or any borders pertaining to jurisdiction during cases involving to supernatural.

Eight years have passed, Spookhouse is now once again stocked with talented (if not enigmatic) agents, and a great Darkness is approaching....

Lee Carmen's Book of Spooks:

(The following are excerpts from a report made by Agent Lee Carmen on the original Spookhouse, its agents, and several of its most noteworthy operations.)

Spookhouse, in a Nutshell:

Spookhouse was founded in 1903 for the explicit purpose of supernatural research and defense, not nessessarily in that order. Its operations were original headed by President Roosevelt until 1905 when he passed it onto an old friend of his from the military and safari days. Who this was remains a mystery as all records of this man (Most likely male, but even that is unknown for a certainty) were destroyed or sealed away. For the next two and a half decades agents tracked, studied, and sometimes battled supernatural beings and entities. Up until 1927, the entire agency was composed of "normal" (And I use the term loosely) humans. But after the Nepal Horucide, two agents of pure otherworldy nature joined (Actually only one officially joined, the other "allied") the ranks of Spookhouse much to the chagrin of senor agents. Regardless, Spookhouse was more open to the prospect of some supernatural coexisting on a peaceable basis with the normal world and redoubled its research efforts.

After 1930 up to the agencies eventual destruction in 1937, the world saw a huge increase in supernatural events. However these events were purely localized and seemingly unconnected. Despite this, after Spookhouse and most of her agents were killed by some... force... the supernatural events tapered off. This figure can be due, of course, that events did occur but there was no agency to report it... much less save victims who were infected by it. In 2009, the agency was refounded after a unforseen and tragic attack on American soil left hundreds of innocent people (mostly children as the attack started in a elementry school) in Birn, New Mexico. By Above Presidential Decree Spookhouse was formed anew. It seems it could not have come at a better time as we have dozens of reports of supposed supernatal activety from all over the world. True may it be that most of these reports are false, the amount of supernatural activety that is founded is cause for some... alarm. As always, Spookhouse operations are carried out in secret, and most governments (at least those that are privy to our existance) are all too happy to cover up any spill. Our main goals have not changed, Spookhouse first and foremost tracks and researches supernatural activety.... and when this activety is deemed to be dangerous to security our mission becomes even more simple. Find the threat and destroy it by any means nessessary.

Scary People:

The following is a short list of agents associated with the original Spookhouse Agency. Let it be known that this list is FAR from complete and their were actually anywhere between a hundred to several hundred agents, most "agents" didn't know who they were working for. The most typical agent often thought they were working for another agency entirely, be it FBI, CIA, KGB, MI7 etc.

G-Man (Deceased)- The mysterious leader after Theodore Roosevelt. Almost nothing is known about him or her. Under his leadership, Spookhouse focused its research efforts less on the nature of supernatural events and beings and more on researching ways to destroy them and hunting them down. The only cold hard fact was that he/she was killed sometime during the First Great War shortly after he retired.

Colonel Hapscomb (Deceased)- He lead Spookhouse up until its eventual destruction in 1937. Originally a military officer stationed in Bombay, he was sickened by the injustices perpetrated on the native people by his army and the Indian government. He served as an honorary liaison for Spookhouse in its early years, and was made a full agent when its charter expanded and G-man retired. Under his leadership, Spookhouse switched gears from search and destroy to understanding the Supernatural World. He was confirmed dead, pistol in hand, in Spookhouse HQ in 1937.

Elspeth "Doc" Holliday (Deceased) - Professor Holiday was the undispitued undisputed genius in the field of applied science and mechanical engineering. She insisted on testing her own fantastic inventions in the field. She served as the head of the research department, occasionally as a field agent, and weapons development department. Many of her inventions we are as a society just now catching up to in terms of technology. Most of Spookhouse's "specials" are her inventions as well. Unfortunately, she too was killed in the attack at Spookhouse HQ, confirmed by her severed right hand and left foot (which was all that was left of her). The agency lost a precious agent, the world lost one of its most gifted minds.

Svetlana Lupescu (Unaccounted, Retired)- One of the first and few non-human agents in Spookhouse. Svetlana Lupescu was a dympir, vampire father and human mother. Through a tragic series of events, she found herself in the care of gypies and honed her knife fighting techniques. She eventually found her way to america as a young woman and eventually found and joined Spookhouse. She was fortunately away on a mission abroad when Spookhouse HQ was attacked. Unlike The Stranger, she did not cut off ties to the American government, rather she worked as a secret operative and spy for the allies in World War II, and even destroyed a Nazi Daemon Cult. Sometime in the 1960's, she vanished without a trace, resigning from her service and retireing into obscurity. She is rumored to live somewhere in Italy and as she stopped aging in her mid twenties, it is most likely she is still alive.

Scat Dazzle/ Baron Samedi (Missing) - Scat Dazzle was/is a former blues trumpet player whose body was the host of Baron Samedi, a voodoo god also known as Loa. Baron Samedi is the immortal archetypal representations of the natural world and of moral principles, lewd and chaotic. Scat Dazzle was the human half, calm and devoted to the cause. Both sides seemed to balance each other out as each side excerted some control over the other. While he was at the base during the attack in 1937, it is impossible for him/them to be killed as Baron Samedi is a immortal god and a representation of man (As long as man exists, so too will Baron Samedi or any God). So this leads one to the conclusion that either Scat is either imprisoned somewhere... or he does not want to be found.

Vicenzo "Icepick" Gasparro (Deceased/Final Death) - Originally he was a mob enforcer for the Ghiberti Familly but he was betrayed and killed. He was then sold to a Professor Loathring and ressurrected in Al Capone's "FrankenMob" scheme. A big man before the procedure, he was resurrected and turned into a eight and a half foot tall wall of patchwork muscle. He leaked information of the Loathring plot to the authorities which brought him into contact with Spookhouse. After the mission, he joined the agency and became good friends with "Doc" Holiday. What was left of him was discovered outside Doc Holiday's lab, as if he was trying to prevent something from entering.

The Stranger (Missing, Deceased?)- Even more elusive that G-Man. The details of the circumstances surrounding his birth, his past, or his entrance into Spookhouse are non-existant. What is known is that he, at the time of its destruction, even among superpowered agents such as Icepick, Scat, Svetlana, and not to mention Moloch, he was the agency's undisputed top hunter even though he was/is a "normal" human. Reputed to be able to annhilate hoards of vampires, entire werewolf tribes, and heavily armed "Franken Mobsters," he was the most feared man in the agency, by both the agency's enemies and fellow agents. Through other agents reports he was/is "a heartless and cunning gunman" and "Incredibly adaptive and intellegent" as well as "Cold and unshake-able." He was the last man seen leaving Spookhouse HQ after the 1937 attack alive. It is not known where he went after that, but messages scrawled in the blood of his fellow agents seemed to be directed at Stranger himself. He is most likely[i] deceased.

Moloch (Missing) - Moloch is a genuine demon of infinite rage and fury. Rejected by both Heaven and Hell, he found his allies in the company of mortals. He was in fact NOT an agent, but held the rank of "potential agent" for the several decades. He was an ally who assisted in several of the agency's operations, usually when contact with civilians was unlikely or negligable. Disappeared in 1937 along with many others. However, like Baron Samedi, he cannot be killed in the biblical sense, only caged or banished back to Hell.

Hamilton Killian (Deceased) - The ex-top hunter until Stranger came around. He "retired" after violently opposing the prospect of working alongside Moloch in 1927 and recruiting Svetlana into the fold. He felt betrayed that his beloved agency which he gave his life to, which hunted down creatures that were responsible for his wife and childs murder, would accomodate "freaks." Years passed and his bitter hatred turned to maddness. In 1935, he aducted Moloch and attempted to kill Stranger. He was unsuccessful and died a traitors death at the merciless hands of Moloch.

General Biggs (Deceased) - A general in the US Marine Corp. Helped the agency out when they needed military presence for anything from blockades, to information control, to actual muscle. His division actually eventually split off from the Marine Corp. to form "Delta Force" which once again aids Spookhouse. The General served in a long career and died after he retired in the 1960's.

Spookhouses Little Black Book

To following is a short list of missions, campaigns, or operations that Spookhouse was involved in. In fact it is a VERY short list and hardly the most unusual cases, but Spookhouse agents should be advised to expect simular cases in their careers.

[i]The Great Were-Wolf Horucide 1920:

This operation was conducted with a joint effort with a division of the British military and American marines. It was a several month long worldwide campaign targeting solely Were-wolves and was vastly successful. It nearly pushed the the were-wolf population to extinction and the beasts still haven't complety recovered from it. Prior to this, were-wolves would roam the lands in the guise of clans or a circus and prey on the innocent. Centered mainly in central Europe and North Africa, they also infiltrated the US. This operation coined the term Horucide; an Spookhouse operation dedicated to the extincion of a particular supernatural being(s).

The Nepalese Horucide of 1922:

A gate to hell was opened in the Nepal mountains by a Daemon Cult and demons invaded the surrounding land. British and American forces once again aided Spookhouse in containing the invasion but could not make headway until Moloch, a demon himself, came to their aid. Spookhouse agents and Moloch sealed the Hell Gate, and proceeded to wipe out the remaining demonic army.

Dark Reign of the Vampire King (1928):

Stranger and Lupescu were dispatched to Germany to investigate the rumours of a artifact that would give a vampire the ability to walk in daylight, thus removing their greatest weakness. The two stumble into a war between were-wolves and two factions of vampires. Only later Stranger learns that the son of the elder vampire lord rebeled against his master and the were-wolves sought to take advantage of the Vampirac civil war. Svetlana and Stranger liquidate the Alpha of the were-wolf pack and move on to the vampires castle. Svetlana fall's under the younger vampire lord Voicu's spell but resist's it giving Stranger time to find and kill the Voicu. The head of the vampire familly, the artifact firmly in hand, bids the two agents permission to leave his lands alive and unmolested.

NOTE: This same Vampire Lord was involved with the Nazi's in WWII, and was assassinated by Svetlana during allied operations.

The Blair Witch Project (1932):

Elspeth "Doc" Holiday was dispatched to investigate Burkitsville after a man named Rustin Parr aducted and killed seven children. Questioning Parr, Elspeth learned that a old woman bid him to do it. Further investigation revealed that a then deceased witch and a death cult set in motion a series of events that lead to the summoning of a greater demon. Elspeth requested reinforcements which came in the for of Stranger. The two battled the demon and his forces, eventually banishing him back to hell, thus ending the hundred year curse of the Blair Witch.

Tomb of the Underground God (1933)

Stranger and a fellow agent named Hiram Mottra were dispatched to aid Scat Dazzle in a small Texan mining town. Scat reported that the town was being overrun by the undead. While on route, a were-wolf pack, looking to avenge their fallen back in 1921, attack the train and ambushed Stranger and Hiram. Hiram was killed shortly after the attack, as were all the passengers. Stranger fought through and eventually dueled with the Alpha of the pack ontop of the train. Stranger proved the stronger and more cunning. Upon arriving at the town, Stranger indeed found it overrun with zombies. Scat had been killed but through a simple ritual performed by Stranger, he was ressurrect by his alter-ego Baron Samedi. The two assembled survivors at the church and Stranger entered the mines in search of the cause. Stranger found a mad necromancer who had been possessed by a Incan Death God he had summoned. Stranger weakened the Death God and Baron Samedi destroyed its host's body, forcing it back to where it came from.

Monsters

Monsters exist, they come in all shapes and sizes, all manner of temperment, and call give themselves all sorts of different titles, but make no mistake, they are monsters. The following is a brief list, catagoriezed by type, of several monster species that exist.

The Undead

While the term "undead" is somewhat of an oxymoron, Spookhouse, and the rest of the world in fact, have adopted the term for any formly living being that no longer shows life signs yet is still mobile. The Undead have always been the most stalwart opponent to Spookhouse Operatives.

Vampires -

Vampires were once humans who were infected with the Vympir Disease, a disease of innately magical or demonic nature (also known as a "curse"). It is unknown for how long vampires have existed, but the earliest accounts date back to around 1500 BC. Vampires are a creature that the whole of society is aware of, albeit they pass them off as legend or movie fiction. This is often immensely helpful to Spookhouse agents. One, since most people know generally what vampire are, or rather their habits and tendencies (drinking blood, shape shifting, etc.), they report them as vampire activety giving agents a pretty good idea what they are up against. Two, since everyone "knows" vampires don't exist, cases are easy to discredit should the operation spill over and collateral media fallout threatens secrecy. Vampires themselves fall into three main catagories but all share the same basic powers and weaknesses. Vampires possess great strength, at least three times that of normal men, and olympic quality speed and agility. They also demonstrate the ability to shapeshift into a multitude of different forms, such as a bat/human like creature or inanimate objects, but they must maintain their bodies basic mass otherwise threatening themselves. Their vision is perfect 20/20 with the ability to switch between thermographic and mundane (likely due to their ability to change shape) and are able to use a sort of sonar to guide them. Many maintain the ability to fly or at least levitate themselves but cannot do so to other object. Also all vampires have the ability to regenerate from most wounds a hundred times faster than normal humans. And of course immortality in a sense that once infected by the curse, being stops aging. Their weakness include a violent and deadly allergy to UV light, particulary sun light. Faith (which will be elaborated on later) based objects also seem to nullify the vampires regenerative abilities or in some cases repel them. Fire also effectively nullifies the vampires regeneration. Massive physical trauma such as decapitation or pilferation (The agent Stranger demonstrated a vampires limits by quickly emptying over two dozen unenchanted forty five caliber rounds within a minute to one unfortunate) but is of course the most risky. Another oddity is a wooden steak through the heart, though not fatal, induces a deep coma to any vampire. And of course, the insatiable need to consume fresh blood to continue their unlife. As stated before, there is three known vampire species. They are...

Vympir - Also known as Vampire Lords or No-Life Kings. As can be guessed, they are the rulers among vampires. They can be expect to have twice the power as common vampires, maintain all their intellegent and sentinent thought, and have twice the resistance to common vampire weaknesses. In addition, they seem to have a pseudo psychic connection with all those he or she has infected with the curse, almost as other vampires were an extension of themselves. He sees what they see and he can exert considerable control over their actions. They often call themselves "originals" but this is likely just a title as the lesser norferatu can grow to become a Vympir in the course of two hundred years or so. Most dirturbing of all is that Vympir's can concieve with mortal's, rarely even giving rise to a dympir.

Nosferatu - Often used as footsoldiers to vampire lords, Nosferatu are the most common type of vampires. They are created when a vampire completely drains a human of blood and replaces it (through glands in its fangs) with about a pint of his or her own. Nosferatu are often considered little more than children or cheap labor ot Vympir's and are often just that. Rarely does a nosferatu display anything more than just the most basic of rational thought or base instincts. Another strange and unexplained fact is if a virgin (whose blood apparently tastes "Better") is turned into a nosferatu, they are far stronger and intellegent than their normal cousins, often appearing just the same as a dympir but without the far reaching control of the "Household." Becuase of this, most dympirs prefer to kill virgins without changing them... or worse... when they feed rather than dealing with a potential rivel.

Dympir - The spawn of a human and a vympir. Half breeds. Their strength and abilities fall between that of a vympir and a nosferatu but share none of their weaknesses. However their regeneration is only fifty times greater than that of a normal human as opposed to a hundred. On the other hand, they don't need blood to sustain themselves though it does seem to hasten their regenerative abitilities. It is said that for every offspring between a human and a vympir, there is a thousand born still born, making dympirs exceeedingly rare. Still, one of Spookhouse's finest agents was in fact a dympir.

Zombies - Again, a widely known yet disbelieved form of monster. Zombies are any corpse which is given the capacity to move again. They fall into three catagories...

Viral Zombie - The most common displayed in movies, yet (unfortunately) the rarest in reality. Viral zombies are dead given life again through a virus through either supernatural or biological means. Should one suffer a zombie bite or scratch, depending on the circumstance, the victim will eventually turn into a zombie themself. Mindless and far from sentinent, they exist to feed upon meat yet their former desire to be close to other people leads them to feed off humans. They will feed until either they vomit or their digestive system burst. The latter case they will most likely continue to feed. Their bodies can take a tremendous amount of punishment and never fall into shock. However, destruction of their brain through blunt force or decaptition will always neutralize them.

Restless Zombies - A term given by Professor Elspeth Holiday. Restless zombies resemble viral zombies in every manner except they are not driven by the need to feed, rather they kill all living within their immediate vicinity through any means possible. Also, they can never be truly neutralized. Should one be blown to pieces, each piece will stubbornly continue to try to kill the living. They also cannot contanimate the living, bites or scratches will not immediately turn one into a zombie. This is because restless zombies are always tied to one area, one supernatural beacon. The beacon is often an artifact, guardian artifact, or some sort of leader undead (ie a Mummy or Vampire). Restless zombies can never stray to far from this artifact or they will immediately fall limp to their naturally dead form. Should the artifact be sanctified or destroyed, it will also destroy its effect on the dead. Mummies, which sometimes serve as the beacon, also fall under Restless Zombies.

Frankenstein Monsters - A misleading term as the later Baron Frankenstein only created one such creature, any parallels to his work also share his name and the creature only partially falls under the "Zombie" title. Frankenstein monsters are humans who through surgery, alchemy, and technology are given life again. Generally speaking, when one is brought back to life in this fashion they have no recollection of who he or she (or they is some cases) were, but in some rare cases this is only temporary amnesia. In any case, Frankenstein monsters can usually use their mental facualties the same as any human. Because of the operation and augmentation in the monster making process, the mass of the body must be expanded by over forty percent, leading to a patchwork of different bodies to for one creature. They don't need food, and only a little sleep every few days, but they need a complete transfusion of the Loathring Enbalm Serum every year or they litterally fall apart. Loathring Enbalm also increases their strength to ten times that of a normal human male... unfortunately it is also highly flammable. There has only been two accounts of Frankenstein monsters, one was involving Frankenstein himself, and another with a one Dr. Loathring who helped Al Capone make an army of the creature in Chicago. Due to Stranger and Mr. Gasparro, his Franken-Mob plant was destroy, but Loathring himself eluded capture.

Ghosts

Ghosts are disenbodied "souls" who continue to effect the world even after their body has passed on. There are three main types.

Phantoms - "Friendly" ghosts, rather ones that cannot effect the world around them beyond sight, sound, or sometimes smell. Phantoms can only be seen or heard, sometimes by a particular person or group of people. Generally these are people who have some form of unfinished buisness. Also the phrase "Friendly Ghosts" also refers to the fact they are usually quite dossile, happy to interact with the living, they can use reason, and they know full well they are indeed deceased. They are always tied to something, be it a particular item, building, or even a person. Being tied to this thing compels them to be near it at all times.

Poltergeists - "Unfriendly" ghosts, the oppisite of phantoms. Enraged either at the fact that they are deceased or the fact that everyone else is still alive, they exist to torment or destroy the living. Poltergeists can also effect the enviroment to a limited degree which is directly related to their level of rage at being dead. Spookhouse rates the power of a particualar poltergeist on a scale of 1 to 10. Ten being the weakest, these ghosts stomp on the ground, flicker lights, maybe even slam a door once in a while. A level five can throw small objects, effect dreams, drop the temperature a few dozen degrees briefly. A level one poltergeasts can throw heavy objects, smash windows, start fires, operate machinery (including firearms), possess people, cause hallucinations, etc. Poltergeists are almost always tied to a place rather than a person or item like phantoms. There are a number of documented ways to ward off or even destroy poltergeists, but in each case the method is unique.

Spirits - Sometimes called "Gods," spirits are either a collection of souls fused together to create one entity or a reflection of humanity as a whole. Usually they represent some aspect of humanity, what that is is not always clear. They have nigh infinite power but like poltergeists can only effect the world for a limited time before the must "rest." Despite this they have a incalculable amount of knowledge and vast power. Baron Samedi, Agent Dazzle's alter ego, was a god and he displayed the abilty to not only summon enough destructive power to rivel an atomic bomb at will but also fully ressurrect the dead. And like all spirits encountered by Spookhouse, Spirits are always elusive, mysteryous, and chaotic. It is said the only thing that can destroy a god is another god.

Lycanthrope

Up until a few years ago, Spookhouse believed that only one type of lycanthrope (the werewolf) existed, but other species have been cropping up. Its is now believed that any lycanthrope species is not out of the question, but the hybrid form is always that of another mammel. All share the same general aspects. They are shapeshifters who have the ability to transform from a normal mundane human into a hybrid of another animal usually gaining a 80% mass increase while in this form. While in human form, they are indishtinable from normal humans. In reality they are twice as strong with olympic caliber agility and speed. However in hybrid form, the lycan is twenty times stronger and faster than a human. Their senses are also far superior, and have razor sharp claws and teeth. They have regenerative abitlities about the same as a nosferatu. On top of this, with the exception of the Alpha's in each pack, they sink into a feral state, obeying only their Alpha's order's. Alpha Lycanthrope are to lesser lycanthrope as Vympirs are to nosferatu and are able to maintain much of their mind even in the hybrid form. Contrary to popular beleif they can transform at any time, even during broad daylight, but during the full moon they are particulary beastial. They can only be killed by massive physical trauma or silver weaponary (which stifle's their regeneration powers).

As I stated earlier, this is just a SHORT list of monsters you may encounter in your careers. As always, while one may never truly "expect the unexpected" one can always prepare for it. You can expect to come across a great many monsters in your travels, some that can never be wholly defined by words or even thought.

In Regards to Magic and Religeon

It is not the cross that can shield one from evil, but rather the faith behind it. But what is faith? Is god faith? No. Faith is the belief that God is supporting you. So by extension does that make God little more than a tool? Not quite. Faith can grant one to do amazing things, both for good and for bad. And Spookhouse has narrowed it down to what Faith really is as is its ability to repel and destroy such dark creatures as vampires.

Faith is belief, and through your belief your are imposing your will. Imposing your will through this means can be described as magic. Faith is magic, yet magic is not calculable, not measurable, and hence does not exist. But indeed it does exist, so it can only exist in the mind.

Magic is the mind. The mind gives birth to will, and may be called upon by means of a focus of some sort. Hence, faith is the mind. In other words, faith is a medium people may use to draw out innate psychic power. If this offends some who view faith as a way to reach out to God, look at it as a tool given to pretect you by Him. So indeed He is protecting you, shielding you from harm by giving you tools to work with. For those that view faith and psychic power as a science, it is just that, a intrinsic, natural part of being human.

It has aways been known that every human on the planet is at least partially capable of psychic power, some are more talented in its use than others. It takes almost any form imaginable; faith, telekinsis, pyrokinsis, necromancy, magic, etc. But it can always be measured. It should not be confused with demonic power which is derived from a much darker source.

Sisters in Darkness

The following is a brief description of allied organizations which are sometimes called upon to help Spookhouse, or calls upon Spookhouse to help them.

The Illumanati

Formly the Knights Templar, they are the true rulers of the world. Yet ruler isn't an accurate term, so the refer to themselves a facilatators of history. They guide humanity, maintaining a sort of balance. To think of them as a less self centered and bueracratic form of the United Nations would be an accurate assessment as well. They manage the proggression of technology as to not overwehlm humanity (They had the capacity to clone humans in 1958), balance power with culture, manage mans urge for violence, ration the world's resources, manage media, and write "lasting" history. The main relation they have to Spookhouse is should one of their media or information inlets acquire a report of supernatural dealings, they hand it over to Spookhouse.

Majestic 12

Also known as the Men in Black (MIB). This para-military force handles both security for the Illumanati as well as research and defense of extra-terrestrials in much the same way as Spookhouse handles the supernatural. Sometimes the two agencies work together to determine the cause of a particular happenings. Works under the direct command of the Illumanati.

Delta Force

And open secret in the US government, its the black ops branch of the military. Sometimes called upon to cover up a situation or provide extra muscle the world over.

MI7

Originally Great Britain's version of Spookhouse, it has been assimulated into it. Regardless, MI7 now fills a row simular to that of Delta Force with crack SWAT teams trained to handle basic supernatural phenomena.

Forward

Well I hope to hear from people soon. The rp itself will actually be run very episodic, almost like a series rather than one huge overlapping story, with plenty of input from the players. Also, as with all my rps, don't be afraid to risk your character and go out on a limb. Don't be afraid of a reprisal made by me if what you did wasn't completely random or rp bombing. What I'm trying to say is have fun, look at this as not an essay but as a Role Playing GAME! That is of course if people are interested. ^^

Spookhouse Agent Application

Name: Marcus Daniel Czarnecki

Age: 28

Gender: Male

Species: Human, mundane

Appearance: Ruggedly handsome, he is rarely seen without a shadow of a thick beard and mostache. Well built, he hasn't let himself go from his army boot camp days. Usually wears a brown leather coat and an old fashioned short brim fedora.

Height: 6'2''

Weight: 175 lbs.

Powers/Talents: Nothing supernatural. What Marcus brings to Spookhouse is an uncanny knack for in-depth investigation and dogged pursuit of the facts. He is also a talented, trained marksman with most firearms and trained in military close combat. His military backgrounds also gives him considerable amount of leadership expierence.

Personality Profile: Agent Marcus Daniel Czarnecki in many ways emulates the classic/stereotypical private investigators such as Sam Spade, Sherlock Holmes, Kolchak etc. which in terms of Spookhouse is nothing but a boon. He is always questioning, not only does he seek who, what, and where, but also the how and why. Marcus is an intellegent problem solver and is highly adaptive, even to what some would call disturbing truths. He takes the existance of the supernatuaral in a stride as if he had always known of it. Brutally candid, but at the same time able to keep a secret, among all the Spookhouse agents Marcus is one of the few who is truly in his element. The only drawback to Marcus is that he has a tendency to look at his job as a "great adventure," which indeed it can be, but he has a tendency to take great risks that places himself (though rarely others) in danger or continue a mission without much needed backup and/or support.

Biography: Born June 21, 1989, in Joliet, Illinois, Marcus grew up in the lower middle class section of the city. He attend school and graduated high school. After high school, he attended a community college for one year majoring in law enforcement and criminal justice but quit to join the United States Army. This move was so that Marcus could expand his understanding of the world and his place in it. In 2007, he completed basic training and was oddly shipped overseas to Iraq.

In Iraq, serving in the Army as a Private First class and later as a later as a 1st Lieutenant, he served with distinction. In 2010, he returned to America, embittered by both the US government, foreign politics, and humanity in general. Despite an offered rank promotion, Marcus left the military and resumed his study of law, eventually landed a job with the Chicago PD. In 2014, he made detective and up until late 2015 he continued a successful career in homocide investigations. Disaster struck when Marcus confronted and choose not to use lethal force (even though it was warranted) against a killer threatening a twelve year old girl. He successfully subdued the killer, but month later the killer was freed on a technicallity due to a wave of actions against police brutality. The killer found the girl again, tortured and murdered her. He later surrendered himself to police stating that "My job is done."

Marcus, once again embittered by society's self-destructive hypocripsy and its reluctence to fight wrongness and injustice head on as well as guilt stricken. He resigned his position and job as a detective, and started his own private investigation buisness (Which as a child he had always wanted to do). In mid 2016, he took a job in which a estranged husband was suspicious that his ex-wife was vandalizing a summer home they share as part of their settlement. This summer home was also the subject of a Spookhouse investigation of a level 8 poltergeist. Marcus came into contact with Agents Thomson and Aria during their inquiry to the haunting. He witnessed Aria become possessed by the poltergeist and the subsequent exorcism which drove out the hostile ghost. Mission completed, Thomson and Aria tried to stave off Marcus's inquiry, eventually retreating after losing his tail. For the next few monthes, Marcus followed Thomson and Aria's track, eventually stumbling upon other Spookhouse operations. One evening in firts qaurter 2017, Marcus was found on Spookhouse HQ's doorsteps, with an inquiry. Spookhouse offered him a job. He accepted.

I know you're not terribly enthusiastic about this, but I thought I'd give it a shot. I do have a contingency plan. wink.gif

Name: James Winston Frisby

Age: 20

Gender: Male

Species: Human/were-hamster

Appearance: Nothing about Frisby's outward appearance is out of the ordinary. He has very short, bristly blond hair which reaches down just past his ears in the back, common brown eyes, is lean and lithe in build, and has rather nondescript facial features, with average-sized everything. His wardrobe varies, as he tends to ruin his clothing rather quickly, but he never wears anything tight or heavy.

Height: 5'8.5"

Weight: 152 lbs

Powers: In his human form, Frisby has above average combat skill. He is well-trained in Muay Thai, Tae Kwon Do, Judo, and good ol'fashioned, down and dirty street fighting, at roughly a third-degree black belt level in each. He carries a switchblade and a Colt Python at all times. In his hybrid form, he develops clawed paws, making him largely incapable of utilizing his martial arts training; however, his incisors grow quite long and sharp, and he has sufficient power in his hind legs to spring forward as far as fifteen feet to attack an opponent. He has no psychic or supernatural powers apart from his lycanthropy. He is very well-educated in regards to the supernatural, but his real-world knowledge is quite limited.

Personality Profile: Frisby is naturally extroverted, slightly airheaded, and does not suffer for lack of quirks. Scientists who have worked on him all his life have managed to suppress most of the feral traits of his rodent side, but have not worked terribly hard on some of the other hamster instincts. Frisby eats once per day, at night, and hoards massive amounts of food in his quarters. His inner hamster is naturally attracted to people and he seeks their attention whenever possible. He has yet to find a real mentor who will teach him; Frisby is eager to learn, but rarely does he have the opportunity, or a teacher have the patience to instruct him.

Biography: Nobody really knows where Frisby's genetic roots are, but he first came into a home through an orphanage in Liverpool. Immediately after his birth, he was formally given over for adoption by parents who refused to hand over their own identities as well, and retrieved from the orphanage when he was three months old by an MI7 agent investigating a tip that unusual things were happening to a baby there. Immediately Agent Frisby found the source of the problem and brought him back to MI7 headquarters, naming him James Winston Frisby. MI7 scientists scrambled to cure him, searching for the answer in various lycanthropy treatments they had already developed, and building on that groundwork. Their efforts were largely unsuccessful, and James had to be confined at all times except while tests were being run.

The scientists did not find a major breakthrough in mitigating the effects of hamster lycanthropy until James was six. Even when they accomplished this, they could only take away the inherently violent aspects of hamster nature. James still proved to be the most problematic of problem children, and the scientists kept him at MI7 while they continued to work to suppress some of the other negative factors of James' illness. By the time they shot him up with enough drugs that he could function in society, he was already twelve years old, and far too old to begin basic education. Nobody was left at MI7 to take care of him; the doctors were fed up and had other test subjects who needed further attention, and his adoptive mother was killed in the line of duty when James was four; Frisby remains unaware that he ever had a mother. Around that time, Spookhouse was being resurrected in America, and they were happy to accept someone they could groom into an agent at some point.

Over the course of the next eight years, as Spookhouse grew more and more back into its former self, James' education became intensely specialized. Daily he was instructed in dealing with and battling against the supernatural, and he learned various martial arts and the functions of certain weapons. It was during these eight years that his benefactors learned that James Frisby was not only a very rare hamster lycanthrope, but an alpha male as well. The focus was shifted less from the book-learning and even more toward combat upon this discovery, and James became more capable of controlling his shapeshifting abilities as well. After eight years of intensive training, James Frisby is now a full-fledged Spookhouse agent -- although he probably will never be allowed to run a solo mission.

Sorry for the long wait Erdrick, but I've been dealing with some rather uncomfortable stuff on the home front. Anyway! Great bio! You didn't happen to have played Nocturne the game have you? Excellent in all respects, and I look forward to writing with you again.

As for the others who contacted me, I hope to hear from you as well! I'm looking forward to this new rp happy.gif
SharkFinn
Oh good, there's more than two of us. ^^;

No, I haven't played Nocturne, and frankly I hadn't heard of it until this RP. I'm actually interested now, I might go look it up but I have to bump up my trombone playing from half an hour to two, two and a half so I will have less time.

Side note, fixed a minor bio inconsistency. I changed his middle name towards the end of development and didn't notice the old one got mentioned in the bio. >_<
Sydra
I'll probably join, I have couple ideas, right now I'm leaning towards a character with PK abilities. I kinda wanted to see other people ideas, so I change stuff so I wouldn't end up having a character with the same abilities as another.

All hail the mighty and fearsome hamster. XD Didn't see it coming.
Kurt
Woah this seems like a great idea. I'd LOVE to join. Uhm, I'll make my application tonight/tomorrow. And..have it to you uh....by sometime this week. >_>;

Spookhouse Agent Application

Name: Sarah Rose Fayth a.k.a. Shikyo

Age: 15

Gender: Female

Species: Dympir (The second I read about this class, I knew I wanted my character to be one, but it's of course all up to you...)

Appearance: Very pale skin. She has medium length dark blue hair that is tied up into bun. Usually wears black or very dark clothing (dark tanktop and black pants, etc..). She is usually stern and also always has a blank stare. Carries a long katana on her back at all times.

This isn't exactly what I pictured but it's definitely close. My computer screen is messed up and kinda colorblindish so I can't tell how dark/light the blue is, but it's supposed to be blue on the verge of black. Her shoes didn't show up for some reason, but pretty much black sneakers/heels.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
(Should give thanks to tektek.org for they're Dream Avatar creator which allowed me to create this.)

Height: 5'6"

Weight: 119 pounds

Powers: She is very talented with a blade and, since she is a Dymir, she can heal injuries at a faster pace than humans. She speaks fluent Japanese and plays a small flute she made herself. When she meditates, she can see her near future.

Personality Profile: Shikyo was given her nickname from her very fierce personality. Although she is extremely stern and quite, she is very fluent is both English and Japanese. She is usually a loner and tries to stay away from males due to her past. Is extremely deadly with a blade and is known to cut down anybody who bothers her.

Biography: Born in the year 2002, Sarah was raised by her mother, an alchemist who focused on making medications. Her father, Lord Fayerthere, cast her mother out of his life after Sarah was born. Her mother was very very serious when it came to just about anything. She did not trust anybody, and kept a small stash of blades and knives in case of an attack. Sarah was not allowed to talk to anybody and was unable to receive and education, so she taught her self through books. By age 9, she learned to speak Japanese and play a wind flute she carved herself.

A month after her thirteenth birthday, Sarah's home was taken over by a small group of thugs. Her mother was killed while she herself was raped and then thrown out into the streets. Eventually, Sarah was able to get many of the townspeople to help her get rid of the men. Everybody burned her former home to the ground crushing all five of the men. When Sarah went searching for any small item left unharmed, she came across a katana that she had not remembered seeing. A neighbor found her mother's body and when she saw the horrible burns on her mother's face, Sarah grabbed her flute, the katana and ran.

Throughout her teen years, she continuously slept on park benches and, since she was unwilling to be part of another family, had to steal and, unfortunately, kill for money to live. Five months later, she was approached my a tall man who offered her a chance of a life time, to act as a hitman, and kill targets she was assigned. She quickly refused knowing that she would only kill if necesary. He continuously offered her more and more until she finally took the man's money aggreeing that she wouild be payed $500 per hit.

"If a mission is not finished, your punishment will be death." That was her only rule. Though she was not particulary proud of her acts, she knew that if she did not continue, she would die from lack of food. The man soon took her under his care and taught her how to use the katana she carried with her. It turned out that the man she was with was not the man in charge of her "missions" but simply her payer. She recieved numerous hits that tested her skills and speed. She was soon given the nickname Shikyo (death). After months of killing, she finally received one that crossed her boundaries. Her objective was to kill the man she had slowly warmed up to.

She had to do it, she had to kill the man, she refused to die like her mother. While he was sleeping, she used a fast acting toxic to kill him before he would wake up. But after this deed, she went back into hiding, not being able to believe that she would kill the only person she had that even resembled a family.

After her experience with her mother and then the man, she became very bitter and quiet. She would play her flute much more often, always playing slow sad songs that matched her emotions exactly. She would meditate and pay attention to the world much more closely. She realized the horrors of her victems and those who cared about them and realized that the people's family's that she hurt must have felt like her. She grew to hate herself and what she had done all while becoming very cold and bitter.

On the anniversary of her mothers death, (it is now 2017 and Shikyo is 15) Shikyo was meditating and saw a man being attacked by what she could only classify as a zombie. She had heard all of the rumors about Birn but never truely believed them but when she saw the man being attacked, she knew that she could finally turn her life around and maybe even help people so she seeked for somebody, anybody who could give her information about the supernatural when she came across a man from an orginization called Spookhouse. She had never heard of them but was very interested. She officially became a member of Spookhouse in the middle of 2017.

Now this is only my second RP I've joined so go easy on me. I just thought about this character all last night and wanted to base it on a charatcer design I originally had and wanted to find a RP to match it. The ending is shaky and it's definitely not the best but I was running short on time and thought it should be sufficient. I also took the Mary-Sue test, and it FAILED bigtime, but her, I'm sure it'll be alll good.

Name: Ariana Emma Flores

Age: 19

Gender: Female

Species: Human

Appearance: Training has toned her body however her delicate frame will never allow for much muscle gain. Despite her age, Ariana's form looks more girlish than womanly. Her large, dark eyes that dominate her face complete the effect. People have a tendency to assume that she is a girl of early to mid-teens. Ariana's feature are small and regular though there a unusual cast to her features that suggest multiple ethnic backgrounds in her heritage. Her dark brown hair falls to her shoulder, curling inward gently.

Height: 5'3"

Weight: 108

Powers/Talents: Ariana has PK (psychokinesis or telekinesis) abilities. Her PK strength is equivalent to that a fairly strong male human. Her power is limited only by the weight of an item and not its bulk. That being said she can slide a heavy, large bed across a room, though she would likely not be able to lift it up and fling it across the room. She can also lift multiple objects at the same time however the sum of the weight of the items determine whether she can lift another, not the weight of the individual item.

Living objects- Ariana is incapable of "lifting" living entities up, but she can "push" them. The reasons for her inability to lift life forms has yet to be determined.

Self- Ariana can levitate to a certain degree, she describes it as "pushing" the floor away from her. Levitation is hard for her to maintain though as she tends to lose her balance.

Ariana has had training in firearms, but she is an average marksman at most. She has also has been given training in self defense.

Personality Profile: Agent Flores is quiet and thoughtful, however she tends to be quick to anger when somebody does something in conflict with her morals and is well known for her controlled rages. As her anger increases her PK strength, emotional detachment was not encouraged during her training. Flores tries not to let her emotions affect her decisions.
Ariana when not working on a case is playful, a bit of a flirt, and much more talkative.

Biography:
Ariana was born in Portland, Maine on a rainy March day in 1998. She was the second child of three and the first daughter of the Flores family. Her father worked as electrician and her mother as a secretary. For the most part, they seemed like a normal middle class family. Her father had alcoholic tendency and at fairly regular intervals would fight with her mother. The Flores children suffered the brunt of his frustration. After several conflicts with neighbors and other relatives, the family moved to New Hampshire in 2011.

It was after they moved into their new home that strange incidents started to occur. At night their house became alive with sound and items would move by themselves. Upset by the disturbances, the family contacted the local church. A priest was sent to exorcise the house, but was unsuccessful. The priest referred the family to paranormal investigation group. The members that came were of course, Spookhouse agents. As a level one poltergeist was suspected at the residence due to the weight of some of things moved they sent four agents experience with poltergeists and exorcism.

During the course of their investigation, the agents realized that the source of the haunting was not a ghost but rather the thirteen year old Flores daughter acting out her anger and fears subconsciously. As it was clearly evident to agents that the children were being abused, an arrangement was made for the removal of the children from the household and into foster care. Ariana was sent to live with associates of Spookhouse, who knew what she was. She was slowly introduced to her own powers and aided in controlling them. She was also given significant amount of counseling to aid her deal with the issues she retained from growing up in an abusive household. By her 18 birthday she quite ready to join Spookhouse, the agency that she felt to have not only saved her but helped her realize who she really was.

Bleh, I'm a bit out of practice, I'll be glad when all this stuff with my house is done with. I did start working a little case report by one of the agents investigating Ariana's case for the biography section, but my writing is sucking right now. XD

Spookhouse Agent Application

Name: Maria Elise Reynolds

Age: 28

Gender: Female

Species: Human

Appearance: Quite an attractive woman she has thick curly, golden blonde hair with midnight blue eyes. Wearing all black she has a long sleeved button down shirt with cotton pants and flat soled boots. She tends to wear a light trench coat over her clothing and dark sunglasses to help conceal her identity.

Height: 5'8"

Weight: 125 lbs.

Powers: Maria being human, has no extraordinary, spiritual powers. However, she is considered the best female in her organization and one of the best overall with guns of nearly all sorts from rifles to pistols to shotguns. Maria is also well versed in CQC (Close Quarters Combat). She also has a relatively uncommon mastery of the japanese katana, a weapon which she rarely decides to use.

Personality Profile: Quite a calm and collected woman, she can sometimes appear to have a lack of trust for those around her along with a somewhat cold manner of speaking. She doesn't talk about herself and prefers to stay off the subject of herself when necessary besides explaining what it is she does, vocationally. A woman solely focused on her job, she finds small talk pointless and a waste of time, preferring to get what needs to be done as quickly as possible. However, Maria is not one to rush into a situation. Being quite intelligent for someone her age, she knows quite a bit about the past of Spookhouse, it's members and their past missions as she is connected being a part of an allied organization. When needing to form a plan for a mission or what have you, she tends to be the one to look to.

Biography: Born July 5th, 1989 Maria was raised in a simple middle classed home in suburban Connecticut. Graduating both from High School and College with considered 'excellent grades' as her parents said, she went on to the military academy for the FBI. Continuing to excel in her class for marksmanship and hand to hand combat she passed into the FBI with few problems. Becoming both a Field Agent and Criminal Profiler she helped put away many violent murderer's across the United States. Deciding to move on after only three years, she recieved a relatively quick acceptance into the CIA thanks to complimentary notes from her superiors.

Off on assignment for a diplomatic mission in Japan, Maria and her comrades were blindsided by an apparent 'inside job' from a rebel organization in the Japanese government who had allied themselves with the Yakuza. From the surprise attack, there was a violent end on both sides, all of Maria's fellow agents being killed in the crossfire. Maria had somehow managed to take out the rest of the Yakuza but the rebel group's leader had thrown her out of a window. Waking up in a hospital, she quickly left after having her wounds treated, already very aware that the CIA had already disavowed any knowledge of her existence. They were considered nothing more than part of a Japanese internal power struggle. With all of her belongings taken, it was impossible for her to leave or use her 'American identity'. Leaving to one of the smaller Japanese islands she changed her name to Kaoru Mizako, joining a solitary dojo. There she trained in swordsmanship under an elderly master. Mastering the katana as well as her master could train her, Maria quickly returned to Tokyo, secretly boarding a ship headed for America full of local Japanese seafood.

Returning bluntly to the CIA HQ, she stated her American name and somehow came to meet and speak her situation with the CIA Director. After explaining everything that had happened, he had a background check on her performed and records as to what happened on that Japanese mission which had been two years prior. Due to the CIA Director being an Iluminati Agent, which was linked to the MIB, he sent in a good word for her, getting her a job in the MIB. Although a rare woman with the Men in Black she joined the esteemed group at only 26 years of age. She currently is employed in the organization and has aided in several missions with Spookhouse. With the missions she has taken part in, it furthers the ease of tuning down any irregularities that may come up, seeing as her record and existence was wiped clean during the Japanese incident; technically being, Maria does not officially exist. While being involved with Spookhouse for less than two years, she is used to seeing rather frightening supernatural experiences that would scare the wits out of a normal human although she is still inexperienced. Even though she has not seen all that Spookhouse has to offer, her skills were and continue to be a great asset.

I have updated this roleplay onto the Drache RP Archive site where you can check the info and profiles easily. ^^ [This] is the link to it. I hope you guys find it useful. ^^

Stranger, I'm thinking of joining but I want to ask a few questions first. One, can I have a Vympir? Two, how old can she get? Is it right to assume that vympirs cannot use magic or psychic powers aside from those physical enhancement and powers stated?
Stranger
Heya Exire! Good ta meet-cha! Your profile is very good, but there are a few tiny errors to it. One, the rp is set in 2017 which would make Maria 36 or so. You can simply change her age or change her birthday to 1989. Also the MIB (or Majestic 12) are a sub sect of the Illumanati, not the CIA. In fact, the MIB is not a branch of the American government, they are part of a world "Shadow Government." The easiest way for your character to join the MIB though, would be to have the CIA director be an agent of the MIB or more likely an agent of the Illumanati. Seeing her tenacity and devotion to duty, the CIA Director (Illumanati agent) recruited her for the MJ12 (MIB) since her background was already wiped clean and legally she didn't exist.

Oh and Sel, thanks for posting it on Drache! I had completely forgotten about that! XD

To answer your questions, yes, you can play as a Vympir. To be a vympir, she/he has to be at least 200+ years old, but please don't make a vympir over the age of 600. I forgot to mention as they get older, they get stronger in the sense that their strength and understanding of dark power matures, and those powers often have a sort of magical effect to them. This "Blood Magic" as vampires call it are only attainable by Vampire lords who regularly feed on the living and give themselves more wholly to "The Beast" that dwells inside them. Those vampires that bury their dark instincts with morals or codes cannot attain the dark art of "Blood Magic" (which I'll elaborate on later). Other than that, Vampire's and other monsters like them in general are incapable of using magic or telepathy other than those stated.
Exire
Ah, sorry about that. I was sort of confused with the dates since I thought it said in your starting post that the time was 2009 but then someone else's character had it in 2017. Guess I just forgot to ask. I'll change the CIA to MIB part for you too.

EDIT: I kept her age since I still want her to be relatively young for the human standard. I changed around her birthdate, which should be correct in her History part. I also changed a few things in the last paragraph as well. If its still not suiting or I confused something, let me know.
Seluna
Name: Elizabeth Carmilla Bishop, nicknamed Beth

Age: 324

Gender: Female

Species: Vympir

Appearance: She looks no older than fourteen, and had not yet finished her puberty when she was changed, thus retaining much of her child-like appearance on her elfin face and not yet fully developed figure, and acquiring that unnatural paleness. Long golden hair frames her face and flows down her back in beautiful curls, and accentuates her light blue eyes. She prefers to wear dresses to pants, though she is growing more accustomed to pants and feels that she may one day try them. She refuses to wear shorts or short skirts, but is surprisingly accepting of short sleeves and low necklines. Earthly colors like sandy brown, green and blue are her prefered color choice.

Height: 4'11'', 1.5 m

Weight: 110 lbs, 50 kg

Powers: The typical vampiric powers, though hers are of Nosferatu level even though by age, she is technically a Vympir. Under Spookhouse's coaching, she has learned to control and use her enhanced strength, speed and agility and is learning how to fight. She is not very good with levitating herself, often loses concentration and falls on the ground. She is highly uncomfortable with her thermographic sight but has gotten used to seeing better. However, she is pretty good with shape-shifting, but prefers to change into a big black house cat instead of a bat (interestingly, she is now afraid of bats).

Personality Profile: She is the typical seventeenth century girl, raised to be a responsible mother and obedient wife, and automatically listens to (and in most cases, obey) the menfolks and others senior in age to her. Her friendship with Gabriel brought out the hidden intelligence and bold side of her, but at the same time, her friend's death made her melancholic and reluctant to befriend anyone. Having to adapt to the modern world rather abruptly, Beth is often uncertain of things that people find completely natural, and is easily startled or impressed. She will sometime become depressed or frustrated with herself, but usually only for short periods of time. She tries her best to not impose on others, and is eager to help others if it is something she can do. Because of her nocturnal habits, she does not spend much time with others and is sometimes a little lonely because of that.

Interesting note, she is still not used to automatic objects, especially electronics, after being around them for five years. Although she is capable of using the simplest of the items, she prefers to avoid them if she can. She finds them unnatural, but refuses to admit it and finds all sorts of funny excuses.

Biography:

She was born right after the Salem Witch Trial and is distantly related to Bridget Bishop, who was the first person to be hanged as a witch. Living near Ipswich Road, her parents were not strict Puritans like those others in Salem Village, though living in that society meant they kept up all the appearances. Elizabeth had a pretty normal childhood, all in all, though her parents was careful to make sure she did not engage in any suspicious activity that could bring unwanted attention to her.

Just when she hit puberty, things began to change. Livestock began mysteriously dying or disappearing, and there were sightings of an abnormally large animal or a forbidding dark figure at night. Beth herself caught a glimpse of it once, as a huge bat hanging upside down from a tree. When she told her parents, they forbade her to speak of it again in fear of causing a huge commotion that may result badly. It quickly seemed to her that the others also did much the same as her parents, and the whole affair was suppressed, though the air in town was one of fear and tension.

At the meantime, she began to blossom into a very pretty young lady and befriended Gabriel Adrian Harker, an outgoing but mysterious lady in her twenties who came from England to search for somebody. By accident, Beth discovered that Gabriel was a witch and vampire hunter, and she was actually hunting a vampire lord whom she refused to name. Which was rather ironic, considering Salem's history. However, Beth did not stay away from Gabriel because of that, but neither did she express interest in witchcraft. She simply liked the easy company of her new friend, and they stayed as friends.

But things did not continue that way for long, as one night, when the Beth caught sight of the huge bat a second time and ran to warn Gabriel, she was attacked by it and promptly fell unconscious. When she woke up, she found herself in a completely foreign place, with a tall and pale dark-haired man at her side. She also discovered that she felt completely different, and very hungry. It was more like a thirst, for something she could not quite identify right away. Confused and afraid, she asked the man what happened to her, but he did not answer, instead brought her to somewhere like a dungeon, pushed her into a cell already occupied by somebody, tossed a wooden stake in and locked the barred door behind her.

When the person in the cell called out to her, Beth was both relieved and dismayed to find that it was a badly injured Gabriel. The same feelings were reflected on the vampire huntress's face, for a very different reason, and she struggled to pick up the stake before she answered Beth's questions on what happened. Apparently, the bat that Beth had seen was the vampire lord, and when he discovered the girl's friendship with Gabriel, he decided to make use of her. He held her hostage against Gabriel, resulting in the witch's capture, and cruelly decided to turn Beth into a vampire to make Gabriel hunt her friend. It was then that Beth finally discovered what she was hungry for, and promptly lost her senses to her bloodlust and attacked Gabriel (on hindsight, she could have been influenced).

Wanting to save her friend from being eternally cursed as a creature of the dark, Gabriel made the decision to kill Beth and put on a fight. However, with her injuries and against the superior strength and speed of the vampire, she managed just to drive the stake into Beth's heart after Beth had drew a fatal amount of blood from her. As Gabriel laid dying, the vampire lord, who was watching all the while, came in to remove Beth from the cell and taunted the witch, telling her that Beth was not essentially dead, just comatose, and that one day, Beth will wake up and become that which Gabriel despise. Gabriel died weeping and praying for Beth's soul.

The vampire lord wanted to do exactly what he told Gabriel, but he was not stupid enough to wake Beth up to contest with him, as she was a virgin and therefore, more powerful than the normal Nosferatu. So he sealed her in a coffin, took her back to where he lived and hid her deep in his castle until the day she woke up by herself. Perhaps Gabriel's prayer worked, because Beth remained in torpor for some three hundred years. It was unknown what happened while she slept, but somehow or another, she ended in the hands of Spookhouse upon its resurrection.

She finally woke from her coma five years ago and spent most of her first year mourning her friend and learning to get used to the new world and her cursed body. Due to her 'age', she could technically be classified as a Vympir, though because of spending almost all of her vampire life unconscious, her powers are that of Nosferatu level upon waking. She feeds primarily on animals (cows, chicken, the likes) and blood packs, as well as artificial blood (which she complained to not taste very good). Though only sufficient as food and not source of power, Beth is content to stick with them and not feed on other people, as it would be as the vampire lord wanted and she believe that Gabriel will rest better this way.

Because Spookhouse takes care and protects her, she decided to repay them by working for them and has been training to do that. There was another reason, for she wants to inherit Gabriel's mission and avenge her friend by killing the vampire lord who cursed her, and staying with Spookhouse meant that she is more likely to find him.

Age: Unknown, though she did not exist until after the rise of Islam.

Gender: N/A (This particular breed of demon has no actual gender, though Barquijal refers to itself as a female.)

Species: Demon (Balrog)

Appearance: Barquijal takes two primary forms. That being her true demon form and that of a human avatar. In her human form, she appears as a woman in her mid to late twenties, usually dressed in whatever clothing might be available or provided. Her skin is tanned and her hair is long and black. The feature that stands out the most, however, are her eyes which are gold and glow softly in dark places. She stands around an average height while in this form, and has an average weight and figure as well. In her full demon form, Barquijal’s skin takes on the appearance of molten lava, the color often changing to suit her mood. Flames erupt from her body, though they are magical and cannot burn anything. She has large wings, the span at least twice as wide as she is tall. However, the wings themselves are unable to sustain flight as there is no flesh between the bows of her wings. Black smoke seeps from the cracks in her skin and when she is calm or keeps her emotions under control, the only light emitted from her form are a pair of pinpricks of light that represent her eyes. Her head has a pair of large horns, both of them jutting from her head sideways before curving forward and down, along her jawline. Her face is almost skeletal, with no eyes or nose. Instead, just light seeps out from the empty sockets. Her maw has no teeth, save for a pair of curved fang-like ‘teeth’ formed by the bone of her upper and lower jaw.

Height: 5'7" (12’0” in demon form)

Weight: 118 lbs (Weight in this form is unknown. Could very well be a couple of tons.)

Powers: (Human Avatar)

-- True Sight: Barquijai can see in a vague heat spectrum at night, allowing her to track difficult targets much easier than a normal human or someone equipped with NVG goggles, as NVGs can be blinded by bright lights. However, a powerful heat source can blot out this vision rendering her blind in the general area of said heat source. This is a genetic evolution and thusly, can't be turned on or off. It also only works at night, as the name implies.

-- Sixth Sense: Being a demon, Barquijal has sharpened senses, including a sixth. This sixth sense does nothing on its own, but when used in conjunction with another sense, multiplies the sensitivity of it. For example, if Barquijal target had a habit of wearing cheap cologne, she could sharpen her sense of smell to the point where she would be able to track him by his scent. If one of her heightened senses is over-stimulated, it usually causes a good deal of pain and might even result in injury. An example would be being exposed to a bright light while using heightened sight.

Powers: (Demon Form)

-- Heat: Barquijal’s standing body temperature is enough to boil water and cause most metals to bend. Though there are few manmade materials capable of withstanding this immense force, there are a few things that have a great effect on her. Water is one of her natural enemies, making transport of her across oceans a good deal more difficult if she’s unable to revert to her avatar form. Ice has less of an effect on her, as it usually is burned off into steam almost immediately, where as water can be constantly applied. Any chemicals that are used to put out fires (Halon, etc.) are also effective against her. Also, to prevent her body from setting nearby structures ablaze, this form is better suited to open areas.

-- Fear: All demonic beings exude an aura of fear. Whether merely a shaking presence or a powerful aura capable of inciting hysteria and panic, it is a potent ability. However, due to her lack of contact with other beings, this ability has been reduced to the former. Any mortal creature gazing upon Barquijal in her demon form is struck with an immediate sense of foreboding. This only has an effect against humans, as only humans have a concept of mortality.

Personality Profile: Barquijal has been around longer than most vampires, which means she has plenty of knowledge at her disposal. However, with it has come a rather humbled outlook. She knows just how short a human life is and how important it is not to waste them. She does not condone random slaughter as some of her bretheren might, but rather, protecting the sacred gift of life instead. Is is quite possible she is attempting to atone, but whatever her reasons, she speaks little. When she does, her voice is loud and clear, to the point and matter of fact. She rarely concerns herself with the affairs of other demons or undead beings.

Biography: Barquijal is, by definition, a demon of the Islamic faith. However, she is actually an ex-communicated Angel, banished from the Promised Land by Allah for her sins. What these sins were, Barquijal does not divulge. What is known is that, after her banishment, she ventured out into the depths of the Sahara Desert in Northern Africa, remaining there for well over 500 years. She gained the ability to transform herself into a human woman and traveled around the area she lived in, gaining knowledge about the world at large in the process. It was also during this time that she went north and took part in defending the city of Jerusalem against the Crusaders. Afterwards, she was contacted by the Illuminati. Intrigued with their ideals and goals, she joined their ranks before returning to Africa again.

It was not till the Nazis and Italian Fascists began their conquest of Africa did Barquijal make her presence known to the modern world. An entire division of SS Panzers vanished in the Moroccan desert on April 11th, 1943. At least, that’s how the report read on the side of the Allies. The report that landed on Hitler’s desk read differently. Using a sandstorm to cover her movements, Barquijal tore the entire division apart after it had finished laying siege to a string of Muslim mosques a few days earlier. Though she was seriously injured during the fight by repeated hits with tank shells, she managed to find a nearby mosque that hadn’t been destroyed. She reverted to her human form and was cared for till she was well enough to travel. Her travels continued for many more years before she ended up in Jerusalem again. The Illuminati contacted her about a paranormal investigation agency that was being rebuilt, called Spookhouse, offering her a position in their ranks. Barquijal accepted and was transported by an Illuminati elder personally to their headquarters in Chicago.

Excellent characters Asuka and Sel! Both approved ^^

As of this writing I'm working on the first post and it should be up tonight or early morning.
SharkFinn
One quick question. How are we supposed to respond to this? Are we supposed to attempt to advance the plot or just hang around HQ doing character development stuff?

Either way, writer's block... might not post for a while but I could have a flash of inspiration yet on Sunday.
Stranger
Sorry. I know I left it kind of open. As for the first post, its meant solely as a sort of intro for the characters and it tells me who is still in, and who is not.
Servant Saber
I have absolutely no idea how to write myself into that.

At all.
Stranger
Hmmm... Right. I'll modify it then some. In anycase, if you need help, just post something about the day to day lives of your characters or something related to their background.

Spookhouse Agent Application

Name: Dariya Akhatova
Age: 24
Gender: Female

Species: Lycanthrope (Snow Leopard - Alpha - Born)

Appearance:
Human
Hybrid
Pure

Dariya's hair is cut fairly short, and reaches only a short way past her chin. It is the color of dark chocolate, not black, but nearly so. Normally it is kept pinned back to keep it out of her face as she absolutely detests it getting in her eyes or in her way. Her eyes are a rich, bright brown, very slightly almond-shaped, and long-lidded. At five feet, nine inches tall she is of just more than average height, but not too tall and not too short. She weighs about one-hundred thirty-two pounds.

She is seen wearing all black, with the occasional blue or red thrown in, though it is typically only an accent of some sort, like a necklace or armband. A black shirt (usually a tank top), same color pants (normally cargo pants or tight-fitting leather), and a pair of combat boots. The boots are flat-soled (comfort first afterall), and are made of a black, unpolished leather. Her idea of dressing up (a rare occasion), she wears a simple skirt, usually black or red with a matching top. The more... fancy dresses aren't used as she never has (and hopefully never will) had to wear one of the uncomfortable, restricting things. Practical and comfortable is her motto for now though, so she sticks to things that she feels comfortable in and that allow for free movement and combat.

She carries herself proudly, and this is due to her upbringing. But if you watch carefully, there is a touch of uncertainty and sadness in her mannerisms, mostly due to the violent murder of her parents. Her eyes shift colors depending on her lighting or what she wears, though not dramatically, ranging from the light brown they normally are to a pale, striking yellow when she's angry. Dariya's face is lean, with prominent cheekbones that have a slight upwards slant to them. Her skin is pale and milky and you may even think vampire if you didn't know any better. She has a wide, but somewhat thin forehead that leads down to a small, ever so slightly curved nose. Her lip is pierced on the right side, two small studs side by side just below the line of her lip. All jewellery she wears is silver. Her body is slim and supple, with just a barest hint of curve, and has an overlay of lean muscle that marks her for high endurance and just enough strength to make you think twice. Dariya tries to keep clean, but isn't a fanatic about it. If she gets dirty, she takes a bath. Simple.

Height: 5'9"
Weight: 132 lbs.

Powers: Lycanthrope (hybrid and pure form). Specializes in winter combat tactics, survival and stealth. Expert fighter with most blades and a passable shot with guns and tactical equipment. Her weakness lies in that she cannot tolerate heat very well. Prolonged exposure to it weakens her abilities and makes her sluggish, much longer than that and it will cause death. A week at most is her threshold for extreme heat exposure.

Personality Profile: Dariya (at times) has a volatile temper and can get angry quite easily. When she does get mad you had better watch out.... She is sometimes cold to those she does not know or trust, and this leads many to believe she is snobbish. However, it is simply a way for her to control her emotions. To protect herself from getting attached to someone and having that person leave. It's happened to her before, so she does her utmost to put on a facade of distance (to most).

To the young alpha her ideals are the one thing that matter most in life and she will protect them viciously. She is very loyal and can often be stubborn at times but she is far from stupid. She knows when it is best to back down and she won't just jump headlong into a situation without first taking the consequences into consideration. Normally. Many things make her mad but the one thing no one really wants to do is mess with her sense of right and wrong, or those she has decided to protect. She is fiercely protective, and won't stand for anyone to harm whatever she is protecting, even if it costs her life.

Dariya tends to hold grudges, but not for long. She is simply too logical to think that holding a grudge really does anything but make things worse. Enemies are a possibility with her, but a slim one. A person would have to do something really horrible (she would have to believe it horrible anyway) for her to label someone an enemy. These include: anyone who has killed for self-gain or anyone who takes advantage of one who cannot defend themselves. Other things that will cause extreme dislike (but not a declaration of hatred) are chatterboxes, snooty people, those who believes something despite evidence to the contrary (yes she is a hypocrite at times), and those who stereotype others or are wantonly cruel or sadistic.

Biography: Born in 1993 in a small hospital on the outskirts of Perm, Russia, Dariya grew up knowing exactly what she was. Her parents were lycanthropes as well, and thus she grew up in a loving, caring environment. The Ural mountains were perfect for her kind, and early on in her life she got a taste of winter sports, snowboarding turned out to be her favorite. Something about the sheer speed and relative lack of control appealed to her wild side. Turning was something she did early on. At little more than a year old her mother walked out of the room and away from the crib. When she turned around, a tiny cub was wobbling back and forth in front of the bars, yowling to get out.

Once she was old enough to understand her parents told her one very important thing. To never shift in fromt of anyone but family. This was drilled into her head, and still shows in her reluctance to do so even today. little older (around 5) her father would have little mock battles with her, slowly teaching her hand to hand combat. Her mother would often come and watch these sessions, and when her husband was done would take her to the shooting range (when she was around 10) and have her practice with whatever kind of weaponry she could get ahold of. Training with blades began around the time she was 12, and Dariya showed an astonishing aptitude for it.

It was around this time that she finally realized something. Where she lived.... was not normal. What kind of a normal home would have a shooting range? What kind of normal family would teach her to fight at such a young age? This realization coincided with her discovery of television, something her parent's brought in on a whim but never really thought about the effect it would have on their daughter. Something further was realized then. What kind of home consisted of three rooms, a shooting range and access to mountains on your doorstep? In a conversation that left her parents shaking their heads at her whirlwind of speech she found out a few things. Her parents were Spetsnaz (Russian Special Forces), and their home was a safehouse that operatives used when not on assignment. Once she found that out, she began pressuring them for more training. Her parents were her idols, and she wanted to be as much like them as she possibly could.

At 15, her father took her on a trip into the mountains, driving several days out into the wilderness. They stopped at a peak in the Ural's, getting out to stretch and he ended up leaving her there without a word. The older lycanthrope's words echoed in her head then. If she had been paying attention she would have known what was coming. "Dariya, the most important lesson is how to survive, and you won't always know when you need to." Now she was forced to work her way down the mountain, staying in her pure form much of the time simply to prevent death by freezing. When she got home, flashing lights alerted her to the presence of police and she approached cautiously, shifting back to human form and creeping close.

Then she smelled the blood and the scent of wolf.

Breaking out of hiding she streaked past the barrier and into the house, stopping stock still at the sight of blood all over the walls, pieces of flesh scattered everywhere. Dariya's eyes widened as she recognized one of the pieces. It was her father's tattoo, the one he had on his bicep. Collapsing and staring in sheer shock, she began to sob violently, not seeing anything going on around her, including the attempts that were made to speak to her, and moments later to move her. She just simply... refused.

It wasn't until she woke up later, head resting on a pillow stained with tears, that she even realized that she had fallen asleep or even been moved at all. A movie that she had watched recently came to mind, an oldie but.... "I don't think we're in Kansas anymore." That prompted a slight, hysteric giggle and suddenly she couldn't stop. It wasn't until a woman walked in, tall and intimidating, that she finally did. Then she was told that she was at the training facility for Spetsnaz.

This began her "new" life, and instead of grieving she supressed it, throwing herself into training with a fervor that surprised her superiors but not her psychologist. At 18 she was sent on her first mission into the Ukraine, and though she did not agree with the objective she did her duty. Or to be more accurate she revelled in being out of her proverbial cage and was willing to do pretty well anything so that she would be let out again. Dariya still could not shift though, never having a moment of true privacy was a pain.... She would have remained this way, stuck, but for what seemed to be later like divine intervention. A joint mission between Spetsnaz and and American forces turned out well, but it wasn't until a transfer came in for her to be sent to America, and a spelled letter arrived in her hand that she really comprehended what had happened. Words began to appear on the page, and she almost dropped it in startlement.

Dariya,

I know not what you are, but what I do know is that you are not human. That alone got me to thinking, and I am sending you to Spookhouse. You would not have heard of it, but it is part of the world Shadow government and it monitors supernatural activity and deals with any... issues that may arise.

This is in no way an imprisonment of any kind, but I think that you may be more comfortable if you are able to get out more, though in the beginning they may be suspicious of you. Something about your eyes when I saw you, so feral and desperate... I knew you were going to snap if something wasn't done. I can see auras and have mild empathy myself, and that was the only reason that I was able to know that you weren't human.

I hope that you do well in your knew home child, and hope to see you again when we can speak more frankly and in more detail.

Sincerely,
Major Adams (MIB)

P.S. Yes you are right in thinking what MIB stands for. The movies did have some things right happy.gif

As soon as she finished reading it, the paper dissolved in her hand and she gave a startled oath, drawing a few odd looks from others as she walked down the street towards where she was directed to go. As it stands now she is just stepping off the elevator on the ninetieth floor, feeling as if a thousand eyes are on her, which, she admitted, there probably are. Approaching the front desk, the secretary not even looking up from her nails made Dariya mildly irritated.

"Lieutenant Akhatova reporting."

It was all she said, and then she stood there, her lean form exuding confidence and patience. She would wait as long as she had to for this woman to respond or for someone to come out and get her. She was expected wasn't she? Also... she had no intention of giving up what she was. Secrecy had been pounded into her head from the time she was little, and even if the Major was right and this was based on the supernatural, she still needed to be cautious. Besides, her mistrust was a hard habit to break and right now she knew no reason to even try.

Kyrsanth, I notice your character is on her way to visit the same room mine is in. Keep only this in mind.

My character is likely not going to speak. At all. No matter what you say. Her expression is, also, not likely going to change. Her companion is an Illuminati agent and is fairly average in personality.

----------------------------

Name: Gabriel Diovosky

Age: 259

Gender: Male

Species: Vampire (Vympire)

Appearance: How bout a picture?

I know, it's not the highest quality, but it's what he looks like.

Height: 6'1"

Weight: 170 pounds

Powers: He has a very limited shapeshifting ability, which he had never bothered to train under his family, and instead focused on both his fine muscle control, swordsmanship, and agility.

He comes from a long line of strong willed Vampires, and is able to shrug off the effects of "Faith" items, although to a very limited degree. The most well known accomplishment of what could be called "ignoring faith" was accomplished by the founder of his family. The Founder grabbed a large cross from the hands of a priest who was in his way, and stabbed the priest through the heart. Although his family takes encouragment from this, Gabriel does not relish in the fact that his ancestors killed a holy man.

Personality Profile: Gabriel is what you would expect from someone who has lived for any more than a hundred years, and has not grown up in fear. He is a very sarcastic and cynical person, with the aura of an arisotcrat. He has a compassionate side, and like most educated from when he was born, he does not enjoy to see a "lower creature" suffer. One of the most peculiar traits of his is something that both he and his family calls "Vampirical Liberty", the goal of having Vampires become a recognized race, to be considered equal to humans, rather than inferior. Because of that belief, Gabriel has never kept a Vampire as a servant or footsoldier, except for those who willing stayed with his family.

He is quite easy to take offense if you insult his family, and if he doesn't respect you extremely, you end up dead when you do. One of the things that keeps him going is what he believes to be a mission from God, to eliminate the lowly Vampires that are steadily growing in population.

Biography: The Diovosky is a small family of Vampires coming from the mountain ranges of Southern Romania. When they are there, they are hailed as heroes of the village, as they are continuously buying blood for...."medical examinations". Some people know that they are Vampires, but those who do decided not to care, since they are neither aggressive, nor parasitical by nature. Aside from spending money on medical blood, they also give charity to the people of the village, usually in forms of new lands from one of their former estates.

That was the family that Gabriel was born into. He was raised as a Deist, due to his parents enthusiams for free thinking, but in classical contexts. Gabriel has not kept some of the traditions, such as the wearing of 18th century clothes, as he claims that they aren't "suitable for attracting the human females.". When he was about ten years old, still very young as a vampire, he started training with his father, who had focused on close-combat knife fighting. Since those lessons, Gabriel has always been familiar with both swords and knives, and even designed his own "fang blades", which he attaches to his arm, and are quite effective when fighting other "lesser" vampires, who have a tendancy to prey on his village.

While his family continues to live in peace there, Gabriel began to become dramatically upset at the amount of "lesser" vampires who came in to attack what he considered to be his family, namely, the humans of the nearby village. With approval of his father, he left for America, in order to find further training, and even perhaps help with these vampires.

When he arrived in America, he was immensly attracted to the dark alleys of the cities, and began to hang around there. Like most of the "higher" vampires, he began to "attract the human females, who were quite beautiful, although very senseless." He was able to gather some information on the source of the lesser vampires from one of his "attractees", as he called them. He left for the west coast in order to further investigate this. When he uncovered nothing but a small cell of Nosferatu, he left the west coast after killing the cell, in order to prevent them from attacking humans. This was when the first Spookhouse agents began to take interest in him. They made contact with him, but he turned down their request "with the upmost respect". He told them that perhaps he would join at a later date, but his current mission was absorbing all his energies.

He looked around America, but found nothing of value, and left again for Europe, where he believed the other Vampires would be. He realized that swords and knives could no longer defend him against aggressors, and made his way towards the Heckler and Koch weapons dealer in Britain. He ordered a special pair of pistols, some of the first effective revolvers, and even provided the silver for the coating. He was quick to learn the art of making bullets, and found that if he introduced some of his own blood into the gun powder, the slightly magical properties would increase the effectiveness of the explosion. He began to make his own bullets, filled with Quicksilver, and used his special gunpowder in the cartridge.

Roaming Central and Western Europe for years, he found no trace of the lower vampires, and returned to Romania, disheartened. He arrived just in time, as his family had been driven from the castle, and the lower vampires he had been so desperate to find had overrun the village. Outraged at their complete lack of moderation in feeding, he exterminated all the lowly Nosferatu in the village, and left for his family's castle. The lowly vampires were wandering around the halls, carrying glasses of blood. Believing that he had found their master, he ran towards the room where he knew and Vympire would situate itself; the central hall.

When he came to the hall, the seat was inhabited by what appeared to be a sickly old man. Gabriel was unable to bring himself to shoot the old man, and dropped both his pistols. The man jumped from his seat, and appeared to go for his neck. Gabriel quickly brought up his gun, and shot the man through the heart, but recieved a sword wound through the hand. The old man disintegrated into a pile of dust, and Gabriel realized that he had just been tricked; the man was only a puppet. His hand had been crippled by the sword, which had been kissed by the devil, and he was severly weakened from his long journey. He found his way too his coffin, and slept for more than a hundred years.

When he awoke, the agents of Spookhouse contacted him, and he accepted, hoping to take down what he considered to be a rogue Vampire.

A pretty good char Vlad ^^

You can start when your ready. The only thing is that he really can't have a resistence to "Faith" objects, as it is not based off of a belief in god, its a denial of the existance of or power of the supernatural or otherworldly. He can have a strong willpower to shrug off some though. Just make that change and your in. Other than that its good... do I detect some inspiration from Alucard and Dante? biggrin.gif
Nani?
You bet you do!

I'll have to add his hat too, I forgot about it. How else could he possibly walk around in that annoying sun all the way towards your base?

Needless to say, he can't exactly fight in the sun, and the hat isn't bolted too his head. I just want it for a bit more character mobility, if that's alright.

EDIT: Fixed the profile, so I'll post tommorow, if I'm not too exhausted from lacrosse.

Well, most Spookhouse Missions take place at night ^^
Kyrsanth
............... What have you done! tongue.gif

Putting a wereleopard and werehamster on the same team?

A wereleopard that is exlusive to cold temperatures and a demon whose power is mainly fire?

OMFG this is going to be great! Heh, Frisby might come back a little chewed on though wink.gif
Nani?
Still, how else is he gonna get a slurpee from the nearest Mini-mart when he can't find blood?

And hats look cool.

Off-topic, I beasted at lacrosse, so I'm all happy and optimistic! Hip-hip! ZOMGZ VAMPIRES ON MY BED!!!

Spookhouse Agent Application

Name: Joseph Cornley

Age: 26

Gender: Male

Species: Human

Appearance: Medium height, slightly on the thin side. He has moppish dark red hair and is always seen wearing a pair of glasses. He wears long, somewhat tattered dark brown pants, a dark grey long sleave t-shirt, and a dark brown coat. He also displays irregular shaving habits, and is frequently seen with a short uneven beard.

Height: About 5'10"

Weight: 70 Kg

Powers: Joseph is a very mild psychic with the abilty to sense people, and some times their emotions. Other than that, he has a very gifted mind, and an almost sixth sense when it came to being a detective.

Personality Profile: Joseph is a confidant and outgoing person.

Biography: (I usually prefer to open my characters biography with a relevant short-story, something that explains my character, and shows my writing ability for the rp masters criticism)

Joseph woke up with a pounding headache, evidence of the previous nights activities. Tattered images and sequences flashed through his mind, he was uncertain what he was looking at. The blonde, a half empty bottle of whiskey, an angry bar maid, and one very large bouncer. Rolling over in his bed, Joseph spotted his alarm clock. 9:13 am.

'Damnit, I'm late for work.' Joseph made a weak attempt at getting up.
'Call in sick' Suddenly the restraints placed on Josephs body were removed, and he shot out of bed, looking around wildly.
'Who... who said that?' There was no reply. Joseph closed his eyes and rubbed his forehead. 'Maybe I'm going crazy.'
'Or maybe your just hungover. Either way, you late for work and your phone is about to ring.' Joseph again looked around for the voice. He saw nothing, and turned his sight to the table next his bed. Suddenly his phone started ringing. Joseph leaned forward to pick it up, knowing full well that it would be his partner, to yell at him for being late. Before he answered it, Joseph threw a quick look around the room, seeing nothing he picked it up and answered.

'Joseph speaking.'
'Jesus ##### Christ Joseph, twice already this week, and you think you get away with pulling this ##### again?' Joseph was holding the almost a foot away and the yelling was still pounding through his head.
'Something came up, my clock was broken, my cat died.' Joseph mumbled excuses into the phone.
'Be serious for once! You could lose your job this time, and I'm sick to death of sticking my neck out for you. This is just like that time...' Joseph groaned inwardly as he looked around for his smokes. They had the exact same argument every time Joseph was late. After finding his pack and sticking one in his mouth he looked around for a lighter. '...Are you even listening to me?'
'No' Joseph found a light, and with a click lit his smoke.
'You know what, you can just deal with Jameson, who by the way, I've never seen more pissed off, when you get in, and don't come running to me for help.'

Joseph put down his phone and looked around the room. The conversation brought Joseph crashing back to reality. Disembodied voices only exist in movies, and bad horror novels. He dismissed what had happened and began scrambling around his room, picking up pieces of clothing amongst the clutter on the floor. after getting what he needed he opened his door and made his way down the hallway to the bathroom. The rest of his apartment resembled his room, clothing, empty pizza boxes, and files were scattered around the place.

After the shower Joseph felt marginally better, The headache was still there, but the queasiness and unbalanced feeling had left him. He walked into his kitchen and grabbed a red bull from the fridge. He opened it up and drank almost half of it in the first go. He looked around his kitchen and started picking up the smoke packets that lay scattered about, hoping to find one. No luck. He shrugged his shoulders and made his way to the front door, he grabbed his keys and left for work.

Joseph parked out front of the station. Most detectives proffered to park in the car lot underneath the building, but Joseph preferred to take the front entrance, it allowed him to chat with more people on the way up. To get the latest gossip, and most importantly, as in this case, to get a gauge of just how pissed off Jameson was.

'Hey Anna' Joseph said to the woman at the front desk. She had been working behind the front desk for almost 15 years, and absolutely nothing went on that she didn't know about.
'Heya honey, when are you gonna shave that face of yours, your never going to attract any girls looking like that.' Joseph lifted a hand to his face and rubbed his beard, it had been a few days since he had shaved, and one side was noticeably longer than the other.
'Maybe I don't want to attract any girls, and besides, it keeps my face warm.'
'Hmph, I still think you would be much more attractive if you took a little more in the morning making your self look better.'
'Your beginning to sound like my mother.'
'Well, you should listen to her. Mothers know best.'
'So she tells me. Whats the word on the skipper?'
'Angry, in fact, I've never seen him so angry before. He didn't even have his coffee when he came in today. He always has his coffee with him.'
'Hmm, probably not gonna help that I'm late again huh?'
'I really don't think so. He told me to tell you that as soon as you got in to send you right up, he really wants to see you today.'
'Something must be up, it was probably my last case, he didn't like what I put in the report.'
'Was it the ghosts again? Or was it werewolves this time?'
'Actually, it was a vampire. Anyway, I better head up, if he's that anxious to see me, I better not keep him waiting.'
'Sure thing sweetie, tell, me, why do you bother with all this weird stuff anyway, ghosts and vampires?'
'Gives me something to do when on suspension. I'll see you around'
'Cya sweetie.'

Joseph turned and headed to the elevator. Waiting for it to open he thought about his latest case. It was a murder case involving a young stockbroker. He had been found in his home lying in an empty bathtub. There was blood all over him, at first it seemed like he had been stabbed to death, but when examined, there were no stab wounds, except for two small punctures on the side of his neck.

The elevator door opened, Joseph entered, then hit the number for the ninth floor

The autopsy of the man revealed that he had been completely drained of his blood. Further investigation revealed that recently he transferred all of his money (he was somewhat wealthy) to another account. The account belonged to a European man who had moved to the country about a year ago. After looking into the mans background, known as Eric Ambler, they found that there had been several large transfers into his account, across several states, since his arrival. It was then discovered that all of the people who had made the transfers were found dead, with all their blood drained. After contacting the various detectives across the country for information, they all returned the same story, that shortly after beginning the investigation, the FBI had taken over and to cease all investigations regarding Eric Ambler.

The elevator door opened and Joseph stepped out, he barely got halfway to his desk when he heard Jameson yell out.

'CORNLEY! Get in here now!'

Joseph sighed and turned towards Jameson's office. This wasn't going to be pretty he thought. He entered the office looked at his boss

'Hey skipper.'
'Shut the door Cornley' Jameson sat at his desk in the center of the room. The desk, like the room, was immaculate. Everything was perfectly neat. Joseph suspected that he even measured the desks items, and arranged them in almost mathematical precision.
'Look, if this is about me being late, it won't happen again, my alarm clock broke and I slept in. Not my fault.'
'You said that last Thursday, and the Monday before that. I'm not buying that #######.' Joseph didn't expect him to either. 'Your out of here.' This shocked Joseph. Although he had been late more than anyone else, he had one of the highest success rates in solving cases. 'What? you can't fire me, sure I've been once or twice, but it's nothing worth being fired for.'
'Did I say I was firing you? I said your out of here. Your being transferred.'
'What, transferred? Where to? Downtown, central? where?'
'None, FBI.'
'FBI?'
'They called me last night. Here, take this.' Jameson handed Joseph an envelope. Joseph opened it up and found a plane ticket to Chicago.
'Chicago? Why the hell am I going to Chicago?'
'That's where they are setting up some sort of new office. They want young, and bright detectives, who are open to any sort of detective work. I immediately thought of Andrews, of course, but he's too good to give to them. So, I'm off-loading you onto them. Don't stuff up, and don't make me look bad. That will be all.' With that, Jameson turned in his chair so he was facing away from Joseph.
'Huh, didn't expect this. Well, see you later skipper.'

Although Joseph tried to keep a calm attitude, he really didn't know what to think. He didn't in his wildest dreams ever consider something like this happening. He returned to his desk, hoping to spy his partner, but no he had no luck. It seems there was a Chinese wall being built around him. No-one talked to him, and everyone avoided him. Joseph quietly packed his things and made his way out of the building. He didn't even stop to talk to Anna when she asked him what happened.

As he made his way out to his car, there was a taxi, and a man standing next to it holding up a sign with the name JASON CRONLY written on it. Figuring it was unlikely to be a coincidence he walked towards the taxi.

'Are you waiting for me?' He called out to the driver.
'You Jason Cronly?'
'I'm actually Joseph Cornley, I think there may be a spelling mistake here.'
'Ah yes, it was you. Sorry, our radios are terrible, almost all you can hear is static. I've been sent here to take you to the airport.'
'FBI send you?'
'Don't know, just got told by my boss to be here, now, with this sign.'
'Huh, sounds pretty fishy.' Joseph was sure something wasn't right. The timing was too good, and he was pretty sure the sign was mis-spelt to get his attention. If his name was on it properly, he would have just walked straight on by. Stupid to be caught in such a basic trap.
'Listen, pal, I'm on a tight schedule here, I need to done with this in 25 minutes, or I'm gonna be late, can you just get in the car so we can leave?'
'But I need my stuff, I haven't even packed yet.'
'We've got people who are already dealing with sir. We need to be going, now.' The driver's whole demeanor changed in a heartbeat. Joseph got the feeling it wouldn't be wise to drag this out any longer.
'Ok, let's go then.

The ride to the airport was uneventful. All attempts to pry information from the driver were pointless, he seemed intent on staying tight-lipped. "These guys must be spooks" Joseph thought to himself. He wasn't sure what to do, so he waited out the ride until they got to the airport.

He was greeted immediately after exiting the taxi by a young man who took all of Josephs stuff out of his hands. He told they would be returned to him upon his arrival at Chicago. Joseph wasn't so sure. He walked up to the flight check-in with only his ticket in hand and gave it to the woman behind the counter.

'I'm supposed to be getting on this plane, where abouts is gate 19?' He wasn't really sure what where he needed to be. So asking seemed to be the only option. The woman took the ticket, looked at the ticket, then tore it up.
'Sir, I have here that you are to be given a new ticket, on a new flight. The gate is 37, you will find it if you go down to your left, and take the turn at the wing for terminals 31-40. Do hurry, the flight is waiting on you, and they are not patient. Have a nice day.'
'What the?'
'Please do hurry Sir.' Her tone of voice indicated that he should hurry and get to the plane.

He hurried down the hall and turned when he needed to, He flashed his ticket to the person behind the gate and ran down the walkway to get into the plane. When he finally entered it was not all what he expected. It was a small private jet, maybe for about 10 people. There were several television screens along the sides of the plane, and a large hologram projector near the center. The seats ran around the sides instead of the usual rows, and it had air of luxury about it. Everything was polished and there was even a bar fridge. He walked in and stood in marvel for a moment before a voice over the intercom brought him to.

'Hello and welcome to today's flight. The flight will be approximately five and a half hours long. We expect minimal flight difficulties with weather reports indicating smooth sailing. The time at our arrival destination will be approximately 5:30 pm, so please, remember to set your clock forward two hours. Thank you for your co-operation, and please enjoy your flight on the SpookJet.'

'SpookJet? What the hell is this plane, and why on earth am I on here.' Joseph sat down in disbelief, something must be amiss. The FBI don't have luxury private jets, especially with such ridiculous names. He felt the plane begin to taxi out to the runway, and the fasten seat-belt sign flashed above his head in the doorway. He immediately sat down and pulled the straps over his shoulders and secured himself into the seat. 'This is not right, something is definitely wrong.' He said out loud, to no-one in particular.

'Oh, I think you'll find it's perfectly right.' It was that voice again, this time however, it seemed to be coming from the seat directly opposite him. But once again, there was no-one to be seen.
'Who was that? What is this? Some sort of joke?'
'No joke. Keep your eyes on the seat in front of you.'

Joseph wasn't even sure why he was obliging the voice by keeping his eyes forward, and was just about to start looking around the plane again when suddenly, a person start to appear in front of him. It took a moment for features to become distinguishable, but he quickly realized that it was a woman.

'What the hell is going on?'

Joseph was beginning to freak out, he couldn't believe what was happening. He began to strain at his restraints, trying to get them off. He needed to get off this plane before it took off. Suddenly, he was jerked backwards into his seat as the planes thrusters launched the small jet off the runway and into the sky.

'Too late to leave Joseph.' Joseph stopped struggling and looked at the woman in front of him.
'Who are you. Your not FBI, and why have you taken me.'
'Well, my name is Joanna, and I'm a recruiter. I've been sent here to welcome you into our organization.'
'And just what organization would that be?'
'Why, Spookhouse of course...'

Eeek, I think I went just a tad bit over board on the intro there. As for a proper biography, there isn't really much to tell, he wanted to be a detective, so he did all the studying and courses to be one. Nothing terribly exciting I'm afraid. If this Profile is ok, my rp will start right where the story ends. I think it would be interesting to have a character in the story who is an absolute rookie, first day on the job when all the stuff happens. It would be quite a lot of fun to rp.

also, I just wanted to apologize for the grammer and spelling mistakes, I don't have Microsoft Word, so it was all written in WordPad.
Nani?
