just got the game and im confused.. how do i join a global chat to LFG, do I really need a group on the first missions that I ever do? I am so lost in this game so far, its not like World Of Warcraft or Ultima Online where it was pretty easy to pick up and just start playing.

I tried looking at Final Fantasy XI's official website but it is helpless..

I could use any help please in getting started. I made my guy on gilgamesh but I see we have a guild on carbunkle so mabye I will join there

First missions are preaty much soloable until you get to missions 1-3 and onward.

to join the global looking for party just type /inv it will put your flag up and add you to the current pool of people looking for a party group but its best to start doing that around level 10. you solo your first 10 levels almost always with all jobs

ok i might try that, if i get myself to play the game anymore.. I dont know I just got really frustrated easily with it in only like 30 mins of playing it... we will see, thanks for the help though..

oh and also, how do you switch your button config to where A,S,D,W can move your character?
