SonicX_Zero
The Tales series for the most part is much like the FF series where many or if not all of the main series titles are independent from one another. However in cases there are exceptions like FFX-2 and FFXII by a long shot to FFT, the same can be said for the Tales series, we have ToD2 for ToD and Phantasia with Symphonia.

So here's my question which would you prefer to see in the next main series installment? Would you like to see a new Tales game with new characters and whatnot? or would you like to see a continuation of any of the previous games like maybe a sequel to ToE or something? or maybe a remake of an old game with a new features in the battle system like what happened with ToD:R?

Nice question, tough one too. Apart from the release of ToR i think in the next installment i'd like to see a continuation of one of the previous games, after spending X number of hours with a game and getting used to the setting and the characters sometimes it's good to be able to revisit them and see the story continue, even more so if the original was released a while back.

A ToE sequel - now that could work especially with how they left it in the end do the other characters survive the destruction of Seyfert's(sp?) ring - problems caused by the seperation of the two worlds just stating the obvious i know but stories have been based on less in the past!

Perhaps a second prequel to Phantasia be done following the path of Martel and Mithos - though it could end up too similar to ToS i suppose.

But saying all that, it'd still be good to see a whole new story with a whole new world brought to life, maybe one the can be played from more than one side of the story for a change

Either way as long as they keep making the Tales games i'll keep on getting them, whatever they decide to do.

I wouldn't mind a sequel to a previously made game, like an extension of the story line, but I also wouldn't mind a new game entirely of the series. I suppose I would like a sequel to a previos game, out of sentimentality. I agree with PAL though...As long as they make Tales games, I'll keep getting 'em!

I'll get them when they're available. I guess I didn't realize Symphonia was a Phantasia prequel, although I did recognize several town names plus the Ymir Forest.

It doesn't really matter. It all depends on the execution; FFX-2 was a terrible sequel, whereas Symphonia was such a good prequel I didn't notice it was one. I haven't played FFXII but being in the Tactics universe I'm sure I'll find it interesting. I guess that kind of explains why they went out of their way to restore FFT for PSP...

If the game was done good. Of course I'd like a sequel of it. But new stuff of Tales never cease to amaze me either.
To sum it up, Most of Tales storylines are always good to follow, so even if it's a sequel/prequel or brand new game, I believe it'll be good to play.

Seeing more Stahn Aileron/Dymlos is always a plus in my book. =p
A REMAKE IS FINE TOO.

I wouldn't mind seeing a sequel/prequel to a previously made Tales game. Probably following the same characters (for a sequel) or maybe from another characters point of view. (Like the idea with Mithos and Martel, it'd be awesome to see what really happened during their journey)

However, an all-new Tales game is never too bad in my book.

I really can't choose, both are good enough for me! Haha.

I need the TotA sequel that was rumoured to take place basically 10 minutes after the ending - i've got to have more, so many questions, so much more that can be done - i know it's unlikely to happen but it needs to be done, even if it's not going to be for a few years.

i would rather have a new game.. i mean the few sequels i have seen in the RPG world really havent gotten my interest so I would just say stick with a brand spankin new game.
