I kno Tales of Symphonia is great part of the Tales series, however, I dont have a Gamecube nor Wii and I dont want it for PS2. So are Tales of Legendia or Tales of the Abyss really good? Which is the better of the two? Are they better than Tales of Destiny?
Just want to know some personal thoughts.

I've not played Tales Of Destiny so I can't say if they are better or not, although I have heard from many Tales' fans that ToA is better or at least as good as Destiny.

Tales OF Legendia and Tales Of The Abyss are both excellent games Abyss is the better of the two though, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't get Legendia, Legendia has a nice story and some of the best character development i've seen in any rpg. Abyss for many(that includes me), was the PS2 rpg of the year in 2006 over FF12.

If you have a PSP then I would buy Tales Of Eternia in a heartbeat.

I like Tales of Eternia (Known as Tales of Destiny 2 in the US) It's for PS1. Awesome game. You won't be disappointed.
Tales of the Abyss is also a great game in the series. I haven't finished it yet, but I love it so far.

Tales of the Abyss is the better of the two, tales of legendia is still a good solid game but I would def. go with abyss, and then if you got the cash pick up legendia also

I'm 45 hours into TotA and it's a fantastic game, i can't say for sure as i've not finished it yet but it's rivalling ToS as my favourite game of all time.

TotA is widely accepted as the better of the two PS2 games released so far, partially i think because it follows the format laid out by ToS (more so than Legendia) but with some brilliant new features that add more depth to the game 'Free Roam' alone - always movement in any direction instead of the Linear system followed upto now, is enough in it's self.

Admittedly like the others that have posted thus far i've not played ToD but that was more along the lines of the format presented by Tales of Eternia (agree with Cloudy on this - you have a PSP you HAVE to own this game no questions about it - the best RPG on the system regardless to the fact it's a remake) and even though i absolutely loved that game TotA is better. So whether or not it's better than ToD i'd bet that it is, whether you'll like the game - well there's no question if you liked ToD then you'll enjoy this as well.

And frankly in my book not owning a NGC is not an excuse for not having played ToS, it's reason enough to buy the console just to play this one game alone (they're cheap enough nowadays), but if your into RPG's then there's a couple more games that are a must play if your at all interested.

Thanks everyone for the response, guess Tales of the Abyss it is.
On another note, for those of you who haven't played ToD you guys are missing out, its a little unpolished overall but its got some memorable characters(and swords) Rutee and Leon in particular. Its also got a fairly good story and music. Its biggest problem is that it doesnt feel as complete as some other PS1 early RPGs like Suikoden or FF7

PAL RPGamer: The main thing is I'm really anti-GC, I was not that impressed at all by it. Especially since you can play all the great GC titles on the Wii, so hopefully if I ever find a Wii I'll probably play more GC titles than Wii ones at first.

Yeah it was far from the most impressive system but it had it's moments where it really did stand out ToS, Baten Kaitos, Skies of Arcadia Legends...

Anyway i'll be serious this time round - ToS is a fanatastic game and if you can still get hold of it at a decent price i'd get it regardless of not yet owning a system to play it on yet - i've missed out on so many games because i waited that little bit too long.

as for waiting for a Wii that is theoretically the best idea, but if the supply situation is anywhere as bad in the states as it is over here then that could take some time. Luckily for me most of the big games for it haven't been released yet or in many cases not even a release date so not missing much on that front.

As for ToD i'll be checking it out one day, fingers are crossed for a re-make if not i'll have to resort to other means but i'll wait and see on that - i've got that much to play, TotA and ToL included, it'll be a while till i get round to anything like that.

in my opinion you should get tales of the abyss
Encephalon
Tales of the Abyss is most definitely the superior game, the story is much more compelling and the gameplay more addictive than Legendia. Symphonia is the best of the series however in my opinion so if you can pick up a Gamecube or Wii for cheap in the future I think it's worth the investment.
Hoodman
Well I got a Wii now so I think I shall check out ToS pretty soon now

Tales of the Abyss, enough said.

Haven't played TotA, but agree it do look really good, but you won't regret buying ToL, as cloudycat said

I agree completely!!!

I'm thinking you should try to get your hands on every tales game released in North America because they're all pretty good. But if id have to pick only a couple I'd definitely go with Tales of Symphonia and Tales of the Abyss, both great games ^^
