I guess I really can't say which is better as I have really not played much of the second one. I did love the first game, and I have watched a friend play the second one for a while and it seemed to not be lacking anything. I'm kind of predicting this poll to be somewhat onesided as I think that most people will choose the second one.


EDIT: Well I guess the above poll shows that I don't know how to make polls on the new board, so I guess just write which one you like better and why, or maybe a mod could fix that for me. Either way would seem to work.

2nd one definitely. THe plot was way more intricate, and the characters were 10000 times better. Way more action, albeit much cornier, but I definitely think is better. Better worlds, better action, character design was great, and like i just mentioned, the plotline had SO many more twists, catches, and interesting points. That's definitely what made it better.

Though sadly I can't answer you're question because I have yet to play KH2... I'm waiting for it to either drop in price or for the Final mix to come out.

I preferred the first game over the second one, really.

Sure it had it's share of flaws in controls and camera, but I had a lot more fun playing that game. The Disney worlds were much more enjoyable and had more of a purpose than in the second game where they felt more like they were thrown together and almost a drag to go through. Same goes for all of the extra characters that showed up. They seemed to be thrown in there just for some not-so-indirectly pimping, I guess. (What the heck was the purpose of those Gullwings!?)

Despite how 2 had a darker tone to the story, I much rather preferred the simpler take that we had before it was completely thrown out of proportion with everything else. Like with Ansem and such. x.x;

Maybe my views are messed up to the core, but I thought Kingdom Hearts 1 was much better in terms of story and such. Kingdom Hearts 2 just didn't really satisfy me as much as I expected it would, it almost felt like a completely different game at some points.

Deff'ly first over second.

In all honesty I disliked the second as compared to the first, and its also creepy as to how the second generated so much........errr.....creepy things hahaha. The storyline was a lot more complex, but complex doesn't always = better. It seemed very over-the-top, the worlds seemed smaller, and the interaction with it all seemed more restricted than it was in the first. It was also EXTREMELY corny, and also a bit odd to see the cast go through puberty in like, a year.

The thing I liked a lot about the first has the High Jump and Dolphin Kick and the Float thinggggg. And I prefer to get those skills without having to take the extra time to level up those forms.

KH2 IMO is definitely better. Storyline was much darker which is what I liked a lot, and it was more complex, and in this case, i thought it was better. They took a concept from KH1, and totally exposed it as almost a fraud and was like WOAH wait a minute, this is how things really work. And the Organization, Roxas, Namine, Memories, etc etc were all great points to KH2.

The second one, I never finished the first one because I didn't like it all too much. Mainly because the Drive forms, but the disney worlds were still annoying.

I saw my older sister play the second, but I like the first one better personally. Maybe it's because that's the only one I've played as of yet, but even then, I think it was better than the second one. I agree with Alazuli though. The first one seemed to have the Disney worlds better put together than the second...The second one just seemed...lacking I guess.

I choose 2. I thought both games were great, but 2 had so much more to do, and there were some nice challenges in regards to things like the new and improved Septhiroth and Hades paradox cup.

well seeing as how i really disliked the 2nd one, I am going to say the first kingdom hearts was better. KH II just seemed boring, dull, slow and everything else like that. Overall I think its a bad series but that first one had that initial appeal of the whole disney worlds and characters, but once that wore off and the 2nd one came out, it was really just a subpar set of games.

I'm only up to the pirates level on KH2 and so far the battle system is a lot more fun although magic seems almost irrelevant... and I'm not very keen on how MP works. Aside from that... the battle system seems to be far more dynamic thanks to reaction commands... I agree about the Disney aspect... the Disney worlds aren't done as well as in the first game and it has a very different feel to it. The story outside the Disney aspect is just so much better... I'm really interested in between Disney world stories.

Still I've got a long way to go until I can really judge KH2 fully...

Magic didn't do much in the first game either, Thundaga and the Tinkerbell summon were the only one's I found useful.

I didn't mind KH2 MP much either, though the cure spells annoyed me. Then again I didn't use much magic, though Reflectga was mega useful to me. It made Septhiroth practically nothing really, the fool knocked himself out.

I think 2 is better than 1, mainly for its storyline and game-play I loved the new features included in the 2nd installment also the new worlds and the improved old ones.

Kingdom Hearts 2 has my heart. The first one was really hard for me and I really don't like difficult games...I tend to get frustrated easily when I have to do that same thing about a million times or something like that Plus I'm a sucker for sequels. There is nothing I love more then seeing the same characters reunited for another adventure. I liked how they added to the cast and I liked the storyline better. I like the more complex things (I tend to write that way too...) and it really added that extra kick to the game. Also I like games where you can like jam the X button of whatever the whole time and beat the monster instead of having to do the multi button combos to win all the time. (My role in Halo was the one sitting there shooting everything as my sister lead the way to where we needed to go =P)

Plus I loved the Disney worlds I thought it was great that POTC was in this game and it was funny that Tron was in the game. That was very WTF for me. I have never seen Tron because I heard it sucked but it was fun having to do that race that has been spoofed so many times. I just thought it was fun to play a role in the movies that you grew up with even though most people seem to hate it. =/

I enjoyed every world in KHI, but hated Tron World in KHII.

I also enjoyed the fact that you can play Sephiroth. It seemed more epic in KHII.
