Full Version: Kingdom Hearts with Nintendo characters?

What would you think of that? Having Link and Hyrule instead of Jack Sparrow and the PotC world?
Nintendo have a lot of colorful characters and different worlds in their universe. Captain N and the Mother Brain, Mushroom Kingdom, and the list goes on (obviously)

I think it would be interesting if they made this. But I don't know if it should have Sora and co. in it though because his journey seems kind of done, and he'd have to have new sidekicks besides Donald and Goofy if Disney was left out.

I mean it's not a bad idea, but I'm still kinda stuck on the hope that KH would become its own RPG and not have to go through other game or movies' worlds, that it has more of its own worlds and characters. There's more than enough characters from Nintendo, but it might also be kinda awkward to see their character design together. Like, can you imagine Mario from Mario 64 placed in the Kingdom Hearts gameplay haha.
Ragnarok
I think it would be a good idea, and would be something I would want to play, but I don't really see it happening. Obviously there are a great deal of some great Nintendo worlds and things like that, and I definatly would like it better then Square and Disney together in an Rpg, but they've made so much sucess already, so even if they got this idea, they would probably keep milking the same idea again for KH3.
Athrun
Well there's no reason why they can't have a KH3 for PS3, and a KH for Wii, taking a different path.
Look at the Megaman series for example. It's had different main characters and even different worlds in it's many games. I'm not suggesting that they overdo it though like Capcom have with some of the Megaman series outside of X, but I think it would seem like a nice idea to see a Nintendo themed game on Wii.

Well, I would deffinately buy it if it had nintendo characters instead of disney. I think it would probably be a whole lot more fun too.

Yeah, me too. I see Mario looking more badass with a keyblade than Mickey. I'm sorry but no matter what they do...Mickey Mouse is Mickey Mouse. I don't know, it seems kind of...well lame, to me.

But to stray from getting stabbed with pitchforks from KH fans...Nintendo characters would be really cool in there as well. I think I would get a KH game if it had Snake from MGS in there. They got him on PS2 and the new Smash Brothers game, why not KH?

I couldn't say if I'd like the idea unless I'd get a chance to play it. However, I wouldn't doubt that Square could pull it off. Look at Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. Personally, I thought they did a great job with that, even though it's "just Mario." Some changes in character designs and such would be more than likely, but in the end, I'm pretty confident that Square could combine the two and do a good job with it.

The idea sounds interesting, but when you think about it, Disney practically makes Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts. I mean, if they tried to make another game with realistic characters, and added in Nintendo Characters in stead, then, it would be a whole nother game on its own.

You know?

Well the next Kingdom Hearts won't even go by the name "Kingdom Hearts" so it's possible they're going to take somewhat of a new route with the series either way. But Disney will still be in it of course. (Mickey is seen in the new new ending.)
Reks
Wait, are you serious? they're getting rid of the name, 'Kingdom Hearts'?! That is weird!

do you know why they're doing that?
Athrun
No idea, but that's what Nomura said in an interview. It may still have one of the words "Kingdom" or "Hearts" in it though. My guess is that it will, or people would think it's an entierly different series, when it clearly isn't if you go by the new special ending movie. You can find it on youtube if you haven't seen it.

Alright, I'll do that.

Although, I probably won't play it if Goofy and Donald aren't in it, because they're the coolest party members I have ever had in any video game. lol.

QFE. Speechless. And no comment.

Hey! Goofy was awesome with that sheild of his, and Donald kicked ass with his staff!

They were great party members!
Athrun
I thought they were good partners too. All three of them acted the same way, so they fit together really nice.

I still can't believe that they're taking out kingdom or hearts out of the title... And yes, they were great partners together. pretty kick ass if you ask me. happy.gif

Since a fair chunk of the characters in Kingdom Hearts are in fact already existing characters in other stuff, I would be interested in seeing this come to bloom. However, I don't see it happening, because as someone said earlier, Disney kind of makes Kingdom Hearts what it is...

i really dont like to be negative but that does not sound like a good idea at all to me. I just cant see that many nintendo characters that I would really want to see in a KH's game. Yes I do agree that the appeal of all the disney people in the first one to me lost its appeal in the 2nd one, I still dont see characters from nintendo games making that any better.

without the disney characters and the disney world, Kingdom Hearts to me is just an average RPG, nothing special. Playing the game in the worlds that you grew up seeing in the cartoons is what made the game what it is, so taking it out would be something I dont see going down, as it was really the one selling point for the game, in my view
Cless
I'm not sure about this, SquareEnix don't own the franchise. PotC is still Disney's, Zelda and other Nintendo titles surely aren't.

I could be wrong.
True Rune
Well, I wouldn't mind, but if it were to remain.. idc who the PT members are, though I have warmed up to Donald and Goofy(<3'd em in the intro)

I think it's a pretty good idea. We've had two games of Disney now and seen a lot of the characters, but a switch like that would give tons of new characters to meet and worlds to explore, definately an interesting thought.
Milady
hm...I liked the disney in the game...I didn't think I was going to like it at first, but after actually playing it and giving it a chance, all of the disney wasn't that bad. and considering I grew up with all of those stories and worlds and characters, it was really like a visit to the past. having nintendo characters and worlds in it would be fun, I don't really know if I would like it or not, I would have to try it first. it's definately a possibility though.
Link...
i think its a realy god idea but the origanal KH1+2 are good with disney!!
crimson fate
i think its a good idie maybe thay should mix up disney and nintendo that would be cool laugh.gif
Demonwing
I can imagine in Nintendo Hearts 2, in every world you revisit

"Sora! Mario! Link!"
