Announced it will be a strategy RPG. (So much for an action shooter) It will be released in Japan sometime this summer. But that is all the news that has been announced so...=(..But I don't have a PSP anyway.
Athrun
Here are two scans.

The girl on the top left in rhe first scan is named Clarissa. The black haired guy at the bottom right is named Levin. (I think.)
I can't really make out what the other names are supposed to be, and some of the letters are blocked by other text.

Yep. RpgFan just announced the same thing, early this morning. (Hasn't had access until now to post it)

RpgFan also noted that there are supposed to be 20+ job classes. The one thing i have to say is...I'm not sure if I love Wild ARMs enough to go buy a PSP for it...Not a big handheld guy.

If you're a big enough RPG fan, then you'll buy a PSP.

I'll be getting this game once it's released without a doubt. I thought they weren't bringing it here, but glad what I thought wasn't correct.

New information. I got one of the XSeed Emails with this.

QUOTE
The once vibrant world of Filgaia is slowly dying, a result of some cataclysmic event lost in the dim, misty reaches of the past. The few pathetic remnants of once mighty nations are caught up in an endless cycle of war, fighting over Filgaia's ever-dwindling natural resources. Amidst the carnage and slow decay, there is one kingdom that has until recently managed to avoid the chaos and suffering plaguing its neighbors; the kingdom of Elesius.

However, the kingdom is slowly descending into anarchy with the king inflicted with a mysterious illness that has kept him bed-ridden, intensifying the future uncertainty as the heir-apparent disappeared a year earlier and is presumed dead. An opportunistic senate has formed its own police force and is gradually usurping power from the royal family.

It is against this backdrop of political intrigue and social decay that the main character Clarissa Arwin, accompanied by her half-brother and protector, Felius, enter Elesius hot on the trail of Rupert Dandridge, the man who murdered her mother. What started out as a personal vendetta soon turns into an epic battle to not only keep a kingdom from falling, but to save the world of Filgaia from being turned into an uninhabitable wasteland.

Innovative hex-based battle grid system allows more tactical positioning options, such as Formation Arts and Combination Arts, as opposed to the traditional square-based battle grid.

One of the deepest strategy games on the PSP system with over 60 stages containing a wide array of mission objectives, as well as numerous optional battles.

Almost endless party customization with over 20 unique job classes to choose from such as Berserker, Elementalist, Grappler, Geomancer and Sacred Slayer.

Extensive material creation options to create more powerful weapons, spell books and armor by combining rare materials obtained by sending out hired mercenaries to scavenge throughout the world of Filgaia.

US-exclusive inclusion of a Music Library containing 20 select tracks from the game accessible any time from the game menu.

This can also be found here: XSeed News.

A PSP isn't fully my budget right now though...we'll see. I hav a while as a safety buffer. (Right now I'm just chillin with the Wii(almost said my Wii) and some computer FPS's.

One thing that I am liking, from the screenshots, is the turn order being actively shown. (While in many others you have to go to a different meny or select the char). The hex system, rather than square will also add some danger. Since you can now be attacked from 6 possible places rather than 4. At least just melee.
Sigs Minock
since i'm getting a PSP for Christmas (my mom got one for my brother-in-law because he was going to Afghanistan), i'll definitely get this when i can... as for the games-

Yepp, LOADS of good games either coming or already on the PSP in terms of RPGs:

FF7 Crisis Core (couldn't care less.)
Final Fantasy Tactics: Lions War (couldn't get into the original, why should i bother?)
Wild Arms XF
Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness (Should i sell my original PS2 version, in favor of the PSP version?)
God of War: Chains of Olympus
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops (couldn't care less.)
Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep (couldn't care less.)
etc.

Awesome. I didn't even know abou tthis game til Sigs pointed it out elsewhere. Looks really good. Which, frankly suprises me after WA4. This is a totally different game though, and for a strat-rpg game, the hex system looks really good. With my new found access to a psp, I'm eager to play a whole bunch of games, and if this comes to the uk, there's a good chance I'll check it out.
The Evil Dead
I guess all the more reason to pick up a PSP before I go to Vegas at the end of the month. Granted it won't be out, but there's plenty of other RPG's to play through now.

The slim and the price is too much to resist. =/ That and think of all the RPG's I can buy that I'd never play.
Mushroom
The fact that the chick looks very like Nina from BoF ummm IV era I think, only enhances this game x 10.
Eva
Nice update, Bomb.

I like the turn order being displayed on the side during battle. That's just like Phantom Brave. The game itself look like a typical Strategy RPG, which I like since I never get tired of a old fashion Strategy RPG game.

Wild Arms: Crossfire Official Site

XSeedGames has it up and running. Nice little bits of information. Hope you enjoy it.
Nash
Hmm, hex-based sRPG. Not many games have those, and from my little experience, they've been good to me in Brigandine and Berwick Saga.

I'm looking forward to this. I just hope it's a bit more character-driven as opposed to waves of generics like in FFT or Disgaea.

There are a lotta story characters, yep.

Edit: Though, in FFT, it's pretty easy to fill up almost your entire roster with story characters as well, so I'm not sure what your beef is with that game in that regard....
Nash
Wrt FFT, I prefer Fire Emblem where you don't get a single generic on your team. Everyone has some kind of specific name and backstory, no matter how underdeveloped.

Crossfire is like that, I hope?

There is now a trailer on there of Crossfire in action.
I like the grappling hook. Has the ability to pull and be pulled.
The Evil Dead
I'm not HUGE WA fan ( I've played the first 3, only sorta enjoyed 3 ) but everything I've seen on this looks golden. Plus I can't argue with yet another RPG to add to my PSP library, which I prefer to call my NIS machine. I keep seeing more and more about this game and the more it has my attention.

I think this will win me over to the side of WA... Or maybe 4 or 5 will. Own 'em but haven't played them.

Since I'm lazy... What's the release date? =x

WA4 sucked... WA5 has pretty good. anywho, XF is due out next week, March 11th. tongue.gif
The Evil Dead
Good timing. I get paid on Friday.

Thanks Sigs. smile.gif
Mushroom
Check out some new screenshots for this the other day, it looks really awesome. I can always welcome a new S-RPG, and if its better than my last WA purchase ( 4 >> so that won't be hard), I'll be muchos pleased.
Sigs Minock
i picked it up and so far it pretty good. several challenges requires you to constantly change your classes [like in one mission, you need an Excavator to find a lost key (Excavators have a 'search' ability)- and you only have Clarissa and Levin on your party.]

only [minor] drawback to some classes is that several of their skills aren't usable after they move. [one class has an ability that let's others use abilities after they move.]
another slightly annoying thing is that you have to reequip your party everytime the leave the party and come back.

the voice acting during the scenes are a little forced, but they'll do.
Sigs Minock
alrighty... big gripe #1: you can only deploy 6 characters during most battles, with five main title characters (Clarissa, Felius, Labyrithia, Levin, and Ragnar... with Tony)- you'll have to multi-class all of'em.
i hope this changes eventually... [and i'm still in the first 'chapter']

okay, yeah- the whole "six max party" thing is getting old... especially when you're fighting a big group, deplete your MP, you VP is running low, and you've used up your items to keep alive- then reinforcements arrive! (which is what is happening at the beginning of chapter 2)
argh!!! non-story battles net very low Exp and CP (class points)... so, grinding is going to be a big pain...

best thing i can do is send out search parties (to gather synthesis items) while i grind to get better weapons/armor.
Mushroom
Anyone got any idea when this is out in the UK? I'm pretty amped for it, which is the firs ttime in a looong time I#ve been amped for a WildARMs game.

On a very random but interesting nonetheless side note, rpgamer has a copy of the game up for grabs:

http://www.rpgamer.com/contests/apr08/waxf.html

I'm sue someone here could get it.
LagunaWannabe
Hahah too bad I already got it. It's not bad so far, it's just unfortunate it came otu the same time I got FFT: Lions War and Crisis Core, which take playing precedence haha
Distorted_Reality
I beat this one about a month ago. I've got to say, it blew WA4 and WA5 out of the water, plot and character-wise. I generally hate SRPGs, but the battle system was pretty decent. Best WA game since 3.
