Plenty of outstanding battles in this great game. I'll list my favorites (spoilers included); comment, discuss, add your own, etc.

Bart (supported by Margie) versus Ramsus (supported by Miang). I liked this battle, I always use that item, which you gain shortly before, to increase the attack power (Samson's Hair, I think it is).

Vanderkaum messing around with his brute-force-approach battle tank. Not that special, but I liked the battle nonetheless.

Grahf on foot versus your Gears. The battle is easy, but the concept of a guy - on foot - taking on Gears with ease is awesome. =p

Id versus the others. I found this battle fairly hard, and I've often lost this one. It's also the first time Id's character portrait pops up, along with his "name".

Father Stone, I enjoyed finishing off this twisted sicko. 'nuff said.

Shakhan... as a villain, I liked him. So, the showdown with him is among my favorites. I also find this battle quite hard, even though it starts out easy.

Grahf and the "Executioner"... *cough*, we know who you are. It's actually the only time she participates directly in battle, which makes it all the more interesting.

Miang... she's pretty darn hard, and the fact that Ramsus uses that lovely 1 HP attack (as seen in the screenshot), makes it even harder. Because you're thrown right into the next battle after Ramsus goes down (again).

The final boss fight. Not too hard; it's destroying the 4 orbs that's hardest. Still, not bad for a final fight (though the Urobolus looks cooler ;p ). Edit: I've added the Urobolus; the fight is very easy, but Miang just looks cool like this.

The Bart/Ramsus battle is one of my favourites as well. I dont particularly like Bart, he often came out like stupid and intrepid and it pissed me off whenever he went off to do some dumb crap and gets himself and/or the rest of the crew in trouble because of it. However, I really like that Ramsus battle, I think its because it introduces you to light strategy which will be extremely useful in the rest of the game. Also I like it because Bart yells "jerk" at Ramsus and since the game has practically no voice clips at all outside of FMV i was genuinely surprised when i heard it. I think I even considered resetting and getting to Ramsus again when I first heard it.

I also liked the Redrum fight. It was a fairly challenging fight and you felt you were killing something that needed killing. But you find out he is actually that dude that got lost in the sewers with a family and you think you killed it even if he wasnt the same at all.

Another fight i liked is the one against Hammer. When Hammer betrays you, you want to destroy the bastard in any way you can. When you fight him you think "its payback bitch". When you beat him, he explains his reasons and I actually felt sorry for the dude. I really did.

I think thats why Xenogears is my favourite game of all time, it managed to make me feel attached to everything. I felt the scenes like I was right there, I connected to the characters, the world, everything.

Anyway, finally the Id fight. Man that was hard the first couple times. He caught me off guard and it took me a couple tries until i could beat him. And when I did beat him I felt like i inherited the world, i felt so badass and untamed. Then moved on.

I have some other favorites it seems. =p

I like the first Id battle. "Are you strong?" Not that you could do much in the battle, but I liked it non the less.

And the night raid on the city from the sky that you have to stop with Weltall is another favorite.

Also I like the first battle (I think) on Disc 2 against Ramsus, because you just got "System Id" on your Gear, and that was the first time using it.

Grahf Gear-less against our Gears is one of the battles listed above that I liked though. Shoed how powerful he was. And also fighting against Id for the first time.

Grahf and the "Executioner" was also good, but my Citan God-modded him. And the final battle in the game was also great. Especially the music.
Servant Saber
I'm pretty much in agreement with the above, with one addition.

The fight against Alpha Weltall, near the very end of the game. And not the one that's easily won, either.
I'm talking about the one where Bart is required to spam Wild Smile or you eat a 12,000+ damage combo chain.
Beating him nets you the best armor in the game. I loved this fight just because it was hard. Furthermore, it was hard.

That battle can actually be won...? That's something I didn't know yet, I'll have to give it a try soon. Edit: Done, and I got the Slayer Robe. But it's not Gear armor, so it's kinda pointless (there aren't any important battles on foot past that point, as far as I know).

I should have payed more attention to Bart's Wild Smile skill, it seems.
Hoodman
Ramsus and Miang in Bledavik is a nice fun fight.

Id is pretty hard, but I find Shakhan still one of the hardest.

I always liked the fights against Elly's team and those guys in their gears.

Anytime you fight Miang it's hard, that Bi*** is crazy.

Redrum and fights against Wels, later Bishop Stone were all freaky battles.

I loved any fight where Grahf would do his "Doth thou desire power" thing

This game totally rocked. I'm actually going through it once more and playing it again! The combo system was unique but the gear system truly hit it out of the ball park.

Great game and awesome memories you captured via the pictures.

Did I mention that the music to the game was awesome? smile.gif
