Unfortunately there's just no information about at the moment other than sheer speculation.

I thought Konami said it was going to be for PS3, because I remember Konami was looking for new people at the Konami school to help with making shadows and shades on the next gen engines.
I could be very wrong though, but on the other hand by the time this game is finished I doubt that it will be PS2.

more than likely a ps3 launch as PES said, too far away to still be a ps2 launch

it's okay, hopefully by the time it comes out, the platform will cost less. And i'm gonna buy it anyways cause of Final Fantasy XIII, and im sure KH3 will be on it as well. It'll also be the future of Sony, so might as well buy into it

i was already gonna purchase a ps3 for the new final fantasy games but suiko 6 would def. seal the deal and get me a ps3, its just too good of series to miss..

Most likely for the PS3 So far no news has been posted. My guess give or take within the next two years we'll see another Suikoden game.

My Girlfriend say thanks alot, she really looking forward to this game.. Please post when the release date comes. Im wondering if anyone of you have any idea what other games she might like since she enjoyes Suiloden V so much... She has the final fantasy games. She dont like FF12 for some reason, and Enchanted arms wasnt really her taste... It has to be something inbetween FF x-2 and Suikoden 6. Thanks Once again all your help so far

If she likes Suikoden V then she might want to try Suikoden I and II, considered to be the best in the series by the fans, along with Suikoden V.
I do have to say that these games are incredibly hard to get and ebay has the users going mad about these games often in ending up to 150 dollars or above.
Though you might be lucky.

Also, Suikoden I and II are for the PSX and the graphics are therefore still sprited, so if your girlfriend likes her graphics, I don't know if she likes these games or not.
I do advise her to try and get a hold of these games, because they are very good and you didn't really say if she had played these games before.

Awhile ago, there was a little scare because Konami announced that they had yielded the production of five or so RPG series. They gave out the name of two, but left three TBA. While I haven't heard of any updates on the situation, I am certain if the series was to be cancelled it would be rather palpable because of all the fan sites and what not.
That being said it's safe to assume that Suikoden VI will be coming out in the near future. It is one of Konami's longest living franchises after all.

Konami announced Suikoden VI quite some time ago, so you do not have to worry about that.
They officially have announced it.

ah, I'm glad this is coming out....not happy about having to buy a playstation 3, but I'll get one eventually anyways. I hope more information will be released on this soon

I never knew Konami Officially announced Suikoden VI. What I recall is they simply made some quick talk about it on a presscon on the ongoing project of VI.

FF 13 and Suiko 6 I might have to get a PS3. God I so dont want to though.

It's not even for certain that Suikoden VI will be for the PS3. Probably it might jump ship to another next-gen system. Quite frankly I'm guessing it could either on the PS3 and the 360, and either way I will be spending a butt load of money on a new TV, the console, and the game .

YEah im ganna wait and c which to get as atm im content with my PS2 as i just discovered the FF series however Suikoden my first true RPG love would certainly make me buy either 360 or PS3

Bwahaha, yeah you can really tell a game's worth by looking some videos on Youtube.
That is just the most retarded comment made in this section, especially because it is directed to the fans of Suikoden and 70% considers Suikoden I and II to be the best.

On another note though Suikoden 1 and 2 together make a package of about $150 or more, it is by far one of the most expensive RPGs old or new. I was so lucky, I got Suikoden 2 for $15 cause it was on sale and I thought the game looked interesting, oooo I loved it so much, but haha I had no idea how rare it would become. I got suiko 1 soon after cause a friend and me were talking about RPGs and we talked about games that werent the same but had the same exact characters: i.e. Suiko 1 to Suiko 2.

Not everyone is a hardcore rpg gamer though guys(or rich for that matter), if he's looking for gift for his girl, on the outside paying £120($237) each for a PS1 game can seem a little nuts.

I recommend you keep an eye out for these games though. Yeah, maybe they don't seem seem worth it by today's standards but you'll quickly realise why everyone loves them once you start playing, especially Suikoden II, its an absolute gem and one of the best rpgs ever made. I think you'll also be surprised how visually appealing they are, the second obviously looks the best of two but stylistically they are quite pretty and there is alot to enjoy there. Like I said keep an eye out on Ebay or your local gamestores in the preowned departments you may just get lucky. Or there are other methods of getting these games which I won't say out loud on the forums, 'by hook or crook' either way it'll be worth it.

Its a shame Konami never released suikoden 1 and 2 for the PSP in the West like they did in Japan, I feel that was missed opportunity, especially when you consider how sought after they are over here.

I just wish more info was released on Suik 6. Because right no there's NOTHING. I mean honestly, Ilove the fact that they take their time, but at LEAST release SOME info. Main characters, settings, SOMETHING

Youtube can be great and a curse at the same time. But judging a game based off videos on Youtube is just stupid and I assumed you knew this as well.
Most people look at reviews or blogs or anything of the kind and see what is written about it.
At least that is what I do, I look at what other people think about it, considering 70% of the fans prefer these two games above all the others in the series, you could think about it maybe because it has a reason.

I also never said you should pay the big sums you find on ebay, I would not even do that myself, but I do try to find a cheaper copy.
If she likes Suikoden V, then you can safely assume she will like Suikoden II as well.

Also, there are other ways to entertain your girlfriend than buying games for her. Or do you buy her games so you can play your own games >_o?

I should have said this in my other reply, but if your girlfriend like's Disney and Final Fantasy then you can't go wrong with Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2. Its the only game my wife will play outside of Brain Training, Mario and that Nintendo puppy game I forget its name.

Also if you are capable of playing NTSC(US) games try Suikoden 3, that's also a big favourite and has the more modern 3D graphics you're looking for

"Pesmerga" Well i do plays games, but most Manager, fifa, and nba. But really dont have ime for games, i work most of the time. So just trying to keep her entertaint from when im not home. And yea will look for suikoden 2, for normal price.

"cloudycat" that game looks pretty cool, but looks so weird when a disney caracter comes into the game. Have u played the game? She really gets into the games story, seen her cry, laugh and smile for games. And if lets say Donald Duck walks in, seems that would make it hard to take serious. Bah only 3 games of suikoden that I seem to be able to find on the Danish Game Buying Sites are suikoden 4, Tactics, and suikoden 5. But i will keep looking, might be lucky they come up on auction =)

Yeah, Kingdom Hearts is great, a real family game that everyone can enjoy, including adults (hey i'm 28 years old and I love it lol!) it does have a good story and the mix of Final Fantasy characters along with Disney really does work. It actually has a serious side to it and is definitely enjoyable. Some of the dialogue is aimed at a younger audience but its never insulting or unbearable to adults and is totally forgivable because the game and story has alot of heart. Well, I dislike Kingdom Hearts because I like my games to be more adult.
Not to start a whole arguement about adults can like kiddy things as well, I just do not like Disney anymore.
What I could also recommend you is the Shadow Hearts franchise.

It is an more realistic setting than KH and the characters are more realistic as well. The first two games have quite fanbase and you'll see enough people praise these two games, even here on RPGDreamers.
The best out of these 3 games (so far) is the second one and followed by the first one.
I do not want to spoil you too much, so my advise is to look up on reviews or as you do watch some videos on Youtube.
Be aware of spoilervideos though.

The first game has quite a dark setting and the hero of the game sort of takes the anti-hero role, but she'll love him eventually.
The second game is less dark and inserts a bit more humor in the story which is a perfect combination. Plus both games have a good romantic story and are direct sequals of each other.

heh, if Suikoden VI will be a ps3 game... i'll probably wait. and by the time i buy a Ps3- suikoden 7 may already be out.

That he works for another country, yet he works for Harmonia and is trying to gain a high rank there, while he still aids Luc to further his goals, and he's the descendant of a line of amazing strategists, and although Caesar technically won the war, Albert's goals were fulfilled.

So, this post isn't supposed to be about Albert, but the other country. I'm guessing this will come up sometime in the Suikoden future, and if he's a mole for Harmonia, I'm predicting a large scale war between Harmonia and this unknown country.

Any news on the game? like a trailer or something

Anyway, there is no trailer or official announcement of Suikoden VI yet. Konami did mention it, but never made an official statement about it. So for now all we can do is wait untill Konami does.
