The knights names have been officially confirmed by Nomura himself! He has stated in the Interview that the female Knight's name is indeed "Aqua" and the Knight that looks like Roxas is named "Ven", and also states that their names are also references to Water, Wind, and Earth. Hopefully this information will clear up alot of things. It should also be noted that Sora, Riku, and Kairi also share similar elements.

Sora = Sky as Ven = Wind
Kairi has a similar kanji to Umi which = Sea as Water = Aqua
Riku = Land as Earth = ???

Also Nomura has hinted that there may be some relation between Ven and Roxas, and if they were, then that would have to bring Sora into this as well!

Info taken from KH-vids.net

Okay, so we have two of them. XD
Poor Riku, he's always left out of the loop.

I really like the name Ven. It's kind of cool! But Aqua...I thought I read it wrong, sort of hoping for something better. D8 I guess Nomura has a talent for doing that to his fans.

What's with all these codenames SquareEnix has been using as of late ? Are they really running out of name ideas ?

Never forget, that's what made him so cool. Ven reminds me of Vahn/Vaan, oh wells. Or if we added "t", it'll become Vent, which indeed has something to do with wind. lol

in agreement with ala, Ven sounds really cool, really liking that name but aqua is terrible, they really could have come up with something better than that

Yeah we already kinda assumed these were the names, but I'm more concerned with what improtance they have. I.E. what is it important that their names are parallel to Sora's, Kairi's, and Riku's??

Unless..... Their names have nothing to do with the characters themselves, but rather, the three "chosen ones" or something always represent Wind, Water, and Earth. THat makes a little more sense. Seeing as those are the elements of a world.

Yeah we already kinda assumed these were the names,

Why did you assume those were the names? This is news to me.

Anyway, I think the third knight is named Xehanort. =p I don't like the name Aqua though.

You know? I think they are. XD It would definitely explain a lot of the other name choices like with Zack's surname going in accordance with Cloud's.

I don't see where the assumption of their names could've come from anywhere since they were just recently confirmed. And even with the connection to the Destiny Trio, it wasn't the same case with Roxas and Namine considering their names don't mean wind and water.

All of their names do connect with the character in some semblence or another. Or at least Sora, Riku, and Kairi's do. With their meanings of Sky, Land, and Water (Kairi's name can also mean Separation), it goes hand in hand with how their stories played out, quite a bit.

I'd be a bit more specific on that, but my fangirlness is showing, again. Besides, I don't think anyone really cares what I have to say on that subject, so nevermind!!! 8D

It was something tht was more assumed. The knight that you fight in KH2:FM refers to the two of them when he addresses Sora, and people just kinda guessed, but it was widely assumed across tons of KH3 Rumor and Theory forums. I guess people associated the blue hair with Aqua and thought it made sense, and then we already knew the meanings of their names and how they paralelled Sora's and Kairi's and Riku's. So when we assumed the Roxas looking one was named Ven it made sense because Roxas was part of Sora, and Sora's name had a similar meaning.

It was like a widespread gut feeling haha

Lols that ghettttooo. Those codenames and I don't know, it sounds kind of passe to be relating it to the four elements. :\ As if they couldn't find another series of names that had a connection, so they got lazy and said "Hey guys. I got an idea. Aqua and Wind. It's unbeatably common. Let's do it."

Oh wells, whatever happens in the news, happens. :D Hope to hear more through the gossip-threads of videogaming.

Nahh I like the idea of the four elements. Cause it's not actually mentioned in the game. It's not as if Sora is the God of wind and his name means Sky or something like that, it's just that the meanings behind their names are all similar.

Like, I don't know how many other things you could do it with.. Maybe like, emtotions. Like the latin word for Hate or the Greek word for love or something... but elements of the world are like, symbolic I guess.

I like the name Ven quite a bit, though Aqua not so much, probably would have been better off naming her after fire or something. Though just like Square, always naming at least one character after an element.
Kaze
I've always loved the name Aqua. Whenever I create a name for a girl character, she's usually named Aqua.
Vex Core
Sounds good to me. So now we wait to see who this Ven is. To tell you the truth, Ven's probably Roxas with a different name since he wasn't called Roxas until he entered into Organization XIII, where the naming convention of adding an X came into play. Can't really deny it, anyway.
