About the swimsuits, it says "additional 10-15% damage"

Does that mean I receive additional damage or does it mean that I do more damage to the enemy?
Also if I equip the "Double Power" while having a swimsuit on, will that make me take/deal 20-30% damage instead?

I'm wearing the swimsuits because of the Agl +1 skill which seems very important.
Armaros
It means that you take an additional 10-15% damage. About the "Double Power," I can't say for sure. Wear them anyway. If your characters have enough points into agility, you'll be dodging attacks so often you won't need to worry about the extra damage. I managed to fight the Patriach and not get hit once by any of his attacks with characters that were wearing swimsuits.
Athrun
What else can boost your characters Agility? So far I only found that the swimsuits do it.
Armaros
The Quick ether increases your agility by 25%. Other than that, decent levels helps. As far as equipment goes, I don't remember. I'd have to go find my old save and check, and I don't have a clue where that memory card is at.
Athrun
Well that's okay, if there is something I'll probably see it when I get it.

One thing I'm wondering about is Shion's attacks. It's supposed to hit zone A/B/C but usually I only manage to hit A or B with it, and when C is needed for a zone break her hit fails to hit that zone. (might have happened with B as well, not sure) Why is that?
Mistik
Hurry up and beat eps 2 hiku. Seriously it's been like 2 years

As far as I know, Shion can only do A or B. From my own experience with this, she seems to hit A or B when needed, but she never hits C. That's how I think it works, but it's indeed rather confusing (read: I don't know if that's really how it works).
Athrun
Yeah I will Misty. Im just probably going to skip doing some GS Campaigns.

Btw, what does Charge Clean do? I think it's a E.S. accessory. I forgot to steal it when fighting Wanderkaum's (or whatever his name is) cannon on Miltia.
Xerno
Charge Clean is indeed an ES accessory. If you equip it on an ES, if you use the stock command (guard/defend) it will cure any status effect that you may have. Quite nifty.
Athrun
Is it worth getting you think? I can redo the boss battle. And the accessory that makes Max boost go up to 300, is that worth using? I only have one but I don't feel like using it so far.
Denim
Other things that help dodging is Peace of Mind, which is a locked ability, but with every stock you have, it boosts your evade stat.
Xerno
I've never upped my max boost, so I wouldn't know. As for the accessory, it can be useful but if I recall I didn't use it for any specific (boss) battles or so.
Athrun
Well I guess I might ignore it then if I don't really need it for anything. Any E.S. equipment I definitely shouldn't miss in this game?
Xerno
Auto Recover ("revives" ES with 50% HP when it's taken down, only once of course) and Charge Recover (heals ES when you use the stock command). Those two I'd definitely get, very useful in the optional super boss fight against Mikumari.

Keep this thread alive guys i'll be moving onto the second Xenosaga soon. I am about to depart to Proto Merkabah, although I know I have missed a few things along the way like the robot parts and catching the hackers. I'm just going to spend a bit time levelling up before I move on to it though. I don't mind because it adds a bit replay value for a future playthrough.

By the way Athrun that Xenosaga 3 signature is cool as f*ck.

Try to get Double Buster (its in a Segment Address onboard the Elsa) and extract it's and Commanders Crest's abilities. And focus on upgrading everyones multi-hit long range attacks. X-Buster for Kos-Mos, Rain Blade for Shion, etc.

Thanks, I made it myself. =p

Hiku, steal from Pilum the ... uh. Something Circuit. It increases agility on an ES. You can get two of them if you're really lucky, when you're fighting Pilum on foot, he has a slight chance of dropping it, and when you fight him in ES later on, you can steal from him. It's a great item.
Athrun
Yah I stole the one from the E.S. battle. Seems I didn't get it from the previous battle on Disc 1 though.

But that was on Ormus and now I'm on Old Miltia, though I got off my E.S. units where I last left off.
cloudycat
Right I have just finished the first disc on Xeno 2, and I am enjoying it but I can definitely see why the game has so many complaints, but I actually quite like the game. I love what they did with Old Miltia it really seemed to come alive, and it genuinely felt and looked like you were in a convincing futuristic world. My biggest issue with it I suppose, it isn't keeping me as gripped as the first one and at some points I find myself rushing through it a bit which I generally don't do with rpgs, its still a good game, and it has an interesting battle system, but at the moment I may put episode 2 on a temporary hold and try out Tales Of The Abyss that game has been itching to be played since Christmas lol!

Xerno
Diamond shaped room? I assume you mean Orgulla. I'll quote from an old post:

Well, I equiped all my party with the Ice Veil but if you have the Ether you can use that one also. Basically when she transforms is that she become difficult because in her default mode she doesn't deal too much damage. I used Jr in the party because he has the inverse effect in his attacks; while the others attacks trigger her second transformation Jr attacks return her to the default one.

The problem is when she user her ability to sacrifice HP and increase her Attack and later she uses her boosts to make a devastating combo. What I did is that I defended (Stocked) with most of my characters and attaked usually to build the Boost gaugue. Then after some turns she will suffer a bug in her mode and all her stats drop, in that moment I used my Stocks+Boosts to give her a lot of damage.

Try using characters that have a decent amount of HP. That's why I used Shion instead of MOMO as a healer. Oh.... and Ziggy is the man in this figth, he deals a lot of damage to her with each attack.

To explain a bit more about her mode switching: you've probably noticed how her eyes sometimes turn from green to blue, and her sword changes along with it. Those are her two different "modes". The green one is the easier one (in my opinion), and by attacking her with Jr., you can force her back into this form (it doesn't work that well, though. You mustn't attack her with anyone else at this point, because the others' attacks will just make her eyes flash blue again, and you want to keep them green. I personally don't bother with it, it doesn't seem to work very often).

Although when you've dealt a good amount of damage she starts boosting quite a bit, and I actually found her gun attack several times in a row to be quite devestating. At this point, I let her turn to blue, as she doesn't use the gun attack in her blue-eyed form (of course, she does make use of her more powerful one-character-hit attacks then).

She can be very hard if you're not well prepared, so if you really can't get past her, you might have to level up a bit first.
