i wona play the game but i do not now a thing about it can you guys or girls help me pic the best one out now pleas??
Sigs Minock
Suikoden 5 is your best bet. only about a year old, and it falls back on the traditional gameplay of the first two... then, if you like it, continue with Suikoden III.

and if you want to continue on the series- you can try to get the first two for the PS1. be warned, Suikoden 2 will probably cost you $100.
crimson fate
thanks but we would 2 cost that much????

Because its rare an its sort of a niche title and underground hit. There is quite a demand for the game mostly due to a limited print and no reprints ever. The game didnt make a huge bang when it was released and it developed a cult following, when that happens and until a reprint is issue, most games get expensive. Valkyrie Profile was also among these, dont know how it went down when Lenneth was released on the psp b ut i can bet it didnt go down much as i guess people would still prefer the original.

I havent touched my copy of Suiko 2 since i got it, well i did tried it out, but i just dont have the time yet, i have a huge backlog right now and must finish Odin Sphere to make room for Persona 3. Suposedly Suikoden 2 is one of the top rpg classics ever released.
crimson fate
so what do ou think i should play?
i meen wich part?

Definitely start with Suikoden V, just because it's so readily available and because it JUST edges Suik 3 out in action/characters/graphics/music.

If you like Suik V, go to 3, and like Sigs Minock said, go to either Suik 1 or 2 after that. AVOID Suik 4 at all costs, waste of money, leaves a bad taste of Suikoden in your mouth lol, thats really all the advice we can offer right now.

Suikoden II seems to be the favorite RPG of all time around here, I've yet to play it, but I've read gamescripts and all the character bios on suikosource.net and I have to concur that it's a HELL of an RPG, so if you REALLY wanna save up, don't be shy a bout getting it, but DEFINITELY play Suik V and Suik 3 first.
Dragon Brigade
Follow Sig's advice and start with Suikoden V, it's the newest one out. See if you like it and then from there pick which one you want to play next (if you liked V, that is).

As previously stated Suikoden 5 is going to be your best bet. I may have to pin a topic with this same question as we have 20 topics already in the first 5 pages asking the same thing. Suikoden 5 is going to be closer to the roots of the original playstation Suikodens, plus it's much easier to find. Please remember though, the games are all different and attatching yourself to one is not going to help you as you play the others. Infact, it will hurt your game play, as you are having these expectations from playing the others.

You should start with Suikoden II then Suikoden V, both are superb in my book.

well, from what i've seen the suikoden games are independent of each other, it's like the final fantasy games they all have different stories but they also have some kind of connection to each other (monsters, summons and items) and suikoden has that with the true runes aspect. best of luck on your journey and i hope you find what ur looking for.

Yeah but if it's like final fantasy the items summonns magic whatever stuff you can learn from any one of the FF games but i think i'm gonna go with V i'm getting it for crimson fate anyway so why not try it out my self happy.gif

Start with Suikoden 5 because its fairly cheap and easy to get your hands on. Then if you like that its worth tracking down a copy of Suikoden 2.
