Well when i first saw this rumour on the net i really thought someone was yanking my chain, now i'm not entirely sure, what to think, so i'll let you decide for yourselves.

The information was let 'slip' on this weeks edition of Wii-k in Review over at IGN HERE, now for those of you who want to listen the time code is at 51:50-53:30 the rest the damn thing is babble so i thought i'd be kind and save you having to listen to it. Personally not entirely convinced of the sincerity of this but the ripples from this are already spreading over the net so thought i'd be the one to do it here.

If true we're looking at a sequel in Q3/Q4 of 2008 using the Gamecube engine so nothing fancy graphics wise but hey it's a ToS sequel so i'll take what ever i can get.

If it is indeed a sequel and not a prequel i think we'll be looking at a possible conflict between Sylvarant and Tethe'alla but that's the no brainer guess. Possibly bridging the events of ToS and ToP?

Anyway i'd like to here your thoughts on the validity of this and what you'd expect to/like to see from such a game.
Dragon Brigade
This better not be a lie! Haha...I loved this game and I’d be excited to see a sequel to it. I don’t mind that it’d be on the GameCube, as I don’t even have a Wii. The first time I played Tales of Symphonia was only little over a year ago. I had gotten it right after my eight grade ‘graduation’.

Collette genuinely bothered me in the game, so if there is a new one coming out, I hope she at least gets a different voice actress...No offense to the one they had, but I didn’t really like her...As for what else I’d like to see in the game...Sheena and Zelos. Mainly Sheena, but since Zelos annoyed her we can have him come too xD I would imagine they would keep the same cast though, or mostly the same cast as the first, but yeah. If I think of anything remotely constructive to add for what else I’d like to see, I’ll post it.
PAL RPGamer
Sorry to disappoint DB but i should have made it clearer, the game is going to be for the Wii its just going to be using the Gamecube graphics engine so expect more of the same seen in ToS.

Its looking more likely this is a piece of pre-E3 info dished out to the industry media so fingers crossed for some solid details over the coming week. just hope they stick with the classic Tales formula instead of trying to do something 'gimmicky' as they've done with DQ Swords.

At the moment i'm still skeptical, but that's the pessimist in me talking, yet the part of me that wants this so much to be true is letting me give it the benefit of the doubt, for the time being.
Alazuli
Hahah, I thought this was fake when I read it last night, too.
Kind of reassuring that it's not.

I'm curious about how they're going to pull this off unless they're going to follow Lloyd after the end of the game on his quest to gather all of the Exspheres. Hoping nay on that, sounds ghastly boring.

But whatev's. Sounds pretty nifty, all in all.

Ah, sigh! Well...my sister has a Wii, so maybe when she comes home once every not-so-often-time I can play it >.o Thanks for clarifying for me though xD It’d have come as a bigger shock if it was released and I went out to get it thinking it was for the GameCube...

Gah, There is absolutely no way I'll be buying a Wii, but I will miss this game sad.gif I LOVED the first one, I actually bought a gamecube on the strength of it and MGS twin snakes alone, and I had a hell of a time playing, and have replayed it several times. I'd love to revisit that world, but as I said, no wii for me so gah.
Red_ryaN
That'd be sweet, I don't have a wii my self, but I'm sure I'd figure something out lol!
I loved the first game, I actually just finished playing it a few months ago. Definitely one of my top RPGs

I can't really say I'm "excited" for a 2nd one, I wouldn't really be disappointed if it turned out untrue, but I would want to play it if it did come out

Its definetely true, it isn't a rumuor. There's been screenshots released and stuff:

The map and town pictures should confirm this for you smile.gif

Their all red x's for me Mushroom.

But I would have to disagree with Dragon on the Zelos part. He was funny but he was one of my least favorite characters. I've played the game several times but when having to choose between Zelos and Kratos...come on. I hope Kratos would return in the second one, I know he went away but it would be awesome if he came back. But what's this about ToS and ToP? I thought all of the games took place in different worlds, like how Final Fantasy is set up (until recently >_>).

Anyway, the characters may have had annoying qualities but I very much enjoyed the game, one of the only games I've played and beaten several times where it never gets old. I hope it can live up to the original. With this, Smash Bros., Zelda and a new Resident Evil I may just invest in a Wii. Probably wont come out for like...two years though.
Mushroom
>_< gah, i can see the pics. Here's the link though happy.gif : http://www.rpgamer.com/games/tales/toskor/toskor.html . That has pictures, magazine scans and some artwork.

XD I believe I read everyone BUT Kratos is set to return. Don't know if that means playable but everyone will show up..outside of him XD

Indeed, ToS is a prequel to the only other tales game i've played, ToP ( which i also love). Developers have confirmed this. I'd point out the similarities but what the hey, wikipedia has done a much better job than I could: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tales_of_symp...es_of_Phantasia

Enjoy!

Same with me, at first. However, after a while he just sort of grew on me. I just added him since if Sheena’s going to be in the second game, he’ll probably be with her...I thought Kratos was a good character as well, but from the ending it didn’t look like we’d be seeing him again. Wishful thinking, but...didn’t seem like that would happen. And, according to Shroom’s post it isn’t happening. Oh well...
Exire
Well you either lose one or both. Choose Zelos and Kratos flies away, choose Kratos and I kill the red haired "Idiot Chosen'. But assuming that information is true, then I guess Zelos is coming back after all. I'd much prefer Kratos but I guess not. Seems a little strange with a new hero and heroine, I wonder if the playable characters from the first one will be just be NPC's. I may have to gag if it turns out Lloyd and Collete are the King and Queen of Sylvarant. XD

Thanks for the info Mushroom. Very interesting stuff. The two main characters seem kind of meh-ish but I can be positive. I am curious as to what kinds of problems there may be with the world after it seemed Lloyd and company made things right. It seems even after 4000 years there is still racism against half elves, maybe that will play a part. Hopefully racism in our own world doesn't last for 4000 years.

No problem at all, seems not many folk know about this yet, even though they announced it quite a while ago. Ilike he idea of going back to the ToS world, because often things like racism don't just die out like that. It'll be interesting to see if they use this game as a more direct bridge between ToS and ToP.

Just to point out the obvious, but remember, IF kratos wa returning, i imagine they wouldn announce it wink.gif perhaps we will see resolution on his end.

It’s probably not the best video out there (I also don’t know what the music is, as I had sound off). It shows the in-game graphics somewhere in there (not just the “artsy” stuff) and they don’t seem too bad at all. Just thought I’d post a link up and whatnot. The game is looking really nice, and I’m glad to see that most of the characters from the first game make appearances in this one as well. So yeah, I’m really looking forward to this game, definitely =).

I don’t have any more info on the game, if there is new stuff out that people haven’t already posted, so yeah. Just this video, so hopefully it’s not too bad. >.o

Well it looks like this thread hasn't been updated for a while - what i can remember off of the top of my head is...

The returning characters are playable - pictures of Collette in battle have been confirmed. So its not all catching and using monsters as first feared.
And can be seen in the top right corner of this scan - thanks to the people over at raijinken.net
http://www.raijinken.net/gallery/displayim...&fullsize=1

A new character by the name of Richter Abend has been confirmed - i think he's another swords man, but dont quote me on that.

The appearance of Zelos in the opening confirms the canon ending of ToS, which will explain the absence of a certain character who shall remain nameless.

The world map has been condensed to a simple 'point and click' interface using the Wiimote - this ones kinda old news but thought i'd mention it.

The general storyline has i think been posted on Wiki as follows
QUOTE (Wiki)
Long ago, Sylvarant and Tethe'alla were united as a single world that drew strength from the Great Kharlan Tree. Divine intervention tore them apart, however, and the Tree withered and died. It was eventually left to a boy named Lloyd to restore the world to its true form. At his journey's end, a new Tree was planted to replace the old one and to hold the two worlds together. This was the story of the Journey of Regeneration.
Together once more, the world is now entering a new era. However, its people are still faced with many problems. After the lands became one, maps were rendered useless and the climate went through many vast changes: desert towns became frozen wastelands and lakes dried up into valleys. All of this stems from an overlooked factor in the unification of the worlds: the spirit of the old Kharlan Tree, Ratatosk, still exists somewhere, and its slumber has sent the world into chaos.
However, Ratatosk isn't the only problem: the people of the two worlds are starting to hate each other. The citizens of Tethe'alla look down upon the citizens of Sylvarant due to their inferior technology, and the citizens of Sylvarant fear the citizens of Tethe'alla because of their power. Two years have passed since the worlds were first merged, and the people of Sylvarant have created a vanguard with which to rise against the Church of Martel and the people of Tethe'alla.
One day, the Church of Martel went to war the vanguard, and Sylvarant's city of Palmacosta was caught in the crossfire. Countless innocent people died and Palmacosta was consumed in a terrible fire. This event came to be known as the "Purge of Flames", a bloody massacre led by Lloyd Irving of the Church of Martel

There is more i know but can't think of it right now.

Looks like several from the main cast are in the sequel. But that's not really news I guess, just posting some pictures. Although I don't know if that last ninja girl is from the first game or not.

Yeah I haven't played it. Not more than for an hour or so. In the Tales series I've only played Eternia (Destiny 2 in the US) and Abyss.
Mushroom
She is from the first game Hik happy.gif and if you can acquire it, i highly recomend you play ToS, absolutely spectacular rpg, and I pretty much bought my cube solely for it and twin snakes. Its a really shame I'll be missing out on this sequel, especially since there seems to be alot of returning characters, and a really good plot. Oh wel. Who knows, in a few years i might pull a repeat performance and buy a wii just for it XD I got my GC for £50 2 years ago, I'm sure I can get the Wii for that at some point.

There's a reason why they call the Wii the " Gamecube 1.5 ". Wii users have been and will be eating 'cube titles for awhile.

As Mushroom said you really need to give this one a go, it is a classic. If you find a gap in your gaming calendar anytime soon give this a chance and i doubt you'll be disappointed. Of course i've not played ToS for a while and not since starting TotA so i can't give a direct comparison but in short if you liked one you'll like the other. IIRC ToS is a significantly larger game than TotA (game time of 128 hours compared to abyss' 70+ - though you'll need to take into account my slow pace of gameplay) as the side quests that are available on the first play-through are considerably more extensive.

QUOTE (The Evil Dead)

True, but in the case of ToS that isn't necessarily a bad thing, the graphic style is what appealed to a lot of people and from what i've seen so far there does seem to a slight upgrade wrt facial expressions and the likes, bringing it more into line with TotA - a title i might had that had a lot more issues regarding graphic problems than the cube title ever did.
Mushroom
Indeed. Although TED is right, in this case we're speaking about a game with quite a distinct graphical look. ToS isn't exactly the epitomy of next-gen sure, but its not looking to be it either. It has an awesome look ,and even just little upgrades is a plus imo.

Unfortunately ToA never came here, so I cannot compare the two games >_< ToS is definetely a lost classic though, not nearly enough people played it.
Athrun
Oh TotA never came out on Europe? That sucks. You should import it. The game had probably my favorite cast in any rpg. Or close to it.
I might give ToS a go when I get a Wii, because I don't have a Gamecube. I was going to play it with two other friends before, but we didn't get too far in it.
So who's that ninja girl in the last pic? She looks cool. Reminds me of a character from another game. Not sure which one though..

Unfortunately a direct result of it being released on the cube - IIRC it was released during the height of the nintendo bashing days - and not to mention the lack of media coverage (same went for ToW: RM - released totally under the radar and is now in the bargain bin in GAME only months after release).
Now if ToS had been released for the PS2 I wouldn't have been surprised to see it being a fairly big hit - might even have meant more titles making over here in the UK and EU.
Hopefully ToS:KoR will be able to make it more mainstream with the current success of the Wii - though whether it'll appeal to the majority of Wii owners is another question entirely.

As Athrun said you need to import this - TotA easily gives ToS a run for its money as the best of the Tales of... games. Even if you go the cheap route and get a swap magic boot disc like I did - £15 and a bit of time and you'll be up and your PS2 will be up and running for most US titles, all without voiding your warrenty.

Its a shame as she could have been so much better than she actually was in battles, i've used both Senel and the fighter class out of ToW and their move set and over speed were much better, though of course they lack the summon skills, so suppose you need to take the good with the bad.

But back on topic:
Has anyone seen any news regarding the controls for this game? I can't see it being able to work with the wiimote alone which leaves it down to the classic controller or the gamecube pad and how they'll adjust the ToS controls to accommodate the FR-LMBS of TotA.

This is a good question. The nintendo fan base has evolved and changed considerably due to the anture of the wii - however, the wii is selling in spades in japan, and they love their rpgs, so hopefully it'll get a good reaction over there, leading to similar here. ToS reminds me of Grandia 2 - awesome game, it just wa sin the wrong places at the wrong time to get its fair recognition.

Haha. Ok. This may be a noobish Q, but tis the noe thing that always held me back from doing this, so i'll jsut ask and get the embarassment out of the way. Do I need an NTSC capable tv though? I amm preeetty sure I read an article describin gthe battle controls at least, and it only mentioned what the buttons did, no mention of motion stuff involved. Which is good imo. I know thats the wii's shtick, but its not entirely my thing, and i wouldnt want it putting me off the game.

I've heard both yes and no, which leads me to believe that perhaps some of the more modern chips or swap discs worked their way arround it. But usually you do need an RGB cable. I'm sure your TV supports the RGB cable because it's the same as a scart cable. But if your TV can't handle an NTSC signal then the game might look might be black and white even with that cable, I dunno. =/ Either way, the cable improves the graphics even for PAL games so I always thought it to be a wise investement. The image will look more sharp and less noticably pixelated.
Mushroom
aaaaah. So the black and white thing is based on the cable, and not the tv? XD that might be why i couldnt find anything specific saying if miens supported ntsc or not haha. Hmmm. I'll consider this. Right now, I don't have the money to buy the games that ARE readily available, let alone games that aren't, so my ahnds are full. I will consider it though:) thanks for the answer though.
Athrun
Unless your TV is from like... the early 90's, it's unlikely that your TV can't handle NTSC signals. As long as you have the cable that is, yeah.
And TotA has such an amazing cast of characters, mainly Jade, so you'd love the game I'm sure.

I wonder if Kratos will show though i doubt it, but at least we get Sheena and the rest...also Lloyd is apparently going to be an antagonist in this one. I hope the plot is going to be good but it looks good from whats been said so far.

In any case i hope they don't edit the American version of this one as much as they edited the first TOS taking out the hi-oguis and all, it kind of pissed me off that the characters weren't as balanced as in the Japanese version either.

But i still enjoyed the game a great deal and it's one of my favorite RPGs!..
Mushroom
People keep saying this over and over :S is it so inconceiveable that Kratos will be in it? You honestly cannot think of a viable situation where he could come back? *shakes head* More power to you though, at least you'll be suprised when he appears.

UPDATE 07/01/08

A fair bit of new info today...

QUOTE (RPGFan)
A lot of information on Tales of Symphonia: Ratatosk no Kishi (Knight of Ratatosk) for Wii has been released today, courtesy of Bandai Namco Games. The sequel to 2003's GameCube RPG Tales of Symphonia will employ an enhanced version of the Flex Range Linear Motion Battle system (FR-LMBS) featured in Tales of the Abyss. The battle engine will support up to four players. The development team is also adding eight elements (earth, water, fire, wind, ice, lightning, light and darkness) to the system. In Knight of Ratatosk each location has a certain elemental affinity. Depending on the usage of elemental attacks by both party members and enemies, this local elemental affinity can change over the course of a battle, though. Such an elemental change apparently will have various effects on a battle's progress.
The development team has gone with a traditional control scheme. The Wiimote's motion sensor is used to execute special techniques. Like previous games, Knight of Ratatosk also allows players to pull off those powerful moves directly via shortcuts (instead of having to enter a menu). Using the Wiimote, players can perform a certain movement which will then trigger off the technique. This motion control can be switched off as well, though.

At the end of the battle, players can invite defeated monsters to join their party. However, only monsters with a certain character can be turned into party members. To make things even more complicated, a monster's character will change during battle, depending on the party's equipment or the actions taken by the party. Furthermore, monsters might decline to join the party.

A new character set to appear in the game has also been introduced. 20-year Richter Abend is searching for the Ratatosk Core to achieve a certain objective. After a childhood that saw him being oppressed by others, the young man has become extremely cynical. During his search for the Core, he meets protagonist Emil. While Emil's cowardice and passiveness annoy Richter, he still helps Emil. There seems to be a certain reason for this Richter's kindness, though.

Following the events of Tales of Symphonia, the two worlds had become one. However, as a result of this fusion, the environment has begun to change dramatically. Snow is falling in desert towns and lakes are drying up. The fusion of the worlds however is not the only cause of these problems. Another one is the condition of the powerful spirit Ratatosk. For unknown reasons, he has fallen asleep, resulting in a collapse of the natural balance. Meanwhile, the only thing that unites the people of the two worlds is their animosity toward each other. To protect the oppressed people of Silverland, a resistance group known as Vanguard was formed. As it opposes the Church of Martel, a confrontation between the two camps became inevitable. The Church eventually moved against Vanguard members holding a meeting in Palmacosta. The city was burned to the ground, with many innocent people becoming victims of the purge. The ringleader of this bloody crackdown is said to be Tales of Symphonia's protagonist Lloyd.

Update 07/01/08 Part 2

Heres the link for the original source for this piece - complete with screenshots and more info - translated courtesy of google
GameWatch ToS : KoR article

The area affinities sound interesting - wondering if they're going to act similarly to the FOFs of TotA - should be interesting to see whats done with this and the supposed "special techniques" with the Wiimote.

The details of the monster capture are another point of interest - though i think this is going to be something your going to actually have to play to fully appreciate it.

As i said earlier with the appearance of Zelos in the anime sequences we now know that his particular ending is the "official" one - i very much doubt there is anyway Kratos can be written into it - which might also explain the appearance of this Richter Abend - a replacement of sorts for Kratos. Of course i've been wrong before and anything is possible with these games.
As for the edits - i think you'll find that the Hi-Ougis were additions to the PS2 version of the game and weren't actually removed from ours - though i think Lloyd's Falcons Crest was accessible in the US cube version.
Dragon Brigade
I don’t remember having the Falcons Crest (I have the GameCube version)...Then again, it’s been a while since I’ve played the game, too. Interesting about the monsters, though. I’d tend to agree with you though that it’s probably not something people will appreciate until they’ve played the game...Right now it sounds like an interesting feature, but I don’t quite see myself totally thrilled about the idea.

Sorry should have said that had it been released on the PS2 initially or had we got the PS2 port - which would have been sweet considering the extra Hi-Ougis and the optional Trio boss battle (seriously Kratos, Yuan and Mithos all in one battle!).
But I think this is a prime example of how different the Japanese market can be to that of the rest of the world. As a nation they embraced the cube more than anyone else - as a result ToS sold well and they got the PS2 port - while over here and the states it went pretty much unnoticed - i know the copy i bought had been sitting on the store shelf for a good few months before i picked it up - and it was the only copy they had, and it was a popular store.

In Japan i've no doubt, barring a major disaster, that KoR will do well - but as we know what does well in Japan doesn't always translate to a success here - so the question is how well can it do in the states? Are there enough of the more 'serious' gamers out there with a Wii to make it a success? Will there be enough Wiis about to ensure the people who want this game can actually play it? But we're getting ahead of ourselves - will it even be released? There was an 11 month difference between the japanese and US release of ToS - so i think we'll have a bit of a wait before we find the answer to that question.

And as for Rebirth - well lets face it, its ToR enough said - just keep fingers crossed for the PSP port.

As for the NTSC playback - i hate to be the bearer of bad news but i think its down to the TV, i know thats the case with DVDs as the signal from the player to the TV is in the NTSC format and up to the TV to process it. I think if your TV younger than a few years old though you should be OK as it comes as standard on a lot of TVs in the UK now. As you said its not urgent so maybe you could try and contact the manufacturer and see if they can give you the info.

I doubt you will have used it as it was one of those that needed a few conditions to be met before it could be used - i think you needed to have the material blade equipped and Lloyd's title as Eternal Swordsman and then have your health under a certain level - and then it could be activated by pressing a button combination. There's videos on youtube (as usual) of this and IIRC an english one for Genis as well not to mention all the japanese ones.

I have nothing to disagree with here, it looks as if you have your japanese knowledge done. PErsonally if i had to estimate how it'll do over here? IMO, better than ToS. Simply because, i feel most people who bought ToS will have access to, and buy the new sequel AND a certain amunt of people who are rpg fans who have a wii will buy it too - thats really just based on the odds. SO many more people have a wii than had a GC, its just really the odds that more will have the sequel than had the original. So I think it'll do better, but not insanely better or anything.

Haha, this is going to haunt me now isn't it? I'll have a search on the net an see what i can find out - I genuinely have plans in motion for getting a new tv then, so we'll see, my accessibility may change in the enar future. My budgt for games though....well, we'll see smile.gif

That would explain it then, why I never got it. I suppose I could try after it in my next run-through of the game, but usually when it comes to these things where you need everything done a certain way, I usually don't bother...Unless it's something I really want.

IIRC the reason ToS got a PS2 port it was because it sold so badly in Japan compared to the US.

Seriously? Not heard that one before, but your generally more in the know about the Tales series than I am so i'll defer to you on this one. I was just going off what i'd read and the final sales figures published by Bandai Namco here
SonicX_Zero
Aren't those WW sales figures? Here's a little article I stumbled upon when the PS2 port was released.

QUOTE
Latest instalment in the Tales of... franchise doesn't disappoint

Namco's RPG title Tales of Symphonia has gone back to number one in the Japanese software charts thanks to a release on the PS2, selling some 265,000 copies despite following on the heels of a Cube release last year.

The game has sold around 332,000 units on the Cube since its launch (and has also performed well in the USA, where it launched a few weeks ago ahead of a European launch later this year), so sales on the PS2 boost it past the half million mark in total.
.....
Full Article Here

I can't say for certain if the 332k figure for the cube is for Japan only because if it is then that figure is pitiful considering that at the time of the PS2 release the GC version has already been out for more than a year.

Also based on RPGFan's article that 486k for the PS2 ToS is all Japan total sales while 500k+ of the GC's 953k figure can attributed to US sales (didn't ToS reached somewhat a greatest hit status in the US?). And not to mention EU's sales are also included in their WW figures as well. o.o
PAL RPGamer
Yes sorry those figures are WW - miss read the opening paragraph about the format, unfortunately i can't find the original source so i can't be 100% certain. But Wiki do state that ToS has sold over 1.2million worldwide However i have found some more sales figures from back in 2005 here, unfortunately they dont show the Japanese gamecube sales figures so can't get a full comparison.
Though its not completely accurate by taking these figures it works out ToS(GC) sold ~490,000 in japan and ~470,000 else where (285,00 US, 184,000 EU).

Note all figures given from now on are made on the assumption that the figures of the RPGfan article are worldwide sales figures.

However even if these are the Japanese sales - looking at the comparative market share of Japan and the US/EU (87%, 8% and 3% respectively), and even taking into account the greater number of titles released in Japan, the total number of ToS sales in the other regions seems to be higher - relatively speaking, which would concur with your original statement.

Now this could be because of a number of factors for this, RPG starved cuber owners, the relatively few Tales of... games we see in the west (as you'll note the ToR figures in the link i've included in this post -direct competition for the PS2 release of ToS affecting japanese sales?), etc etc.

But as you'll note when you compare the WW sales and Japanese sales of TotA and ToL and hence work out the the sales in the US, figures here

If you look at the figures of TotA ~440,000 in japan (as of 2005) and hence around 294,000 in the states the sales figures of the US do fairly well, (acutally making an improvement on Symphonia's figures) considering the differences in the market - admitted ToL did poorly alround - it does seem to be a bit of a trend forming.

Now there was a point to this post and if you can find it your a better person than I am.

In short though it would seem that my original statement may have been both right and wrong. I dont think ToS did bad in Japan, and personally i cant see them releasing a port of a title that has previously done poorly - its not good business practice - but i've been wrong and as i said SonicX_Zero is generally more well versed on the series than i am. Where i went wrong was to say that ToS did comparatively poorly in the states, i think the figures are more a result of the lower sales seen with RPGs anywhere outside Japan as most titles do go under the radar (unfortunately FF being the exception to the rule).

Saying that i still think the title would have done better initially if it had been release on the PS2 stateside and stand by my statement that i think there's no doubt that ToS:KoR will do well in Japan while its success in the States may be curtailed somewhat by factors brought about by console choice, availability and even fan reception, there are some supposed Tales fans who are seriously against further installments in the Aselia timeline, inconceivably as that may seem.
Mushroom
Yes, well, of course it performed badly. The gamecube performed badly. I'll agree that the sequel will do much better, for the logic I outlined below. I personally can't comment if it really did do badly since I don't have the console sales for each country, console sales to rpg fans etc etc. Remember guys, you can make numbers say anything. I'm not doubting your facts sonic, I'm just usually doubtful of numbers in general. + it doesn;t make a really difference to me anyway. I'll enjoy a game should it be commercially successful or if it dies in the gutter XD
Mushroom
Bump. New artwork for the game, and there's some familiar faces biggrin.gif:D:D:D

I wish they'd gave Lloyd a new look or something though. Like. A turban. Since he's a religious terrorist now XD
AlliedG
Meh he was just a annoying guy with two swords XD

Would be cool if they did some prologue thingy, to encourage new players to get into the game, like how FF Advent Children had the whole FF7 story explained beforehand.

Update

New Scans from V-Jump courtesy of Abyssal Chronicles.
Doesn't appear to be any new information provided about the game but gives a glimpse at the in-game models of the returning characters. Not much in the way of changes though there does seem to be an overall refinement - for me this is most noticeable for Genis/Raine .
Also included are a few shots from the cutscenes and a couple of screens from the PSP release of ToR
Mushroom
Wow, looks freakin awesome. I noticed the refinement too, particularly the picture of zelos in the little box at the top in the first scan. It looks so much slicker. This looks amazing though, damn the wiihaha. I hardly going to use motion anyway, I demand a port! Or I can at least wish XD Its taunting us with the Tales of Rebirth shots too haha. PSP is region free right? I may import it when if it doesnt make it here.

UPDATE
Yet another set of scans and some new information

QUOTE (Symphonic Heaven)
These scans show off two new characters, Aqua (catgirl) & Tenebrae (black cat), when translated into English. From the early translations, it seems the former follows Richter Abend, while the latter follows Marta Lualdi.

This game just looks better and better. Not the clearest of pictures but still - more new characters - could this mean fewer of the returning characters are not playable - the max number of playable characters so far has been about eight so including the new characters (assuming they are playable too) takes the total to 10.

If your interested some quality scans have also been posted for ToR - now that game is looking nice.
Eva
I thought the appearance of the original cast would change to a degree.

I can't exactly be impressed by images, but I'm rarely not that impressed with images. Not sure if video of the battle system been released yet, but that would interest me. The only interesting aspect of the images would be showing off the characters being introduced in second installment of Symphonia. I do like their appearance up to this point and hope this cast isn't as cliche as the last bunch.
