Here are some signatures ive made recently using the trial version of Photoshop CS3. I havnt used any fancy text or brushes because I dont feel like taking the time to search for any or figure out how to use either because I only have the trial version to begin with. Ive just started messing with Photoshop a week ago, so putting that to consideration, I think ive done pretty well so far. They're all pretty basic and look similar, but go ahead and comment on them how ever you like. Thanks, and enjoy.

I think these look really good, Durandal, especially since you haven't had the Photoshop trial for very long. I think the last one is the best out of the lot; it just seems more attention grabbing to me. I like the first two as well, the colors and images fit well together. The background on the third one is nice, but the image looks kind of...fuzzy? around the edges. They look really nice to me though, good work! =)

those are really good. I REALLY like the last one. I think that's your best one. Then again I'm probably being biased since I like it so much lol

Ive actually just started messing around with Photoshop making signatures last week. Ive usually had other people make them for me.


Ctrl + U brings up a colorize option. You have to actually click "Colorize" which is located in the bottom right corner, and then you can make anything any color you want.

Here are two more that I just created today. Ive been really addicted to Photoshop lately. The signatures are very basic though, so it doesnt take very long to make any of the ones I have created.




The text on this one I couldnt figure out what to do with. Some idea would help me a lot. Ive learned the hard way not to merge my layers so that I can go back and change things, so if anyone could please give me an idea of how to change the text on this one, that would be awesome. Maybe it even needs to be rezided? Anything would help me out. If you like it the way it is, that works too. Thanks.

Downloaded a font and put it together with a very basic grunge signature. I actually didnt find the font that I wanted. I was looking for one that looked a little more similar to the actual Death Note text, but this will do for now I suppose. I think the picture blends a little too much with the background colors, but it isnt that bad I suppose. Tell me what you think.



Here is another Metal Gear signature. It was put together really quick one night last week and I forgot it was on my computer. I like it, but I also think that Snake blends a little too much. Anyways, here you go.

The Army of One signature wasnt done by me. That was actualy created by Uenki a while ago. All of the other ones are mine though. Im assuming the background (the fire looking stuff?) was created by some kind of brush.


The smooth paint strokes in the background were actually taken from an abstract brush picture already created in Photoshop. It's actually not that hard to make.

The Death Note one is awesome... I love how the background blends with Light (Kira for those who forgot his real name) and the colors from the scythe and everything, awesome... 10/10

Today I decided to practice some new stuff. I put a glow around the edge, as well as the main image. I wanted to put some text in the middle of the sig, such as "47", representing his Codename, but I couldnt figure out how I wanted it so I just left that out. I also didnt realize that the glow was cut off at the top of his head and the glow at the bottom where blood was supposed to be until after I uploaded the image to my photobucket.


Here is another experimental signature. I like it a lot, but the outlining of the character is a little choppy because Im assuming the cut out was as well. Other than that, I like this one a lot.


Another Death Note signature because I didnt know what else to do. Very basic, same font as the other one. I put a little shadow on the character, and I think it turned out great.

Yes, I have more. Ive been told to work on the over all flow of the signature, so Ive tried that with a few new signatures that ive put together using a lot of the same effects. A few look really good, and a few dont flow very well at all and disapoint me. Here goes...


Just a random image. I have no idea what this is from. The transparent part that the text was placed on was a complete accident when I was doing some blending of one of the layers.


Full Metal Alchemist. I dont think the text flows too well even though I tried to use the same colors as the electricity.


I like this one a lot. The character is from Trinity Blood, for those of you who do not know.


Just another random picture that I have no clue where it is from.


Ichigo. I like the picture a lot, but I royally !@#$ed the background.


Ishida from bleach. Over all, I think this is the signature that flows the best. I also like it a lot for some reason.


Battlefield. I like this one but I think it's missing something.


I like the background a lot, but Im a bit iffy about the images. Im still struggling with using more than one image in the same signature. I dont like the font too much either. Maybe the colors just need to be changed, I dont know...

Your newest ones aren't bad, my favorite definitely has to be the first one.

Your best by far though are the ones you started this thread with though. People told you there wasn't enough flow to your sigs, but I don't see how these have any more flow to the originals.

Right now I think you're kinda goin thru the same stages I am, people giving you criticism and trying those things, trying things from tutorials, and just messing around, where eventually you'll just make your own feel for your sigs based on your experience, and at the rate you're going, I'd say that's pretty soon.

Im trying. Ive tried a lot of different things. Though the signatures look similar, the Assasin's Creed signature has 6 layers just for the background. I havnt made any signatures that really stand out to me for some reason. Considering I make so many constantly, like you said, Im sure I will finally get my feel. The sad thing is, I still cant download any pre-made brushes off the internet because I dont have the full version of Photoshop to begin with. I guess I should work on that. I really dont feel like paying for any version of PS though.

I have yet another signature which I spent a little time on today. It's a smaller one, 300 x 100. I really like this one a lot. I like the color, I like the way the image turned out, everything. The only thing Im even questioning about this signature is the text because I can never seem to get that right. Other than that, I like to tell myself I did a good job on this one. Tell me what you think!

One thing I've been messing around with lately, because it adds uniformity to a sig (including text), is the concept of textures. Just search online for free downloadable textures, and what they basically are, are images. You save the jpg, open it in Photoshop, duplicate the layer into your sig, and use it as another layer.

Try things like changing the blending modes of it, the opacity, the color tones to fit the color of your sig, brightness and contrast, and etc. I've found that gives a feel to a sig that a brush or fill technique just cannot simulate.

I'm sure somebody on here knows a good texture site (and if they do id love to know it), because so far I've found a couple, but no REALLY GREAT texture sites. So yeah, just an opinion to mess around with. I've been playin with it lately and it's helped significantly in some cases.


That might help solve a little bit of your frusteration with text. Maybe. lol

I absolutely love the Ishida/Vivi sigs. They are awesome.

Yes, another one. I love the text, but I did a #### cut on the "Young Ganster" version of the main character in the film Gangster Number 1. If I like the picture, I have a problem with the text, now that I like the text, I hate the picture. I just cant win. If I fixed the cut, it would look a lot better than it does, but Im too lazy. Anyways, tell me what you think about this one as well. Enjoy.

Im still thinking about how Im going to do the Red Rings of Death signature to be honest. Right now Im stuck on this Gangster No. 1 signature though. I really love the movie, the guy just needs to be cut out better and I will be satisfied.

I was going to make another cut from the dvd case of this movie, but I decided not to because it would have royally sucked. So I just found a random render of some Mafia guy and went ahead and added the title to the sig anyways.



Misa's puppet from Death Note. I saw the render and had to do something with it. I think I should have made the signature smaller though because it looks like there is too much open space to me. Anyways, as usual, comment if you wish.

Erm, your "Believe" sig.... That's not Master Chief is it?? Because the "Believe" logo is for Halo 3, and Master Chief is definitely the greatest Hero ever hahha. But regardless, that sig looks SICK.

It is Master Chief. Of course, he is wearing the new customizable armor which will be available in Halo 3.

Offtopic, but the original armor looks way better. What is Bungie thinking. nonetheless, still an amazingly kickass sig

MUSE. Not much to say about this one. Not really sure if I like it or not.


Zacky Vengeance. Nothing special really done with this one at all. I was just trying to make a good signature using someone playing a Guitar. Couldnt really find any good pictures of Guitarists I like, though.

Legend of Zelda. Didnt turn out exactly how I wanted it to but that's alright. It still looks good. The flow of the signature itself is good but I didnt know what to do with the font. Just another process of learning more techniques using different effects.

These still look good man. I don't know if all of them make exceptionally good sigs (the 2nd and 3rd one might), but the last one looks more for visual appeal than a sig because its got beautiful effects

I think this is one of my best signatures ive ever made (visually). Nice background, I love the effects that I blended into it. The render is from Call of Duty 4. It was a little pixelated when I took it though, so that's a little dissapointing. The lighting effects on the render were created by me. The shine on the weapon as well as the helmet were both put there by me. I love it.

f*cking insane. Yeah dude the lighting makes it look absolutely realistic, and I can't even see any pixelation. it's got nice contrast without having too many light and dark colors. What I mean is that you didn't need some glow effect or burn effect to create contrast, it looks natural, which is immensely hard to do.

10/10 for its effects.

Can't say it's my FAVORITE sig of yours visually appealing wise, but it's DEFINITELY up there as one of the most memorable because of how good it DOES look.

Your last one really is pretty good, Duran, it was put together perfectly (to my eyes at least). Personally I think it’s your best yet =)

I think this one is damn good. I think the font could have been different, and maybe the render under the text maybe could have been blended differently (maybe), but overall, I love the colors in it and how it's laid out. Nice work.

Splinter Cell

Ive been sticking to the same style recently. Mainly because I like it. It also looks good to me. Im still experimenting a lot with photoshop because I have a lot to learn still. Ive been trying to add more things to the signature other than backgrounds, renders, and text. Im still improving my skill with making signatures gradually, being able to combine different techniques. Hopefully Ill continue to get better. Enjoy.

I really like the Fuel of War sig. I like the way you went about blending the colors on it (and in Splinter Cell). Splinter Cell looks a little empty to me though. Maybe that's just me. But, overall they're looking good =) Keep it up.

Oh my goodness..... Durandal..... these new ones are FANTASTIC.

The Counter-Strike one just has a nice looking background. Dunno if its the best for a sig, but aesthetically great.

The Ninja-Gaiden one looks SICKK. I dunno if I agree with the choice of background COLOR, (teal just doesnt seem to fit the ruthless killer of a ninja haha), but it looks awesomee.

The Persona one I give props to because you made a GREAT color theme. THe main character is often associated with so much blue (especially cause of his hair), but u managed to make him fit into that brownish color theme. Good work.

And the Yuber picture is decent. I like the feel of it how it's kind of faded, but the background is bland, really bland hahaha. Could use a lot of work in terms of the way it stands out and what the background is.

But overall awesome work. May not be the best LOOKING, but the effects you're using have improved considerably, and you've got so much potential because of that.

Quick question though, in ur Persona and Assassin's Creed sig, u have them both surrounded by those like "streams of light", how'd u get that effect?

And how did you get that water-colory type feel to the Counter-Strike sig?

I almost liked the old Yuber better, but the new one still looks pretty spiffy. I love the spider web-ish look he has in front of him, or the background effect, whatever you'd call that (sorry >.<). I'm a fan of the Assassin's Creed one as well. The other sigs look great too. Great work, and keep it up.

Watari from Suikoden. Im sure some of you recognize him. Anyways, I think it would have turned out great but for some reason I dont like the way I blended his arm grabbing the sword. Just trying to experiment and become better! Comments would be appreciated.

The D. Gray Man sig is cool. The SS Goku looks good too, but I can’t make out his features very well. I guess it’s just the stock, so that kind of bothers me, but it’s well done otherwise. The Code Geass and the Suiko sig are looking good as well, though I would agree that the arm could probably use work in the Suiko one. Though, since I unfortunately don’t really use Photoshop, I don’t know what to suggest. Maybe make his skin color a little brighter or something, if that’s even possible. Either that or maybe just not blend the red with his arm. I dunno. You probably don’t want to take my advice though, just because I don’t actually know how Photoshop works. Haha...yeah >.>

It looks fine enough as it is otherwise =) I would have to say the D. Gray Man sig is my favorite though. I dunno why exactly, it just is well done, in my opinion. Cool stuff Duran =)

Sasuke. Dunno what to do with the border. Something turns me off with this one.

i like the code, the background and effects look really cool.. cant stand DBZ but it looks good.. I LOVE D GRAY MAN, but i dont think the sig is very good at all.. the effects that cover up his arms just look out of place and really stick out too much to me... doesnt look blending in very well at all..

your new sasuke sig is pretty... cool brush effect near his face.
