Well, I was just sitting around and remembered this first part for no real reason.
As an Inuyasha fan but a person who needed sleep, I used to record it when it came on Adult Swim. So i got the commercials along with it and one of those said commercials was for Xeno Episode 1. The music and quick action-packed scenes hooked me. I didn't rush out or anything but I saw that commerciala nd made sure to get to the store to buy the game.
Episode 2 I was majorly hyped for...planned to pre-order it and everything. My grandmother told me to wait. To rent it first and see if I liked it. i scoffed at her of course but man she was totally right. if I had spent $50 on that junk, I'd be extremely upset.
As for EP3, I had excellent faith this game would be great. So i pre-ordered it at GameStop and picked it up the day it came out.

Uh, I decided to buy when it was first announced as being developed by the same team that did xenogears, which made me get a gamer boner and I bought the games blindly after that. The first one I bought with some money mother would give.
When I was in college, mother, my sister and me would take a trip to miami in july and she would have 1000 bucks for each of us to spend, so the first game I bought with that money. The second was with mine and the third too.

When I had cable, I saw a commercial for the first game. I liked what I saw and so I rented it. A few years later, I buy the game used for about 10 dollars and I still have yet to be it, so I haven't bought the other two (even though I want to beat the first game).

I bought Xenogears under the notion it was rare (not noticing it just recently became Greatest Hits). So I beat it, liked it for the most part, and went out and bought Xenosaga which I knew had... something... to do with Xenogears. Turns out I liked Xenosaga better. And so yeah. And then Episode 2 came out like 6 months later, and I bought it a good ways after it came out.
XS3 I sold a bunch of games with bad prices to buy new, though. Because goddamn it, I couldn't wait at that point.

Well quite a few years back... I think it was 6 or 7 years ago, I read an article about the Xenogears project in a magazine called Super Play which I used to read frequently. I read about how it was from the creator of Xenogears (which I hadn't played at the time, but heard of) and the article had a double spread of a big picture of Miltia which I thought looked nice. The one that looks like a map and you can see The Song, Labyrinthos and the city. It had some screen shots as well and I thought the game looked interesting. Especially KOS-MOS. Then one of my friends got the game and talked to me about it, saying that KOS-MOS is evil, and that her eyes turned red. (I guess he didn't notice that her weyes weren't usually blue.) So I remembered reading the article and decided to get the game to see how it was. I liked it a lot. I thought it was thge best rpg on PS2 with a very complex and mature story. And after playing it I decided to play Xenogears.
I got both Xenosaga 2 and 3 after seeing screenshots and trailers online. The theme playing in the Episode 2 trailers was just brilliant, and I couldn't wait to get the game. But most of the game wasn't as great as I hoped. Then came news, pictures and trailers of the third game in the series, and I really liked what I saw, and I had no doubt it would be a great game, and I was right.

I simply got Xenosaga Episode I after having played Xenogears (which in turn I just randomly got a hold of). And then I just bought the next installments. No big stories behind how I got them... :s Except that my first copy of Xenosaga Episode I was broken, and I had to ask for a replacement. But other than that, there's nothing to it.

I joined this forum, and people said Xenosaga was a great game. So I bought it.
Then I was in the gamestore and saw Xeno II. I wasn't even halfway through Xeno I at the time, but I bought it anyway so I wouldn't have to later.
Same goes with Shadow Hearts.

My old RPG process meaning late SNES early Playstation era was an interesting way for RPGs for me. I heard no reviews, little to no word of mouth and out of my own curiousities of reading Player's Guides and so I rented or even straight bought the following games w/o prior info besides the Player's Guide:
Xenogears
Suikoden 2
Star Ocean 2
Chrono Trigger
Valkyrie Profile
Breath of Fire 3
Wild Arms
Recommended by old best friend:
Final Fantasy 6(promps any other little known FF for me obviously)
Earthbound
Yeap I was born out of the Playstation era but idolize the SNES era that I was very young around the time of.

I have no idea why I bought Xeno I, I just went to gamestop one day and bought it. But for the 25 hours I played it, I knew I just had to get into this series. I got Xeno II off of preorder(regrets). I would have not bought Xeno III if I didn't reach the changes it would have had that trumped all of Xeno II's mistakes. I bought that off of preorder too.

I think that Xenogears is a less simple story. When I bought my psx in 1999 i was fairly new to rpgs and have only experimented with Super Mario Rpg and Pokemon so I asked a friend to recommend me some games and he said Xenogears was good. Then I went to the store and got it and fell in love with it and thus made me buy xenosaga.

Well probably about four years ago I would frequent Toys R Us since...well they had more games there than any other store I went to, so I liked the place. I was looking through games there as usual and spotted this apparent RPG called Xenosaga: Episode I with some weird german phrase on it. There was something about the images on the box that intrigued me, I could have used a new RPG at the time, so I bought it for like thirty bucks. That game pretty much changed my view on certain things after that. I bought Xenosaga II right when it came out and in between that time of beating it and waiting impatiently for Xenosaga III, I found Xenogears on Amazon. I had heard really good things about the game and I knew I wanted to get it, but it just was never the right time. It was only like thirteen bucks at the time though, so I went ahead and got it. Turned out to be my favorite game ever. And so the same with Xeno II to Xeno III, I bought it right when it came out and I'm glad it did. If there's ever going to be another Xeno game somewhere in the future, I'll probably buy it right away too just because of the title. I really do love Xeno to death.

I got Episode One after coming to this site and hearing about it. I asked about the game in the shoutbox (very reliable place, I might add. Of course, I can’t use it now, but who’s complaining?), people said it was good, so that very day I ordered it online. Of course, I didn’t get it till about half a year later (maybe longer), but I got it. Haven’t finished it yet, since I’m not allowed to play it though >_> So, I can’t say why I got the next two, as I haven’t. But, that’s when I decided to get the first =)

I was just lookingfor a new game to play, though I was low on Cash. I went into GameStop and was browsing their pre-owned games and found a copy of Episode one for 12.99. A simple steal, at least to me. It is probably cheaper now, though.
Justk ind of bought the sequels afterwords. :x Nothing special.

I bought them all after you all cried to mama about how great they were.
And then I kept them strictly for the sake of owning them as they're just alright titles. I bought them all for 20 bucks or less as well, so I can't complain.

It's this damn forum's fault. I saw the topic Episode II coming to Europe and of course I took a peek... afterall any news about an RPG coming to the UK is going to be a bonus. I become really interested in what I had seen and I couldn't think of anything better to get for Christmas.
Christmas day was spent watching the DVD... and I still had no idea what was going on. I played a little of the actual game but I basically put it aside for Grandia II which I had also bought. I managed to get into Episode II in a big way (I could look past his terrible game play).
Anyway, I become obsessed with Xenosaga, and done a lot of research into what had actually happened in Episode I. About a year ago I went away to America and managed to buy a preowned copy... however It wouldn't be until a few months ago that I'd actually manage to find a way to play episode 1 (I still haven't finished it).
Episide III was more simple, I bought it over e-bay and it was the slowest week and half of my life waiting for it. I just couldn't do without it. Totally awesome game.

Remembered a friend playing Xenosaga 1 and it looked somewhat interesting, so I used my store credit from returning a non-working copy of Digimon World (which I bought back after they fixed =p) + $5 to get the first game. Got second a few weeks or months after it came out, then got the third on its release date =)

Either Tony bought them all or we received the first one as a gift and/or borrowed it from a friend and Tony bought the other two.

I had no knowledge of Xenogears when I bought Xenosaga Ep.1. I just saw a preview about in a gaming magazine, thought it looked cool and then bought it later on its release. Oddly enough, I didn't like it the first time I started playing it, so I stopped playing but months later restarted it and loved it to pieces. Must have been in a crappy mode before or something, or I just wasn't as used to RPGs back then. I was really, really hyped up about Ep.2 and I could hardly stand waiting. In order to occupy myself I went and bought Xenogears and beat it. I preordered Ep.2 in order to get the DVD with it. Ep.2 didn't live up to my expectations, but I still ended up pre-ordering Ep.3.
