So, after making three copies of pretty much the same thing (with some added content here and there) it looks Itagaki (or at least Team Ninja) has announced a sequel to the game. To put the criticism behind, I have to say that I am very interested in it, especially since the first games on the Xbox and PS3 were really damn good. I hope that the challenge and gameplay stays the same, especially the gameplay since it was so well done.

Anyway, here are some pictures from the game. Man, I love dismembered limbs and gore.

I'm down. Is this a 360 exclusive though? I'm too lazy to look into it.

I like Ninja Gaiden because it's a button smasher that takes brains as well as not so mindless combinations of buttons and weapons. Granted there's a few other titles in the genre that are close in scope of challenge however I personally think that Ninja Gaiden is top notch.

I'll take the PS3 version, plz.

Sorry, but Ninja Gaiden 2 is being published by Microsoft so it is basically a 360 exclusive. I guess were gonna have to wait for another console generation to get Ninja Gaiden 2 now. laugh.gif

Ha, seems that way. I was surprised, Sigma just came out not all that long ago and now there are these cool looking scenes from another game? Good for them, I like Sigma but I guess no new Ninja Gaiden for me. I wouldn't invest in an Xbox for Halo or Ninja Gaiden combined. I'm a fan but...not all that huge of one. Maybe another good Ninja Gaiden will come down for the PS3 again someday.

I'm not surprised. Tomonobu Itagaki doesn't like PS3, and doesn't seem to care about the fanbase created on Sony's console thanks to Sigma. He is the designer of Ninja Gaiden 2.
But the Ninja Gaiden Sigma director Yosuke Hayash likes to work with Playstation 3, and has expressed his interests in creating more games on the system.

Speaking in London yesterday, Hayashi slammed developers who complain that the PS3 is difficult to create games for - saying that "if they think it's difficult, they should get out of the ring."

Responding to a question about whether the team had found it difficult to transition from working on the Xbox to the PS3, Hayashi said, "there are some developers who have complained about the difficulty of developing for PS3. But, I am a creator, a developer - and by making a product, we receive money from the players. We shouldn't complain about the difficulty."

Hayashi responded in similar terms when asked if the team, which has recently focused most of its efforts on Microsoft's platforms, plans to extend its support for the PS3 in future.

"As I said, people who complain about the difficulty of creating games for PS3 should get out, right?" Hayashi commented. "While I'm saying that kind of thing, if I get out myself, then what I say doesn't mean anything! So, I should stay - right?"

I won't be surprised if we see a Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 on PS3 from Yosuke Hayash down the line. But this game is published by Microsoft and designed by Tomonobu Itagaki, so I don't expect to see it on PS3.

I'll just play it on my 360.

I have both consoles for a reason. ohmy.gif

Nice. I love Ninja Gaiden. The pictures look great, graphics look amazing, but I expected that from Ninja Gaiden. I thought that it would be released on 360 and PS3, but I guess its going to be Microsoft Exclusive, which is cool because i'm getting a 360 soon. Can't wait to play this one.
Bleucheese Hero
I for one am extremely excited for this game. Although, having beat NG 1 on Very Hard, I wonder and can only hope that the difficulty's will be ratcheted up a couple notches. Definitely buying it on release date.

At Microsoft's GDC 2008 keynote address, Tomonobu Itagaki just announced that Ninja Gaiden 2 will be released in North America on June 3, with a worldwide release coming in early June.

Itagaki showed off a brand new demo of the game running on "real hardware" at the keynote. The demo level featured battles with enormous winged creatures, a fight on a rickety bridge, and a very, very large sword.

Ninja Gaiden II demo coming soon

While we're out gallivanting about in San Francisco during GDC,
our 360s languish at home, alone. Thankfully, the dutiful fanboys at
X3F are keeping tabs on the happenings on Xbox Live Marketplace. Their
diligence has been rewarded too, as the GDC section of Xbox Live
Marketplace has revealed that a Ninja Gaiden II demo should be hitting Live sometime in the near future. Given the very polished nature of what Tomonobu Itagaki had on display during Microsoft's keynote, we wouldn't be surprised if the GDC demo
and the Xbox Live demo are one and the same. Good news if true, though
it threatens to halt all productivity at Joystiq if it comes to pass
before GDC is over.
