How many of you have played Fate/Stay Night, by Type-Moon, the visual novel? Seen the anime? Or read the manga? I did a search on this forum and found a discussion topic for it previously, however, it was long dead. Personally, I believe Fate/Stay Night to be one of the greatest creative works there were, it was delivered very well, even with certain flaws. It was a great anime.

I've been thinking for a while now that I'd like to start a roleplay based on Fate/Stay Night. This topic is partially to see how many people would be interested before I commit myself to making one. Depending on numbers, I may or may not go through with it.

Also, I'm actually somewhat unsure of Anime based Roleplays are accepted on this forum, I've found no rules against it...But I've yet to see an Anime based roleplay.

Fate was alright, I like the rest of the characters except for the main man himself, Shirou, which annoyed me for a really huge part of the series. lol Although from what I heard he's not as annoying in UBW and HF, but who knows... Anyway I look forward to UBW and HF but so far based on Fate it doesn't stand a hair of a chance against Tsukihime, well based on their respective games that is... there is no Tsukihime anime. lol

Yes there is. It's a 12 episode long one. Shingetsutan Tsukihime. It follows Arcueid's route through the story, with bits and pieces of the other routes thrown in. It's not bad, and keeps to the story for the most part.

I will, however, agree that Fate/stay night is really just awesome. I prefer the Visual Novel over the anime, just because of the way the story is presented and the artwork. God, the artwork is glorious, beautiful, and I never tire of it. The soundtrack for the game, though it lacks in the detail, sounds better than the one for the anime.

And no, there aren't any rules against Anime-Based Roleplays. They just tend to not do very well. I, myself, attempted a Neon Genesis Evangelion and a Gundam RP. Both crashed and burned fairly hard.

Missed the sarcasm? Its just a joke pulled by the fandom since for some the anime didn't do the game justice, although I partially agree with that statement. xD
Akito
Sarcasm is rather hard to pull off over the net anyway.

In any case, I take it you two are willing to participate in the RP should I give it a shot? (Hopefully it won't crash and burn tongue.gif)

Hm, I really would like to get the Visual Novel someday.

And yes, Shirou is a lot cooler in the other Scenarios...though not really by much, I guess. He's not that great a male lead, but I dunno, he kinda grew on him. Him and his annoying sense of justice. In UBW, I believe he can use..er...UBW, Archer's Reality Marble. And UBW makes anyone and everyone cool.
True Rune
It was interesting in the beggining, I was really interested. But as it went on, it got kinda boring and the whole teenage/half hentai crap is something I don't care for at all. I didn't like the ending either, but over all I have a positive view of the anime.
Unholy Sasuke
UBW is still undergoing BETA by the group translating the game. It should be out anytime soon. It's always a pleasure to see Archer. And Spoilers. Although I still resent the fact that our dear Shirou became our swordfrenzyawesomeuber Archer in the future. The anime is good. The manga(taking the UBW route supposedly) is better. The actual game itself triumphs over the rest. Btw, did you guys know there's a female archer?
Akito
And who would that be?

My personal favorite Servant is also an archer, Gilgy-sama xD "Bow before the King, mongrels,"
Unholy Sasuke
Well, for the female archer...

Spoilers:

Details of the female archer is unknown, some think it's a future version of Rin, some say it's Illya. Like Archer 'Emiya Shirou', this female archer is also capable of projecting swords and fight with it. I like the character design for her =D. I forgot which game she came into Fate Stay Night though.

As for Gilgamesh... heh. "Who end up dying in the end? Mongrel" =P Nah. That arrogant behavior of his is a necessity for the title. Doujins of him, lancer and our little female priestess are always fun to read. He obtained a kid figure. lmao.

(PS: Editted because of the fugly smiley)
Akito
He only died because SOMEONE was cheap and attacked him while he wasn't ready! Plus, if he was fighting serious, he would've torn that silly Saber to pieces. Many times.

You know it's time to duck and cover when you hear "ENUMA ELISH!"

EDIT: I did some research and it turns out that the female archer is actually merely fan-made. Her name's Archer-ko.
gelmar
THe anime was awesome. It's a good idea to create a RP. Though I"m not into that stuff, so count me out. The anime was full of events, fights, and had developed characters, so I think that can make roleplayers to make up creative stories.

Saber, and Rider = <3

I Loved the anime. Haven't played it or anything. But I enjoyed the anime quite a bit. ^^
Servant Saber
The female Archer you're referring to is a doujin character called Archer-ko.

So, it's really nothing canon and is just something a fan came up with. What I'm interested in now is getting more into Fate/Zero, another storyline that follows the War prior to the one depicted in /stay night with Kiritsugu as Saber's master.
The Servants in that war include:

Rider - Iskander (Alexander the Great)
Lancer - Diarmid de Bhune (Spelling's probably wrong.."
Saber - Same
Assassin - Like True Assassin from /stay night.
Berserker - The Black Knight
Caster - Bluebeard (Guille de Rais)
Archer - Gilgamesh

The story looks really good. Instead of the one on one fights in /stay night, there's at least one scene where Saber, Caster, Lancer, Berserker, Rider, and Archer are all fighting one another at the same time.
Akito
Definitely, except it kinda sucks we know how Fate/Zero will end.

However, notice how the Heroes in that war by FAR kick the arse of the one Shirou was in. I mean seriously, for Iskander's Noble Phantasm, he can summon other Heroes from his army and have them just swarm the enemy! And the Black Knight, he can use just about anything as a Noble Phantasm, from lamp posts to Gil's Noble Phatasm Weapons (Which even he can't use).

Also, apparently Assassin can actually split into multiple Erei. Each with their own persona and characteristics.
Servant Saber
To expound on the Noble Phantasms of the Servants from the Fourth War.

Lancer:
Gáe Buidhe: Golden Rose of Mortality
Rank: B
Type: Anti-Unit
A cursed spear that renders injuries unrecoverable. As damage from this spear lowers the upper limit of the target's HP, no matter what healing spell or regeneration ability is used, the target can only be healed up to the "point where the wound was borne". Dispelling of the effects is impossible and the only way to be rid of the curse is to destroy Gáe Buidhe or its master, Diarmuid.

Gáe Dearg : Crimson Rose of Exorcism
Rank: B
Type: Anti-Unit
A long spear that negates mystical defense. Armor crafted by mystical energy has no effect towards the attack of this spear. If equipment provided with mystical enforcement or other enchantment is hit against Gáe Dearg, the enchanment will not activate. This is a "Noble Phantasm killer" that in truth, can only be defended against by physical means. However, it can not undo contracts and curses made in the past nor the effects of already completed sorcery.

Saber is hit by both during a fight, and loses the use of her left arm as well as Invisible Air. Caster then attacks her with summoned monsters, but Saber is still able to destroy them with just her good arm.

---

Rider:
Via Expugnatio: Distant Trampling Domination
Rank: A+
Type: Anti-Army
A trampling style using the Noble Phantasm, Gordius Wheel, Wheel of Heaven's Authority. Two damage rolls, from the hooves of the divine bulls and wheels of chariot are made. In addition to the physical damage from both attacks, there are also lightning (the manifestation of Zeus) effects, and should the target fail its STR check, additional damage will be dealt.

Aionian Hetairoi: Army of the King
Rank: EX
Type: Anti-Army
Allows the planar manifestation as Servants of Iskander's personal guard, who vowed allegiance to him even after death and became Heroic Spirits together with their lord. The summoned warriors are all Master-less Servants, however each have the rank E- equivalent of the "Independent Action" skill, allowing materialization possible for a maximum of 30 turns.

Expugnatio has the destructive power of a modern day military bomber jet. Aionian Hetairoi is very similar to Archer's Unlimited Bladeworks, only instead of weaponry, it's men.

---

Caster:
Prelati's Spellbook: The Text of the Spiralled Sunken Citadel
Rank: A+
Type: Anti-Army
Also known as the R'lyeh Text, a spellbook with a cover made of human hide and originally belonged to Prelati, a comrade of Caster's. Using blood and flesh as mediums for materialization, Prelati's Spellbook summons monstrous creatures that are neither spiritual bodies nor Phantasm Beasts, but those which exist in a dimension with entirely different natural laws.

The spellbook is a summoning grimoire; the book itself is alive and responsible for the incantations that summon and revive demonic monsters. Caster does not actually read the spells recorded on the pages of Prelati's Spellbook, but is able to freely command the spellbook.

Caster uses this agains Saber, but even with one arm disabled by Lancer, she hacks through each one. Supposedly a hundred of them.

---

Berserker:
Unnamed Noble Phantasm
Rank: ?
Type: Support (Self)
The black-armoured knight appears to have a Noble Phantasm that allows him to use any weapon (even objects like telephone poles, fighter jets, or the Noble Phantasms of other Epic Spirits) as his own Noble Phantasm, which gives him the power to defend himself against Archer's Gate of Babylon and hold his own against Saber. However, this Noble Phantasm demands a higher level of mana from his Master in order to materialize (several times higher than other Servants) and tends to be difficult to control because the Black Knight's presence is unstable as a result of his Master's weakening body and the higher amount of mana required to materialize Berserker-class servants.

Berserker has three Noble Phantasms, blurred in his status page, only this unnamed one having been shown. This one is used when Berserker is attacked by Archer and Gate of Babylon. Berserker uproots a telephone pole, swats the projectiles out of the air, and starts throwing them back. Old Gil is forced to retreat.

---

Assassin:
Zabaniya: Delusional Image
Rank: B+
Type: Anti-Unit (Self)
By having a soul that, while being a single entity, is split into multiple parts, division of its own spiritual body potential and physically manifestation of those parts as multiple Servants is possible. Splitting into a maximum 80 bodies is possible. Generation of a self-ego that is unaware of itself (among the bodies) is also possible.

Archer 'kills' one of these images and Kirei and Resei Kotomine withhold Assassin for the rest of the War. Kirei kills Tokiomi Tohsaka (Rin's Father) and takes Archer as his Servant instead, nulling the one with Assassin after his father dies of old age.
