Lol, i want to know what everyone would expect of the last suikoden. I heard it was ninth, but i don't know tongue.gif. I just want to hear every one's opinion because i KNOW that everyone woud think, every hero from every suikoden would be so cool in one game >8)

It's like some rune that brings'em all together and BAM! yknoe? suddenly Nanami would be fighting SuikodenHero5 with the same weapon 8)

Lol, where did you hear that? I doubt even Konami knows which one will be the last one yet.

From the last game I expect some all our rune war involving all 27 true runes, and Harmonia and Hikusaak as the central villain. I would hope to see Luc again, but it's unlikely to happen.

Something tells me V was the last one.

Maybe I'm being a pessimist. tongue.gif

Go to hell.

As Athrun said, Konami probably doesn't know where it will end, and even if they make a game that conclude the story about the runes, they will probably jump in time, or show other parts of the world that takes place in, well let say, Suikoden 1!

but then it also depends on popularity!
Hoodman
Suikoden are becoming more popular. So we'll probably see a few more. Suikoden one was barely noticed and neither was two(hahahaha sucks for you guys). with Releases on the PS2 people paid more attention to the suiko universe. The biggest thing is that the Playstation one library was soooo big filled with hits, good stuff, mediocre, and crap that somebody actually likes; that many games get lost in the shuffle. Like how many people know of the Pandemonium games or Gex the Gecko. There's more twisted metals than you think. Seriously there's so many random PS1 games, Intelligence Cube!! Honestly if it wasnt for games like ToS and ToA, SO3, Suiko 3-5, Xenosaga, people wouldn't know about the Playstation RPG gems. Because nobody was talking about Xenogears or Suiko 2 in my age, I had to figure about those games by trying them myself. Yeh everybody knew about MGS1 and FF7 but not much else.
Manc
That! I don't really belive Hoodman, ok there is surely many who went that way, but equally many played the PS1 games before the later came out on PS2.

I for an instance am like that, I played Suikoden 1 and 2 and Xenogears before Suikoden 3 and Xenosaga even was mentioned!
Pesmerga
Suikoden has a long way to go, so don't expect a last game anytime soon.
Though I do believe that this series will get an end eventually, it can't run forever, neither do I hope to.
It shouldn't become a milking fest like Final Fantasy.

Anyway, the last game should have revealed the biggest question in the story. Explain why certain characters keep reappearing, the purpose of certain characters, the mystery of others.
What happened to the True Rune bearers, basically the final conclusion.

At this rate the series is going to take forever though. I really wish they'd speed it up, not so we can see the end, but so we can see more happen in the process.

I think the last suikoden game will be about the syndar civilization and how it is connected to every story and every true Rune in the game. I haven't played suikoden tactics and it might be about the syndar so if it is please forget the above comment

It wouldn't surprise me at all if the series doesn't really end. I don't mean they'll keep making the games for all eternity, of course not. I mean that the series will end suddenly like Konami finally decides it's not worth making another or they come up with some lame ending that really never was planned; they just didn't want to make any more afterwards. Being a huge fan of the series, I hope I'm wrong, but that is what it seems like will happen eventually.

I don't want them to speed it up, then bad games start coming out. You should be shot for such a sinful want!

Suikoden 1 didn't garner much attention because Final Fantasy VII was on it's way to the market and had everyone ooing and ahhing over the new graphics. Konami was never really known for RPGs anyway, and Square was the leader in that category since the NES.

They did manage to get a little more headway with Suikoden II, but the PSX was all about the new graphics and Suikoden I and II looked more like older RPGs. It did however gather a cult following and so when Konami came out with III, they advertised it way more than the previous two and Suikoden all of the sudden exploded with an avid fanbase.

Why did 1 and 2 not become very popular until 3? It's simple, it's because the people out there that focus more on RPGs than anything else (like myself) began to spread word, as it wasn't really advertised on T.V. or online much. So they gathered popularity more by word of mouth so to speak. III however did bring a lot of attention to the previous II because it was a great game and it left people wanting to play the originals.

And as for having all the main characters in one game... stupid idea, I'm not even going to bother getting into why that's so retarded.
