What does everyone think of WA3..is it better then 1,2 and 4?
Crimson Cloud
Still didn't got the chance to play it , unfortunately, but as I saw reviews, trailers of gameplay and lots of screenshots I think it's awesome. Personally my favorite WA games are the first three together with remake. As far as I saw the little of the game and heard the music I think that WA3 has the best soundtrack and has the real Wild West feel. I hope I will get this game soon.
Athrun
Wild Arms 3 has a great track that plays when you fight a certain villain, and it's not on the OST if I remember correctly. The Janus battle theme. Anyway, the game was very good up until the last parts of the game where I think the plot got silly, and the way a certain villain lost a battle against a girl with a minigun droping down from her skirt... I'd rather just forget it ever happened. The forst 80% of the game was great. The gameplay and the puzzles were typical of Wild Arms, and the world map exploration was awesome. Good mucis, nice characters (except for Gallows) and an interesting story, for the most part. It also had a stupid puzzle I specifically remember that made no sense at all. I spent hours on it, until I just threw a box on a torch out of frustration, and that actually solved the puzzle. There were no hints to it and no logic behind it whatsoever.
Good thing there's the internet and gamefaqs if you get stuck in games these days.

Back to the characters again, I liked both Virginia, Jet and Clive a lot. They were all badass characters in their own way. I'm not sure why they decided to make Gallows though. He looked like he wanted to kiss the enemy to death with those lips.
LagunaWannabe
I loved the main cast of characters, one of my favorites in any game. And the villains were equally amazing, Janus, Malik, Melody, and the other one (cant remember his name) were all interesting and original. I never got to finish the game, but I remember thinking positively about it, and I'm definitley getting WA5 soon.

Do you mean Sigfried? I can't believe you'd forget about him. But I think you're probably refering to one of those scientist guys before Sigfried showed up.
LagunaWannabe
Yep I am, let me find his name.... [goes to wikipedia]

Leehalt!!!!

haha and I slightly remember Siegfried, I stopped playing a little while after he came around.
Athrun
Siegfried was a cool villain. He was also in Wild Arms 1 apparently. I almost forgot about those other ones, the scientists. I remember Malik, Melody and Leehalt now though. Leehalt's name especially rings a bell when I hear it.
Sigs Minock
nope. WA3 isn't as good as WA1 or WA2... definitely better than WA4 though.
the villains, ie: Prophets, were alright but WA's Quarter Knights and WA2's "Cocytus" beats them out handily.

my major complaint about WA3 are the following:
1> Gallows. the only character with a bad design and no development. only thing he had was "Extension" combine it with Dan Darium's Replay and he don't have to do a damn thing.
2> You couldn't reassign the badges.

other than that, it was a good game.
TwinRoseARM
Well I just finish chapter 1 and now i on chapter two and so far i would it great then WA4..i haven't play WA1 and 2 but yea i agree that the chacater is amazing and some not but i would the villian is great as well since i saw janus new look,he look amazing strong and i can't wait to fight him and beat his butt ^^
The Evil Dead
Other than the fact this game is as easy as hell ( at least so far ) and that there's auto battle, and infinite magic basically, I dig it. It's a good game to play when I'm spacing off doing something else like work, or what have you. Just set it up for auto battle and you can take apart the whole game... And maybe level up a bit extra as well as I have.

I do like it more than Wild Arm's 1 and 2... Even if the characters and story is goofy as all hell ( YAY FOR DRIFTERS! )... It's not amazing, but it's an RPG I'll be finishing.

Well... Maybe.
Mushroom
I really enjoyed playing this game. I really liked the character and boss designs in the game, so i enjoyed it alot visually. Not the hardest game, but imo some of the secret bosses were REALLY brutal, I spent a long time on some of them. I don't remember much of the plotline anymore, but while nothing special, i did enjoy it, but i think i dug the game most for the visuals/music, the whole atmosphere they built up, I though tit was a well constructed world.
Manc
the atmosphere was perfect, it was nice wild west with mix of fantasy!

Athrun said almost everything I had to say about the game, we even agree on Gallows!!!

Janus was the best villian in the game! and as Athrun said the very last part was just, ?uh? but what the heck it worked that too!

Even if the game had alot of nice music, not much found it's way to my mp3-player! but they made perfect fit to the game!
Crimson Cloud
I finally got this game too. Just played it a little on the beginning and it looks and feels great. I'm gonna play it little later after I finish my other games.
Distorted_Reality
I think Wild ARMS 3 is the best in the series hands down. I've played all the Wild ARMS games except the original Wild ARMS and I never got around to beating the second because I lost interest. I loved everything about Wild ARMS 3, the battle system, the characters, the story, the soundtrack and the villains. Besides it has my favorite wild arms character in it. Wild ARMS ACF and 5 were good, too, but 3 introduced me to the series.
WitchHunter
Does anyone remember if Virginia killed anyone in the game? It's been awhile since I played it all the way through, and I need to know for a fanfiction I'm writing. I'd appreciate if anyone can help.
deathpath
i actually HATED this one.
it was really boring first... then it got really cool once you get the summons..
but after a while, the game gets REAAAALLLLLYYY repetitive.

DUNGEON... to get something. get to a new city.
storyline progresses....
DUNGEON... to get another thing. new city.
REPEAT.

and the dungeons got WORSE after a while. It got really boring and annoying.
i like the tank fights though. and my dragon ship 8)
it was like a transformer, and i was like YEAAAAAH >8)
Manc
I don't think so, not specificly on any cut-scene anyway.
and I think all bosses who died, weren't killed by the group storywise!
WitchHunter
Thanks Manc, that's helps alot. Bosses who died in battle don't matter, as they can just be blamed on one of the other characters, so as long as nothing happened in a specific cut scene I won't have to rewrite anything.
Rin
I LOVE this game, i love 1 and 4 also, i've never played 2 or ACF as they were never released in PAL sleep.gif;
I have a question about 3 if anyone can help? You know after you get the dragon, youre supposed to go to a place...i forget the name, anyway, i've searched all over, even checked gamefaqs and got the exact co-ordinates...to no avail, the building i'm looking for still won't show up! Grrrr! help please?
Mushroom
Oh yea, i think i know what you're talking about, it ws a real pain in the ass. If you can't trigger the thing you're trying to trigger (was it the alien quest?) just try doing more puzzles and upgrading your sandbuggy and stuff. I know thats horrendously vague, but just keep doing sidequest stuff. I remember being stuff, and just doing everythin g i could, and it worked out.
Rin
Thanks, no joy yet, its the dissection facility i'm searching for...any ideas anyone else?
Theferrell
I'm new to the series. I bought Wild Arms 3 for $5 in the bargin bin at EB Games. I'm a huge RPG fan and I'm WELL PLEASED with this game. I love the graphics, story, and characters. Things are always interesting. smile.gif I'm in the third chapter, and already have played over 24 hours smile.gif I CAN"T WAIT!!!
Rudy06
I actually just started replaying this, in light of not finishing 5. Am I stuck in the game? No..just not interested to play it. But Wild Arms 3, I have a personal vendetta against. Apparently my game data for it is gone..so...That doesn't make me happy. Now I have to beat the game again just for it. =D
Theferrell
Hey, I'm in the third chapter, just finished the Milienium puzzle sidequest, and I have a question. What the poop does an EX-key do??? Should I know, or is there like an uber-secret place I have to go???
Nash
I'm one dungeon short of completing my proper first Wild Arms title, The Vth Vanguard, so I'm thinking of going back to the earlier ones and try them out.

I already have 1, ACF and 4, so I've been thinking about getting the rest. Played 1 and ACF for a bit before, but somehow never gave them enough attention to get past the first few chapters.

How does 3 measure up to 5, specifically?

EX-File keys are... pointless. collect them to unlock stuff at the end of the game, useless stuff.

@Nash, imo 5 was better than 3. [4 all out sucked entirely, so comparing it to the other games is redundant.]

still each game had it's ups and downs. major downside for both games, imo, is that only the equipped mediums give characters skills. meh, no personal FP skills.

WA5 had better characters, WA3 had Gallows. Gallows had no backstory- he was only good for Replay/Extend...

i don't really member much about the stories...
Nash
Digging up for info on 4, I heard about the impossible-to-complete Ex File requirement. Sad. sad.gif
And I was planning to complete ACF and 4 in a single go to score that data transfer bonus, too.

If 5 is better than 3, then I guess I'll halt the desire to get that one for now.
Flame
Me and Wild Arms 3 have a rivalry going... It wants me to play it and I want to play it, but the exploration just bugs the hell out of me. I love the battle system and the story somewhat interests me but not being able to run away from battle... half the time not knowing where I'm supposed to go... and if you do something in the wrong order and then your screwed. I spent hours trying to find this place only to find out I had to talk to some girl in a village before it could be opened... Gah!

So I want to carry on with it but I normally follow a walkthrough just so I don't keep on going round in circles (of course I don't look at the boss battle strategies because that really WOULD take away the fun). This is on the pile of games along with Breath of Fire V and Digital Devil saga... games I own... want to play... but for some reason just don't.

yup, completing the bestiary is impossible due to Media.Vision/XSeed taking out a critter and not fixing the eventual bug.

what i liked most about WA3 was Maya and her gang. i want to see a sequel with her team.
Nash
What's the point of removing those mobs anyway...

At least those wild-arms.net only items removed in WA5 they removed made sense.
Theferrell
Wee!!!!! Just beat Wild Arms 3. Man, talk about an annoying last (wait... 8??) bosses. Quite annoying, good thing when I got the crap beaten out of by the last boss, I used the gimel coin and it only took me to the beginniing of that battle, and not all over again (I would have said screw this and turned it off if it did that...)

Ya, overall: LOVED IT!!! Characters are cool, cell-shading in it's glory days is great, boss battles wern't too impossible, and the overall mood of the game was one of hope and progress, two themes I love. So, overall, 8/10. Definately got my $5 out of it and ended up getting more!!!!
Hoodman
Wild Arms 3 was pretty easy, but I really dug the villains - what they actually did with Siegfried's story arc. Plus the characters were great outside of course the obvious loser Gallows, wtf did he have to do with anything. Wild Arms 3's music and themes are the most western of any of the Wild Arms though, the game is very Western.

Wild Arms 2 was interesting with Odessa Crew in the first disc, then overall it fell pretty flat in disc 2. Though Kanon was a very cool character.

Wild Arms 1, I played for a long time, then I think I got stuck or had to give my friend back in the game. It was good, but for the most part the graphics were funky and I didn't care enough about the characters except for Jack. Actually I'm not sure if I've got to the final dungeon of the game or way before that. I have no idea when I stopped playing. The intro song, is the best thing ever. But the game (I have no idea if Alter Code F fixed things) is tricky to play because it didn't seem fully debugged or cleaned up. There's some fun stuff, Quarter Knights, Jack & Lady Harken, Siegfried's story arc in the game, the golems, plus how dark the game could be. But overall, I didn't have much of a connection to the characters and there's only 3 main ones: Cecilia bored me, Rudy just wasn't enough (they didn't use the silent protagonist to the fullest here) and Jack he was absolute cool and had good back story.
Chalryn
I was really into this game for a while, back when I was seriously playing through it for my first time, and when I was paying attention to the story and whatnot. However, I got distracted by optional bosses, and became fixed on getting them all beaten before I completed the game, so I lost interest at some point, and didn't get back to the game for quite a while. Totally forgot most of the story, but I did manage to take down those last few optional bosses, and then I plowed through the final battles that were all extremely easy at that point. (Clive + low HP + Valiant + full Gatling = everything dies.)

Nevertheless, the game was plenty fun, I thought. I actually enjoyed collecting and reading the Adventure novels, even, haha. (Wasn't Marivel a character from WA2, by the way?)

Yes she was a playable special character in WA2 (not the most useful for battle, but needed for optional boss fights)
Reading her tales of the Adventure novels was pretty fun, because I knew it was her.

On a side note, I must say that the Wild Arms series probably has the most and some of the hardest amount of optional boss fights of any RPG series. Even starting from the first one
