Well i guess whats your favorite True rune, but it dont have to. I know you all love the killer rune.
I want to know peoples favorite runes, and the attacks 8)

Like, my rune would Zerase's Star. Meteor Shower kills EVERYONE.
or suikoden II's Resurrection. that was AWESOME.

I'm not really a big fan of magic though. I like the formation TRUE MEN in suikoden V. The formation has a special attack... i killed the final boss. in 2 shots.

LOVED the True Wind Rune. If you read the Suikoden 3 manga, Luc kills people in the COOLEST ways with it, it's awesomeeee, totally rocks.

I liked Geddoe's Lightning rune because of the cool looking effect lightning has, it made Geddoe look badass when he used it.

I liked the Rune of Punishment too

The runes in Suikoden II are brilliant, some of them are just so pretty and look stunningly good, it is ridiculous.

- Black Sword: Hungry Friend - Now THAT is one pretty spell, I was very eager to use it on that certain boss.
- Bright Shield Rune: Forgiver Sign - Another pretty animations with devastating effect.
- Soul Eater: Judgement - Blimey, they made it look even better than in Suikoden I.
- Resurrection Rune: Charm Arrow - I couldn't believe my eyes when I first saw this spell.
- Thunder Rune: Thunder - zap!
- Rage Rune: Final Flame - Devastating!
- Mother Earth Rune: Eartquake - It is cool to throw someone in a river of burning lava

I liked some other Runes as well, such as Shin's Tarantula, Oulan's Raging Dragon and Zamza's Fire Dragon, as well as Genshu's Swallow.

Another thing I liked was Blazing Camp, which was the Thunder and Final Flame combined, nice effect and devastating graphics.

My favourite rune remains the Soul Eater though.

Speaking kinda generally here, but I think I'd have to say it's a tie between the Wind- and Lightning-elemental runes, for me.

Wind/Cyclone/True Wind give some pretty handy supportive spells, plus The Shredding, which has always been one of my favorite lower-level spells in the series (though it's become somewhat obsolete in more recent installations), as well as Shining Wind, which I love for being both offensive and supportive. (I guess that kind of spell is my favorite in any game.)

Lightning/Thunder/True Lightning are just amazingly powerful runes, and as you get the higher-level runes in the set, they become less focused on single-target attacks, making them that much more useful. Always been great for taking down bosses, and with spells like Thunder Storm, even groups of enemies.

I'm sure a few others could be squeezed into my favorites, but I'll just keep it simple this time. ^^;

hahah right on brotha

Yeah in the Suik 3 Manga, SPOILERS:

Luc like, controls the air around Jimba and starts to make him suffocate, since he can control it and all. And then he says how with the wind and air he can also control air pressure, and to kill Jimba he makes all the air pressure around him REALLY intense, and Jimba like, kinda semi-explodes from the inside out. It's absolutely brilliant

And just the way they draw the Lightning Rune in the manga, it looks friggin awesome when it surrounds Geddoe or whenever he uses it. Just the concept of lightning makes it a favorite for me as well. I partly like it cause I also love Geddoe. I also love the story behind it, how Geddoe got the True Lightning Rune when he broke into Harmonia to break out the FLame Champion, I loved that.

Runes... Let's see...

Anything Lightning/Thunder based from Suikoden II. I loved the lightning effects. Never has lightning looked more deadly in an RPG.

I'm big on Double Beat Runes (Suikoden II). Mainly because they are so easily obtained (and at the beginning of the game!) and so damned fun. No sane monster would randomly encounter my party with this setup:

Killey with a Double Beat Rune, Gale Rune (or the 'Speed' rune, as I like to call it), and a Double Strike Rune. Add to his weapon the rune that makes your attack go up each round (forgot it's name dry.gif), and Killey = ownage. If he has Beserk on, it's even more the ownage. Hence my abuse of the Bright Sheild Rune.

The Double Strike Rune is a double edged sword, as it gives the character that attacks with it more attack power, but in return, the enemies also do more damage to whoever has the Double Strike Rune. So I don't really use it much, only on my godlike Killey setup.

Another favorite is the Holy Rune in Suikoden. Makes Mcdohl able to move a hell of a lot faster .

I am more for runes that raise your attacks/stats and not so much the magical runes. I never really used to much magic in the Suikoden games, except against bosses.

I also loved Thunder Runner in Suikoden II. Dunno, the sound effect (sort of scream) and the flashy lightning makes it just look really good.
As well as Dancing Flames in Suikoden I =) and Explosion in Suikoden II.

Ah, yes, the Exertion Rune. I'm glad to see someone other than myself takes advantage of that, particularly for Killey's setup. According to Suikosource, it gives a +20% attack bonus each turn, until the total increase reaches +100%. (Five turns.)

I wouldn't really say that Double-Beat is "so easily obtained," myself. ^^; It usually takes me a while just to get my first one, so I usually only bother to get one. However, in my last playthrough, I managed to pick up two or three. Definitely worth the time spent, though.

The drop rate on them is low, but with enough patience, you could get as many as you want. I usually only get 3 before I just finish the Mist Monster and head off for Ryube.

Same with the Gale Rune. Those yellow things with scythes outside Muse (with Pilika) drop Gale Runes. A character with a Gale Rune equipped sometimes attacks 3 or 4 times. Once my Killey cleared an entire battlefield of 6 zombies because his speed was so insanely high and he was just way too powerful.

And yes Pesmerga, the Lightning sound effects are also great. Especially for Bolt of Wraith.
True Rune
I put Double-beat on someone always stuck in your party, like Nanami.
My favorite is the Cyclone Rune/True Wind. So much use. biggrin.gif
Maybe "Worst Rune" would be a better topic..
