Full Version: .hack//G.U. original animation?
RPG Dreamers Forums > Video Games > Popular RPG Series > Dot Hack Series
Athrun
I don't know how accurate this is, so if anyone has any solid info that would be good.

Anyway it has been reported on GAME Watch that an OVA is in the works, if I understood it correctly. And it looks like it might be .hack//G.U. related. I didn't try to translate any lines, but the only thing I picked up was that the story conclusion will be different from the one in the game, and that Haseo has a B-st form.

Here are some pics

http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/game/docs/20071003/cc2.htm

It could be game related too since the last few screenshots look like they are from a videogame.

This one for example.

I've also seen this discussed on http://dothackers.net/
There's a YouTube trailer as well, on the site's index, so it's legit.

(See how Athrun and I did that, kids?)
Athrun
Thanks for the trailer. Looks like it's real then.

And this was the best part of the trailer.

It's as if Cyberconnect 2 could feel our forums and others arround the net being overrun with topics like
"A new .hack//G.U. game is coming out! It's true! It's a trilogy. My friend saw the trailer!!!" if they didn't add that text in the trailer.
Mushroom
Awesome, the first bit of .hack news i've been able to get excited over in a long time. I watched the whole of roots, and waiting for GU....and it never came here. Well, this is the next best thing i guess, and i look forward to finding out what happened after the awesome end of the show.
Crimson Cloud
Ah... milking out the series again? So It seems the wedding in the game won't have any influence on this apparent sequel ;)
Mushroom
Um, milking the series? I think my post above is pretty much conclusive evidence that there's people out there that want this. We (europe) never got the games, it'll be easy for me to see the movie, and tbh, i enjoyed the anime, it'll be cool to see the rest as something i can watch as well.
AbYsS
Oh, the CG movie~ It looks great and so do the graphics. I can't wait for it though it probably won't be available until next year, sadly ;.;.

Athy, thoughs pictures in your first post are full of Pure win and I love it, awesome job.
Bomb
Famitsu says this is starting into Tokyo theaters on December 22nd, starting January '08 in Osaka, and being released for DVD and Blu-ray on March 25th of '08.
Noir
AIDA infected Atoli? Sweet.
Nekomata
oh i heard about this! i joined a dot hack fan club on gaiaonline...anyway i heard that theres also going to be a special edition that comes with a guide of The World or something...i think the movie will re-tell the story of the game with some diffences. theres also some info on dot hack wikia. i can't wait to see it! it looks really good so far! Haseos B-set form looks awsome!
Mushroom
Awesome stuff, if the blu-ray makes it over here, i'll be purchasing that. If not, I'll acquire it with the usual methods. I really want to see it. I might re-watch all of rotos before I watch it XD
Theferrell
So, this movie is out now.... right??? Any word on when I can get it off of a Torrent subbed??? (I don't have access to Japanese DVD's let alone a player that can play them...)
Mushroom
I asked the exact same question in a thread on the same subject a few down from here. No answer as of yet.
king of sin

False. .Hack//G.U. (the focus of the thread) is a trilogy. Feel free to argue that point with Bandai though.

well when i look at dot hack, i look at all the hacks from sign to gu thats why i said its a saga not a trilogy. dont mind me though, its just my way of looking at things wink.gif
Mushroom
Well, you look at it wrongly. We're discussing GU here, so it is a trilogy. We not talking about sign or anything else here. Its the gu movie. Gu was a trilogy. Fact.
king of sin
the rules clearly state no flaming and i did say " dont mind me, its just my way of looking at things wink.gif " so get off my back and let me enjoiy being an immature pain in the *** ok? happy.gif
Mushroom
No. In no way is me stating you're wrong, when you are, is me flaming. This is a board where games are discussed. Would you like me NOT to discuss this? Should I just sit and look at my keyboard when I see something I disagree wth?

Don't act crazy man. GU is a trilogy, and your pissy because you and me know it XD
Theferrell
ohmy.gif (Runs and hides)

A showdown is about to ensue!!! smile.gif

Well, we all know that TRI = three, so G.U. has three games in the series... so therefore G.U. is a trilogy.

Is that too hard to understand people???

Also, is anybody gonna answer our question??? WHEN THE POOP ARE WE GONNA GET IT!!!!:)

LuPerry has fan subbed .hack//G.U. Trilogy. I'm currently downloading the file and can't wait to watch it! smile.gif
Athrun
LuPerry have two versions of it. One is in mvk format, and the file size is huge. Over 4 GB. But it was barely watchable at all because of extreme lag. I'm not sure why since I can watch other mvk anime files just fine. The other release is in aac, which I believe is the same format many cell phones use. The file size is much smaller, but this one works just fine in VLC, so I'll watch it later.

I was able to watch the parody episode with lagging on the mvk release though. I'll have to re watch it again, but from what I saw it was really funny stuff.

Your computer can't handle the LuPerry 880x496 version? What type of player did you try using?

At the moment, I believe another group released .hack//G.U. Trilogy, but it's using the same resolution you stated you had a problem with.

Yes, the parody good. If you were expecting Alkaid to have a major role in Trilogy, then you're mistaken. She's in the movie, but her role minor. There's Alkaid fan service in parody to make up for that. Not to mention fan service of other characters, such as Tabby, in parody, too. Parody just rip scenes from Trilogy, but changed the lines, there's a couple of custom scenes in parody, but not many.

I used all kinds of player. But I've never had any problems with any other mvk format or HD anime, so I wont change my codec pack for this movie alone if that was the problem.
But the other format worked well on VLC, so I can watch it now, but I haven't watched it yet.
