Woot! New Gundam Series biggrin.gif

I just watched the first episode and im really impressed so far...

I was wondering who else watched it after a diaster finish with See Destiny?

I will prolly be a review of the first episode soon so everyone has a chance to see it first.

Well luckily Kira isn't in this one to take away screentime pointlessly from other essential character. Or is he? =o It's Sunrise after all, so who knows. They want to sell their Freedom figures at any cost.
(Don't be surprised to see Freedom on the main title screen in the second or third opening.)

Anyway that asside. tongue.gif I watched the first episode and the first thing that hit me was the animation quality. It was really top notch. Not really movie quality but definitely above the standards of most anime. The music was also pretty good. I like the music that played when Gundam Kyrios appeared. The voice actor for the main character is the same as the one doing Yagami Light in Death Note, and I like that. He looks a bit Shinn Asuka to me, and his background doesn't seem all that different either. But I think the story is interesting so far. Trying to end all wars is not exactly a new concept but it's done differently.

Looking forward to episode 2. Hope to see more of Gundam Kyrios pilot. =p

Oh yeah, the one that was sniping from the ground? That was pretty rad. The pilot reminded me a bit of Sagara Sousuke's friend in Full Metal Panic for some reason. (I forgot his name.) Dynames was the one that shot the big plasma beam in the end right? It's cool but a bit overpowered. The problem with one-hit-kill beam usually means they usually won't hit very often. =/

When is episode 2 coming out anyway? It should be pretty soon I think.
Strike Freedom
Yea, Dynames was the one sniping form the ground. I really like how they intergrated a model of a sniper rifle inside the cockpit.

The one at the end that shot the big beam was Virtue (reminds of of Calamity and Buster from Seed). But yea, it is kinda overpowering but look at the size of that tihng. Is FAT! which means its prolly a slow one.

Operation Meteor vibes and all the sausages flying around. Really I dont know what else to say from the first ep. Not to mention Tietra's(totally raping his name lol) feminine features, just wow.
Athrun
Which one was Tietra again?

This guy?

Anyway I just watched Episode 2. It was pretty good. Have to watch it with subs later but the action was pretty nice.
Here's a clip with highlights from Epi 2.

I like how Kyrios can transform from plane to a Gundam, like Saviour. I knew it was cool. XD
And Dynames and Virtue kicked some ass too.
Exire
I always was interested in Gundam but there was so many series I thought it was impossible to choose. Easiest and cheapest to youtube the new one I guess. Never watched any Gundam before, so I guess I'll try it out to see how I like it. I'll buy the Gundam Wing DVD's when I can be arsed and have the cash. In the meantime hello Evangeleon. =p

well, most gundam characters have feminie features....kira....

and Tietra is the guy that pilots the Virtue
Eva
I watched episode one last week and don't have much of impression on the series yet since not much happen during the first episode except a lot of Gundam action. Though, the animation very impressive. I'm sure I'll be following this series once the plot presented in coming episodes and character development start. Though, that might not happen and this could become a one character anime like DESTINY, but let's hope that doesn't happen.

Hisashi Hirai's characters are pretty easy to distinguish when it comes to their genders unlike Yun Kouga's.
Exire
Ha, I'm pretty slow, seems some here already know the names of all the Gundam's. For awhile I thought the names were the pilots, not the Gundam's. Except for Exia, which is the main character's Gundam. Cool to get the connection from the flashback at the beginning of episode 1 to this episode. Anyway, the four Gundam's shown so far are all pretty cool. I like Exia and the one with the big sniper rifle thing the best. I like the character's in those Gundam's the best too. But that could change with coming episodes and hopefully learn a bit more about the characters...or at least for me to catch onto the names.
Noir
I have not seen this anywhere, links? My eyes bleed without Gundam.
FaytLeingod
im pretty sure that you can see this gundam series on youtube and/or on myspace. lol correct me if im wrong other people. i dotn remember where i saw it. im pretty sure i watched it on myspace video
Setsuna
Quite a few places are hosting the episodes now. PM me if you haven't found out yet.
I totally agree about the animation, the colours are astounding.

I'm a bit put off about Setsuna being 16 (don't really like child protagonists) but he has potential and Exia is pretty awesome.
Hm, Allelujah, can you say "Trowa"..?
Lockon is great, the total ladies man of the group and his fighting style is nice.
Tieria is just yaoi-bait.

Great storyline, fantastic music. Can't wait for more episodes. :-)
AnimePaul
12 episodes in and this new Gundam series doesn't seem to be pushing the series forward besides using current events as a back drop for conflicts.

So far the characters are very cliched because they are the same type of character archetypes I have seen before in past Gundam series or Anime in general. Setsuna reminds me of Heero Yuy, Lockon resembles Duo Maxwell, Tieria not sure who, but his strict personality isn't very interseting, and Allelujah/Hallelujah with the double personality is so cliched. The supporting characters are swept aside with no real character development besides Queen Marina Ismail who reminds me of Relena Peacecraft when she was queen.

The Gundams themselves I like a lot and I wonder if all of them have a separate mode like Gundam Nadleeh/Virtue.

The story seems very much like the end of Gundam Wing when they fight off both Earth and Space Colonies, but in Gundam 00 Celestial Being is fighting off three factions or organizations this time.

Of course the series isn't over yet so their is still room for improvement. Even with all these criticisms I'm still enjoying the series so far.

Tieria not sure who,

Rey Za Burrel perhaps. Had no problems shooting down Meyrin for example. Very just to the cause, rarely seems to smile, etc.

They don't seem fat enough for that but who knows. They made a really big deal of the separation mode for some reason. And I don't really understand how that made the Gundam so much better, but if they say so..
Anyway the animation is still top notch and the Gundams are pretty cool so that's something I enjoy. But the rest of the series is not that impressive. They're good enough to skim through at least, and I'll see how they turn out.

Yeah, your right which makes for a very uninteresting character.

Is it just me or is the characters a bit too feminine when compared to previous Gundam series. I know having feminine male characters in Anime isn't new, but the characters don't seem very unique that way.

Hmm, any more feminine than the ones in SEED? That's about the only Gundam series I've really watched, although I thought all of them looked a bit feminine in that one too. Although Tieria is a bit much. But at least there's that sniper guy and the Exia pilots old mentor.

Speaking of him, he reminds me of the villain from the first season of Full Metal Panic. In fact, Setsuna's background and relation to his mentor is similar to Sagara Sousuke's. Even down to him being a child fighter from an arab country.

Oh blonde guy wearing white somewhat reminds me of Azrael when it comes to his looks.
Athrun
Well I'm actually starting to like this Gundam series a lot now. I thought the last few episodes since epi 15 when they made the big operation to capture the gundams were really interesting, with the introduction of the three new Gundams. Especially this weeks episode 17, with how the Flag pilot beat one of the new Gundams, and Exia decided that the three new Gundams are a source of conflict. Especially how they attacked civilians, and the girl got injured.

Looking forward to the next episode now, which I haven't since the series started.
Silas09
Hmmm. I'm not sure if this is the place to "place' this but I have made a Gundam 00 RPG for anyone willing to RP along with the Gundam 00 series. Im sure some of you would be willing so here is the link.

And yea, actually it episode 18 that came out this week and I am completely in love with the series! smile.gif
Athrun
Oh yes, it was 18. My misstake.

And about these Trinity people, I think they might be impostors pretending to be part of Celestial Being, but are actually part of a different organisation who have access to Veda.
Then again.. maybe they really are part of Celestial Being, because the old professor said something about that Celestial Beings true objective wasn't world peace. So it's a bit confusing.

I think episode 18 is the best episode so far because everything comes full circle. We finally care about Saji and Louises story instead of it slowing down the entire plot. The end of the episode was a great in my opinion.

Even relatively unimportant characters in this series get pretty bad "scars" from the war.

Compare that to the negligible amount that Kira ended up with, when he lost to Shinn in GSD!

Gundam 00 for the win? wub.gif

All you really need to know is that there are huge robots that cause mass destruction and your set for the series.

Am I the only one on the forums who aren't interested in this series? I dunno, Setsuna just doesn't provide the right feel I like for in a main character, I'm sure he'll get better in the long run, but right now as far as I see it I'm not interested. Oh also. . . Feldt is hot love.

The recent episodes have been heartbreaking for me... so many casualties lately. sad.gif

That aside, I prefer so many characters besides Setsuna that this series did justice for not allowing the main characters hogging too much of screen time.

Compare this to the likes of Kira in the previous series. mad.gif

I have a feeling that Nena is going die by the end of the series since the director seems to be fine with killing off characters.

Well it seems to me that the new series look good. Animation was always a top notch at Gundam series, as I recall, but the look of these new series impressed me as hell. Gundam 00 is in a completely different universe then Seed and Destiny. 00 uses real world events as a back drop for many of the conflicts in the world. Gundam 00 is much more mature and serious then Seed or Destiny so less soap opera stuff.

I see. So when you say more mature and serious, I tend to believe that more death is present among the characters? You didn't stated but this lead me to believe that you guys obviously like the new Gundam, so thats itself answers my question weather I'll watch it or not. I guess love story is still present as always. How are the Mobile Suits? Because it is a different universe are the units called the same, Zaku is still the same for example? Just wanna ask that.
Servant Saber
No.

Practically everything is new, save for the concept of Gundams. Everything that isn't a Gundam looks like something from Armored Core or Full Metal Panic.

Insofar as Nena dying, probably not in this season. Perhaps in the second season, but I think the Trinity gang will be around for a bit longer. They seem to be the main antagonists to me.

Fllay also didn't wipe out a wedding party, so Nena is superior thus far.

I guess even the love story could be concidered different this time, in that it's no longer revolving around the main characters, but instead the supporting characters. But I like how it turned out. To be honest I really disliked it in the beginning because the girl seemed annoying, but this series has left a lot more room for all the charcters to develop properly than they did in Gundam SEED Destiny, where Kira ruined half the series with pointless spotlight hogging that took away from the real main characters that were acrually directly involved in the story, and some needed more development than they got. *coughShinncough*
But that's not the case with 00, and even the supporting characters grow on you because they're all invloved in the story, one way or another.
It was hard to see where the series was going in the beginning though. But now I'm liking it a lot.

Actually, I think it's because Sumeragi's breasts are taking up all the screen time that would otherwise be devoted to Kira.

I finally watched episode 21 and another great episode. It looks like Alejandra is going to be the main antagonist from now since he is the mastermind behind the collapse of Veda. He seems to have some type of grudge against Aeolia Schenberg and quite possibly infiltrated Celestial Being to take control of the Gundams and the world. It isn't as far fetched to predict that the Meisters and Trinity might team up to defeat those fake Gundams

Saji has got to have the worst luck ever first his girlfriend loses her family including her hand and his sister is murdered. It is sad and all, but how is he involved with the overall plot again?

There's been theories that he might either have a greater role in the future around the second season by either 1. Getting his own gundam to pilot (most far-fetched idea), or 2. He could possibly be related to Aeolia Schenberg, and might design something in the near future that would be good for the new Trio alliance of nations(less far-fetched, but still far-fetched). Still he provides a less bias view on the world around him, and is now just awakening to the sad reality that surrounds him, with the death of his sister and more importantly the rejection of the one whom he loves.
Servant Saber
Trinity teaming up with the main character's Gundams seems both likely and not.
If they do, they won't be easily trusted. If they don't, they may not last very long at all.

I don't see Saji getting a Gundam. A Gundam was responsible for what happened to Louise, so he's likely disgusted with them right now. The same goes for being a relative of Aeolia, since the research of him is what resulted in his sister's death. In a sense, being Aeolia's descendant would make him responsible.

I'm most interested in what's going to happen with Lockon, considering his injury might hinder his sight.

I agree with you that if Trinity and Mesiters team up that it would be a mutual agreement. Yeah, it would be ridiculous if Saji was able to pilot a Gundam even though it wouldn't be far fetched in the Gundam universe for a mere "civilian" to all of a sudden pilot a high tech Gundam, but I still wouldn't want that to happen.

Lockon's sacrifice will most likely shape Tiera's personality instead of being a complete drone that follows Veda's orders.

I'm also wondering if that fighter jet one of the crew members of Ptolomeis uses to help the Gundams is actually a GN Arms they were retrieving. It hasn't been revealed to us what the GN Arms are yet when it was mentioned in episode 20.
Servant Saber
I would imagine that is the GN Arms. It almost looks like a super-modified FLAG, based just on the design and what we've been able to see of it. On the note of new mecha, I like the mass-production GN's that Sorn and the others are using now.

From what I can tell the GN Arms may work like the Silhouette Packs that were used for the Impulse and Strike Gundam or the METEORS where it probably attaches to the Gundams to give them more power or extra weapons.
