Full Version: Jr. And MOMO

Sadistic Angel
Do you think Rubedo truly loves her?

Or is it all just fulfilling the promise he made to the girl he really loved?
Athrun
Well he hardly knew Momo, so I don't think he did that way. But perhaps he started caring about Momo as a different person later on.
Denim
It's plain weird for him to love her like a lover. She's not only underage, but not human (despite her weird ability to give birth and grow breasts which was just written in for fanfiction's sake, IMHO). I think he loves her like a sibling, the same way he feels about Nigredo and Albedo.
Exire
Well both of them are freaks in their own way. A URTV that got a severe version of an overdose of caffeine through the veins and a female Realian that actually has feelings. Still it would have been quite strange for it to be romantic since technically Jr. was older than even Gaignun was and the fact that MOMO was a female Realian stuck in the age of a 12 year old girl. While I agree with Denim for the most part I think in the Xenosaga world it would have been more shocking for a 'human' to fall in love with a realian than the whole underage bit. Anyone on the outside would think it was two young people with a crush. Then again, most can tell that she's a Realian (I think), different from Jr. where I highly doubt a URTV would be the first thing to pop up in someone's mind when looking at him.

Either way, I'd also say it was more of a sibling love than romantic. Jr. felt that he had to protect her and sort of acted from that throughout the series, though most notably in the first episode with all of that Albedo and Y-Data business. There was a bit of that in the second episode but just at the beginning (which ironically could make up perhaps 1/5 of the game).

They totally bone and have mutant babies.

Or sibblings.
Denim
Virgil fell in love with a Realian. What made it weird is that he ate Realians as revenge. Other than that, they were the sameish age, they looked the sameish age, and Febronia was basically a person with replaceable organs and emotions that could be turned off (as she could also give birth, being a transgenic model). Meh. It's still ##### up. But not as much as romantics between MOMO and Jr.
unknownassailant
im a firm believer that jr. does love momo as much as robots can love each other. that and the promise thing.
Demonwing
I think that they probably do. At first, Rubedo started looking out for MOMO as the promise to Sakura. Afterwards, he began to treat MOMO as though she was Sakura herself in a way, sorta like his feeling shifted. It's shown through some of the dialogs they have, and the end of Xenosaga 2 when Albedo is teasing him about MOMO before and during the battle for the most part.

I find it pretty cute =)
unknownassailant
that does further the idea of robot lovin'. it wasnt too long after he realized the promise he made, that he began taking a liking to her.
True Rune
They aren't exactly robots, but I won't say I know if they would be considered natural life either.
They loved each other, for that I am sure, but I don't think it was in the way of romantics, more of a really strong family like bond.

Best bet. Since she's written to be able to give birth, who else but Jr. to grow little baby peaches from MOMO? Though what kind of children they'd have is indeed a scary guess.
Denim
Well. Anyone on the Dummerung. Jr. went to Earth, and MOMO stayed back.
Xerno
Poor MOMO... but oh well, we all know Jr. went to Earth to reunite with his one and only true love: chaos! =P

Okay, maybe not. Still, the thought is less scary than MOMO with... anyone.
Distorted_Reality
I think he is just keeping his promise to Sakura and only cares about MOMO as a friend. The thought of anything more between them sickens me anyway.
