Reason why I only used only those guys is cause no one really talks about the ones i didnt mention.
I mean i played like FFIII and FFV before, and no one ever talks about THOSE FFs.

I reckon there should be a duo of main characters - Wedge and Biggs, kinda like the Simon Pegg and Nick Frost duo.

Anyway, my favourite would be, possibly Squall... not entirely sure about this.

Squall. I relate to him a lot. He has this whole "Life would be so much easier if I didn't care about any of you, but I do... Dammit." thing going on.

Vann. Because then I wouldn't actually have to be involved in any of the important plot parts in my game. I'd just get to be there, feeling bad about my brother, but ultimately choking and having to let <insert name> get vengence for me.

I would have to say Tidus because he's how I would be (besides the whole whiny thing...) If I was in his situtation, I woudl definately be like him.

Don't get me wrong, Cloud is a bad A to the max, and Zidanne is sweet because he has a tale... but I can relate to Tidus' persona the best.

Yeah... it's asked a lot. And no, not all the Cids are great... Don't even get me started on condom head from FFVI... however the ultimate Cid is from FFIV... no contest.

Anyway... favourite main character? I want to say Terra or Celes but FFVI hardly has a main character. Maaaan... if I had to choose... erm... well none of them are really that good... I don't know much about Firion, Cecil was ok but nothing special. Bartz was forgettable, Cloud and Squall were both annoyingly moody, Zidane was just plain annoying and had little redeeming features, Tidus wasn't much better and Vaan... well Vaan made little impact.

Honestly... I don't know. Errr... I guess Cloud... He had an oversized sword...

Terra, hands down.

Just because she wasn't all that much of a spotlight hog, and you lost her for a fair portion of the game to make time for the other characters to get some needed screentime. Just the fact that the whole idea of a main character in FFVI was so vague was what made it so good for me. Still, there's no denying that Terra is the leading lady.

I wanna say Balthier, considering he played more of a leading role in the story than Vaan did, but most people label him as a supporting character. Why him though? He had this charm, suave that you can't really explain. Maybe he might just be my new Captain Solo or something, but he's definitely an interesting character. Next to him would be either Cecil and Squall.

When it was said Main Character, I thought the main protagonist. If that was the case, I'd be in trouble because I haven't been terribly fond of any of them from the Final Fantasy series (Cloud, Squall, Zidane, Tidus, Vaan). Maybe I feel that every popular RPG has an overrated protagonist. Anyway, if I had to choose from those, it would be Squall since I could relate to him the most and he seemed to act the most honestly. Or was the least annoying anyway. Of any main character though, it would probably end up being Auron since he was the true quintessential badass.

My favorite main character out of all of the final fantasy games I have played yet far is by a landslide Auron. Auron plays a huge role in Final Fantasy X, a role I had cherished while playing. He portrays me in many ways being intelligent, silent, strong, and compassionate. I would get in to more depth but I would rather not ruin it for those who have not played Final Fantasy X.

Psh, FFX came out in what? 2002? Its been six years, we can break out the spoilers. Its like not saying the relationship between Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader for fears of those who haven't seen the movies yet. They've had plenty of time, too bad for them. XD

If you mean main character as in the character that you can't remove in any battles, then Squall.

If you mean main character as in plot wise, Vivi.

Zidane; I like his personality a lot, with him wanting to help out those who are in need of help. He also has sort of a playful attitude. And of course, he has a tail! So cute. <3

of course WAKKA was mad lol he made me laugh so much he is so dumb zidane was mad and i liked his ultimate weapon and tidus was another sick one

Squall and Balthier are two of my favorite main characters. Squall because of the story he was involved in, and Balthier because he was a good leading man, and his sarcastic comments always made me laugh.

i would agree with you.. i loved balthier and he did seem to have a more prominant role than vaan.

i guess i would say Cloud though.

Cloud to this day remains one of my favourite main RPG characters. I also liked Squall.

Non main characters have to be Vivi got to love the Orco lookalike even if some of you are too young to remember Masters Of The Universe. Barrett simply because I loved Mr T growing up enough said. Balthier is great too although unlike most people he doesn't remind me so much of Han Solo(other than the obvious references), as he does a Roger Moore character for example
