The way I see it and have always seen it is that these kids just look at the way we live and how inhumane and insensitive society can be and see themselves spiraling down our heirarchy with no future ahead of them no matter how intelligent they might be. And I know you're just wondering why they don't off themselves quietly and save us the tragic drama.
It's because no one ever ever ever remembers some kid that commits suicide unless he was a varsity football player with a college education ahead of him and the NFL following shortly after. And kids like these just want to strike back against the ordain structure that has tortured them their whole life.
...Yeah.
that doesn't make it any sense... if they were doing because of an inhumane and insensitive society, how does such an action strike out against it? If anything it would only be fueling it. If one that thought today's society spiraling into chaos, and truly hated it, then they wouldn't be shooting up a mall showing how inhumane its become, because thats only feeding the machine. Suicide is a cowards way out. So they can't deal with society? Why don't they try to change it? Because they're afraid. Instead of facing their challenges with courage and strength, they end up shooting innocent people. You can claim them to be part of a society thats cruel and lost, but the only thing more cruel is someone willing to rob someone elses life. Tortured them their whole life? I can see how losing a job at a McDonalds and breaking up with a girlfriend is torture. Lets not let the word get watered down after all. When I hear the word torture, thoughts like "Holocaust" and "Darfur" come to mind. But no, now that you've mentioned it, his torture is way worse.
The point here is, there is no way to see it. In no way is this action justified. If he was so worried about being a burden, or being worthless, then how does shooting a couple people make him any better? how does it fix any problems? He was just a pathetic coward
