Yeah, I mean, the anniversary of FF7 just passed from 10 years ago (which is one of the reasons I think Square said it did all the spinoffs), but the 20th anniversary is THIS year yes, dunno the exact date, but I think that's ALSO one of the reasons why they're making FFXIII a huge collection, it's in deciation to the 20 years it's been going on, that's why it's such an epic production.

20 years of FF jeez that stuff is as old as I am. Look how it's changed in 20 years. I think FF7 was pretty good for a 10th anniversary of FF in 1997. F**K it's been 10 years since we were first awed with FF7 that's amazing!!!!!!

wow it's really been that long, huh? the series sure has gone a long way...I wasn't old enough to remember the beginning...but I am old enough to have played the games before the "VII hype" so I can really look back and appreciate how far this series has gone.

Final Fantasy VII came out in 1997. That would seem to me to imply that there were six other Final Fantasies before Final Fantasy VII. I'm pretty sure that the first Final Fantasy came out 20 years ago, not 10.

As much as fanboys may wish otherwise, Final Fantasy VII is not the beginning of the series.

I thought FFVII came out in 1996. That's what my Demo disk says after the reactor blows up. So excuse me for trusting my demo disk, lol.

Your demo disk must have come out in 1996. My box for the actual game says 1997.

The game came out January 31, 1997 in Japan. So the 10 year anniversary would have been at the beginning of last year. In fact I believe I saw a few posters from the event. I'll upload them for you guys, if anyone is interested.

Yeah I think they were all wearing their original outfits. For some reason Cloud doesn't seem to be in any of the posters though, unless I happened to miss that one.

So was there anything special for Final Fantasy's 20th anniversary? As far as I can tell, the only thing to celebrate FFVII's 10 year anniversary was that FFVII potion was released <.< Forgive me for not getting too excited. Those CGI pictures are amazing, but most likely serve to make everyone scream "REMAKE" and ##### themselves silly.

Has anyone tried any of those potions?

FFVII was already redid(years ago) and it was only in japan.

If it will ever happen, it probably will not be on a console, but on the PSP.

You wanna show me proof of that fullscale remake of FFVII? I think it was obvious I was refering to the often discussed tech demo and its hopeful expansion into a full game. There definetely wasn't a remake and redid could mean anything, so I have no idea what you're refering to sorry. I don't mean small alterations in random battles or whatever though. :S

There's no remade FF VII, but there is an International version. It's exactly the same as the US version. The original Japanese version didn't have the two optional Weapon super bosses.

I may buy it if it makes it here, just for the sake of the pretty printed CDs (Sephiroth! <3) and playing (well... attempting, at least, if I don't laugh to death) it on my PS3. But I spotted something on Wikipedia (should hopefully be factual), though I don't know how many would care to know.

No matter how I look at this, it's disappointing, to say the least. (In time, I'm sure you'll be able to simply print out and apply the pretty labels yourself, anyway.)

Since Selly mentioned CC, I checked it out on Amazon, which also seems to have it marked for a March 25th release in the US. (Crisis Core @ Amazon) $40 on release? Sounds nice. New box art, as well.
(They've also got XIII and Versus XIII both marked for December 1st '08 releases.)

The only reason I’d buy the reprint is because I accidentally bought a PAL version in the first place, therefore would get this just so I could actually play the game. Otherwise I’d have to go on eBay and I don’t feel like doing that at the moment. That and the discs are all fancy-shmancy =).
