Well its all thanks to my obession
I got it on PSP, I think it has bonus content, not sure but I'm still playing Tales of The World currently
In other news a epic figurine is coming to my home soon

Haha, awesome, I'll probably play ToW after this, but I've been pretty much sucked into ToE now, so it might be awhile XD What figurine would that be?

ToE was the deciding factor for me buying a PSP (i seem to say that a lot about Tales games - ToS getting me into console RPGs, TotA for finally getting a PS2!) and for me it was money well spent.
Oh wow, ToS was your first console rpg? Thats an excellent place to start man, such a good game, I basically bought my GC for it and twin snakes. On the topic of TotA, I think its pretty much definetely at this point I'll do the swap magic thing, just when haha. I need Abyss and Legendia. Did Rebirth get out of Japan?

Tales games - ToS getting me into console RPGs, TotA for finally getting a PS2!) and for me it was money well spent. Its been a while since I finished it so I can't remember everything but I do remember the first few battles being ridiculously difficult, I think there may be a few points in the game that'll punish you if you've not kept your levels up. It was definitely a step up from ToS though that might have been because your limited to 3 character instead of 4.
Haha, yea, definetely. I've managed to get on top of things with my levels, but it was pretty difficult. I basically just ran round in circles outside the village for awhile, and when someone ghot ko'ed, I ran to Reid's house and cured haha. Seemed to work XD I think the thing asbout having to level grind in the tales games though, its such a fun battle system, so it isn't a chore like other games. My thoughts for Grandia too <3

The story line is strong point in this one and its a pretty large game with some pretty decent dungeons. The characters weren't as strong in this one as they were in the other titles, I stuck to the four main characters throughout and only used the others just for the sake of using them not for any particular want or need (like presea/sheena in ToS)
Yea, the story seems pretty good. Its kicked off in typical tales fashion, but it seems very intreguing as I said, and its the first rpg I've played in while where I've been very compelled to continue on. I'm only on my way to the observatory right now, since I did a bunch of levelling, and then spent plenty of time doing the very fun exploring of Minche - the town designs are beautiful. + sheen = great character, bad bad skills.

Really enjoyed the Craymel system in this - (the ToE equivalent of summon spirits) - combining them for new skills and the likes. This will become very important for you fairly quickly as how you combine them will seriously affect what your capable of in terms of attack power and healing, much of the time you'll find yourself trying to locate the right trade off between the two - you'll know what I'm on about once you get further in.
As I said, I'm still pretty near the beginning, but I look forward to the Craymel stuff, I like how they've made the Craymels an intricate part of the worlds mythology (read all the books in the university library and whatnot XD).

There was a bit of bonus material for the PSP but I dont think it was that much so you wont be missing anything - there may have been a new cut scene added to the ending, but even with that it was frustrating as most tales endings are. Have you got voice overs on the PS version? These were included in the PSP version.
Ah well I'm not too bothered. If I end up liking this as much as I liked ToS (which I get the feeling I will), I'll probably pick it up on psp as well, just for the hell of it. I'm in a big game buying phase right now anyway XD And yea, there is voice acting, which I'm suprised about, since its quite an old game. Even alot of the bigger series weren't doing voice acting at that point yet, although I think the original Grandia had it too.

In terms of graphics I actually liked the overall style of the dungeons and towns, though again their may have been a bit of a touch up for the PSP so I can't really comment fairly on how well the game's held up .
I was very impressed by Minche and the scope of it - even my room-mate commented on the amount of people bustling around in the town, for such an old game (relatively). I can't wait to see the other areas.

There are a couple of decent mini-games in this one as usual, Whis being the perfect example, if you find card games addictive in the slightest then avoid this one like the plague. Simple, easy to learn and completely unforgiving.
Well, well, I just hope I don't ever have to do the raft mini-game thing again >_< I honestly sucked so bad, thank god you don't fall off or anything, or I may have been stuck haha.
WEll ,thanks for all the feedback guys, I'll report more as I get further. I'm pretty ill right now though, so my posting and gameplaying may be slower than usual >_<
