I am curious to know how many Final Fantasy games those of you that take part in this discussion have beaten. I am not sure if a topic like this has been created before but I have went over the last five pages and haven't seen a topic that resembles this one. If there is one I may not be aware of, feel free to delete this topic. wink.gif

I have mastered the following:
Final Fantasy I
Final Fantasy II
Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy VII: DoC
Final Fantasy IX (<3)
Final Fantasy X (<3)
Final Fantasy X-2
Final Fantasy XII

I feel in love with them all equally but the epic storylines of VII, IX and X really drew me in. Every now and then I get the feeling of playing through one of the three again. blush.gif
I own Final Fantasy IV, V, VI and VIII but have not yet started them.
Xerno
I have played and beaten:

FFV (meh)
FFVI (<3)
FFVII (average)
FFVIII (<3)
FFIX (good)
FFX (good)
FFXII (average)

Oh, and FF Tactics too, if that counts.

- Final Fantasy x-2

And I think that's it. o__x;;; I couldn't be arsed to bother with xii LOLS. <:D
Noir
VII, VIII, X, XII.
Dragon Brigade
I've played half of IX (dropped because I didn't like), a few hours of VII (stopped because the copy I was borrowing decided to not work anymore), and own FFXII but haven't started it yet. So I haven't beaten any of them, nor have I played many...
Athrun
Final Fantasy VI
Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy VIII
Final Fantasy IX
Final Fantasy X
Final Fantasy X-2
Final Fantasy Tactics

I haven't finished FF XII, and I'm not sure if I ever will. I liked most of the FF games I played, although my favorite is FF8.
AlliedG
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles
Final Fantasy Mystic Quest
Final Fantasy V (original)
Final Fantasy VI (original)
Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy VIII
Final Fantasy IX
Final Fantasy X
Final Fantasy X-2
FF XII
Final Fantasy Tactics (War of the Lions)

To be honest there all easy games, especially in regards to combat systems as you just end up pressing attack/quick hit command constantly, heck in FF XII you just automate the entire process. I'm one of those grinders who levels up until he can kill any monsters in a particular area in 1-2 blows.

A classic example is evare in FFX when I was doing around 4000 damage by then because I trained in al bhed home until level 3 locks blocked my progression path. Thus I killed it after it took in a breath for its poison attack I believe.

In regards to Crystal Chronicles I did that as a solo experience, it is very much a fetch quest kinda game with many dungeons, the story is very minimal. I just remember crafting good equipment and some boring bosses.
Chalryn
FFI, FFIV, FFVII, FFVIII, FFIX, FFX, and FFTactics (though only a GameShark file). Oh, and Mystic Quest, if you wanna include that, haha.

FFVI I could most likely beat whenever I want to now. Just haven't gotten around to it. Party's sitting around on the world map, leveling.
FFXII I'm damn near done with, and I'm rather confident I could finish. Finished the Pharos; just have to head off to the Bahamut. (Keeping myself busy with other things, like marks.)
AlliedG
Just wanted to say I think "beaten" means complete main story with no direct cheating i.e cheat cartridges tongue.gif but a varied selection you have there sir which I assumed your finished by good old fashioned "grinding" wink.gif (oh in regards to my ff tactics I'm level 83 lol)

Oh in regards to Mystic Quest, I played it on a ROM, was a interesting diversion, also has FF 12 elements (no random encounters!)

Mushroom
Uhhh, I, II, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, X-2, XII, TA, Crystal Chronicles, a bunch of the obscure gameboy ones like mystic quest and final fantasy adventure - didn't find Mystic quest all that interesting to be honest though. I've of course playing the original Tactics but never finished it alas. My flatmate has it on PSP though, so I'm gonna do it when I get round to it. Can't really think if there's any others though. I'm going to pick up III soon though to be a l1t3 c0mpl3t1st. I was actually going to ge tit today but I went for Children and Heroes of mana instead.
Apple_Juice
beaten:

FFVII (good)
FFIX (good)
FFX (favorite game)

still playing:

FFVI
FFXII

played and didnt touch again:

FFVIII
Wandering Aesthetic
I've beaten:

I
II
IV
V
VI
VII
VIII
IX
X
X-2
XII

I'm working on III, and I've been playing Tactics on and off for the last, oh... six years? At this rate I might beat it before I die. I love them all, with the possible exceptions of X-2 and XII.
Flame
IV, VII, VIII, IX, X and X-2. I've gotten to the final dungeon in FFV and FFVI but for some reason I never actually went on and finished the game. It's really stupid especially because in FFVI I'm levelled well and ready. The only FF game that I've never played is Tactics...
Eva
Final Fantasy Tactics (PS and PSP)
Final Fantasy IV (PS)
Final Fantasy V (PS)
Final Fantasy VI (SNES and PS)
Final Fantasy VII (PS)
Final Fantasy VIII (PS)
Final Fantasy IX (PS)
Final Fantasy X (PS2)

I haven't finished Final Fantasy XII.

I bought Final Fantasy X-2 years ago, but barely even start playing the game.

I have Final Fantasy III for the PSP. I might get around to playing that game and defeating that game.
Wein Cruz
I've beaten:

Final Fantasy I
Final Fantasy VI
Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy IX
Final Fantasy Tactics
Final Fantasy X

I've played Final Fantasy XII, but only made it about halfway through. I'm considering playing it again eventually. I didn't get very far in Final Fantasy VIII or X-2 before calling it quits on them both, but I'm considering re-purchasing FF8 in the future.
Lost Seraphim
All but III and XII pretty much. Tactics and Tactics Advance included.
LunarMaster
I finished:

I
II
IV
VII
VIII
IX
X
Tactics

I have III, but haven't gotten around to finishing it. I played VI a few times, but was never able to play it through to the end (I made it up to the opera scene twise). Played V for like 2 hours(same goes for XII, X-2 and Tactics Advance). Tried XI for about a month before I got bored of it. I plan on finishing most of them eventually, but this is my finished list so far.
YourSweet666

IV
V

VII
VIII

X-2

Tactics
Tactics Advance
Crystal Chronicles

I can tell XII and X-2 are not that popular among a few. I did not like XII at first being the storyline sucked and it just wasn't the same as the other Final Fantasy games. Then after a while I got in to the hunts and collecting the massive amount of time taking hard to attain weapons like the Tournesol, etc.

On the other hand, X-2 I had no problem with at first. I enjoyed how quickly most of the battles went by. The battle system was quite interesting. I didn't enjoy the story all that well with Vegnagun, Lenne, and Shuyin. I can barely remember a thing about them. Besides those factors in the storyline basically, I got the hang of both games.

I have been thinking about purchasing either a PSP or DS but can not decide between the two for a while now. The DS having FF I and II (GBA) and FF III (DS) and then there is the PSP with I and II also with War of Lions and with the soon to come out Crisis Core and Dissidia. Once I get my debt card in the mail I shall be buying FFVIII happy.gif I continue to get good reviews on that game. And although this paragraph is off topic, could someone who has beaten FF VI answer this question for me please? How much does the storyline resemble VII's?
Pesmerga
I (classic)
II (nice game)
III (rom)
IV (decent game)
V (ok game)
VI (awesome)
VII (average)
VIII (great game)
IX (best one)
X (good game)
X-2 (complete piece of crap)
XII (halfway somewhere)

And I am not a Final Fantasy fan.

Pesmerga
It was unofficial translation and played it quite some while ago, I googled it back in the days.

The story is completely different and the number of summons (espers) is far more diverse. Also more characters and a interesting ending.

The most similiar thing is probably ATB and menu but in turns of learning skills you gain them I believe by junctioning the espers. (ages since I played it)

I think six selling point, is how the entire plot doesn't just focus on one character (I guess you could argue Locke, Terra, possibly main characters) but every character has a interesting story to tell.

Also there are limit breaks (low hp status) but very rare occurence.

I am kinda sad though that in the remakes the removed the vanish/doom glitch (in FF6 you could instantly kill most enemies using this trick)

I thought that the characters that recieved the most focus in the game were Terra and Celes. Perhaps Sabin as well. (Or maybe it was just that I used him a lot.) Locke was more of a starting character for me. He is ssort of a posterboy for FF6, and a face associated with the game as much as Terra and Celse, but why that is, I don't know.

The game's story is pretty different from FFVII, and there's not as much character development as the trend became later on PS1. But there's enough to make the game enjoyable. Although having so many main characters made the focus more spread out than normally.

I generally agree here, since I fell in with it by the time I reached Boris on Gagazet. Both IX and X-2 will always be moments in the series that I admire for what they respectively provided. I actually had alot of fun grinding in X-2 though. Every time I got a new Dressphere I'd spend quite awhile messing around with it and seeing what each ability led to. It made alot of its obvious flaws forgivable for me.

Ya, I've beaten 7,8,9,X,X-2 (unfourtnately) 12, FFT, FFTA. I've played all the ones before it, just not beaten them.

6- good rom

Crimson Cloud
I ''passed'' these games:

Final Fantasy I (Well it was not my first but I went back to finish it. It's a damn classic) - good
Final Fantasy II - not bad
Final Fantasy VII (My first FF game and I loved it. As a game, it's right after FF VIII) - great
Final Fantasy VIII (I could play over and over again. It's not that story pushes me forward in this game, the characters and overall atmosphere does) - outstanding
Final Fantasy IX - not bad
Final Fantasy X - good
Final Fantasy X-2 (Er...girl power? Not bad I guess, but I couldn't play it twice) - fair
Final Fantasy XII (Greatest to some people but worse for me. I just can't make myself to play this game, it's too boring for me) - bad
Final Fantasy Tactics - great
Xanadu
Let's see.

Final Fantasy...

VII
VIII
IX
X
X-2
XII

If there was ever a record for the most times beaten and replayed for a video game, I'd hold it, and it'd be for FF7.

Had FF6, unbeaten
Have FFT, unbeaten
FF7 is a given
FF8 lots of times
FF9 once and replayed only once.
FFX once with like 10 saves in different areas
FFX-2 three times.

Sticking to what I said 2 years ago - I'm done with FF and not buying anymore of its games.
Oldschoolgamer298

final fantasy mystic quest (primitive starters rpg)

final fantasy 4 (amazing game)

final fantasy 5 (flawed in many ways but i cant say i loathed it)

final fantasy 6 (amazing game)

final fantasy 7 (a departure from the final fantasy mold while still holding to many staples of the series and it worked and its amazing)

final fantasy tactics (amazing strategy rpg that belongs in any true gamers arsenal)

final fantasy 8 (a bit of a soap opera but still a great game)

final fantasy 9 (weak linear beginning followed but pointless endgame boss...utter disgrace)

final fantasy 10 (extremely easy game with a mildly entertaining plot.....insulting to any true gamer)

final fantasy 10-2 (if my extreme hatred of this game comes to a shock to you then stop calling yourself a gamer it was final fantasy dress up)

final fantasy 11 (an online rpg that failed to impress)

final fantasy 12 (an exciting beginning with promise followed by a second half that killed my remaining hopes of salvation for this series)

our hopes and dreams are in the hands of mistwalker now my friends

FFI never beat.
FFII sucked never beat.
FFIV was alright.
FFV was kickass.
FFVI hype justifiable.
FFVII overhyped but not terrible.
FFVIII is okay at best.
FFIX great.
FFX fun.
FFX-2 fun, if skip cutscenes.
FFXII fun, but pacing is #####.
Markies
Final Fantasy I (Classi, but hard as hell. Working on the second time.)
Final Fantasy II (Innovative. Once.)
Final Fantasy IV (Classic & Seemless. Twice.)
Final Fantasy V (Great new job classes, but very hard. Once.)
Final Fantasy VI (Classic in every sense. Twice.)
Final Fantasy IX (Under-rated. Once)
Final Fantasy X (Favorite of the series. Favorite of all time. Either 6 or 7.)
