It's official, as some of you may already know. Over here in the UK I know it's due to be released May 22nd of this year. Dates could vary worldwide. I'm so excited for this, and I haven't been waiting as long as some others, as The Last Crusade was released 4 years before I was even born! Haha. But I'm still a big fan of the movies, I can't wait for this one. And I do beleive Harrison Ford is resuming his role as Indiana Jones, though I don't think Sean Connery will be in this one.
Your thoughts people?

No one see this yet?
As much as it didn't really feel like the Indiana Jones movies of old, I still liked it. It was a nice little adventure movie that kept me entertained but it definitely has some problems.
-TOO MUCH CGI. Spielberg is a ##### liar when he said that they would keep it to a minimum. And alot of it was used on pointless stuff (monkies).
-Villians never really seemed like a threat.
-Some other plot stuff that I won't post as to not spoil anything.
Basically this movie is nowhere near the awesomeness of Raiders, but then again the success of that movie was once in a lifetime and probably won't be surpassed again. But I definitely think this movie is better than Temple of Doom.

I personally think Raiders is the weakest of the original trilogy, while Temple of Doom is my favorite one. =x So if it's better than Temple of Doom, I should really like the 4th one. xD Sadly, I'll have to wait till it's out on DVD, since I can't go see it in the cinema. I hope it won't take too long for the DVD release, I want to see this very much.

It's all a matter of preference I suppose. I liked Raiders and the Last Crusade moreso than Temple of Doom. People are spitting alot of venom at this movie but it really isn't that bad of a movie. I guarantee if you go to it without any premeditated judgments then you won't have a bad time at the movies.

you know the story was good enough, the acting was good and the script was good, but why does every movie feel the need to drown all of that up in a sea of special effects. I mean you could barely get into the movie without some special effects stunt that was so fake and inconceivable that you just sat there saying "i call BS"... I just wish movies would worry more about plot and story then they would about whose cock was bigger and who could pull the best stunt...

How are aliens any more farfetched than the power of God coming out of a box and melting faces?

I would definitely not call the script good.
"I need to return it."
"Why?"
"Because it told me to."
Is not good writing.
CGI was way overdone, Shia LaBouf is a bad actor, editing was adequate to bad (there were cuts where I wondered if they forgot to put a scene in), and a lot of the awesomeness from the original films is gone because just about everything they do involves CGI to make the stunt seem...easier I guess. Finally, while the plot is not farfetched for an Indiana Jones film, I really don't like the idea of the adventure theme turning into a sci-fi kind of theme (which it did, at least for me). This complaint I blame on George Lucas and his inability to come up with a good story anymore.
Now you have to remember that I love the original Indy trilogy, but I really thought this movie was bad, and I think I'lll just pretend that I never saw it so as to not put a scratch on an otherwise solid series.

aliens being so weird, was because they'd done the whole god thing, and now go back and say, oops, oh no, wrong.

Shia LaBouf is a bad actor
Shia is ##### terrible in big-budget movies that SHOULD require just a tinsy bit of ##### TALENT! He ##### sucked in 'Transformers' and 'Disturbia'. The only movies that I liked him in were those kiddie Disney flicks like 'Holes'. He was a cute child actor, but now he's grown-up and seems like he's succombing to the washed-up child-star career like Macolley Culkin.
#####, if I was getting paid six-figures for a movie like Indie Jones, I could put on a better ##### performance than that.
Indie is old just like Harrison Ford. I say this to anyone that thinks the new Indie still has it up there with Raiders and Last Crusade: If Lucas made a new 'Star Wars' flick with Mark Hamill and Carrie Fischer NOW, would be it be has ##### exciting as the originals? You can throw as many ##### CG effects as you want into a movie, but when the lead actor(s) are decripid and tired, the film will have no energy or spunk.
Indie should stayed in the ##### vault. I'm waiting for 'Dark Knight'.

This is an Indiana Jones movie. These movies are about securing random mythical artifacts from nazis (or commies) before their mythical powers are used for the sake of evil. They're clearly designed to follow logical and realistic plot that makes you think about life and how to live it, and not just for the sake of throwing random stuff that looks awesome so Harrison Ford can shoot it/whip it/escape it.
Wait a minute.
Yeah.
The movie is awesome. Killer ants, greasers and socs, random aztec/maya/inca tribes hiding in tight spaces for dozens of years, carchase/sword fight. I think people need to judge movies based on better criteria than plot, script and acting. Rather, they need a tree.
Give me a moment.
I was going to make a chart in paint, but you know what? That takes an awful lot of planning.
Basically, like this:
Did it have explosions?
Yes.
Were they awesome?
Yes.
Did it have a car chase?
Yes.
Was it awesome?
Yes.
Did it have a swordfight?
During the carchase over two cars.
Awesome.
Did it have references to The Outsiders?
Yes.
Made of Win.
Honestly, what else would you want? Have you ever tried to make a group of small monkeys act organized? or ants? fact is, these days if you want to do something like that, and make it look at least halfway convincing you need CGI. But you know what? It needed the ghost of Sean Connery to appear to Indy.
Also, Disturbia was good if you haven't seen a million Back Window tributes homages rip offs, are half way blind so that Shia LaBouff's face isn't quite bothersome, and you're as hard to scare as a bunny rabbit... I mean, did it have carchases, explosions, swordfights, suspense, originality, acting, eloquent script, you know... anything? I mean, if you don't have the first half you better friggin' have the second half with the acting and etc. and it didn't. Disturbia isn't even good like a Sci Fi Original is good (which in itself is being as good as Plan 9 from Outer Space) it's just an exercise in mediocrity. But I suppose mediocrity isn't bad. Which would imply that it's good.

Well first off, I liked Shia in Transformers, he was that cute, corny kind of funny. It made me 'lol'.
Still firmly believing that the Indiana Trilogy should've stayed exactly that, a Trilogy. But I suppose since they had the money, the spare time and Harrison Ford, why not? I'm nervous to watch this, I'll try to douse my expectations.

These are pretty much my sentiments as well, I think it was pretty good and stayed true to the Indy series. As for the "treasure" itself, it could have been better, but I liked it nevertheless.

I enjoyed it quite a bit, and the aliens bit is just a little... yeah, but overall I felt it was quite like one of the old ones that I used to watch when I was a child (with VCR tapes). Denim basically covered what I wanted to say.
I hated the ants part. Ants make my skin crawl.
You guys are picky. >.<
PS. Saw this question in a discussion of this movie on another forum that had me LMAO. You sorta need to have some knowledge about the Warcraft III mod, Defense of the Ancients, to get the joke.

I would've let it slide if they just talked about aliens and the skull and so on. I mean, the other plots in earlier Indy films were pretty ridiculous too with the Holy Grail and so on......but....
....did they
really have to CG the UFO and the aliens and blowing up Kate Blanchett? That went way too far. @_@
