Interview/behind the scenes includes footages of the movie.

I'm sure SOME of you have heard about this. A higurashi live-action movie is set to be released during the Japanese Golden week (end of April this year) and from what I've seen of the trailers and interviews, the movie looks like it will deliver.

The movie is supposed cover the watanagashi arc of the anime.

Alot of critism has already been given by online fans and a petition is currently out to stop the movie from being released as well (wtf? - like a petition is ever going to stop a movie from being produced). The characters don't quite seem to look the part, especially Rika looking way older than she should be, but it's kind of hard to judge from looks alone...

Ryuukishi07 is said to be working closely with the production to make sure things don't go too far wrong with the movie. Japanese film industry do pretty well in making horror movies so this might actually be decent compared to the other anime - turned - live-action movies.

I might check this Live Action movie out. While Higurashi is one of my favorite animes, I have never bother watching a Live Action movie based on an anime before. I do not hate the idea of a Live Action movie based off an anime, I am just not all that interested. Though, if the movie based off the Watanagashi arc, it should be interesting to see how the Watanagashi arc in live action.

Isn't the guy on the far left of the second picture Tomitake?

Y'know? When I first heard about this, I thought it was a rumour. But it sounds kind of interesting. 8]
