Full Version: Suikoden Character Battle!
RPG Dreamers Forums > Video Games > Popular RPG Series > Suikoden Series
Sigs Minock
Alrighty, let's see if we can bring two things back to this forum; 1> LIFE (it's been pretty quiet), 2> creativity.

so with no further ado: Suikoden Character Battle
Rules:
1> Character can't fight themselves. That said, no S1 Flik vs S2 Flik. But S1 Viktor can fight S3 Edge, though- the Dragon Star Sword can sit out. tongue.gif however, Sibling Rivalries are acceptable!
2> Match up with similar styles. What I mean is keep the fighting styles similar, but you can mix/match fighters. Swords vs axes, archers vs tossers [chakrum, throwing knives, cards, etc], martial artists vs spearmen... the only problem would be Rune Masters, they can only fight themselves. We want even matched fights, how long would Morgan (the blind fight from S2) last against Sharmista (Tosser/mage from S5)?
3> Zoo Rules! no Man vs Beast match up. How long would Genoh (giant turtle in S5) last again Grenseal (knight from S1])? Futch wouldn't fight Bright, so don't bother. Beast vs Beast only. [[Special clarification: a "Beast" is a star that takes up TWO slots. Kinnison's wolf Shiro isn't a Beast, due to his taking up one slot. the S5 beavers & DoReMi Elves, S2 Squirrels- not Beasts. You figure out the rest.]]
4> Bathroom Ettiquette. wtf? Alrighty, NPC can't fight playable characters. nothing about NPC's fighting NPC's. biggrin.gif though, those fights would be kinda dumb- except maybe the various cooks you get- but they'd have a Cooking Duel!!!
5> Where's the Knock-out?! don't just say who won. give atleast a couple sentences to why they win. and no "Because he's awesome!" 'explanations.'
6> Naptime... choose different characters for fights. give atleast three rounds between reusing characters. [this includes character from seperate games. If Viktor of S1 fights, Viktor of S2 can't fight in his own stead. tongue.gif]
7> Who/When/Why... if in case of Multiple appearances, give the game you taking them from. Lorelai, Jeane, Viki, among others are a few who've been in more than 2 games. regardless, say what game the character is from. I personally haven't played S4 or S-Tactics. so i wouldn't know them from any other character.

Round 1> Belcoot (S5) vs Miklotov (S2)

Okay, hopefully this'll last a bit...
Nash
Blame Konami and their refusal to publish Suikoden VI for the eerie silence around this region of the board. dry.gif

Well, I'm not too sure how to go about doing this, but here's an attempt:

Belcoot vs Miklotov?

I say Miklotov. Mainly because after the wonders that is Kika, Belcoot was a total letdown as a Falcon style user. He seems to have done well for many people for his otherwise excellent prowess as a sword fighter, but still he was easily outclassed by other supposedly less popular Technique runes, like Yahr or Nikea.

I would vote for anyone who goes against Belcoot, so I don't have much to say about Miklotov. tongue.gif

I forgot to mention that you post the next round. tongue.gif but that's a good 'explanation.'

so, next time- pit two characters against each other...

Round 2
Mazus (S2) vs Levi (S5)
(Bergen wants craazy magic, he's gonna get craazy magic!)
Pesmerga
This one is quite simple, as Mazus will win this one. So far he is the only one that can match Crowley in magical strength, as well as being the second mage having "resurrected" himself.
Levi hasn't shown his strength in the game, all he has is his knownledge, which is phenomonal, but unfortunatly not something you're going to beat Mazus with, as he is used to fighting Crowley.

Mine:

Richard (SV) vs. Vincent (SII)
Bloo
Richard, simply because he is as entitled one of the swords man in Lindwurm Mercenary Brigade, though he is laid back and lazy but Vincent would most probably lose due to the facts that he likes to avoid peasants and Richard looks like one. Not to mention Richard had way overpowering weapon strength then vincent.

Round 4

Sigfried(SII) V.S. Feather(SII)

Lance.
Sigs Minock
Feather.
Why? She's a Griffin, Seigfried's a unicorn. Griffins fly and have talons... thus: divebombing suicide run. all Seigfried has is a horn. tongue.gif

next up:
Lucretia (S5) and Shu (S2) play a game of chess that makes Bobby Fisher's matches look like kids playing tic-tac-toe.

This post is not to reply his battle.

But Sigfried has the White Saint Rune and can zap Feather with lightning =p Lol, anyways, its all a matter of perspective I suppose =p

Lance.
Rubedo
I know a good one where both are equally matched and using the same unique training too. But it will be a just a duel, exactly like Elza's but without the other gun being unloaded.

Clive (S2) vs. Cathari (S5)
Nash
I don't recall Clive having a unique rune, so Cathari automatically wins. I thought it was strange for them to combine two running character gimmicks into a single character, but whatever. (True Holy Dash Rune + Howling Voice gun!)

The unsung heroes of the Earth rune: Hellion (S1) vs Pablo (S4)
Pesmerga
I don't know what you guys are doing, but someone kinda missed the whole point of the topic.
So, that means:

Shu vs. Lucretia

In my eyes Shu wins. Many people consider Shu to be an overrated tactician, along with Mathiu, but I say the complete opposite.
I find Lucretia to be overrated. It is ridiculous that she could tell the prince would visit her in her room, as well as exactly what was going to happen at the same time, while she was locked up and forgotten.
I am sorry, but she is a tactician, not a seer.

Shu showes what a real tactician is. Losing and winning, learning from mistakes, admitting you aren't strong enough and taking extra measures, doing risky things.
Shu betted on his life when he was fighting Leon Silverburg, because he knew that Leon is a superior tactician.
In my eyes, Shu wins this one, because Lucretia has god mod on and cheats are lame. It is simply outrageous how you never lost a battle, or how she was aware of everything. She made me feel that she was the leader and had all these schemes going on behind me, without telling me. She was planning behind my back and sorry to break your heart Lucretia, but I didn't recall you being the leader of the rebel army.
Shu wins, for being a tactician, Lucretia loses for not being a tactician, but a scheming biatch with magical "Iknowwhathappensintheworld" powers.

Time for some axe users:

Gremio (SI) vs. Varkas (SI)
LagunaWannabe
Gremio. One of the most underrated characters in the Suikoden world.

Next:

Alber Silverberg (S3) vs Caesar Silverberg (S3)
Sigs Minock
Cesar. That dopey grin of his will throw you off, and he probably has more a tactical, if not methodical approach to his victories... Albert just pushed for power with no real methodology behind them.

Landis (S3) vs Sid (S2)- battle of creepy winged guys...
Voyou San
for me i think Sid edges out Landis simply because i believe Sid had a bit more power behind his attacks and landis was one lazy bastid wink.gif

Watari (S3) vs. Kasumi (S1) ... Battle of the Ninjas
Sigs Minock
Kasumi... Watari was too bland for a ninja. forget that i had to fork over 10,000 potch to recruit him. [Kane in S1 cost me as much, and i think he was better.]

Nanami (S2) vs Lyon (S5)... battle of the overprotective sister figure!
