After watching one of the trailers for this game, Army of Two, on the official website, the whole story has been reveals which totaly destroys the point of even playing and most of all makes the trailer a complete failure when it comes to making you want more. Putting that aside, the game is centered around 9|11 and the war on Terrorism in the middle east.

SPOILER
In the video Elliot Salem, one of the members from the "Army of Two" is waken up by a phonecall after the towers are struck. You see the towers burning on the news channel on the TV in the background ultimately centering the game around the terrorist attack 9|11.

The Social and Strategy Corporation which is a private military corporation tells the public that a secret military is the future of the military. While telling the public that they are hunting down the people responsible for the war in the middle east, the SSC's Army of Two is really just fueling the war so that people will buy SSC's stock and give them money thinking that they are really trying to stop it.

The SSC backstabs the Army of Two and a contract is put out on them for "Murder". Im assuming that in the end, the Army of Two as well as the woman who keeps communication with them take down the SSC after being backstabbed, but that is just an assumption. This is all ive gathered just by watching trailers, which is actually a huge piece of the Storyboard I would assume, which isnt good for their advertising.

/SPOILER

Everyone and their mother has a copy of this game. My whole active friendslist on XBL is currently playing this game and ever local store is sold out. Im currently at my dads house, and I zoned the local GameStops around here and they all apparently have coppies. I plan on making some calls tomorrow to see who really has copies and picking this game up.

If anyone is interested, this game features online Co-Op as well as 2v2 multiplayer gametypes. Ill most likely be hooked on this game for a while, but not for long considering most of the story is ruined just by their retarded advertisements. As far as 2v2 goes, could be good but it could also be bad. We'll see how multiplayer goes tomorrow evening.

Thoughts on this game anyone?
The Evil Dead
The game looks like mediocre #####.

Yeah, it's fairly mediocre. The only reason I love it is the weapon customization (which, I will admit, isn't even all that extensive), and the fact that I can co-op it with a friend of mine. It more or less feels like a repainted Gears of War, with weapon customization.

However, I love the game, because what it does, it does pretty damn well. I'm not sure how it stacks up to the GoW multiplayer, but the campaign mode is pretty fun.

The Aggro meter idea is pulled off pretty well, one person can be taking all of the fire in a firefight, while another sneaks around and melees the enemies. It's a good idea, though I guess some people dislike the fact that the person holding the aggro is flashing red.

Unfortunately, the game is pretty short, it comes in at only 6 missions, and each one can be beaten in about an hour. If you re-do a mission, it can take as short a time as half an hour.

And again, it feels like a reskinned Gears of War.

I like the game though, it pulls off what it does nicely.
The Evil Dead
It's just funny. They promote the hell out of this with #### commercials, and before you know it all the kiddies have it and it's nothing more than the pillar of mediocrity. What a generation we live in. Games like this would have been dismissed back in the day.

You're exactly right. It is almost an exact spin-off of GoW. The fact that you can actually tell your AI parter what to do is nice, though. You pretty much summed it up with that fact that it truly is a "repainted" GoW. Not only that, but the game sinks to the point of an almost complete rip off with the "dong" sound after you clear the area like GoW has. The sound isnt exactly the same but it still pisses me off. Of course, GoW could always have been "inspiration" for EA to make a better co-op based game.

The multiplayer in Gears was trash IMO. I did not like it at all. As for Ao2, even though ive played online, I dont really know what to think about it although it is better than GoW's online multiplayer. The downfall is that the multiplayer games are only 2 vs 2 which does fit the game's style but it makes you almost completely dependent on the other person that you're playing with. If you come across the other team of two people by yourself you're pretty much screwed if they know what they're doing because they will be able to revive each other. As for you, all they have to do is knock you out and you're done because your parter is no where to be found.

NPS are also all over the place online. They are just there for the kill, obviously, but they also drop the ammo pouches that you will need after you start running low on ammo. The multiplayer game types that ive played are extremely objective based. As far as I know, there is no real Deathmatch yet. Killing an NPC gets you $1,000; Killing an enemy player will get you $3,000 (I think); Completing an objective will get you hundreds of thousands of dollars sometimes. That alone tell you that you can not win an online game just by killing.

As far as campaign length - it completely rips that off of GoW too with its incredible short story mode.
Its definitely a rent, but I wouldnt suggest buying it unless you plan on playing a lot of Multiplayer with a friend or something which I definitely will be to get my money's worth.

Every game gets boring - even CoD4.
Mushroom
Didn't see there was a topic of this game until today. Absolutely awesome I thought. My friend got it a week or two back and we did the co-op, and it was fun as hell. I played a little of the single player and my partner sucked, but the game was designed specifically with co-op in mind, so if you guys try this, make sure you get a friend round.

So ya, I loved this game. Frankly, i think its a much more fun co-op game than the recently released vegas six 2 (which i still can't for the life of me understand the hype), and when you have a pimped out golden shotgun you need nothing else. I recomend buyin git, or better yet, get a friend to buy it, and just play with him haha.
The Evil Dead
I've yet to be bored by CoD4. It has a Counter Strike like appeal. Meaning everlasting. smile.gif
