Hey, is Alkaid's "IRL" character a chick or dude??? The voice sounds kinda like Kite from the original .hack series... but I haven't played it for a while... so more than likley... I'm wrong. Any thoughts/knowledge??

Well depending on how far you've gotten in Vol 2, I don't want to risk spoiling anything in the game. But if you read the BBS and news updates in the game, at one point you'll see a picture of Alkaid's player and some info about her.



Alkaid is a 16-year-old girl named Chika Kuramoto. She is a high school student in Sapporo, Hokkaido and is classmates with the player behind Nanase. She loves books, and is part of her school's library council. She loves the Chinese classics like The Water Margin and Romance of the Three Kingdoms, but also Western fantasy and thrillers like Stephen King's Dark Tower series. Her favorite food is miso butter ramen, and one day she hopes to go on a restaurant hop around Japan. She is also a big fan of comedians like Salvador Aihara and "Mr. Usagimaru".

The confusion regarding Alkaid's gender would fall upon the english dub picking a voice that sound far too much like a little boy. At times, Alkaid sound like a cute girl, then at others, she sounds like a little boy. They were likely trying to select a voice that would show off Alkaid's tomboyish traits. Like the majority of female characters' voices in the dub, I wasn't too fond of Alkaid's voice in the english dub due to not fitting the character. At certain times it did, then other times, it didn't.

In this game, I believe everyone's characters match their real life gender. I believe Asta one of the few that used a female character, but was a male player in a real life. I haven't double check to be sure.

Ok, I was going to open up a new topic for this, but since it was about Alkaid, I'll stick to this topic to write this:

Is it me, or does Alkaid have the hotts for Haseo??? I just did the Honeysuckle twin blades thing last night, and I think she REALLY does like Haseo. ALTHOUGH this is an "online" game, I think it would have been cool for Haseo to go with Alkaid because I think they're of the same mentality. Thoughts???

Also, I know that Haseo still wants to help Shino because of the //roots episodes... but does he want to help her because he likes her, or that she's just "a good friend". (I don't remember, it's been at least a year since I've seen the episodes...)

Alkaid got a crush on Haseo? Yeah, it's clear she's got a crush on Haseo! She see that Atoli her rival, because they both like Haseo and Atoli see her as her rival. You'll into the love triangle more during Volume 2. I would go more into detail, but you first need to complete .hack//G.U. Volume 2 before I can state my opinion regarding Alkaid and Haseo's relationship since it will spoil you if you don't complete Volume 2. Since a critical event will happen to effect the relationship of Alkaid and Haseo.

Though, this shouldn't be spoiling you, but you can choose Alkaid for a special event at the end of Volume 3. So, you can get together with her, if you like.

Shino and Haseo's relationship is harder to figure. I believe both are aware and prefer they not get involved with each another. I also believe Shino likes Ovan, but likes Haseo at the same time. Regardless, their relationship is revealed by the end of the game by the choice Haseo will make at the end of Volume 3. You have to wait and see!

Oh, so it's like the whole "date" thing in FF7????

You get a greeting card once you have every character at the end of Volume 3. You will be allowed to send the character to a character to have a wedding ceremony or a touching moment with that friend. You have a wedding ceremony with all females characters. You have a special moment with all the male characters. There's two exceptions and one would that Natsume won't marry you, the only female that won't marry you. The second one would be Endrance will marry you if you send him the greeting card.

Alkaid lost major amount of time though, given how much of Haseo she ended up missing by being away for most of the time. Shino is more of the same, too. Atoli's voice annoyed me.

Of course, I kinda think that Haseo's obsession with Ovan is much stronger than any of these potential candidates...

There's a couple other things you need to do to get the greeting card Eva mentioned. You have to complete the Chaotic PK Quest and reach the 50th floor of the Forest of Pain, both to get Natsume and Tabby. Once you have them, you need to make sure your second Ryu Book is maxed out. If not, buy expensive stuff and give it to some party members. Also, the person you give the card to has to have their affection maxed out. (Pink sphere, with 5 dots around it.)

Alkaid...... *tear tear* Ya could have been a contenda. You could have been somebady. But now you're........ ya..... that. (Kept it open-ended for those who haven't gotten to where I am in Vol. 2) CURSE BORDEAUX!!!!!!!!!!

Actually, Haseo has a couple of people who "like" him.

Shino (Though this is rather complex and deserves debate)
Alkaid (More obvious if you watched "that" scene when Haseo... Not saying )
Atoli (This has been the most obvious by far if you watched the end of Vol. 3)
Endrance (I DO SUPPORT YAOI! Vol. 2 reveals many things indeed...)
Pi (Again, up for debate.)
