There’s a topic on this in the actual Tales forum.

Anyway, personally I liked it. It followed the games closely (from what I remember of both the game *and* the anime, haha), though since they fit the first half of the game in just four episodes, it’s obviously quite a bit shorter. Mostly they just showed the main plot points of the game, such as

how the ex-spheres are made, defeating the monsters in front of the seals, introduction of Mithos (briefly at the end) and the Cruxis + Kratos’s relation with Lloyd, etc. I’m probably missing something here, but they did keep close to the games, for the most part. There are some things that are different, but it doesn’t hurt anything in the least.

Not sure how helpful that was, haha. Personally I liked it (Sheena <3). As far as there being more episodes, from what I heard there *are* supposed to be four more. Beyond that, I have no idea.

Ya, there's a topic of it under the "Tales Series" forum under Popular Games.

I've also heard that there are four more in the works. I find it weird that they totally blasted through the game with the series. It's nice, since they're not drawing it out like that Bleach thing... (yes, I know they're just stalling to wait for the manga to catch up...)

Why can't they make more TOS goodness???

Rumour had it that on the commentary for the fourth episode (it may have been limited to the special edition DVD release I can't remember) the seiyu made reference to work about the Tethe'alla story arc. This just fanned the rumours that were already spreading the 'Begin Here Tethe'alla' screen at the end of the last episode. However i've not heard the commentary myself so can't if this is true or not.

I'm thinking that perhaps with the impending release of ToS : DotNW, work on the anime may have stopped for the time being with the voice artists being committed to the new game. This idea could be complete BS as i'm not entirely aware of what the recording process entails or the time scale of such things but its just a thought.

As a side - ToP OVA was limited to just four episodes as well so it is a possibility that we've seen all the anime goodness ToS has to offer.

Even if this is the case though watch it - if you liked the game then you should really appreciate the work done on this, hell the last episode alone is probably worth it - though if your not one for cliff hangers it might be a good idea to miss this one. Even though I knew what was to come thanks to the game I was still cursing them for finishing it the way they did you couldn't help but want more.

I just liked the animation of it because I believed that anime cut-scenes were INCREDIBLY LACKING in the game... (there was only like one other than the opening...) I sincerely thought there was going ot be a lot more.

I loved the small mini-series, and it kinda made more sense of Colette's "problems" with becoming an angel than the game did. You figured out something was dead wrong within the second episode, and it took like over 20+ hours (if memory serves right) to figure that out in the game.
